We have just completed our first trip with this cruise line and I was very impressed with this company, cruise ship and it's crew. Yes, this cruise had some issues (Panama Canal), but more importantly, is how problems were handled. It was a pleasure and very exceptional to cruise with a company that really put their passengers first. Those in charge of this ship were generally concerned and worked hard to assure that everyone received a great experience. The food was very good and well presented. My husband, would be happy with just hamburgs/hot dogs as he is just a meat and potato man!! The cabins are lovely, large in size, complete with a large bathroom and shower. There is a small TV (19 inch) in each cabin. If traveling where there is no signal or if you wish something else to watch, their are many DVD's available. Upon arrival, you will not say "WOW" to this ship's beauty, but it is very pretty, designed and decorated in good taste. The ship is quite and you just enjoy. The ship's day time to touring events was perfect, allowing all to pace their day to their comfort level. If assistance was required, as many were of an older age, it was provided quickly and with pleasure.....everyone was included. They arranged very good buses for transport and had excellent tour guides, tours were well paced. The on board lecturer was GREAT....the room was always packed with everyone very excited about the talk and with great anticipation for the next program. The passengers were very friendly, well traveled and full of wonderful life experiences that they shared during each evening's cocktail time. Each evening, following dinner, there is some entertainment with the evening raped up by approximately 9:30pm. We enjoyed our trip and plan to cruise with this line in the future. Read Less

The crew on the ship is outstanding. Having arrived much too early at the terminal, we were greeted by the hotel director Akin who went to the ship and returned with coffee and pastries to make us feel welcome while we waited. The same attention to detail continued throughout the cruise from the entire staff. Besides being attentive to the passengers, the crew seemed to get along very well with each other, which speaks well for the management. The cabin was larger than expected , very well furnished and refreshed at least twice per day. The bathroom was very well designed with adequate space for all our needs, plenty of drawer and counter space. We never felt that we needed more closet or drawer space. Dining was always an enjoyable experience with open seating, allowing us to meet plenty of new friends. Food was quite good as well, with enough options for any palate. The 1/2 portion option is a nice idea. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices (love the lox). Besides the buffet, there was always a nice selection of pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. Shore excursion were well chosen, but it was also nice to be able, if one chose, to remain on the ship and enjoy the very comfortable lounges, possibly to take in one of the lectures by the very knowledgeable and enjoyable Dr. Jim. Besides the staff on the ship, we need to thank those in the office ( Maxine is great ) for helping to make this such a memorable trip. Read Less

We boarded the Pearl Mist in Toronto, the start of a 10 day Cruise of all the Great Lakes with the exception of Superior. Like everything on the Pearl Mist, the boarding process was simple and easy, nothing like the frustrating process on mega-liners. Throughout the Cruise the environment was relaxed and friendly, and the open schedule at meal times gave us opportunities to exchange stories and experiences with many well seasoned travelers. Evening entertainment was very low key, just a guitar and a piano, but every day we listened to a Presentation about our destination for the next day...it's history, it's culture, geology and wildlife, etc. We found it very interesting. The places we visited covered sizes over the full range, from Detroit to Parry Sound. Our Cruise ended in Chicago, where the Tour Director and Staff showed their energy by coping well with a last minute change in Dock location If you are looking for something quite different from typical Cruises, this is a good choice Read Less
