Do not select a cabin on deck four that is close to the tender boat gangway. Tendering set up was very noisy plus our room suffered from a number of irritating noises day and night. Our stateroom was by far the dirtiest that we have experienced in over 35 cruises (eg grape stems on the carpet from previous occupants, dust balls beside and under the bed that stuck to socks and our suitcases that we stored under the bed). We didn't mind the lifeboat outside the windows. We were never in the cabin in the daytime very much, since we were off the boat on excursions. There are two windows at this cabin so plenty of light and the room was a very nice size. Cabin steward was excellent, too. Cabin was down the hall from O'Sheehan's so great location and near stairs and elevators. But nice and quiet, too. Read Less

THE CABIN : We were staying in cabin number 4596, an outside (Porthole) room. What we didn’t realised was that this cabin was 2 cabins from the embarkation/disembarkation door where passengers are getting on/off the ship, blocking the doors to our room a lot. This was a bonus to us in some ways but had more inconveniences than conveniences. Although we were lucky enough that we did not need to use the medical centre, this was also very convenient to us being right on the door step. However, the crew door was also situated right opposite our cabin door; we were woken daily at 4.00 am by the crew noisily getting about their early morning duties. Read Less

The handicapped accessible outside cabin was very roomy, although the third person bunk above the bed was ALWAYS in the way, especially when sleeping on the bed beneath. I cracked my skull on it at least 3 times.

Our Steward, Mel was very quiet... Everything was well set up... we never knew he was even around. bed turned down at night, always fresh towels....I know the TV had only a few channels, but met out needs when we retired for the evening....and the big thing.. If you have been told to just book a balcony, save your money and get an Oceanview or Inside Cabin room, as you really only are in your room for a small percentage of the day.... NOTHING RATTLED Some cruise rooms have had noticable vibration or bad location, but not this one.. Read Less
