Cruised on Oasis from Port Canaveral to Eastern Caribbean 7 day. Nassau, Saint Thomas, Saint Maarten. Check in was delayed by one hour for extra cleaning do to some passengers getting sick on the prior trip. I want a clean ship so that was fine. That delay made things a little chaotic in the terminal since everyone that showed up early was not able to board and backed things up for a little while. Still only took a little over an hour to get on the ship. We arrived at the terminal at 11am. Stayed in a standard ocean view balcony stateroom, 12th floor forward, port side. The room was comfortable with adequate room for two. Overall the ship was in good condition, All the staff was very friendly and ready to help. Dining rooms nice and food excellent. Buffet was also good with so many options it was hard to decide what to get. There are too many things to do on this ship to list This ship is huge. However, I think the size makes it seem less crowded than some of the smaller ships. My only complaint is that the smoking areas were right in the middle of all the activities. You could not walk on the main pool and open deck, port side, without walking through the smoking areas. Depending on the wind direction, the smell would travel to all nearby areas. Not Good! Didn't really detract from my trip but be warned that this is the case. My favorite port of call was St. Maarten for sure. Easy to get Taxi/Water taxi. St Thomas taxi area was a joke. I would definitely cruise on this ship again. Read Less

We are a family of 6 with our exchange student with us. Thus we needed adjoining rooms. We the kids in one and my wife and I in the other. First issue is that RC won't combine adjoining rooms into one reservation. Second issue is that you must have an adult in each room. This would have been easier to work thru had it been communicated when we booked our rooms last summer. They got our money but failed to inform us of these details. When we went about getting final details done a few months ago this room arrangement became a big problem that they could NOT fix on the computer. They could not move me or my wife to the other room. But without an adult in that room we could not finalize that rooms reservations. We spent hours on the phone with this issue. What a complete pain in the you know where. Another big problem was the bait and switch on an excursion. A large group of our friends were on this cruise and we had booked an excursion thru RC for a catamaran to take us to a private beach and back in St. Maarten. When we get off the ship they herded us onto a bus and trucked us to a beach. We protested to the lady that we had a catamaran trip and she looked at us like we were nuts. These two issues put a damper on our experience with RC. As far as the food goes, the main dining is equal to Carnival and Disney but not better. We paid considerably more for RC and there was not one thing that stood out and being worth the extra money. Cabin size. These were the smallest state rooms we have ever stayed in. The bathrooms are tiny. Heavy set people would probably have trouble getting in and out of the shower. The sink is 1/3 the size of a standard sink. Clothing storage. There is very very little. For a 7 day cruise they need more. There are only 3 drawers. There are 3 cubby holes in the closet and about 10 clothes hangers. Read Less

We enjoy Oasis of the seas for our teenage children. There is so much to keep them busy. All kinds of activities all the time and with several sea days, this gives them time to enjoy everything. My boys liked hanging out at the basketball courts and the table tennis, my girls enjoy the pool deck. They all enjoy the rock climbing, dive show and other shows, bingo, listening to the musicians and the planned activities. There are always other kids around to hang with and they really enjoyed making new friends. They also love the pizza shop, hot dog shop, ice cream cones, and eating in the main dining room. Having said that, we have cruised a LOT and this is NOT our favorite ship. It is very crowded at all times and there is a line for everything. From the snack/coffee shop, to getting a slice of pizza, be prepared to wait. It was difficult to find pool chairs on sea days, the bars got crowded and we had to wait for drinks around dinner time, bingo was absolutely ridiculous, there were so many people playing that someone got bingo after only 5 numbers were drawn which really takes any fun out of it. The service was spot on as we have come to expect with Royal Caribbean, from the state room attendant to the servers in the main dining room and the bartenders, everyone gave 5* service. I, personally, just prefer a smaller more intimate ship (without so many lines). But for a family adventure this is certainly the right ship! Read Less

I chose this cruise because I have been on the Harmony, and am going on the Symphony,so I wanted to go on the Oasis. It has gotten such good reviews and I remember when it was released all the news around it. The Oasis is a beautiful ship! I took my two grandsons, ages 11, and 13. The boys tried going to the pools, but never got in, because they were so crowded. I know its spring break, but...There was plenty to do for the 13 year old, but the 11 year old didn't want to go to the kids club,so he was quite lost. Our cabin attendant,Vincent, was wonderful !! We had dinner in the main dining room, and our wait staff was great!!! Our waiter, Richard, and assistant Raveen could not do more for us. We had a problem in the dining room one night , but it was a problem with the bar service, which we had a lot of other places. Loved the 70's party and the prohibition event. My biggest complaint was the size of the rooms. This is my 15th cruise and NEVER have i been in a smaller room. If I hadn't bought extra storage, we could not have done it. Although it was a good cruise,I don't think I will go on the Oasis again. Read Less

Great for kids not for Dinks.... the Windjammer restuarant was always packed and a frenzy at meal times..far better to eat in the dinning rooms. Spending on the ship is in US dollars and when converted back to AUS expensive.. 1 us dollar to AUS 66cents Better to get a drinks package if you like a drink..otherwise average 10 bucks a drink, 15 for cocktails and all in us dollars. Lots of up selling. Never had a massage on board..did this time and it was about $220 AUS each.wow! Orginally booked for 4 ports, one was dropped before we left. one we couldnt get to because of weather..disappointed Read Less

This was my second time aboard Oasis. I am Diamond and a single traveler. Embarkation at Port Canaveral is pretty seamless albeit crowded. This cruise was taken during spring break and there were many family, young children and teens aboard. Overall this was not a concern. Because of the size of Oasis, privacy is sometimes are to find. The Solarium is the best place for adults to sit and relax since it restricted to 18+. You can get breakfast and lunch there as well. First stop was Nassau..did not bother to get off the ship. Not a fan of the port Charlotte Amalie..excursion to ST John’s. Nice boat ride to the island and very informative. The bus tour was aboard a crowded open air vehicle. Made several scenic stops. If you had never been to St John’s this might be for you. St Martin: a tour not to miss!! Royal Fun Family Food Tour!! This was a small (16 people) group We made three food stops: Cheese House where we made and tasted four kinds of Gouda cheese made into Mac and cheese and plentiful champagne; stop two was an eclectic restaurant on the French side called GutSide Restaurant where wwe were treated to a delicious spiced pumpkin soup and a portion of jerk chicken that was outstanding prepared for us by the owner - this place has to be seen; the final stop was at the Carousel Ice cream store where we made Gelato hosted by the owners (Diego and Stella) and were treated to a ride on their full sized carousel. Not to be missed. Oasis also has more than one location for Diamond and above...one on deck 11 and another in Blaze (very quiet and not crowded at all). This makes it very easy to meet and chat. Overall: because Oasis is so huge, you will likely find the main promenade busy most of the time. Shops open only during at sea of course but most bars are open after 9 or 10. The pool areas are as expected crowded and noisy especially around the kids pool. Chair “saving” is actually watched and enforced for a change. I did not use the Windjammer buffet except for breakfast the last day. It was crowded but no lines. A couple of hints: embarkation day - go to Central Park to grab a quick bite.not a hectic as Windjammer. Try the Wipe Out Cafe for breakfast - made to order omelets and eggs plus a soft ice cream machine. The Oasis is as much an experience as it is a cruise. Once may be enuf for most folks but if you want to try it, you should. Read Less

My husband and I chose to purchase 'The Key' on our Spring Break cruise this past March, Since we did not want to spend the extra money on a Suite Class cabin, we chose to purchase some of the benefits that come with Suite Class staterooms. Priority Check in was fast, easy and we did not wait in line at all!! We walked right up to "The Key" check in desk and it was about 5 minutes of standard check in information, then we were off to the ship. Carry-On drop off. We then proceeded to the carry-on drop off area where we dropped off some items (stroller, carry-on baggage). It was labeled and brought to our stateroom. Off to lunch at Chops! (included with 'The Key') Our lunch at Chops Grill was amazingly yummy!! It also helped us avoid the chaos of the Windjammer lunch rush. The wifi that is also included with the key was high quality and one we appreciated throughout the vacation. The priority seating for all the shows was incredible and having a 4 and 6 year old helped us arrive minutes before showtime and have excellent seats. We also utilized the zip line, rock wall as well as the flowrider designated times without any wait times. Friends encouraged us to try Oasis. Despite what people say, this ship is very big and crowded! Lines for everything, disembarking at various ports , especially Nassau, was a disaster - essentially a mob scene - all that was missing were a few burning cars !! Service was good , but very impersonal. The staff was trying , but I sensed they were overwhelmed. Food was mediocre at best! On the plus side , the entertainment was excellent. It was a shame that half the audience left Cats at intermission. The cast was excellent . I guess the drink package was more important! Shore excursion in St Martin was excellent. We did the Royal food tour . Other excursions were very average. If you are traveling with children and don’t mind crowds and need lot of stimulation then Oasis is for you . If you are looking for a relaxing cruise , look to the smaller ships - Radiance class. Read Less

Well here I am again writing a review for the Oasis of the seas – Sadly nothing has changed for the RCCL Oasis Class Cruise Ships. After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that writing about the experience may not be as informative as identifying the short falls that seem to be plaguing these big cruise liners. So I have changed up the format a bit to “hopefully” provide a better insight. This was our 13th cruise with RCCL and I am sure the burning question is “why do we keep cruising with RCCL if there is so much pessimism in my reviews” – The answer is simple, we have been fortunate enough to sail on Six of the Eight Class Vessels and 12 of the 23 ships available in these classes. We have reached Diamond Status with Royal Caribbean and with these personal experiences we encountered on these ships we believe we can give a fair and impartial review. Although the Oasis Class Ships fall short of why we enjoy cruising with RCCL – there is still hope with the Freedom / Voyager and Vision Classes. So let’s begin, I will start with the Memorable Experiences, we were a group of 6 during this latest adventure and we generally seek out the Employee that we feel goes above and beyond. This varies from trip to trip – and could be anywhere on the ship. Our first few days on board was disheartening, the lack of Bar Tenders – Workers and the sincere lack of One on One Customer service and personal one on one communications was nowhere to be found. Sadly my wife and I went on this cruise knowing these short falls, however my brother – sister-in-law, Nephew and his fiancé were very discouraged as this was their first trip on the Oasis Class Ship. The crew was not the most personable compared to the Freedom and Voyage Class Ships. The crew seemed weathered, wore out and not very enthusiastic. I get it, these people are working around the clock nonstop day after day, dealing with all types of diversity etc. RCCL owns these issues as “IMO” RCCL is asking more from these people than RCCL “Company” can deliver. The Big Ships hold no comparison to the Freedom and Voyager Classes when it comes to customer service and one on one communications. Customer / Bar Service During our 7 Night Cruise we saw 3 Bartenders on the Pool Deck the whole week, needless to say although we received some service – Most of our drinks were self-Served at the bar. The casino was much worse where waiting for an Hour for a drink was the norm or not getting a drink at all, I actually ordered a drink from a wait staff member and ended up waiting 4 Hours (During this time I was up and down getting my own) Windjammer Nightly – No seating available, general wait time 15-20 minutes before sitting down, Lack of Workers to keep up with the Customer Demand. Dining Room Breakfast Waited 1 Hour for our breakfast – Half Cold – Half Missing and Half Wrong. To top it all off I order Eggs Benedict and the eggs were hard boiled. The Manager of the Breakfast Room told me quote “That is the way they are served” – I looked at him and said you’re kidding right? I was so dumbfounded that I just had to walk away before I said something as imprudent as he just did. Next Cruise Office Honestly – we were treated like children, we were treated like we had no idea what we were doing, One of the Employees that was helping us put a whole new meaning on the word condescending. Casino The Hostess were incredibly rude – condescending and most unprofessional we ever met, Pit Bosses? All they did the whole cruise was sit in the bull pen and talk to one another, a far cry from the Allure 3 months ago where all the pit bosses including the manager were very involved with passengers in the Casino. Bad for business IMO. With that here is what the Oasis Cruise Ship and other Big Liners are missing Customer Service Customer Care Professionalism Cruise Passenger Interaction The Basics that made them who they are With ANY company, bigger does not mean better, especially when your company relies on customer service and fun filled adventure, relax let us do it for you ect. I have a terrible feeling that RCCL and others like it are trying to race to the top with the biggest and best without any regards to what they are actually losing, In comparison to the Freedom / Vision Class Ships – We still maintain that the customer service is outstanding on the smaller ships. At least that is where we left it last we cruised with them. We will know in about a year whether that still stands but for now. Because of our status and offers we have received from RCCL we will be on board the Oasis in December 2019 – Between now and then I do plan on writing letters to corporate with the hopes that things can improve. Look me up late December as I will be sure to write another review. Note: We are not looking for anything – kickbacks etc. We are simply trying to point out that RCCL Oasis Class Ships are missing what we love about cruising – The one on one personal interaction, we do not expect anyone in any field to wait on us hand and foot – that is not the type of people we are, we don’t expect special privileges. We are just pointing out that our concern is that the seasoned cruisers can see what’s missing. We still stay loyal to Royal – just hoping they can get back to the basics. This is our 2nd time on the Oasis. This cruise was tied to a "Rockin the Caribbean" event featuring singers and bands from the 50's and 60's. We really enjoyed the ship and entertainment. The crew was very helpful and attentive. There is so much to do on the ship it is hard to take in all the events. The only negative is the stage show "Cats". This show was slow and hard to follow. Even the comedians made fun of the show. We had a ocean view balcony room which is great. The Ports visited were interesting. We have been to Nassau several times so we just visited some of the shops in town. On St. Thomas and St. Marrtean we had excursions which we booked thru "Shore Excursioner". We have used this company on other cruises and find them to be reliable and fair with the price. I would recommend the Oasis for an enjoyable cruise. Read Less

We are primarily a River Cruise couple and being on a large ship for a week didn't seem to exciting to us. We received an invitation from a family member to join them and we did. The Oasis of the Seas is something special and from the first time we saw it in Port Canaveral as it dwarfed other ships, to an extremely easy bag drop off and check-in process to walking into the Promenade Deck 5, we were in awe. We purchased the Delux Beverage Package and I would highly recommend it. Beers ran approximately $8 - 10 dollars each, so if you plan to have five drinks throughout the day, it is worth it alone not to have the package and not worry about how much you're spending,,,, you're on vacation. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunches in the Park Cafe and the Solarium Bistro. The dinners in the main dining rooms were just OK+ considering how many guests they are serving. The several meals we had in Chops Grille were excellent (both lunch and dinners). The service was excellent for all meals. I would highly recommend the Specialty Restaurant Dining Package of which there are two. Entertainment was better then anticipated and although Cats is a very boring show, listening to Memory made it worth the long seating. The Aquatic Show was excellent as well as the Frozen In Time skating show. Come Fly With Me (Musical, Dancing and acrobatics) was awesome..... but the Headliner left much to be desired. All in all, our cruise was just wonderful and we will be looking forward to another cruise next year; or sooner. Read Less

We cruised with a group. We had reserved private tour for 6 with Bernards independent of ship. He was a bit hard to find-near back of port area-but well worth it. We had arranged ahead of time to bring school supplies which he donated to local foster kids for us. He had let us know they needed them & we were glad to be of help. We had a very good tour guide-Jackson-who was friendly & accommodating & took us where we wanted to go & on out schedule. Went shopping in downtown which he told us would be less expensive & it was although port area did have some great buys too. Spent some time at beach & Jackson waited there so we could leave when we were ready. Jackson gave us a great tour of both sides of island & lots of great info. Just FYI, if you use scooter on ship, Bernard's has a safe place you can leave it while you're on tour. We will definitely use Bernard's again. As for Oasis, we love Royal Caribbean but felt they nickle & dimed us a bit. We were on Princess Regal month before & in room movies were free ($11.99 on RCI, free popcorn & cookies & milk at Movies Under the Stars & drink packages were much cheaper. Soda package on Princess included soda, fresh squeezed juices & mocktails for $9.05/day while RCI's soda package included only soda & was $9.99/day. Service & entertainment on RCI were excellent, especially our dining room waiters-Komang & Bronwyn, They knew our names & drinks etc by 2nd night & parked our electric scooters outside dining room & brought them to us after dinner nightly without our asking.. This was our first cruise and what an experience. We just got back last night and can't stop talking about it. Kids age 15 and 18 were very impressed. Highlights were our cabin steward, Vincent. He was very friendly, making sure to introduce himself personally to each member of our family and kept our room clean 2x a day. We felt spoiled for sure. Towel animals were are pleasant surprise. Another big highlight for us was MTD in the American Icon dining room. We had the same 2 waiters, Gerald and Sukhil who made our dining experience truly the best. We sat at the same table 148 after requesting it the first night. We all agree, our dining experience made our trip. The ship was clean, crew very friendly, guest services were helpful in moving the line along. We really liked our ocean view room and would do the same next time. Ice cream machines were popular with our kids and were maned by an attendant which made the line go much quicker. The drink pkg was also worth it for us. We had beautiful days with no rain. The excursions were fabulous. Counting down to our next cruise and can't wait.. Read Less

Our group consisted of 6 people, my wife and myself, our two adult daughters, our son-in-law and our 7-month old granddaughter. We are "loyal to Royal", having completed 14 cruises with RCCL, many of them with our daughters when they were younger. This was our third experience on Oasis-class ships. Overall, we had a good time, and I think this class of ship is ideal for a group with a broad range of ages, as the various neighborhoods offer different experiences for different interests. But there were certainly opportunities for Royal to improve the experience. Booking a family group We needed three cabins for 6 people -- a couple, a single and a family of three. To my surprise, a 7-month old child counts as a full fare paying passenger, so with the single supplement for my younger daughter, we would wind up paying the equivalent of 7 passengers' fares for our group of 6 (there was no "kids sail free" deal when we booked). To get around this, we split up into three couples, with my son-in-law and granddaughter in one cabin, my two daughters next door, and my wife and I in a third cabin. Once on-board, we reconfigured the sleeping arrangements with no one from Royal being any the wiser. Seems like we should have been able to book the cruise with the room arrangements the way we wanted for the same price, but had to MacGyver the solution ourselves. Embarkation We had a mixed experience on this cruise. Our prior cruise (in November '18) was the best embarkation we'd ever had (Anthem of the Seas from Cape Liberty), so my expectations were very high that Royal had implemented the same innovations for Oasis. No such luck. Arrival at the pier was chaotic. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. by car, and the departing passengers were still in the process of picking up their luggage, so the simultaneous drop-off and pick-up activity made for a very crowded terminal. After getting through the drop-off, pier-side parking in the garage was very quick with lots of availability. Once into the terminal, the line-ups were significant. As Diamond members of the C&A society, we expected a bit of a fast track, but that didn't start until after security screening. The screening process was OK, and once we got into the Diamond line, we were processed quickly and were able to board the ship straightaway. Specialty Dining Our Travel Agent had a deal available that offered us one specialty dining experience per cabin, to be booked once we got on-board. We usually dine in the main dining room, and are always very pleased with the food and service there. But since the specialty dining was a "freebie" we decided to use it. By the time we got around to trying to book a dinner time, things were pretty well fully booked. So if you're thinking of specialty dining it's a good idea to book ahead, or if you have a deal like ours, as soon as you step on board. We booked 150 Central Park. Very nice food and attentive service, and no feeling of being rushed. The only disappointment was the "table side Caesar salad" ... true to the menu, the salad was prepared at our table side, but the dressing was already pre-made. In shoreside restaurants where we've had this, the server made the dressing from fresh ingredients right in front of us, starting with cracking eggs and whisking in the olive oil. At 150 Central Park, they might as well have brought out the bottle of Kraft dressing and poured it into the bowl. Table side Caesar salad done the Royal way is a "why bother". Overall the experience at 150 Central Park was OK, but not something I would pay extra for. As a "freebie" it's OK, but next time around I'll look at some of the other alternatives before returning to 150. Child Care The Royal "Babies and Tots" child care program is excellent! For a low fee ($6 per hour in the daytime and $8 in the evening) you can leave your child in the nursery so you can enjoy some "adult time". My daughter and s-i-l did this a few times during the week. They'd read ahead of time about the need to get in line early to book your times, so we went there directly after getting on board. It was a bit of a wait, but managed to book the times they wanted. If you plan to use this service, it's great, but be sure to plan ahead to get the times you want. Dinner time on formal nights book up very quickly. Poolside There is a special-purpose Baby Splash Pool on the pool deck, designed for babies who aren't toilet trained -- they are allowed in the pool as long as they are wearing a special swim diaper. This was great for our granddaughter, it gave her a first pool experience. Royal is one of the few lines we could find that really catered to parents of young babies, and we can't say enough positive things about this -- it allowed us to really enjoy a 3 generation holiday. Windjammer Buffet This is normally my "go to" choice for breakfast, but on this ship there is no custom omelette / fried egg station, or at least none I could find. You could get fried eggs and omelettes, but they were all pre-made and not necessarily the way you wanted them. We also had two times when there was a huge line up to get into the Windjammer, extending out the doors. We've never experienced this before. In those cases, we turned around and went to the Central Park Cafe for the meal we were looking for, and there was no line up there. Overall, our experience with the Windjammer on Oasis was disappointing. Our prior cruise on Oasis, and our cruise on Allure both had better Windjammer experiences, so hopefully Royal is aware of the problem and is working on improving it. Entertainment The main production show on Oasis is the musical CATS. Strange choice. Aside from the one big song (Memory), there's not much to this show. Many people left at intermission. And it's a frequent enough happening that the comedian in the Comedy Club (great venue) jokes about it when he says "Welcome to the Comedy Club, an intimate venue seating 60 people, which is still more than see the 2nd act of CATS". We sat through both acts, and the singing and dancing were excellent, but overall the show wasn't that entertaining -- which is what I thought of the show when I saw it 30+ years ago in Toronto. Other entertainment on the ship was excellent. The Aqua Show is a must-see. The Comedy Club is great for stand-up, and the Jazz Club had performances by some of the cast members of CATS, doing both Jazz and Broadway standards. Neighborhoods One of the real strengths of the Oasis-class ships is the "neighborhood" concept. Central Park, in the middle of deck 8, was our favorite, an area mostly used by adults. The Central Park Cafe was a good spot for a light breakfast or lunch, without the line ups of the Windjammer buffet. Vintages wine bar is there, along with a couple of the specialty restaurants. The Rising Tide bar stops in the middle of Central Park, and you can ride it down to the Promenade on deck 5. Kids are the focus of the Boardwalk, with it's hot dog stand, carousel, candy shop and Johnny Rocket's diner. We stayed away from that area mostly, as it's pretty chaotic, but if you have young kids, it's the place to be! While the ship was full of kids of all ages, we found many spots we could hang out that were relatively quiet. The Solarium, at the front of the ship on the pool deck, is an adults only retreat with lots of loungers, a restaurant and bar. Fitness There is a well equipped fitness facility on-board, and an excellent walking / running track on deck 5. The track is 666 meters long (about 725 yards), so you don't have to go around in small circles like on most ships to get a significant distance. It wasn't very busy, and from some spots on the track you get a good view of the ocean (or port) as you walk or run by. This is one way Royal has really taken advantage of the overall size of this class of ship, it is the best walking/running track I've used on any of our cruises. Service The service in the Main Dining Room was excellent, and the team we had looking after our table ensured that we had a high-chair for the baby, and a fruit cup and steamed vegetables at the table quickly, so she had something to play with (or eat) while the adults contemplated the menu. The only negative in the MDR for us was the wine service. We started getting a glass of wine at the Champagne Bar just before dinner and carrying it into the restaurant, so that we wouldn't be sitting waiting for 15 minutes for our wine order. We've had this same experience on other Royal sailings, I think it's their service model to really limit the number of Bar Servers on duty in the MDR. Disembarkation After a very optimistic start (our luggage tag numbers were called about 30 minutes ahead of schedule) disembarkation was a disappointment. Just prior to us getting to the gangway, Customs & Immigration shut down the process due to a backlog of processing people. We waited more than 45 minutes in line before the flow of passengers started again. A real positive for Royal in all of this is that several of the ship's Officers made appearances in the line up to apologize for the delay. They did what they could to ensure that we were informed of what was going on, and I give them credit for this. They also brought a drink cart around to offer people coffee & juice while they waited. Once in the luggage warehouse we quickly found our bags and then joined the big snaky line to speak to an Border agent. One of the largest ships in the world was in port, and CBP only had half of their inspection lines open. This isn't under Royal's direct control, but I would expect they could influence the number of agents. I contrast this to the disembarkation from Anthem of the Seas last November, where each passenger could choose to line up to see an agent, or step in front of a camera which used facial recognition to determine if the person was OK to proceed, or needed to go to "secondary inspection". We chose facial recognition, and were waved through immediately without any delay. This innovation should be implemented across the fleet! Overall While my review may sound negative, overall we had a good time with the family, and would recommend Royal Caribbean, and an Oasis-class ship, to anyone looking for a multi-generation vacation. A key tip is to make sure you sign on to the Cruise Personalizer well in advance of your trip and book your main shows and any specialty or MyTime dining you want. Once you're on board it's much more difficult to find the times you want, and the way they schedule the shows, you may find that dinner conflicts with your preferred showtime. If you take an hour ahead of time, it will save you lots of frustration while on board. Read Less

This was my second time to sail with Oasis (5th RC cruise/10th total cruise) and all of my expectations were exceeded. The ship was at maximum capacity and I never felt like I was in a crowd. Because I've sailed on Oasis before, I knew to make all of our dining and show reservations in advance. This was my first time to dine at Chops and it was delicious! However, I felt the Main Dining Room was just as good. Windjammer, Park Cafe and Sorrentos were also always delicious and I never had a problem finding a table. The Sorrentos pizza is out of this world! So good! We opted for My Time Dining. Our waiter and assistant waiter, Kingsley and BinBin were fantastic! Honestly, they were just so efficient and kind and we looked forward to seeing them, every night. They took great care of us and had such energy! The ship is in great condition and everything is kept extremely clean. Our room attendant, Viola, was a doll! She made sure our balcony cabin was always clean with fresh towels and we had cute towel animals every night. Our ocean view balcony cabin #14206 was mid ship and the perfect location. Even though we were on deck 14, we rarely waited more than a couple of minutes for an elevator. Overall, I had the best vacation ever. Thanks to all the RC staff for always smiling and making sure we were well taken care of. I highly recommend RC and Oasis. I am looking forward to my next cruise, on Allure. I will only sail with RC. The trip was excellent from getting on the ship to disembarking. This company knows how to move a lot of people through dinners, shows, buffets. Staff are professional and courteous beyond belief. They do everything in their power to accommodate your wishes. Asked for extra towels and couple wine glasses so my wife and I could have a glass on the balcony, was done in minutes. Cabin attendant was funny and greeted you with a smile or joke every time you saw him. Rooms where immaculate always. The waiters in the dining room where as good as any 5 star restaurant. We brought our 18 and 16 year old sons. The staff were courteous with them whether we where around or not. The food is wonderful with selection for any palate. You always knew exactly what was going on because you receive an itinerary every night for the next day. The tv channel also kept you informed. Lots of shows for every taste. The layout of the ship had places for children, adults who wanted to party by the pool and areas for adults only that wanted a quiet place to relax. This is definitely not as cheap as an all inclusive resort but worth every penny. The only Con we had was the Flowrider. It is fun when the guest get to try it and the viewing area cheers and laughs when you fall. When the "Pros" show up and make it into an Olympic sport it ruins it for everyone. The worst is when the old guys from the diamond club get to walk on anytime they want ahead of you. My sons where laughing at them because they where so embarrassed that they though anyone was impressed. Read Less

Beautiful ship. Lots of entertainment and things to do. Staff in general were a mix - some great and some rude. I fell and twisted my ankle, very obvious since it turned lots of colors. Was told to go to medical - they were closed and had been for hours. It wasn't a big deal, could have used a wrap but the attitude by the main desk was very poor. The two gentlemen that helped me get up were lovely however. Bartenders, etc. were a mix - some pleasant, some rude. Cabin with balcony nice, well set up but the mattresses and pillows were like bricks. Steward was great and attentive. Food in Windjammer was disappointing; my fifth cruise and the first time I felt like there was little to choose from. Main dining room was nice but we got stuck on the late dinner despite my pleas. Food was good and Yeoman and Putu were wonderful! The one general thing I don't like about Royal Caribbean is that they nickel and dime you. Saw Cats - wonderful production. Charged 2.50 plus 18% gratuity for a small box of popcorn. As much as you pay for everything they charge for popcorn? Read Less

Overall this was one of the best experiences in my life and I am now looking at other cruises. Getting aboard was long lines but went relatively fast and I feel they do an excellent job considering the number of people. This is a massive ship with all the bells & whistles and most of the time was very relaxing but the pool area needs more lounge chairs or better overlook on guests reserving them. Dining was absolutely fabulous in the main dining room with great service with very good selections and prepared to perfection. There are many other choices for complimentary dining at almost any time of the day. The entertainment overall was very good with one exception, The stand up comedy show was very disappointing. There was 2 comedians and the first one was OK but not that funny and the second one was so foul mouthed it was embarassing. I am no prude and am a retired US Navy so have heard it all. This was way overboard with the foul mouth. "Cats" was very good but goes on for too long, most people leave during intermission. Read Less

We chose this cruise solely based on the itinerary & date, as we were a group of 8. From the beginning to the end, it just wasn't as good as the Anthem of the Seas. The boarding lines were a nightmare, with the staff unable to control the lines, people rudely cutting, while we followed the instructions. One of of our group had to have their cabin sanitized as it stunk of body odor. Another group had a broken safe for the entire trip and no one fixed it, and their rug and sofa were stained. There were people visibly sick everywhere (coughing) by day 3. 5 of the 8 of us got the flu by day 5. One of the excursions were cancelled, and our party was not told until 20 minutes after the departure time.(1 PM) Not enough time to make any other plans for the day.Disappointed that the buffet did not have an omelet station, as Anthem did. Promenade coffee shop always had lukewarm water and decaf every morning, and you had to ask for fresh hot tea water or decaf. The staff everywhere seemed to have an attitude, with the exception of our dining room waiter and assistant. Trivia MC was an idiot, couldn't keep track of what number question it was. The comedy, water, & aerial shows were great. "Cats" was ok, but I saw it on Broadway, so maybe that's why I wasn't impressed. The Solarium pool had green mildew all around the rim. Worst part we brought 4 people who normally sail Carnival and told them how great RCCL was, and were totally embarrassed! They said Carnival was better, so what does that tell you? Read Less

The size and scope of the shows are also difficult if not impossible for other ships to duplicate . We were on the allure of the seas about four years ago on a Mediterranean cruise and The shows on the oasis were far superior. Somethings that come to mind are we had a boardwalk balcony view cabin towards the back of the ship room #9327 which afforded us a view of the boardwalk but also the aqua theater and the ocean . At night with the ocean view would be boring and dark you still have things to see in the boardwalk so more interesting I think at night . I brought a fan and earplugs and had no problem with noise . We knew noise from aqua theater and shows would be there but sliding glass door really shut down the noise .Three people in the cabin , myself ,wife & 84-year-old mother . Drainage for sink and shower were best I’ve ever had on a cruise ship . So Nice not having to stand in water to take a shower .Shower was tight for me and I am 6 foot 200 pounds but I made it work it is round in shape. With the sofa bed out space was limited but again you can make do .The balcony was decent sized ,table & 2 chairs. We received two Royal Caribbean soda refill cups in the room . I guess it was part of getting a boardwalk room. No real information on it or how to use it but we figured it out and I think a soda package is about $70 per guest so nice perk . We purchased the blue lagoon deluxe beach break through Royal Caribbean and getting there was not pleasant like herding cattle , with 40 minute ferry to and from it didn’t leave much time to do much .The lunch provided was a short buffet line that you were allowed to go through one time so pile on the food because you can’t go back .They did have a very tasty lemon and strawberry?slushy’s as much as you wanted. For the cost of the excursion I don’t feel it was worth it, maybe if you did the dolphin encounter it would be worth it . You get specials and discounts emailed to you from Royal Caribbean before your cruise and one of the specials I decided to purchase was the BOGO specialty restaurant offer but I failed to see that you must use it on The first two days only so be aware of that ,not real obvious in promo . Also you had to go through the casino for your shore excursions which is very smoky , The left side is less but still smoky . Also two out of the three main restaurants have the casino entrance adjacent to their entrance and the smoky smell trickles in . My time dining doesn’t I believe . Coke machines to refill your Royal Caribbean glasses were found in Sorrento‘s pizza on royal promenade deck 5 and up in Windjammer buffet towards the back deck16. Might have been more on the ship but I never found them. Making reservations for every show for specific times and dates is kind of a pain but you can do it the only problem is ...... our first night cats was canceled , our second night oasis of dreams aqua theater show was canceled . Now when the rescheduled times were announced they conflicted with our dinner schedule ,and shore excursions .We never got a round to rescheduling them but happily to our surprise we showed up for a cat show that we had not reserved but with our Sea passes We’re scanned and it showed we were in their system as well as oasis of dreams same thing .So my guess is if you had made a reservation and they were the ones who canceled it you were already in their system for any other time for that show they show they had. We were happy about that because both were quality shows. Cat is a Broadway show . People next to us who said they had seen it at Broadway said it was very close to what they saw and I quality . You know opera and ballet are very difficult and I appreciate how hard it is to do it well but I still don’t really enjoy it . Cats wasn’t quite like that but I sat through it just to kind of get cultured .LOL.We saw their parade through the Royal promenade ,best seen from deck six looking down but we were on deck five and although crowded could see it my 84-year-old mom liked it . Very high energy . Only done one time . Booked the 5 star tour of Saint Thomas through Royal Carribean, save your money NOT even one star! Different guide would have made a little difference but still no .First two hours of the “tour” we were dropped off in the district for all the jewelry store Hockers we’re out soliciting you to come in to sell you jewelry it was nonstop and constant I just wanted to get away. That was two hours of my life I can’t get back . My brother just walked off the ship and found somebody to taxi him around for $25 took him too many of the places we did not go . Our tour bus of maybe 15 people Stalled out going up the mountain at least five or six times and of course could not understand a word from our tour guide I yelled out many times do we need to get out and push they changed out different van and guide. Ended up in Megans Bay beach but got there so late that we were the last ones to leave got back to the ship but it was pitch dark and missed the headliner show we had scheduled ,wound up never seeing it . Tip ...... Bring your iPod and headphones would have made passing the boring times a little less painful . I enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and “ egg McMuffin “ at Park Café , easy in easy out . Contrary to some reviews oasis did not appear run down tired or old . was clean and staff appeared happy to serve you, I am still amazed because they see different people every week with no breaks . “ Frozen in time “ ice-skating show probably most entertaining of all shows , much better than Alure’s and there wasn’t one show that I wouldn’t rate A- or better, other than the comedy show which was just OK B- . The pizza at Sorrento‘s was better than expected fresh and hot and welcome for some reason later at night after shows for a late night snack . Learned a trick to get on the elevators . There was five of us and we used stairs for two or three flights but my mom is 84 so sometimes had to use elevators . First trick don’t all have to get on at once but see if you can just slip one or two in and the others wait for a new elevator . Sometimes it’s best to go down to go up . Sounds funny but with the elevator to go down is open get in that one take it down ,and then go up . I did have a problem with the quality of food that wasn’t a specialty restaurant . The speciality restaurants Certainly a more intimate and quiet experience and the food was consistently good .We did 150 Central park , Giovanni‘s table , chops grill , Izumi hibachi had a good show but terrible desserts but one specialty restaurant where you can see the ocean ,, went up to Windjammer for sweets, also looks out over the ocean , they sure have quite the artist carving watermelon designs real works of art , One night they had cotton candy making station and made to order crepes, When we were in the Grand(they picked 8PM time for us but would change to earlier seating if could do over for ease of seeing shows)it was LOUD,they had a parade both nights for the waiters that was deafening we did happen to hit lobster night on day six , and they do give you as many as you want seemed a little fishy but hey it’s seafood so quit complaining and eat them . The soda was so flat every night it was like a half glass of soda left out overnight and then poured into a picture and then poured back into your glass , yeah I know soda is bad for you but I’m on vacation so stick it , The second night I brought my cup refilled it at Sorrento‘s first so at least I had fizz for the first glass. Over all a very enjoyable cruise we played miniature golf , ping-pong , I did the zip line which is worth doing if there is not a long wait I would say if there’s more than three or four people ahead of you come back later . One thing I missed was a designated movie theater showing movies continuously like Disney but alas they probably use that space for a big smoky casino . You can get movies on your TV but again got to pay for them,This day and age other than Disney it seems that you have to pay extra for everything like Soda,movies,decent food, using the bathroom , no not really I just threw that last one in, their public bathrooms are amazingly large and clean quite impressive.I’m so tired of writing I have to stop,hope this helps other people with some info. Beautiful ship. The food in the dining room was excellent. The ship is clean and it was interesting to view the different neighborhoods. The room was clean and relatively spacious and the balcony was one of the larger ones we’ve had. We enjoyed Central Park and the boardwalk. The crew was friendly and responsive. Service was excellent. There is a great variety of entertainment and many different musical genres to choose from. This was the first ship that I had to make reservations on for all of the major shows. It would be important to do so. Also, even if you use my time dining, you need to make reservations. Without reservations there seems to be a wait especially for the early dining times. The ship goes in for drydock later this year so it will be interesting to see what changes are made. I would strongly recommend travel on an oasis class ship with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

Just returned from Oasis - Eastern route - after taking Western one year ago. This year's experience was even better than last year because of a much better dining experience. Last year, My Time Dining was a disappointment overall. This year we chose early dining and our server Vaibhav and asst Claire at table 564 in Grand DR were outstanding. The American Icon for breakfast and lunch was always impressive. Windjammer was chaotic at times but well managed. We even tried Johnny Rockets for a fun lunch but opted not to try other optional restaurants. Arrival at Port Canaveral was again the most organized port we've ever experienced - kudos to all the helpful staff there. We chose a Boardwalk balcony - 10329 and it proved to be spectacular- offering both views of the ocean along with the Aqua Theater events. Highly recommended especially if you like an aft view. Once again the entertainment was very enjoyable everywhere except we avoided Cats after being disappointed last year. This massive ship offers such a variety of acts and venues. Glad to see that smoking is being very restricted. Crazy ridiculous drink prices are very evident even with highly promoted packages. Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten were good stops that still displayed the horrific hurricane damage from 2017. They're still trying to recover especially in St. Maarten. Disembarkation was organized considering well over 6000 pax. We opted to self-disembark. Overall a great experience despite such a large ship. Anxious to see what the Oasis two month refurb this fall will have to offer. Read Less

Yes there are 6000 guests on board however with only one exception, we didn't experience any long lines. The exception of course was the windjammer buffet. They hold you up at the entrance so they can locate a seat for you which is a good idea. Other wise there would be tons of people bumping into one another trying to find a seat. Just too many people and totally unnecessary. We instead ate breakfast at the Central Park Cafe'. No lines quiet, enjoyable and the food was good. If you want to go to a buffet and load your plate to the ceiling with food you probably wont eat cause it's free, the Park cafe might not be for you. There is no charge, however there aren't 10,000 items to choose from. Specialty dining was simply awesome. I would highly recommend it. Main dining room was OK but we preferred the specialty restaurants. We found the solarium cafe' to be in between the main dining room and specialty restaurants as far as food quality. You will need to make reservations in advance but it is also free. Loved the shows. By the way, RESERVE YOUR SEATS FOR THE SHOWS prior to sailing. Drink prices have gone way up sense we last cruised on Royal three years ago. The drink package might be for you if you plan on drinking five or more drinks per day. Keep your eyes open prior to sailing for deals on the drink package. Day 5 they offered several drink deals. We took advantage of the 10 drinks for $79 card. After gratuity it was close to $100. You save around $35 bucks depending on what you are drinking. Only thing I don't like about RCCL is the day strip on the floor in the elevators. I don't want to be reminded every time I get in the elevator what day it is and how little time we have left. LOL Read Less

My wonderful boyfriend had been on a cruise previously and was excited to be part of this adventure with me. It was my first time on a cruise. You do not have to get off the ship for anything! The food was delicious! the crew was friendly and professional! the cabin overlooking central park was spotless and romantic! we could hear live music every day from the balcony or our cabin! The entertainment on the most part was excellent! except for Cats (which was boring!!). In the main dining room our wait team were friendly and accommodating as we don't eat meat or shellfish. They went the extra mile to make us feel at home!Thanks to Christopher and Tarin!!!( and the extra delicious bread daily!!) Even though there were 6000 other passengers it never felt crowded or hectic on the cruise! We always could find a place to sit by the pool or deck or dining areas at breakfast and lunch! The week previous to our departure from Port Canaveral, unfortunately the Oasis of the sea passengers were in an outbreak due to the norovirus!! When we arrived we were extremely impressed in how it seemed that all preventative measures had been taken to prepare for us. The whole week the crew went out of there way to keep the passengers healthy with sanitizer at every venue, restaurant and store! I work in healthcare and was impressed!!! My only other complaint was the coffee!!!Thank goodness for Starbucks on sale on the Royal Promenade deck! Can you not improve your coffee???!!! Many of us love a good cup of coffee a couple times a day! Our off shore experience with the Nassau glass bottom boat was not worth the money! The speaker system was horrible and you could hardly see anything where they stopped to look thru the bottom! By the way the rum punch seemed watered down as well.Oasis of the Sea if you have kick backs I think it is time you found a better company! All in all it was a fantastic week! This was our first family cruise, and every single aspect of our trip, from embarkation to disembarkation, was phenomenal. Every single RC employee we came into contact with, from the janitorial staff, to the deck attendants and maître d, were pleasant, friendly, personable, and SO professional. Our balcony stateroom was immaculate, beautiful, bigger than we expected, and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. Our porter Gina was so cheerful and happy every single time we saw her, and she did an incredible job of helping to set the tone of our vacation. Last year we went to an all-inclusive resort, and we were curious about how the food with RC would compare. HUGE difference-and surprising considering that the all-inclusive was considerably more expensive. Every single bite of food we had on the ship was fresh, well prepared, and honestly delicious-particularly in the main dining room. The variety from night to night was perfect, every course of every meal came out quickly and was hot, tasted delicious, and amazingly somehow did not feel "mass prepared". We are picky eaters and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food everywhere we went. Sorrento's was fabulous (and we're from Philly-we KNOW good pizza!), and we appreciated that fresh roasted vegetables were always available to go along with our pizza. Our waiter in the main dining room, Alberto, was one of our best memories of the trip-kind, pleasant, and SO attentive, as was his beverage assistant Iputu. The fact that he meticulously cut our 4 year old son's food up each night probably seems like a minor detail to your management, but it's those little details that completely elevated the whole experience for us. The delicious jerk chicken that was off menu that we were served on Caribbean night was also a great surprise! We had heard great things about the kids club, and were hoping our son would be comfortable enough for us to leave him there one night of the trip so we could enjoy a date night. After a private and very thorough Q&A meeting initially with one of the kids club managers (standard protocol for newcomers), we left him for about an hour on the 2nd day, hoping he'd be ok, since he's a bit shy at first. When we returned, he didn't want to leave! We ended up taking him every day of the trip-at HIS request! My husband and I got to have a date night almost every night of the trip after enjoying a nice family dinner together, which was wonderful and totally unexpected. The kids club was immaculate, and every staff member was friendly, warm, engaged, and remembered our child by name. The various activities and themes each night were SO fun for him and perfectly age appropriate. It was honestly the best surprise of the whole trip, and he's already asking about when he can go back :) The commitment to cleanliness everywhere we went on the ship was extremely impressive. While I'm sure that extra precautions were being taken because we happened to sail the week after the norovirus outbreak, our nerves were quickly put to rest. I recall a few evenings when we were heading back to our stateroom and the janitorial staff were literally washing down the walls in the hallway. The restrooms around the ship were completely spotless morning, noon, and night, no matter how busy. I can't recall even one instance when I walked in to a ladies room and there was a piece of trash on the floor-amazing considering just how many guests were aboard. The cleanliness and ease of use with regard to the pools and activities onboard were another awesome layer of our vacation. Pools rarely felt crowded, even on sea days, and the incredible number of lifeguards, pool attendants, and deck attendants really helped us to relax and enjoy. All of the equipment was in great condition, and the pool areas like the rest of the ship were constantly being cleaned. Common areas never felt crowded either, and we never had an issue with finding a place to sit. I'd be remiss not to also mention another excellent experience we had with the medical facility. Our 4 year old son was unfortunately running on the pool deck with some new friends and slipped and fell, and hit his head. Concerned about a possible concussion, we quickly rushed him down to the medical deck-but as soon as it happened there were no fewer than FIVE RC employees right there to assist us. We couldn't believe it. One of them escorted us to the medical deck, where we signed in and were immediately assessed by a nurse. After a 5 minute wait we were seen by a very sweet doctor who carefully examined our son and ran some tests. Thankfully he was completely fine, and we were met by a security manager who took a detailed account of the incident and then walked us back up to our spot by the pool, where he had me explain to him what happened AND took pictures of the area. Obviously good business sense on their end, as an issue like this could present a potential liability, but it was clear that they took the situation seriously and were so kind and caring. We could not have been more impressed with the way in which the incident was handled all around. The entertainment on the ship was fabulous. The performers were all obviously very highly trained, and the production value of the shows, particularly the ice skating show, far surpassed our expectations. Seating was ample, and none of the shows ever felt crowded. Lastly, a major highlight of our trip was membership in the Key program, which we purchased prior to the trip. We figured that in comparing the cost of the internet packages alone, that the Key program seemed worth the nominal upgrade-and we could not have been more right. Our welcome lunch at the specialty restaurant Chops Grille on the first day of our trip was an amazing way to start our vacation, and premier seating at all of the shows was great. The best part of this program came on the last day, when the ship felt the most crowded with everyone trying to figure out where to go to exit the ship. We followed the instructions and arrived at a thankfully EMPTY! hallway, that led to a beautiful private dining room we hadn't yet seen. I can't think of a better way to start a long day of travel than with a leisurely breakfast of filet mignon, eggs, and gorgeous pastries. At the end of our meal, we were personally escorted to a private exit, and it was truly a wonderful way to end the trip. Thank you Royal Caribbean, for your incredible commitment to doing the right thing as a business by consistently making decisions that put your customers first, and doing everything in your power to give your guests extraordinary travel experiences and memories to last a lifetime. My family and I had such a wonderful time that we booked our next cruise on the 5th day of our trip for next January, and we are counting the minutes already! THANK you, sincerely, for everything!
