Vista Suite with Verandah (AA) Cabin Reviews

Sail Date: July 2019
Cabin was spacious enough with very comfortable bed and pillows. I liked having a desk with mirror next to the glass veranda doors so there was plenty of light for dressing and make up.

The cabin was nice in it’s location however we have never chosen a cabin that didn’t have cabins above and below. We now know why. There was terrible noise above us like scraping chairs across a tile floor until very late sometimes 1am or later. There was also a terrible thumping noise that traveled to our room, maybe from basketball court 2 floors above. Not sure but it was annoying when we wanted to take a rest on sea day or after long day touring. The closets were very roomy and we could put our things in it and in drawers so we could slide our luggage under bed and out of way. We bring extension cord to give us a couple more places for charging. Our room steward was amazing! Read Less

I was happy with the vista “suite”, ( no suite lounge privileges, however, just a room with areas) except for the archaic and TV and broken DVD system. Only 225 square feet , but with a balcony, all nicely arranged, big bed ( a bit hard, so I got a topper), soft linens, long sofa, lots of storage (easy room for a second person), fridge with a fee minibar, safe, and a cozy solo jacuzzi tub (shower above it), one sink, lots of closet space. Only one electrical outlet. All the fluffy towels I wanted were provided as were six pillows on a bed designed for two. A Bible was in a drawer. You can get your shoes shined. Cruise information was well laid out though some of it had seen many fingers. Average cabin attendants, who learned. It was quiet, aft, no odd noises. A good value. Read Less

Stateroom • The cabin is small, but very well organized • The curtains are nice and dark, which is good because the sun stays out late. There is also a curtain between the bed and the balcony for added darkness. Finally there is also a curtain between the bed and the hallway. The shuttle to downtown costs $12 round trip, so it is not within walking distance from the pier. • Lots of storage! Room for the luggage under the bed. • We had a tub/Jacuzzi and a shower. We never used the tub, but the shower was nice. • There are dispensers of body soap, shampoo and conditioner by the shower, which will probably be just fine for most of the guys but not so much for the ladies. • Our cabin came with a pair of Bushnell binoculars, which really came in handy for the glaciers. • We still had the small tv and DVD player, which didn’t matter since we only had it on for announcements and weather. • We also had a robe and slippers provided. • 1 week in dry dock is not a lot of time to make upgrades. There are still only 2 120 outlets and they added a lamp with a USB port. We brought a small extension with 3 outlets and 2 usb ports. • There is a small ice bucket, which they will keep filled if you request it. • Bring your own night light as they are not provided. • If the people in the cabin next to you happen to be a little bit hard of hearing and like to leave their TV on, you will be able to hear it too. • We were in cabin 7055, which is just below the Lido Marketplace. Very noisy late at night and early in the morning. Deck 6 would probably be a better choice. There are only two balcony decks Read Less

Mid way on the ship provides for good stability for those thinking or concerned about being a bit woozy from motion movement. This is an older ship. The cabins are comfortable, except that the ventilation system is antiquated. Our room was too hot; other passengers complained that their room was too cold. There is only one outlet in the room - my wife uses a CPAP machine, and the outlet was on the opposite side of the room. The beds are really comfortable, the towels are nice, and the room was kept spotless. Read Less
