We were so excited to take our cruise. I have cruised once previously with Princess when I was younger with my family and had great memories. As an adult, I cannot completely say the same. Boarding was very easy and fast. Upon boarding we were notified of a room change, which was great because it was an upgrade. I cannot complain about that! And the window provided a nice view. However, the boat's system was not able to follow through with the change. Our luggage was misplaced, our food credits were lost, the honeymoon celebration was removed as well as my nut allergy information. Additionally, our room was moved to be directly over the anchor which proved to be an early wake up call at a couple ports. All of that aside, we also were told we did not have the sip and sail promotion an hour after boarding. This promotion had been verified through Princess and my travel agent and we overheard the conversation months prior when we had debated about purchasing it. We went to guest services who did not offer assistance with this issue. We then tried calling our travel agent who proceeded to work with Princess offboard. The issue was not resolved until Thursday when we were told of a miscommunication between the travel agent and cruise line. We also had to return to guest services twice to locate our luggage as they did not arrive and we were told by the stateroom steward all were delivered. Guest services said they would eventually turn up and did not attempt to do any more. Luckily, our stateroom steward was great and he personally went and found them for us. The change in room also caused our dining credits to be lost. We were finally able to obtain them through another visit to guest services, however we were rushed and left with limited options for use as only one day was left on the cruise and most dining options were booked. Luckily, the Crown Grill squeezed us in, and they were amazing! Food and staff were great. The change in room also meant our honeymoon package was not carried through. We were able to watch others receive their decor, free dessert, wine, etc. It seemed great. Luckily, another honeymooning couple we shared a table with at dinner was kind enough to share with us. The staff we encountered on the boat otherwise was very kind. The waiters, bartenders, bus boys were amazing! The pools were very nice as were the shows and activities. We loved the movies under the stars as well as the shows, in particular the comedian. The excursions offered by Princess were amazing as the tour guides were very knowledgeable, fun, and kind. The medallions made things very easy however the apps were not reliable. Newer phones are not able to download the apps. I enjoyed the fitness room and offered classes. However, treadmills are only available at certain times which made it difficult to use them. The ice cream parlor and food options around the pools were great. The boat had very nice seating areas to relax in and at multiple places. Overall it was a very nice boat and experience when we decided to just be on a vacation and let the honeymoon stuff go for the sake of enjoyment. Disembarkation was a fast and easy process. Read Less

Too many unattended children. Children running in halls, children swimming and drinking water in hot tubs. No parental supervision. Princess did not address the children running and being unattended in the hot tubs-sign posted "no children in the hot tubs." Luggage did not arrive to room until 3 hours after we left port. Luggage was being delivered to rooms at 7pm after we left port at 4pm. Food was very good. Buffet had great selections. Entertainment was great. Movies on Demand was awesome. The movies were available on your big screen TV in the cabin after it was shown on-board atone of many locations. Ship was clean and service in the buffet area was very good for drinks. We had a port issue at the Caymans. We had tenders at the South Port which is rarely used. Waiting for a tender the lines were long in the sun. Princess supplied cold water, a cold rag and umbrellas for the hot sun. Carnival Vista was also at the port and their passengers were not offered anything while waiting in the long line for the tender. Read Less

We have cruised many times before but this was our first cruise on a Princess ship. When we booked this cruise we asked for fixed dining for our evening meal. Once on board the ship we found our time for evening meal had changed yet again - this was changed twice in the UK - without notification - from 8.15pm to 7.15pm and then on arrival on the ship to 7.45pm again without notification. The service in the Allegro dining room was terrible - most nights well over 2 hours for a 3 course meal - too late for seats in the shows. The meals were not fine dining and the presentation on the plates was awful. Soup was sloshed around the side of the dish, which left marks on the table cloth and a meat pie in a pot was the same. The sea was not rough. Another day we had cold potatoes and rock hard vegetables - is this the norm on Princess ships? We never felt full after our evening meal. Then one evening one meal we chose off the menu was a beef tenderloin and asked for it to be well done. This arrived red raw and was sent back via our waiter. It had to be returned 3 times - could not eat it - felt ill - the Head waiter in white jacket was aware of the situation. What happened to formal night? We dressed up for dinner - others dressed in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. We were given a time of 11pm to put our cases out on the last night - then this was changed to 10pm at the last minute - just before we went for dinner. This was not possible, as we were not back from our evening meal which took so long. We booked trips earlier and arrived on the ship to find that they had been changed with extra money added onto our bill - without any notification. 0ur original trip on home flight day was cancelled for some reason. We queried our bill and the extra money was deducted. We had to vacate our cabin at 8am so had to take the trip that had been allocated for us - without our knowledge - at an earlier time of 8.15am in the Concerto Restaurant for 9am coach on our last day, as we were not flying home until late evening and although the coach took us to the airport we still had 8 hours sitting about. We had a mini-suite which was good - no Kettle in the cabin but very clean - but by the time we got back from the safety meeting on our first day - our champagne was flat! Our cabin steward moved items around and some papers, maps etc., disappeared. We are tidy people. Some items were moved in the bathroom the day before we were leaving - obviously trying to clean up for next people! VERY DISAPPOINTING - NEVER AGAIN Read Less

We were just looking for a getaway (we live in Florida so weather not an issue). We had sailed on Princess before - and they had the best food of the "mainline" cruise companies - so that was our reason for picking the Regal Princess (and this part did not disappoint). We went all out and booked a full suite - and there, my friends, lies the problem. Very, very disappointed with Princess suite amenities - if we are going to pay almost $4000 for a one-week cruise, we expect to get amenities commensurate with that. First, the suite passenger venue (concierge lounge) wasn't worth going to - it was so small I would be embarrassed if I were Princess plus this is a pretty large ship and we were at the front and the lounge was as far aft as you can get and 3 decks up). Other than a one time minibar set up, we had to pay for everything: Every other ship we have been on over the past 4 years provides complimentary Wi-Fi to suite guests - but not Princess (150 complimentary minutes on one device - so either me or my wife was out of luck - so we didn't even bother). To me, the crowning insult was having to pay for a quiet spot on the upper decks. We both love to relax on a cruise so look for a quiet shady area to read, nap, etc. There aren't any such places on this ship unless you want to pay extra ($80/day for a cabana in the Retreat or a similar amount for a lounge chair in the Sanctuary). Our cabin was spacious - but the bedroom was probably 3 times the "living" area - seems to us they could have given you a little more room for when you are awake! Clearly Princess is trying to appeal to a younger audience - no quiet background music anywhere. And so much for their policy of not holding lounge chairs (supposedly in unoccupied for 30 minutes, the crew would remove belongings ha ha ha) I would go for a cup of coffee at 7:00 a.m. and most of the chairs already had stuff on them - but no people! And that goes for the minimal number "shady" chairs that were available. Enough - Princess is off our list!!! Read Less

We liked the itinerary. Enjoyed going to the different islands. Food in the Anytime Dining was very good. Disappointed in the food selection at the Buffet. Bartenders need more training on how to make simple drinks ie: Pina Colada's, Miami Vice drinks. We had a Mini Suite with a balcony on Dolphin Deck 9. The people in the decks above us were able to look from their balconies down to ours. Couldn't even go out eary in the morning or in the evening with your night gown, becauses of people in upper decks. Princess Line charges for all exercise classes. ie: Yoga, spin, etc. Other liners don't charge for these activities. Restrooms were very small. On most bathrooms, if there were more that 4 people, you were buming into each other. Probably won't ever go on a Princess Line again. Caribbean Princess needs to look at their problem areas. Medallion setup needs to be a little more "user friendly". Read Less

FEED-BACK ON A CRUISE WITH CROWN PRINCESS My wife and I took a cruise on the Crown Princess from February 25 to March 17 in the Caribbean. we had a mini suite. We had sailed with several other cruise lines before, but this cruise was the first one with Princess. In short, we have been very disappointed and will not select Princess again. A few examples: Buffet: The choice of food on the buffet deck 15 was very limited. Plastic plates and wine glasses, first time we experienced this. The chairs were dirty. The omelet making process was cumbersome. Despite the two areas on deck 15 it was always difficult to find a table in the morning. Dining room: The menu in the dining rooms was repetitive and the quality of the food was not very good. A few times we had to return our plates and did complain at the desk. Cabin: The sofa was old and not very comfortable. Bath room: No toiletry products such as a shower cap etc. The water from the cold water tap in the bathroom and the shower was very hot for 20 days. Bars: The bars like the Wheelhouse bar, Crooners bar and the Piazza were dull and the entertainment lasted only for a short length of time. We are late diners Shops: My wife was not very impressed with the shops. Very limited choice. Health: A lot of people got sick and so did we. Throat infections etc. The medical facility was OK, but the treatment didn’t help very much. Library: The library was extremely poor. The majority of the shelves were empty. Normally the library is well stocked and it is fun to be there during the days at sea. Destinations: The stop at Princess Cays the first destination after leaving Fort Lauderdale was a waste of time. Because we booked two cruises back to back, we were there two times. General impression: Not very friendly, no smiles by the majority of the employees. It was the worst cruise we ever did and as I said before we will not cruise again with Princess. HVDT Read Less

I would like to let you know how dissatisfied we are with Princess Cruises at this time. Our first cruise ever was in 2008 on the Crown Princess. We were very impressed and pleased with everything. There were musical groups entertaining at the pool as well as plenty of activities keeping us busy throughout the day. Waitstaff were always ready and willing to provide us with every request we had. Entertainment in the theatre was of a high calibre and those in various bars and lounges were very good as well. There were two seating times in two dining rooms as well as an anytime dining room. Menus were filled with a variety of delicious dishes. The Horizon Court also provided a wide variety of fine food and open 24 hours. All staff were knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and always smiling. We have introduced quite a few of our friends and neighbours to cruising with Princess and boasted about the many good things experienced when cruising with Princess. We have now just completed our fifteenth cruise, again on the Crown Princess. We have sailed only with Princess and no other cruise company since our first cruise. We even celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this past November 2018 with a cruise again on the Crown Princess. So I would say we have been very loyal to Princess. However we have seen a steady decline in the quality of entertainment, activities, dining food and seating times. The ongoing smoking in the casino is still disgusting and the fact that Princess Cruises subject their employees to the second hand smoke is unconscionable. Our experience on this past 10 day cruise of February 25, 2019 may have been "the straw that will break the camel's back" and send us looking to cruise with another company. On our first day of cruising we had chose to dine in the Michelangelo Dining Room. We asked for the wine menu as we were about to purchase a bottle to have with our dinner. We requested a bottle from the menu and were told that it was no longer available. We then picked another bottle from the wine menu and were told that it was no longer available. At this point we were becoming a bit disappointed but chose another bottle from the wine menu and were told that it too was no longer available. At this point I asked to speak to the head waiter. I asked why these three wines were no longer available and was told that Princess was changing suppliers and was letting their wine inventory deplete before stocking wine from the new supplier. I expressed our disappointment with the situation and was told that he would contact the manager of wine and beverages and express our dissatisfaction. He did so and two days later this manager did follow up and contacted us and provided us a complimentary bottle of wine for our cabin. Our feelings are that "if something is no longer available, remove it from the menu" and not create any disappointment for your patrons. After dinner we decided to go to the International Café for a coffee. We had pre purchased the same Unlimited Soda & More Package for this cruise as we did on the November 2018 cruise, and as we did on that November cruise we ordered two brewed coffees. The waitress took our cards and proceeded to get our coffee. She returned and in front of our traveling companions and everyone sitting around the café, she commenced to tell us that we were not entitled to brewed coffee with this package. I stated that on the November cruise we did get brewed coffee with that same package. She said that she has worked in the International Café for three and a half years and never served free brewed coffee on this package and handed our cards back and walked away. I know who served us in November and I know the counter staff that served us in November and it was not her. Two days later while sitting in the café having a coffee that I paid for, the manager of the café approached us and asked if everything was ok on the cruise. I said NO and on his request I stated the situation with the coffee and the waitstaff. At this point he left and spoke to the waitress. He returned and suggested that we had not seen the charges for the brewed coffee on our November charge statement and that coffee was not available on that package. First of all the waitress implied that we were lying and embarrassed us in front of our friends and other patrons of the café and secondly the manager did not handle the situation very well at all. Perhaps a " let me get some coffee over here for you and we can sit down and discuss this" would have been a nice gesture. A little bit of conflict resolution training may be a solution. I assure you the $1.44 per cup of coffee was not and is not an issue. Our dissatisfaction came from how this situation was handled. On another night of dining in the Michelangelo Dining Room we were greeted and seated at a table that was not prepped for dining. We sat with used cutlery on the table for 20 minutes before the table was dressed properly. It was another 15 minutes before a waiter approached us with a menu. There was nothing listed on the menu that appealed to any of the four of us so the men decided on the old reliable Fettuccine Alfredo and the women chose the Southern Fried Chicken. We then waited 40 minutes for the food to be brought to the table. The chicken was so overcooked and dry from sitting under a heat lamp, It was impossible to cut into it and it was cold. Again we asked for the head waiter who said he would speak to the chef and someone would get back to us regarding the situation. He took down our names and cabin numbers and NO ONE ever got back to us at all. We and our traveling companions decided that we would try the "Crab Shack" dining. As our wives did not care for sea food, we inquired if it was possible that our wives could bring food from the Horizon Court into the "Crab Shack" area and dine with us. We were told that the seating was for "Crab Shack" patrons only. So despite the fact that the ladies were not too fussy about sea food we paid for four "Crab Shack" dinners. We just started to eat when, at the table adjacent to ours, two ladies entered with plates of food from the Horizon Court and sat with their husbands. Upon discreetly asking about the dining policy, we were told that "we certainly can't ask them to leave their husbands". Again very disappointing. Our favorite place to relax and maybe dance, the Wheelhouse Lounge, has been turned into a pub style bar with uncomfortable high chairs and tables. We have never experienced so much "up selling" as we did on this cruise. We and other patrons come on board to relax and enjoy a cruise not to have someone in our face asking us to spend more of our hard earned money. Before leaving for this 15th cruise we were excited that our next cruise in 2020 which would be our 16th cruise and we would become Elite passengers. We looked forward to enjoying all the benefits of the Elite category. So before leaving for the 15th cruise we booked our 16th cruise, 14 days on the Sky Princess. BUT, after our disappointing experiences on this past cruise, I must say that we are contemplating the idea of cancelling this 2020 cruise and trying a different cruise company. We were very embarrassed on this last cruise and were treated as if we were not worthy of any follow up to resolve our problems. Princess often uses the term "loyalty" in their advertising and how Princess patrons' loyalty will gain them perks. Princess should show some loyalty to their loyal patrons. So to say the least ..... we did not "Come back new". Read Less

Oh dear what a difference a few years make, not like no ago princess was one day of my two favourite cruise lines. The cut backs are enormous, the majority of the crew need retraining in knowledge and service. We had so many problems that were caused by poor staff and it took ages to sort out. The cabin steward was a miserable sod (ok they have off days like all of us but not the whole cruise). And his attention to detail was poor , dirty towels left lying around after cleaning , dirty cups plates glasses left around , and some nights no chocolates. Cabin d733 also avoid like the plague if you want peace and quiet yes it has a massive balcony but the engine noise is terrible. Food was poor and unimaginative and repetitious. The MDR one one occasion I literally had my plate slid across the table to me and half fell in ff onto the table cloth. The kids club was great and so was the medical staff which we both used a lot. The ship itself is lovely clean and bright Read Less

Stateroom was ready. B748 aft premier balcony, very small compared to other lines. No sofa, one chair, small table, layout was small apart from hanging space at bathroom door where there was lots of hanging space and a closet holding the safe with lots of shelving. Bathroom very small with limited storage. Nylon shower curtain. Balcony was large with 2 lounge chairs and small table. Dining room food was mostly cold, under cooked and lacked any taste. Only used this venue 5 nights out of the 10 on board. Horizon court, not a lot of choice, "mashed potatoes" grey, lumpy and disgusting. Constantly closing the lines ar mealtimes. Not at all impressed by Princess. For what we paid, poor value for money, wouldn't return. Read Less

Princess cruise was always our go to cruise and loved the Regal but they are trending in the wrong direction IMO. Cutbacks on every front - skimping and saving wherever they can. Entertainment was bad, same old and tired stuff - time to invest in new production shows !!! The comedian was the absolute worse ... just NOT funny at all ... embarrassing really. No live bands at the pool. They try and stick the solo steel drum guy everywhere as "LIVE" music - brutal after the first song. Staff on the ship look like they are for the most part all drawn out and at the end of their contract and just putting in time. This cruise was so bland and boring despite our efforts to try and spice it up. The only saving grace was the games shows we went to that were fun, funny and entertainment. Also, as corroborated by many, for some reason the cruise director Lexi just didn't really translate into a good cruise experience. Read Less

As two Ozzie’s who have cruised for years with Princess we decided on this destination as we had not covered the Caribbean area before. We chose Caribbean Princess primarily because of the date (early January )and it being a two week cruise rather than seven days. The ports were all fascinating. We had our own activities organised and didn’t do any ships tours as quite frankly we have always found them a rip off and beaches hold NO interest as we have the best in the world at home. It was, without a doubt the very worst cruise experience from start to finish we have ever had with this shipping line. It was a total fiasco trying to book this cruise. We had paid a future cruise deposit (on our previous cruise as we always do) but couldn’t use it as the cruise was just outside of the two years when it started. So we were told to wait for the deposit to be refunded and then book!!!!We were overseas when we made the booking and wanted to pay in full a week later when we returned home. When we arrived home Princess had cancelled our booking in full because the final amount had not been paid. No consultation with us.We then completed the passenger card three times and still Princess kept sending for details. For the first time our Dining was incorrect and our bedding arrangment was incorrect. Both were amended when we arrived on board. Embarkation was OK but the big deal Princess make of Priority boarding as a past passenger is a joke. We lined up with everyone else and had first time cruisers in front and behind us in the lines. Also the rest of Princess’s past passenger benefits are useless. So great, we get free internet minutes. WOW!!! We couldn’t claim them because being the first Medallion cruise we needed to purchase an internet package for the duration of the cruise to make the Medallion work!!! Have a look at the ridiculous list of NOTHING ZERO benefits!!!!!! Guys get it together and offer something even slightly substantial. You may as well offer a free party popper on disembarkation for all your benefits are worth. On disembarkation you can go to a lounge and have a free cup of coffee till you are called to leave WOW. Credits for pre paying a future cruise deposit, as stated above Princess don’t honour. The cabins are always consistently good on Princess and I have NEVER sailed with a poor room attendant. They are all top notch and we have never had a problem tipping attendants daily as they ALWAYS exceed expectations and really are the backbone of a good experience onboard. Food on this cruise was AWFUL in all Dining Rooms. The buffet was great though.... but why do you have to eat at the buffet to get a decent feed? And the service in Dining Rooms, there’s no words to describe how bad it was.Specialty Dining was AMAZING but why are you forced to pay to get any service??and decent food??? You’d imagine what you’d ordered in your mind in Dining Rooms and when it arrived it looked nothing like it. One night I ordered a pasta dish which when it arrived was covered in gravy!!!! The formal night food was shocking. Lobster tail arrived, that once out of the shell was one bite (half the size of my thumb) accompanied by a wedge of bbqd watermelon!!!! When the entire table asked for something else to eat as we were starving, the waiter said he needed to get permission from the head waiter and we’d have to wait. We all departed and went to the buffet. For two weeks ( 14 nights) our waiter asked for tea and coffee orders every night...... which remained the same for the entirety of the cruise, and EVERY night our orders were incorrect and had to be sent back. 10/10 though for the afternoon teas. They were delightful and really scrumptious and the service was fabulous. Activities were non existent. Games are not what I expected at all. Destination talks were the only interesting programs offered The destinations lived up to expectations and for the first time cruising with Princess I couldn’t wait to get off the ship. Cocktails before dinner each night were inconsistent at each bar. Some knew how to make them, others you had to talk them through it. We then settled on the only barman who had any idea. Movies weren’t great. Only one was acceptable. For the age of the cruisers choose appropriately. Science fiction is not what the average 70-90 year old watches. And NEVER being able to get a lounge around the pool ( not for even one hour on any day on a 14 day cruise) is ridiculous. At 6am all the Americans come up to the pool area, cover all the lounges with towels then go off and do their activities, go on shore and when they need their lounge it’s been there covered in towels for 12 hours so nobody else can use it!!!! Throw the towels boys and let ALL passengers enjoy the swimming pools and the lounges during the cruise. The medallion works well despite teething problems but this was to be expected. A great invention and was fabulous to be able to find your partner or kids on the ship at anytime The shows were of the usual Princess high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed every one but there were a lot of passengers who had sadly seen them all before In a nutshell Princess had penny pinched hugely on food on this cruise. The cooking was bad, mostly over cooked, the portions were tiny, NO SECONDS was astounding on a cruise ( have never come across this before and we’ve cruised on all lines. Princess have lost us. We were so annoyed we took all gratuities off our account TWICE and have still been charged them. Princess refuse to fix it although we put it in writing twice up until the last morning. We knew there was a credit card problem early in the cruise with my partners card onboard so he offered another card for his account. This could not be changed ,so I put in writing to reception that everything he spent could be put on my credit card and we’d sort it once back home. Even that could NOT be done. So when he went to disembark they sent him back to reception to fix his account. We stood in a queue then for 40 minutes!!!! where they said he would probably be charged twice and then Princess would have to refund one credit card and this could take up to a month!!!!! NO MORE PRINCESS you’ve lost us. Read Less

We chose this Cruise for the itinerary and the "reputation" of the Cruse Line. A lesson in not believing in their own PR! They failed in every aspect of their published standards. Dress Code in main dining venues simply ignored by management (i do not blame the guests) Food was rather Hit & Miss. The constant interruptions as the waiting staff are made to up-sell either drinks or substituting something at a cost, during every course of the meal absolutely spoiling the so-called experience Guest Services - poor. Having pre- booked Flowers, it took three visit over three days to make it happen (flowers done after four days). Tour Concierge, I approached to inquire for some information, as soon as it became clear that I was not booking, she just was not interested. I had to regularly clean the seating on the balcony and wipe down the balustrade, as it became grime from the sea spray (the glass had not been cleaned for weeks) Entertainment was very poor (With the exception of the productions in the Princess theater) the Vista lounge was seldom in use, over the two weeks. Programming (and Menus) repeated on a seven day cycle. Sea Days: The Cafe & restaurants around the Atrium became overcrowded as guests would either remove seats or "move in" for several hours reading books or playing card games!, preventing gusts who actually wished to dine from being seated. Management simply did not discourage this selfish behavior, again I hold the ships management responsible. Disembarkation - they just want you off the ship (in my case 07:50) having booked a shore excursion which would have dropped us at the Airport, bur they canceled the tour. First & Last Time Read Less

We asked to be seated with table of 4. We were traveling with two other guests. They really didn't want to accomodate us. They did several nights. We had anytime dining but prefered to be with our friends at dinner. The Cabin and service was exceptional. The Piano Bar was not available (perfomer was not there) until the last night (9 out of 10) no piano music which is one of the most enjoyable to us. The games took too long to get set up and organized. You lost interest in waiting for "it to start" the staff stood around as tho they were uncertain what to do. Dining experience was good. Bar tenders great. Cabins were good. Pools were good. The movies and TV shows were terrible. The ship had so many seniors very very few children if any. The movies selection was not good. The Pizza was to die for! #lovethatpizza. The games shows were to slow in getting started and it seemed they were just unorganized. The Theater performances were pretty good. The excursions were geared to "shopping" when they were "Beach" excursions. Too much time wasted on shopping. Read Less

My family & I are easy-going people & we had fun despite the fact that this was the most unfriendly ship we have ever sailed on! The food was also average to below average & I am not that particular. The best place to eat was the grill on the ledo. The buffet & dining rooms were a disappointment as was the coffee shop. Also- beware of locals in Grand Cayman offering tours. We were offered a tour with 6 items & they only took us to three. When I asked them about seeing the dolphins they'd promised, they just kept saying NO DOLPHINS! One of the three things they took us to was to snorkel. We were told to hurry up because we only had 20 minutes to snorkel. I also had problems getting the correct photo from "Stingray City" that I paid $20 for. After they had me choose the photo I wanted out of about 8 that they took, they sent me another family's photo. When I emailed them back & told them, they said they were sorry & emailed me one of my family- but not one I chose & my one daughter's eyes were closed. Now they will not even respond to emails. The person on the local boat in charge of it is Mary Palacios . They promise a lot but deliver on very little. Anytime dining for 4 people required sitting and waiting 45-75 minutes the Symphony Dining room. We were discouraged from dining at Concerto because it seemed there were a lot of special events whenever we wanted to go. We liked that there was a library where we could borrow board games, pick up suduko puzzles and brain teasers as well as books. There were a lot of activities scheduled and we missed the dance lessons but it looked like everybody was having a lot of fun. We wished that the dance lessons would have continued through the end of the cruise. We did not attend any of the entertainment in the theater. The movies under the stars was a great idea because we could sit in the hot tub and watch the movie or just lay out on the lawns chairs and they provided blankets when it was cold. We watched the balancing act at the piazza and we really liked the piazza setting because it was some place you could walk into whenever you wanted just to see what was going on, have a cup of coffee or snack, etc. The only friendly face and the crew was our cabin steward. He always seemed surprised and somewhat nervous but at least he smiled! My teenage daughters signed up for the teen program and when we signed up we specifically asked if there was organized activities or if it was just come in and go out when you want and they said there was nothing organized. Unfortunately, although my daughters were excited to meet other teens, the 1st night they wanted to go at 9:30 to kind of slip in in casually and get to meet others without all the anxiety and pressure. What ended up happening was they got there in the middle of an ice breaker that the crew did not think to mention and they were mortified when to they had to pull up two extra chairs and sit down in front of everyone who was in a big circle. Once the icebreaker was over they left and never went back. I was going to insist they give it another try but the teen Beach House opened at 9:00 p.m. and usually by then we were winding down for the evening and the girls were tired and not interested in going. I am planning our next cruise during spring break, but I am booking with Carnival. Read Less

We arrived on a Saturday and when we finally made it to our room we were sorely disappointed that the room looked unkempt. The bed looked like someone just got off it and left it wrinkled and was showing it's age/use or both. The mirror above the desk was filthy and untouched. The carpets were greasy looking and dirty. The bathroom looked clean and we were surprised by that. Balcony railing was dirty and wasn't ready for guests. Balcony chairs had bird droppings on them. Live television has four channels BBC, MSNBC, Fox and CNBC. All are limited in the information they provide. The recorded programs were ample with recorded t.v. and movies. The furnishing were dated, something from the art-deco period. The A/C in our room didn't work. Most days and evenings were hot and muggy and we only got a break late at night. We left the door open and got chewed out for this, they sent someone to adjust the a/c, but it was our last day. Most areas of the ship were hot and muggy, the a/c didn't keep up with the number of people on board the ship. We stopped at Princess Cays for the first stop and I wished we hadn't. Like most cruise lines they all seem to want to drop you off on an island so you can eat dry hamburgers and hot dogs and then get a sun burn. A waste of time, stay on the ship and sleep in. Our first stop was St. Thomas. This island is a typical Caribbean island with nonsensical items that you don't or won't ever need except to give away as gifts at Christmas. The island is one of the more modern islands in the Virgin islands (that's not saying much). We went on a two hour tour around the island in a truck and it's not for the faint-hearted. The tour truck takes you up a steep incline and stops three times so you can shop for more junk. The view at the top was nice. The next stop was St. Marteen and it's not a pleasant experience. The downtown shopping area is filthy, shop keepers are generally greedy and want way too much for the junk they sell. The highlight of the island is to visit the airport where the jet blasts your brains across the water and leaves you deaf for the rest of your life. No I didn't go to the stupid airport to watch unsafe aviation practices. After St. Marteen, you are stuck on board the ship for two days. This is the most boring part of the trip, this cruise itinerary gives you three at sea days so plan for the doldrums of things to do. The sea days were tedious and we wished we had another port of call along the way. It would have been better than two days at sea. This is why we don't opt for cross Atlantic sailings etc. The ships entertainment is amateur at best and you just have to roll with it. It's not going to win any awards, but it kills time. The themes are definitely geared for families with children, which I wish we didn't have to put up with on a cruise. Seems the cruise lines that depart from Florida are filled with kids and they love to ruin your relaxation. The food during the cruise is plentiful, there is a caveat to this. The caveat is that the food is plastic, i.e. without flavor, texture and eye appeal. The bistro was suppose to be the main place for breakfast and lunch but there was too many people that made the place a nightmare to get around. The layout is non-logical, i.e. bread in one salon and the cold cuts in another. Breakfast is a "Where's Waldo" type journey, you have to hunt for fresh eggs and omelets are harder to find. Look for the lines with people holding paper slips, that's the omelet line because you'll never see the omelets. The drink choices are water, water, water, ice tea and coffee and tea. You're lucky if you get orange juice and lemon aid during other parts of the day. Soda water, normally free, is chargeable as with milk. We noticed the ship had a very noticeable shake and it was so bad at times we could see our plates and utensils moving on the table. I had to wonder if the prop shaft was out of true and needed to be repaired it was that bad. We also noticed the lack of sanitation control. Most cruises will have a "soap police" to make sure you are washing your hands or using the hand sanitizer. Not this ship. Only few washed or used sanitizer. Read Less

I selected Princess Regal because most reviews were good and the price of our balcony stateroom was fair for a Christmas cruise. This was my fourth cruise and my daughters first. I have cruised with Disney and Royal Caribbean prior and fully trusted this was going to be equivalent to them, NOT true! Embarking was just ok, felt like a “number” and felt rushed by the staff. Staff appeared unhappy and all had fake smiles, nothing seemed genuine and we certainly did feel welcomed. (Compared to Disney and R/C where we always felt appreciated and literally felt like royalty). Food was equivalent to school cafeteria, it all “looked” tasty however we had to take two plates to taste-test - it was pretty bad. Service was even worse, staff not friendly and we almost felt invisible on this cruise UNLESS they wanted to solicited you for an event. Was told prior to cruising that all cabins were equipped with Roku and Prime TV. (Told by Princess Cruise Lines 800 #) NOT true! Our tv did not work for any of the News programs. If you try to call Guest Services they never answer! Room service was good (must be a different kitchen) however menu is somewhat limited. Staterooms very small, as well as balcony. Nothing fancy and furnishings are worn and broken. Refrigerator was barely cool. Balcony table broken and beat. Anytime Dining was a joke! Long lines! We only experienced the Dining room one evening, food was less than stellar, tasted like Scwanns and pre cooked! Horrible! And I just could not get past how unhappy the staff was. I am sure this comes from the top, Princess must not treat their staff well! Disembarking went quickly however, again, the staff was NOT friendly! Old gentleman monitoring the escalator literally YELLED at my daughter! My daughter never wants to sail again. I will stick with R/C and Disney, I never thought I would be miserable on a newer and expensive cruise until now! Read Less

I booked this cruise with my family for Christmas and New Years thinking that this was going to be a cruise of a lifetime. I have previously sailed with Royal Caribbean and thought that this cruise would be equivalent. I was sadly mistaken. I was met at the airport and got to the cruise ship easily. The ground transportation staff transporting you to the ship was easily identified and waiting near baggage claim at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. After waiting for a bus to appear, we climbed on-board and went to the ship terminal without a hitch. Got to the port and the embarkation process was a hot mess. Because my flight got in late in the afternoon, I was in one of the last groups to get on the ship. The embarkation staff is rude and they don't have a handle on managing the crowd or flow of people that are checking in, and they have this little mean man that yells at you to hold on to the handrail on the escalator. There are several choke-points that will keep you waiting to get on board the ship. Their security staff seems to be unable to screen your carry-on bags because they are too busy checking their text messages. The ship while small, is beautiful and was beautifully decorated for the holidays. My cabin was okay, and the balcony seemed a bit tight. The sofa in my suite seemed a bit run-down. One negative was that there wasn’t an outlet by the bed, as there is only one outlet on the opposite side of the room on the desk. One other negative is that the outlet in the bathroom didn’t accept polarized plugs, thus forcing me to shave in the desk area. During the vast majority of my cruise, the live TVs in my cabin didn’t work. We called guest services, who insisted that the TVs worked. After escalation to the director of guest services, they sent a tech up to our room who said, “Yeah, your TV doesn’t work, and we know it. We’re trying to fix it, it’s a programming issue.” For my trouble, Princess generously gave me a $25 credit. (Please note the sarcasm. A better solution would have been to give me free WiFi.) One final thing that was really bothersome about my cruise was that I ordered water packages in advance, and I called Princess prior to my cruise to make sure that I would have my water upon boarding the ship, and they didn't give me the water that I paid for until day 5 of the trip. Our cabin attendant was good and very attentive. However, the rest of the staff seemed as if they could care less. Their attitudes seemed to vacillate between indifference to outright rude. The food at Sabatini’s was good. The food at the Crown Grill and main restaurant were uninspired and pedestrian. I had to send dishes back on several occasions. It seems like the chefs and cooks learned their culinary skills at Chipotle. Their overall cooking philosophy seems to be: “add more salt.” Most days, it seemed that the food in the Horizon Court was much better than the food in the Main Dining Room, and I found myself going to the Horizon Court after being disappointed in the Main Dining Room. Toward the end of the cruise, I just gave up on the Main Dining Room. Alfredo’s Pizza was decent. One thing that is really odd about the ship is the Crab Shack “Specialty Restaurant” which is simply a roped off area in the Horizon Court that you need reservations for. It is just weird. Also, it should be noted that if you have a drink package on the ship, you can't use it on Princess Cays, which is really obnoxious. The hot tubs seem to be small and always crowded. The fitness center was crowded in the mornings and you may have to wait for some of the equipment. The entertainment was uninspired and at times was awful. The spa was very nice. Overall, there are better cruise options out there. Read Less

I chose this particular cruise because of the ports and because I chose to spend the holidays differently this year. That being said, I was looking forward to some good meals, relaxing in the spa and a beautifully decorated ship. What I experienced was the total opposite. The decor looked like it was 30 plus years old, maybe even the original. The spa lacked any amenities (except a sauna) and the manager was unpleasant. I usually shower in the spa after my services and one day there wasn’t even hot water. No hair dryer, toiletries, etc. As a vegetarian, I struggled with all the dining options. I was hungry one night and tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich from room service and they had no idea what I was talking about! The veggie burger was the worst I’ve ever tried and there was never a veggie pasta option in the buffet. All sauces were pre made with meat/seafood. And no one was making any exceptions. I would rate the food overall a 4/10 stars. And I’m basing that on the few average meals I had. The ship is dated with obvious wear and tear. I didn’t feel like our cabin was my standard of clean and sanatized it myself upon arrival. The room also smelled terrible every night after turn down service—not sure why. Very disappointed with my first Princess experience. Read Less

Picked this cruise for the Itinerary and heard good thing about Princess, Unfortunately we must of got a poor result as the food was poor in the main dining room, entertainment finished to early for the late diners, ship looked tired in places, smaller staterooms than we were used to, this was my 10th cruise and I probably would not go on a Princess cruise again, we had a relaxing time as we wanted but there were far to many negatives with this particular ship. We did like the fact we could get on at 11.30 and Fort Lauderdale was a good port to go from, adult only pool is only available if you pay for it in the Sanctuary, on our cruise being holiday time it had plenty or children running about in both open pools, we didn't struggle to get sun beds which was a positive, glad to see deck attendants removing saved beds quickly, entertainment was good, nightclub is massive only night we saw more than 10 people there was xmas eve, as usual DJ didn't say more than a few words, Our ports of call were good and we enjoyed them, still find it painful how much we have to pay for WIFI, $150for a 10n day cruise when I need to keep in touch with home & work, drinks package I wanted was $60 per day which I didn't purchase [beer only] I like a drink but that was off my radar, seemed food was biased to seafood which I don't eat, having cruised several times before this was by far the worse food I have eaten in a main dining room, staff are very good as most ships are but when the dining room was busy they struggled to keep everyone happy, overall we had a nice relaxing cruise which didn't spoil our holiday but we would not go on this ship again. My family and I have been on approx 30 cruises. We have status with RCL (Preferred), Norwegian and Carnival. We had only heard positive things about Princess so decided to on a 7 day Princess Cruise leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale. The cruise was paid for in early November 2018 for 3 Balcony Cabins. One day before traveling to FLL for the cruise, Princess (working with partner cancelled one of our paid for cabins. This action taken after one of our cruisers was unable to join the rest of the family. In no way was there any communication to Princess that the other sailors wanted to cancel any of the 3 paid for reservations. After some haggling with Princess via Planner, they provided us with an Inside Cabin...all the way on the other side of the ship...and charged us the same price as what we had paid for the Balcony? Not only that, but as a Military Veteran of 11 years, I was informed in writing by Planner that each of the 3 cabins would be provided with $100 spending. Upon check in,, none of the 3 cabins was provided with anything. After working with Princess Customer Service Manager on the Regal, they finally decided to provide my cabin only with the $100 credit. Note that I provided a copy of my DD214 to her and to Partner and to Princess...all to no avail. There are plenty other horror stories to share about our adventure on the Regal, but that would be for another topic...also note that Carnival owns Princess, Holland and other cruise lines. So if planning a Christmas Cruise and stopping at the Caymans as example, where a Tender Boat is required, plan on waiting 3+ hours to get off the ship, and worse, each of the cruise lines only had 1-2 Tenders running at a time meaning your return back to the ship meant spending at least another 2+ hours in line...it was so bad that our ship was sailing and we still had over 1000 people waiting to be tendered back to our ship. The anger from the passengers was incredible...the ship offered everyone a glass of wine as a means of saying sorry for the inconvenience. By far the worst cruise line of the 4 i've been on. I would never recommend Princess to anyone...I will limit my cruising to Royal Caribbean and Norwegian going forward. Lesson learned! Read Less

We have cruised as a family on 5+ cruises now and this is one of the worst we have been on. Norwegian and Celebrity are MUCH better than Princess for about the same cost. The food, entertainment, ports--everything was better with them. Princess needs to stop cutting corners and amp up their customer service. Cruise staples of soft serve ice cream and pizza were bad. If you like breakfast food, bring your own because they have no idea what good breakfast food is (and as we all know, it's hard to mess up breakfast). The ports were okay, but the tender service in the Grand Caymans was a NIGHTMARE. The tender I was on I waited 15 minutes for, but we were sitting out in rocky waves for an hour while everyone was throwing up. It was a disaster. On the way back the tender line was wrapped around itself with people waiting. All of the other cruise lines in port had minuscule lines compared to ours. While we were waiting, we had the "pleasure" of an extremist evangelical preacher screaming at us all in line. Ironically, he got on our tender as he was a passenger on our ship, yet Princess staff did not diffuse the situation. This was our first and last cruise on Princess. Read Less

Two cruises, back-to-back on the Royal in Dec. 2018, Arrived with a high dust line on edges in state-room. We wipe our staterooms with anti-viral peroxide wipes - NEVER HAVE WE RECOVERED SO MUCH FILTH ESPECIALLY ON THE RETURN AIR GRATE. Bathroom linens have been cheapened for our travel category. Definitely a decline in public restroom service, as paper towel bins regularly overflowed throughout the ship. We had to ask our steward for items that should have been provided. On Christmas voyage Princess gives each child a gift from Santa, On prior Christmas voyages we were impressed by the quality. On this one, the gifts to the kids were falling apart soon after they got them off the "stage." Last year's gift's were available for purchase. Oh, the quality improvements - the theatre stage shows were EXCELLENT. Novel is the presentation of a complete story within a well crafted, well sung, well danced, and well acted performance, The ship's company included a fantastic soprano who should excel wherever she chooses to perform. Also, the Static dance band was fantastic, as was the Crooners performer. Dining services were well handled, open seating on the first, fixed seating on the second. Food quality was among the best that we recall with Princess. Fixed seating was excellent; open dining -- "Why are you here?" at some tables. And, the spa... overpriced and too crowded. On each voyage I purchased the Enclave experience ($149.) There were broken robe hooks in the facility. People brought glass-ware into the facility that could have been a real liability if a glass broke, and people HOGGED facilities with their towels when the were not using them. PRINCESS, YOU NEED TO GET SOME MANAGEMENT CONTROL OVER THE LOTUS SPA FACILITIES - not just profit control, Also, Princess staff did nothing to control "kids" who insisted on running throughout the ship. I WAS ALMOST KNOCKED DOWN BY A BRAT IN A CORRIDOR. If Princess doesn't have that incident on video, I wouldn't feel safe anywhere on the ship. And, the ship felt definitely overcrowded. But with the present Princes CEO, what should we expect. Maybe Princess can find senior management who focus on the the customer's total experience, rather than marketing to attract the customer. After 25 cruises exclusively with Princess, our next is with Viking, expecting better for our $$. If we don't downrate the experience, Princess will see no need to improve. And this cruise was within 2-3 weeks of our 50th wedding anniversary, on file with Princess customer database. No acknowledgment. Do we have to tell the cruise line everything to do?? Another reason for choosing Viking. Read Less

I must say, embarkation and debarkation were the best I've ever had on all the cruises I've done. I'm sure it had something to do with the fact that we are now in a higher level as a Princess passenger but we also had a Club Class balcony mini suite which offers many extra perks. We felt the quality of the food in the main dining room was lacking its quality compared to our past Princess cruises. I thought my prime rib had a total different flavor than what I am used to and especially when we had the filet mignon. That didn't taste anything like a good steak should! The service was also a little slow. Could be because we had any time dining and therefore you never know which wait staff you will have. On previous cruises we would choose the early dining time and have the same table every night and always had a good time with that but now on cruises we choose anytime dining so it doesn't interfere with any other activities we're doing daily that may interfere with the assigned dining time. The first evening nothing was said for dress code reasons however, the second evening my husband was wearing very nice dress shorts and a nice polo shirt. A staff member mentioned to us about proper attire and then let us go to a table. I just don't understand why men can't wear nice dress shorts yet a female can and not only that, even a jeans skirt! By the third evening, we were enjoying the Horizon Court buffet every night. They have a great variety and it's different each evening too. We even went there on the 2nd formal night and realized we didn't even have to get all fancied up for dinner again! if it had been just my husband and myself we most likely would have gone to the main dining room but others didn't care for the menu choices so that's why we kept eating dinner at the Horizon Court. I do believe that certain cruise lines have cutback on particular evening menu items. When I was expecting surf and turf one night, it wasn't even lobster being served! It was some type of shrimp dish along with a type of steak. That was very disappointing. I personally felt the evening entertainment was lacking for the 30+ age group. My husband and I had good entertainment but I felt sorry for my son and his girlfriend as they did not have good late night entertainment as previous cruises had. No dance club! No late-night comedians! Also, this time of year we knew there would not be many families with young children, yet had a feeling the average age on this Cruise would be around 40+ and we were correct. The overall entertainment and activities should have been more lively to please ALL adult passengers. We did have a wonderful bartender at Crooners we called "Jo" and she was the best! One day we all wanted to sit just outside the bar area on Deck and Jo not only delivered our drinks outside to us but also added wonderful olive trays and trail mix too! Also, the nightly piano player adjacent to Crooners has a great voice and plays any song you want to hear. Every night there was audience participation too! Very good entertainer! Our room steward, Ben, was very kind and friendly every single day. Even though our gratuities were all prepaid, we gave Ben an added bonus the last night for all his extra efforts. The biggest disappointment for us on this ship was the layout in the Princess Theatre. Unlike other Princess ships as well as other cruise ships we've been on, you could easily bypass others sitting and also would have a small tray or cup holders between all seats. Not on this ship! There wasn't any room for waiter service either, so you better make sure you grab a drink or two before even going to find seats! The quality of the shows where just okay and we only went twice. We just didn't like the feeling of being over-packed in the theater with its tight sitting. That's another important note! If you are an individual that weighs probably more than 180 pounds you won't be comfortable at all in the seats they have provided. The shows and entertainment nightly on the promenade deck we're very good but then again, no real place to sit around and watch unless you were already at one of the bars surrounding the area or standing along all the stairways and balconies looking down at the show. The gift shops we're all very nice.... Typical of what I've seen on all ships. My one disappointment was that I only became aware of the special sale for "gold and silver by the inch" on our last night at sea! I was told by staff that it had begun 2 nights previously but was never listed in the daily Princess Patter newsletter! Bummer! I wasted over an hour and a half just waiting till my turn! They only had two salespersons working and the place was mobbed, and they also did not have very good experience because they took forever trying to connect the clasps on all pieces! This is all I can think of for now. I know I have listed both pros and cons from this cruise and I wanted you to know that I still fully intend to continue cruising! Sure you have good and bad wherever you go and what makes it better this how you make it fun yourself and that's what we did! Read Less

Terrable food! Horrible selection, poor quality, really disappointing. At Horizon court buffet the food display would have 20 different items to choose from, 7 of them were bread. The other 13 just were random items that did not go well together. Dinner in the main dining rooms was consistantly cold they had poor choices and served by a staff that always seemed inconvenienced. I have sailed a few times on princess and loved the ship's and staff. The Crown was a huge let down. They constantly tried to upsell us on dinners to speciality restaurants. The bartenders would daily charge our account for drinks even though we had the top drink package. The ship looked tired and used... the public areas were small and crowded. Our sailing was not filled to capacity, down approximately 600 guests, now I know why...the gym had unusually low ceilings, I could not run an a treadmill or elliptical because my head hit the ceiling. I'm 6'3, not the only person that had this issue. If you book a trip on the Crown make sure it is a really great deal, you dont get much for your money. Read Less

The room was small and we are glad we went for the balcony. The entertainment was none existent and the one show we went to was no better that a high school musical. It was their first show and you could tell. The promotional video shows more but this was not on this cruise. Didn’t agree with the extras especially the gratuity. A few complimentary drinks would have been appealing not charging for every pop and juice. And the drinks package at $7 each per day was not the way to go. The whole cruise was revolved around the promotion of the jewelry store. What a con to get you into their store. Disappointed with the undersized room and the phone booth sized shower. Doubt if I will cruise again. $7000 by the time we were done. Come back Disney all is forgiven. Read Less
