We chose this cruise based upon the week we were traveling and the NY location These are a list of things you should be made aware of: ~ As we boarded the ship we witnessed an entire crate holding luggage fall into The Hudson River. The fork lift operator did not secure the cart before lowering it. We believe this was the cause of us being a few hours late to depart and cannot even imagine what those poor passengers had to deal with after their luggage soaked in such filthy water (which we seen with our own eyes). ~ Our first stop in Florida we were delayed 3.5 to 4 hours and therefore did not get to our day at the beach until 5pm. We were not offered an apology or a choice to cancel our excursion and were still charged full price. We made the best of it, things happen sometimes and we know that. ~ Our second stop was to Great Stirrup Cay which we were really looking forward to. AN ENTIRE DAY AT THE BEACH after only an hour the day before. Come to find out there was only 2 tenders to remove some 3000+ guests and it took us 2.5 hours standing in line (in a HOT hallway) with angry passengers before we finally got on a tender. We were "assigned" tender 8 after waiting in the guest services line with all the other frustrated vacationers but we luckily did not wait until we were called, we jumped in line waited 2 and a half hours and it did not matter because there was no such thing as tender tickets!!!!!! WHAT????? The other poor people did not get off the ship until 2:30 and there was no food left for them to eat. An absolute disaster for being a private island and not having more tenders. AGAIN - we made the most of it and at least got 3 hours in at the beach. We also were not allowed to rent an umbrella on the beach but luckily one of the other guests offered us his. ~ Our last stop was The Bahama's and luckily no problems were experienced there as we spent a fortune to spend the day at Atlantis and had a good time! On Board these are a few of the things we noticed and cannot help but compare to other cruise lines. ~ The entire trip it seemed almost all areas were understaffed. We came across 3 very public piles of vomit that were not at all being tended to. One at the Garden Cafe we noticed while having lunch. We looked at the table empty beside us only see someone had gotten sick and instead of it being cleaned up the staff just tilted chairs over it to cover it up. GROSS! Once in the hallway by our rooms my friend witnessed someone throwing up and called housekeeping to let them know but it was not cleaned up for a good 2 hours. All the while kids/people walking up and down the hall and either stepping in it or jumping over it! AGAIN GROSS and completely unsanitary considering my friend called to report it. The third occasion was up on the 17th pool deck in one of the public handicapped showers. I went in to cool off only to be told by another passenger not to go in there because someone had gotten sick and no one was around to clean it up. ~ The soap dispensers in every public rest room were impossible to get soap from. It was not just my experience but everyone in my group and other guests commented the same. To the point that the onboard comedian even had it as part of his show. How in the world (when it is SO VITAL to stop spreading germs) do you not have soap dispensers that work?? ~ The ship was constantly dirty. Outside by the pool decks, the counters in the main lobby, bars and the floors in the elevators were SO GROSSLY STICKY. Again, it was like they were extremely under staffed. ~ The food was, in all honestly, just edible not enjoyable. I understand it is hard to have a buffet for 3000+ guest but it was not just in the buffet. The free style dining rooms were just mediocre. We luckily had 3 specialty dinning meals and they were excellent, but thought the pricing for kids (not included in the dining package) was obnoxiously expensive. Each family had 2 kids and charging $36.00 per child and an automatic 20% gratuity is just ridiculous. And to not even have a different kids menu in each restaurant was just crazy. My poor kids ate burgers all week because I could not see spending $50 per kid knowing they eat like birds. What kid’s meal costs $36???? Nowhere will you ever find a place charging $36+ for a kid’s meal that is unfairly overpriced for the amount of food a child would eat. ~ The ice cream up in the Garden Cafe never really worked and it was more of a milk shake than soft ice cream. It was never fully frozen. ~ Unlimited drinks should include EVERYTHING and not up-charges for different brands. That is just false advertising all around. I've never ever been on a cruise that charged extra for different brands. ~ The staff and crew did not appear to know anything at all. We constantly were told things that made no sense or were directed to the Box Office, but they were not open and no one else could help us. Anyone at Guest Services (IN MY OPINION) should be able to answer any question. That was never the case. We spent a lot of time up there in line to ask questions only to feel clueless and a complete waste of time. The one gentleman told us we were charged for Burn the House when in fact we were being charged for a different show. It was not just one experience, but any experience we had asking staff a question it was like it was their first week of work. ~ The kids club! We were traveling with 4 kids. Two 11 year olds and two 9 year olds. Every piece of documentation we read before selecting and booking this cruise had two age groups for the kids club and once on board there were 3 groups and our kids had to be separated. We asked multiple times if our two 9 year olds (who will be 10 next month) could go with their older siblings and were told NO WAY AT ALL. Again, this was a horrible experience for us as we went with another family and our kids wanted to be together. Of course the only time they could be together was at 10:30pm and we would have to pay per kids. No flexibility at all. You should update the information so people know that before booking. ~ We stood in line for an hour and a half that Saturday we arrived to book tickets for shows and had our reservations given away to standby before the show even started. If you make a 7pm reservation you should not have to be there by 6:30 or lose your tickets. That makes NO SENSE. You should then tell us the reservation is for 6:30 and not seven. Again 4 disappointed parents and kids. Obviously it goes without saying that a lot of money and planning went into this trip and to say we were disappointed and at times absolutely disgusted is an understatement. I could not help but to compare it to my most recent cruise on Royal Caribbean (11 months ago) and my other cruising history and hands down Norwegian was a total disappointment compared to the others. I would never cruise with Norwegian again and or recommend to anyone else interested in cruising. Read Less

I planned the cruise 3 weeks ahead of time for spring break with my husband. We both have never been on a cruise. We disembarked from our port hours later than expected but we didn’t care exploring the ship was fun. The cruise went from NY to Port Carnaval FL, great stirrup cay and Nassau Bahamas. Total of 7 nights. We arrived late for every port, coming back home we were early. Here’s some PROS: 1. The buffet is the way to go- tons of options, nearly anytime completely free. I had a happy belly the whole vacation 2. Drinks are perfect- I barely drink and if I do it’s a straight shot. All mixed drinks were perfect 3. Enough activities on board to not get bored 4. Staff are amazing!- cleaning, customer service and dining 5. My balcony room was bigger than in the picture! 6. Disability persons were accommodated to the highest level I’ve ever seen. 7. The free entertainment like ‘burn the floor’ and the levity group (comedy) deserve money because they were so good! CONS (to me): 1. Drinking package and food packages- must be bought for all days of the cruise even if you want to buy a few days in 2. Activities on board are literally this: bingo, deal or no deal, activities staff come up with (the activities the staff came up with are the most fun because the whole audience is involved) 3. Too many children- children in the hot tubs splashing water, hogging seats they don’t use for over a hour, making a mess in the buffet every minute. 4. Disembarkation to destination- Unclear and ill managed. Sometimes you needed a reservation to disembark or first come first serve. The guests were not notified until the day of. 5. Safe opened said E BAR randomly. Suspicious. My take: I spent nearly 2,000 on a vacation that I didn’t believe was worth it. I called the hotline for all my questions, deals available and concerns to avoid any mix ups. Bottom line: once you’re on the ship, they want you to spend. I enjoyed it, I wouldn’t go without a large group (best deals for large groups) TIPS: 1. Your vacation isn’t the destination ITS THE CRUISE so choose a cruise you believe has activities, amenities you want call the hotline and be direct with what you want. 2. Cruises have family friendly and adults only so if you’re like me do some research and assure you have quiet time. 3. Cruises are best in large groups, they do have solo traveler benefits but imagine playing bingo by yourself... Read Less

Choose this week because we were off from school. Big mistake, crew couldn't handle the amount of people. Getting on the tender was a horrible process. Long and again not enough staff. Once off the ship the ports were very nice. Spent time on there private Island. Nice, wish we had more time there. Dining was good, the food was good. Paid extra for the restaurants which were very good. There was hand sanitizer everywhere. I was thankful for that and the staff reminding you to wash when entering the buffet. Entertainment was ok, didn't get to see much. Too many children allowed in the adult pool and hot tubs. Seems like no rules were followed. Rooms were tiny and our carpet was filthy. Shower seems small, my guess it was the door instead of a curtain. Hot water was great. We always had very hot water. Will cruise again, not so sure on Norwegian. Read Less

Had a great time on this Mom and Son trip!! Cabin was great. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of storage. Love my balcony, its the only way to go!! Although the cruise was packed we were still able to move about easily. We had an excellent room attendant Victor. He was super friendly and did a great job on our room. We loved the Gourmet dining, especially Tempeyakki and Cagney's, excellent food and service. My son went to the Entourage teen club. He said the counselors were really nice and there were lots of activities he liked. Entourage has a cool vibe with lots of color. Most importantly to my son, was the no parents allowed policy. He made lots of friends his age and they made plans to keep in touch. Great Job NCL and we will see you again in July with the whole family, 17 of us :) Read Less

Mind you I am writing this review based on this being my second NCL cruise experience. The ship was NCL’s Getaway.....the ship itself is a step down a tier from the Escape. This really being because the ship was a bit a smaller. One big upset for me being on the ship was the painters (yes you heard me right) and I’m not talking about the the artist from the art auction. Seeing the “wet paint” signs throughout the balcony’s and various parts of the ship were not attractive sights. The crew was really patching up throughout while we were on board and became obvious once we were returning to the ship from our first docking. Seeing the crew in white jump suits painting the balcony areas was interesting. Now, as for the cabin, my partner and I stayed in a stateroom with a balcony view. These rooms are pretty spacious I do have to say and are pretty much identical to their sister ship ESCAPE. The beds were comfortable, the, room was clean and cleaned regularly when asked. One small detail missed was our pool towels that were not setup in our room. We had to ask 3 times for them, and actually finally received them day 3 when I reached out to another steward. Overall we were satisfied with the room. I traveled with a party of 16 total. We had 6 dining packages included with our cruise. I will break down our dining experience per reservation: 1.) Cagneys- great wine selection, great food (lamb chops cooked to perfection), servers were very attentive. We actually did cagneys twice. 2.) Ocean Blue- now we were all very excited to try this one out as this was a new one introduced. And honestly I was more impressed with the staff and the dessert (basil sorbet), but that’s about it. With everyone in the party except 4 people, 12 of us were not so thrilled with the food. We originally set 2 reservations for this place and ended up cancelling the 2nd one and chose to dine somewhere else. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t a go-back-to-place for seafood. 3.) Teppanyaki- it’s fun!! The food was awesome (shrimp and steak) super flavorful, the service was awesome!! You seriously can’t go wrong with this one! Entertaining for both adults and kids. We did this twice!! Now on to the regular eateries: 1.) Margaritaville- my lord this was terrible. You pay out of pocket for this one. You pay to be seated and pay for your drinks regardless of the drink package... and the food.....definitely doesn’t deserve a review. For something so well known, it failed in my book. 2.) Shanghai Noodle Bar- I was looking forward to this also. Sitting at the bar gives you the feel of being at a noodle bar in Shanghai sort of. You sit right up against the glass the overlooks the cooks, each of them singing and smiling. It was nice. The food was ok. I enjoyed the Spicey seafood bowel, and the potstickers! Yum! The noodles were a bit undercooked for my taste. The rice was not so much different from the buffet, not bad but also not amazing. Overall I liked this place. It does get packed so you have to make sure you are prepared to wait if you are in a larger party. 3.)O’shehanns- this was our go to place whenever we had nothing to do and no one would make a decision. I love and hate this place in a good way. Drinks are quick, the food is typical bar food... it’s a pub in itself. And it overlooks the atrium so you can get a seat looking down at the entertainment. Entertainment wise, the shows were awesome! The steampunk circus act was really cool. The comedy show from what i heard from our traveling companions was fun y, funnier with more drinks in you. :). We did not make it to the broadway-esque performance but heard it was good. I love the Deal or No Deal days. Everyone is so involved. And the newlywed/not so newlywed shows were hilarious! I know the staff try their best to keep up with everyone. However, what fell really short for me was the repetitive songs and dancing that the crew almost forcefed you if you were in the same area as them. I wanted to shoot myself. It’s almost as if they had no other ideas, but to put everything on repeat. I had to leave areas because it was killing the vibe. The nightclub Bliss was fun. The DJ’s each night did a great job catering to request. The drinks were stiff and never lacking in timeliness served. One huge concern i had overall throughout the bars was the absurd amount of teens bombarding the areas. Huge chunk of them were nowhere close to 18 years old. Security had to constantly intervene in areas to check ID’s and kick them out. I guess it can’t be helped when you stray away from your parents, but I would have certainly appreciated a bit more attention from the security aspect to ensure these kids didn’t get into any of those areas. The casino, definitely took some change from us. We had a blast gambling on board. Definitely a good down time if you have the money to spend. Cruisers beware, you can charge it all to the room!! Hahahahah. Our service on board was good and boarderline pretty good. I can say that I definitely encountered at least 2 staff members each day on this 7 day cruise that looked like they hated everyone on board. Poor things. But none the less I was pleased with everyone else!!! Now, as for the itinerary, we did the Western Caribbean which included ports: Roatan Honduras, Harvest Cay Belieze, Costa Maya, and Cozumel............ out of each stop my favorites were Honduras and Costa Maya each was cost effective and really pretty. The one draw back from these 2 were the locals in your face on the beach trying to selling you everything under the sun. But if you looked past all that, the views were amazing and the waters were gorgeous!! If you are in Roatan (West Bay Bananarama) did not miss a beat. Now, the place i was not so impressed with other than the lush vegetation was NCLs private island in Belize. Over priced is pretty much all I can say. The beaches sand was rough. Like gritty seashell, peoples and sand all in one. I was not impressed. The plus side though, the pool area looked prettt, and the zip line from the lighthouse was fun. If you don’t want to spend much, you’re better off staying on ship. The final dock was Cozumel. We ended up in Pardise Resort. This was fun for the kids and fam. They literally had a bunch of floating inflatable obstacle courses for the kids out on the ocean water. This was fun to watch as the adults were launching these kids up in the air when landing on a blown up mat. Anyone could buy an all day pass for this floating fun for i believe 35$ now for the adults that wanted to drink and eat there is an all inclusive 65$ deal. We certainly outdrank and ate here. Ha. If you paid the 65$ you also got a good discount to rent the water gear(paddle boards, snorkeling, canoes..etc) or if you wanted to keep it simple and just rent a chair it was 3$ per person. The pool was also a great place to getaway if you did not want to spend time on the beach. This is simplified..... the cruise was good. But I would not choose this itinerary again. Most of our group got a little sick from something. None of us could pinpoint where actually but we did. 2 of my party ended up in the infirmary and because of the boom booms, they were on isolation for 24 hours, resulting them to miss 1 whole day confined in their cabin. :( not to scare those away though. This was a fun cruise. It was a vacation! But I would definitely suggest doing your research before choosing. It maybe what you are looking for. Ultimately your decision. Read Less

My daughter & I traveled with a few other families for a Senior Spring Break trip & had a great time. Attended Cirque show which was fun. Dined in Tropicana a few times which was good too & loved being able to eat whatever time we wanted w/ freestyle. We used our other SPD's at Tappenyaki & La Cucina and were pleased. Wish we could have gotten into Ocean Blue but they were full towards the end of the week. Our group enjoyed H2O Spice adult deck during the day. (be sure to get a chair early anywhere on sea days). Loved having the drink pkg and enjoyed Margaritaville drinks. The whole ship was clean and had a huge variety of things to do. Elevators worked great even though it was a full ship it didn't seem too crowded overall. Not a fan of O'Sheehan food but the Garden buffet was great for quick breakfast & lunch with lots of variety. Most team members were friendly but the bartenders were really flat. Roatan was fun as we had a full day excursion that we booked outside of Norwegian. The private island at Belize was beautiful. We got there early and had some great seats near the pool where we spent the whole day. Wish they had more variety for beer bucket (only had 8oz Heiniken cans or draft to pick from) A little pricey but glad the locals get to benefit from all the passengers. We found a great little beach club (Pez Quadro/40 Canons boutique hotel) at Costa Maya to spend the day and the port shops were plentiful and even a pool in the middle. The girls saw a mexican wrestling show which was hilarious. Not a fan of Cozumel but the girls wanted to experience the rite of passage at Senor Frogs. We also enjoyed the deck parties with themes: 80's, Glow & Farewell. I would definitely use Norwegian again! Read Less

We wanted to be on the cruise on our anniversary, so we selected this cruise. We usually go on smaller ships, such as the Pearl, but there were none available from Miami on our dates. We were pleasantly surprised by the Getaway. The staff and crew were fantastically friendly and accommodating. The ship was very upbeat, and we were able to find quiet areas, although it was spring break. Our cabin steward was the best we have ever had, and we’ve been on 25 cruises. We loved the Ice Bar, and enjoyed Fat Cat’s and the Headliner. We liked the Trivia contests, the various competitions, the Tropicana for dinner, and everything about the ship’s set up. Our only two suggestions would be to have more shows in the theater. The same shows kept repeating. Also, the shows in the Atrium were great, but seating was not available. Maybe these should have been in the theater. We did not take any shore excursions. We visited Roatan by taxi, and enjoyed the chocolate factory. The guide there was very knowledgeable. Harvest Key had something for everyone, including giant chess and checkers games and zip lines. Read Less

We chose this cruise because our daughter's friends were going for their senior trip and she wanted to go also so we decided to make it a family vacation. We had the best vacation ever. The staff was excellent. Very attentive all the time. The food was excellent also and servers were over the top excellent. The ship was beautiful. We have no complaints at all. Our cabin was a mini-suite with large balcony with four of us in the room and it was a nice size space. There was a lot more space than I expected for storage. Staff that took care of our cabin was excellent. Entertainment was good. Our cruise director, Vincent was awesome! He was very entertaining. We did snorkeling in Harvest Caye and were somewhat disappointed. The water was not clear and we didn't see very many fish. We didn't realize there is a beautiful pool and beach that is free in Harvest Caye. I would highly recommend planning time there. At Roatan, Honduras we did the Gumbalimba Park and really enjoyed that then they took us to Tabyana beach. That was very nice also. Costa Maya we didn't plan any excursions and just did some shopping. Cozumel was a lot of fun. We did Fury catamaran snorkeling. I would highly recommend this excursion. The water was very clear and we saw a lot of colorful fish. The crew was lively with drinks and dancing on the ride back. We had 2 teenagers with us so they also enjoyed going to Senior Frogs. We had a lot of fun there. I can't think of anything bad to say about our cruising experience with Norwegian on the Getaway. We were very impressed! Read Less

Entertainment and activities on the boat are HORRIBLE! only 3 Free shows and the rest we have to pay and its expensive, all the shows last no more than 30 min, you have to make reservations for the comedy show and the reservation place is always closed, the free activities are performed in a very small places so just a few people fit in it. Excursion are very expensive in the ship, i recommend you get off the boat and buy the excursion from the locals. and excursion on the boat cost $120.00 per person, we got the same excursion for $40 per person from the locals, same excursion! This is an expensive cruise line and nothing its included. Once again the food is better than other cruise lines but that's it! Read Less

NCL Getaway - Getting on the boat was a breeze, however, parking at the port was not fun. We liked the Layout of boat as there was many places onboard to explore. The Waterfront walk was really nice! The activities for my teens was great and we enjoyed the ports of calls though the boarding time could have been later In Cozumel. However we did not like that we had to pay extra for entertainment (shows). For a seven night cruise only two free evening shows were provided. Those two shows were too-notch but the other shows cost extra which we have never experienced on other cruise lines. Also with the Freestyle dining, I felt that the waiters in the dining rooms were like robots with no personality. Also the specialty dining at La Cucina was below average. We might as well have be in a main dining room as the experience and food quality was the same and we had to pay ala.carte for my teenagers who were not included in our package. We also encountered a snotty female shore excursion desk worker from USA that was rude and acted like us asking questions was interrupting her day. On a positive note, the cruise director, Vincent, was awesome and the poolside activities were fun and as expected on most cruises. I think they need to have more shopping on the boat as I felt it was very limited as compared to RC Allure of the Seas which has a whole promonade for shopping. NCL also needs soda machines for kids with the soda package as having to have your 13 year old go to the bar to get a soda was strange. The Garden cafe staff, the entourage staff and the waiter, Victoria, in Fat Cats were the only friendly staff on the boat (besides Vincent). Read Less

Ship is in excellent shape. However, it was too crowded and the number of passengers on the ship was too many for the amenities available. The pool area on the top deck was always super busy and it was very difficult to get a chair. The adult pool is very small. I don't think the layout on the top deck is very good. There is also a smoking area with open doors so one could smell the smoke when walking by it on the way the the buffet Garden Cafe restaurant. I hope Norwegian ban all smoking on their ships soon. Lots of restaurants and food in general was excellent. No complaints here at all. Cabin was good for 2 adults and 1 12-year old child. Balcony was small but still usable. Washroom is usable by a single person at a time. The service was excellent throughout. The ship waited 15-20 minutes past scheduled departure time as there were cruisers coming back late to the ship every port we went to. Some people are so inconsiderate. Shore excursions were a mixed bag. In Roatan, we went to the Gambalimba animal preserve where you get to have big parrots and little monkeys sit on top of your head, shoulders and arms; lots of fun. Also went to Tabyana beach. Beach itself was beautiful but there are lots of locals trying to sell you stuff. In Harvest Caye we stayed at the resort by the port, which has a huge swimming pool and a nice beach. Be prepared to overpay big time for food and drinks here or go back to the ship ( a short 10-minute walk) for free food. In Costa Maya the water park was fun with ziplining and lazy river. In Cozumel, we did Fury Catamarans snorkling and beach excursion. Snorkling was a joke with about 80 people thrown into the water and bumping into one another for 20 minutes. They should not advertise this as snorkling as you hardly get to do any of it. The boat ride, which took about half the time of the excursion, was actually fun and the private beach (you get about an hour there) was beautiful. Disembarkation was very smooth and we were off the ship in less than 20 minutes. I highly recommend you choose the option where you carry your own luggage out of the ship. We also arranged with Norwegian for airport transportation, which took about 20 minutes. We were at the airport by 8:40 am. Overall, a fun trip with excellent service from the staff and delicious food but the timing in mid March seems to be bad as the ship was overcrowded. Also, the pool area on the ship is not good at all and shore excursions are a hit and miss. Read Less

The Norwegian Western Caribbean cruise on the Getaway was the perfect itinerary to take our son on spring break from college. We knew we wanted a top class cruising experience with lots of entertainment, great food and many excursion options. We took advantage of three of the specialty dining options: The Brazilian steak house, the Italian Restaurant and the Seafood Restaurant. All were excellent food. The servers could have been trained with a more fine dining experience, but overall they were all excellent choices. We also attended the Wine Musical Experience and loved it. For entertainment, we watched Burn the Floor, Million Dollar Quartet, Dueling Piano Bar, Comedy and an art auction. We all thought Dueling Piano Bar was the only disappointment. I think Norwegian could find better talent. We also tried out the Karaoke one evening but didn't last more than a few songs. They need to make the Karaoke adults only after a certain time in the evening, too many little kids. The cabin was ample space with a great bathroom for a cruise ship. The shower was spacious and there was plenty of hot water. The storage was excellent and accommodated the four of us without any issues. We loved the Spice H2O area for adults only. The only recommendation would be to add more deck staff to take drink orders and eliminate the smoking area where the bar is located. As a non-smoker, it is quite unpleasant to have to wait at the bar for a drink when people around you are smoking. It is a lung irritant for me and it would be courteous to eliminate the smoking from the Spice H2O altogether. I don't mind there being smoking areas on the ship. But, they need to be located where other patrons don't wish to spend their time. We would have also spent more time in the casino, but again, too much cigarette smoke. The ports of call were great. We enjoyed the Snorkeling Catamaran Lunch tour in Roatan. It was the best snorkeling! In Harvest Caye, we enjoyed a day on the beach sunbathing and relaxing. In Costa Maya, we went to the ruins, which I highly recommend. In Cozumel, we ventured to the other port and shopped and had lunch. We used Norwegian for booking our flights, transfers and insurance. I wouldn't do it any other way. The flights were a great price, the transfer between the ship and airport were convenient and it was nice having everything taken care of in one transaction. We had a great cruise and look forward to another soon! Read Less

We had 14148 (Spa Balcony) and it was by far the nosiest cabin I have ever stayed in - due to the main deck being above, along with ping pong tables, stairs to upper decks (external) and storing point for sun loungers in the evening - bang bang thud thud from 0600 until 2300 every night - eventually we got moved to 14210 - and a nice onboard credit - apparently no one has ever complained about the noise, but even the hotel director was somewhat surprised by the noise generated. Once moved 14210 was quieter, but didnt negate the noise from the pool deck - heavy footed people and kids running around just reveberates through the floor / ceiling. So where possible avoid DECK 14 (Haven suites are fine btw - further fwd and not under main deck area) Otherwise a great cruise, Casino was very smokey - unlike the Bliss which is totally smoke free. Food top notch - boarding was great and getting off was the quickest ever at Miami - leaving the ship to getting a taxi took no more than 15minutes !!! (british passport too) so well impressed with that. H2O nice place to chill out during sea days - plenty of loungers around the ship - but key spots reserved early on (like 6am) !! Brazilian and Cagneys speciality dining was excellent. Cruise director on this voyage was rather bland, and maybe over selling himself - struggled to understand him at times - and just didnt really have the flare and charisma as others on the the NCL ships. Finally, parts of the ship are showing wear and tear - toilets in O'sheehans were riddled with flies (Small fruit kind of ones) brought it to cleaners attention - but still there.....:-( I think its due a refurb this year (2019) so should bring it back up to scratch. Remember though DECK 14 avoid !!! You have been warned. :-) OH and i almost forgot - BURN THE FLOOR is an absolute MUST - so login to your cruise and reserve a seat or 2 now !! simply amazing. (Top tip try and get front row seat in centre) you will see why :-) Read Less

We had taken cruises before during the first two weeks in March so we thought we knew what to expect, but we were mistaken. This one was much more crowded and "lively". Looking back, I realize that our earlier cruises were either on lines catering to a more mature clientele, or were longer than 1 week duration, or left from more exotic ports, like Puerto Rico. This time we were leaving from Miami on a 1 week cruise, and the ship was packed. Lots of parents with young children and young adults looking to have fun, most of them with the beverage package. The weather was perfect, so absolutely everyone was on deck making it very difficult to get around and impossible to find a chair to recline on. That said, I had a great time. The staff was great, especially considering the crowds. The positive side of all the people was that events like Karaoke were well attended, with lots of people willing to get up and sing. Unfortunately, you could put in multiple requests, and the DJ didn't seem to be able to organize the rotation fairly. The same people got called again and again even though there were new singers waiting their turn. Even more unfortunately, a couple of these "regulars" were tone deaf and had no rhythm. Seeing someone like that is a hoot once, but when they get called up for the 3rd or 4th time, it was time to leave. Still, there were a lot of folks that could carry a tune that it was pleasant to cheer them on when they got up the courage to give it a try. The bandaoke was great, taking place on the pool deck with literally hundreds of people cheering the singers on. The entertainment was good, and for the most part very accessible. I've take this same ship on a transatlantic repositioning cruise, and you could not get into the theater, the piano shows or the comedy show unless you had booked immediately after boarding. This time the shows were popular, but you could still get in without waiting in a standby line. The chairs in the theater are still the most uncomfortable on any ship I've sailed on, but at least I could always get a waiter to bring me a drink, so I was fine. We like going for a drink before dinner, and unfortunately, it was only on the 4th day we realized that the "waterfront" area was the best place to do this, with comfortable chairs and a bars that were much more accessible than most of the others. When we did the transatlantic cruise, it was too cold and windy to use this area, so we had forgotten it existed. In warm calm weather, it is a delight. I went on all the attractions such as the rock climbing wall, ropes course and waterslides, and had a great time. Note that you can't wear ANY jewellery at all on the "free fall" waterslide, even a wedding ring, if you can't get yours off, you won't be able to do it. Harvest Caye was very enjoyable. I didn't go to the beach, but I enjoyed the pool, and unlike on the ship, there was plenty of room. I also did the zip line and loved it. I must say I was a little nervous, but the folks running it were extremely professional and I felt very safe. We did the Gumbalimba park tour in Honduras, and really enjoyed to monkeys and parrots. in the two Mexican stops, we didn't do any tours, but enjoyed the ship's amenities while the crowds were ashore. The NCL Free Style experience was a welcome deviation from our past experiences. Specialty restaurants exceeded our expectations. Cagneys, Ocean Blue and Modernos. Sea Days were crowded. The Haven seems to take a lot of space for the few. Spa was a nice amenity. We were upgraded and would probably pay to utilize the thermal suite. Plus it’s limited so a great way to escape the crowds on Sea days. One pool for non Haven guests is a poor design. Chair hogs were out early. NCL did not enforce any rules regarding reserving. Drink package excludes bottled water and coffee. Ship food and drink package not extended in Harvest Caye- felt we were double charged. Most of the crowd went back to the ship. $18 for two draft beers is a bit excessive. On board shopping is limited. Mojito bar was great along with all others. Outdoor seating was nice. Comedy shows, Cirque (paid) we’re all entertaining. We did our own excursions so cannot speak to NCLs offerings. We now added another cruise line to our options list. Read Less

This was one of the best cruises I have been on. Loved the ship, the shows and the excursions we did. Cirque show, even though there was an up charge, was awesome. Same with Wine Lovers the musical. Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet are must see shoes. We chose to do our own excursions since the boat charges so much. We did Best of Roatan with Victor Bodden tours. Got to hold a sloth and monkeys. In Costa Maya we went to Choccobon ruins and to a resort with Native choice. We went to Chankanaab in Cozumel and swam with the dolphins. The private island, Harvest Caye was just ok. A lot of seaweed on the beach. Probably wouldn’t get off the boat next time. I hope there is a next time. I thought the cruise director, Poketo, was very funny. My room was 11450. A little loud when docking because it was all the way in front of the ship. Read Less

The service was good. The room was kept clean and orderly on our schedule. The food staff and the bust boys were always courteous. The busy bartenders had kept their smiles up the entire duration. "Neli" rocks. The entire range of drinks they had made were terrific. Get the drinking package, it is a great investment. Made every port on-time, except one slight delay. With cooperating weather, we were able to do all of our excursion pre-purchased on the NCL website. The excursion staff on shore were friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and accommodating. The food at Ocean Blue was amazing and still quite memorable. The Teppanyaki had us laughing the entire duration with good food to follow. "Burn the Floor," has some amazing dancers, period. After a great day on shore with an excursion, the adequate time alloted for shopping, and then a great dinner at the various restaurants on the Getaway, we were able to dance and drink the night away with themed music at "H2O" every night, followed by more clubbing at "Bliss." To us, that felt like such a great bonus, a gift from the ship we had not anticipated. Compared to the previous cruise we were just on a month prior with Holland America Line, it was night and day. Wish I had a chance to review the Veendam on here with you. Overall, Norwegian Cruise Line Getaway has a much happier staff. We had felt that ship vibe from the get-go. A happier staff equals a happier trip for all of the customers on board (and returning customers). It is also a great reflection of a successful business. In the end, we had met great people who are now friends. Great photos were taken. Great memories were created. I'll forever miss the "washi-washi" hand-sanitizing girls on deck. Thanks to them we didn't get sick this time. Thank you NCL! Read Less

Now the best time we had was at dinner time in savor or taste thanks to a wonderful team who was run by a great manager mr gruden. Need to have lil more water area for younger kids. Also have more dining selections to other restaurants instead of just three. Need better food selection for room service. Should not have no additional charges if you have a package already. I read several reviews on this site before deciding to book. I normally stick with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and have 30 cruises under my belt. I've done Princess, Holland America, NCL, RCCL, and Celebrity. During and after my cruise, I was wondering if I had been on the same ship as the people who were so critical of the NCL Getaway. Granted it's not a top of the line cruiseship, but it definitely delivered great food, lots of fun things to do, a very diverse clientele, great pools and water parks, and pretty good food. So here are the things that I really liked and didn't like about my cruise as compared to what I'm used to on RCCL and Celebrity. Liked: - Self-serve soft ice cream that ALWAYS worked - The NCL mobile app is awesome on board! - The use of lights instead of cards for do not disturb, make up my room, and I'm in my room - Margaritaville - Lots of diverse bars - Quality and selection of food - The spa is definitely worth the extra money--amazingly relaxing and great place to watch - Coffee (which another reviewer said sucked) - Very few wheelchairs and motorized carts (because it's a younger group of people) - Lots of restaurants have alfresco dining on the deck (excellent idea!) - Lots of separate places for adults, children, and teens (even an adults only pool) - Breakfast pizza - 3D movies in the auditorium with free popcorn - Not having to "check out" pool towels against your room card - Harvest Caye in Belize is amazing--so huge and new! - Having the pool to myself while in port - Made to order dessert crepes in the buffet area Disliked: - Poor selection on TV (but why watch TV when you're on a cruise) - Toiletries in the room (bring your own soap and shampoo, which I always do anyway) - Having to get or buy tickets for some of the entertainment shows - Women cleaning the men's restrooms (awkward) - WiFi sucks (but it does on most ships anyway) - Fish and chips in Cagneys (I don't recommend it) I never saw stained towels like some of the reviews mentioned. My cabin was spotless and the cabin attendant was extremely responsive. Onboarding and deboarding were completely painless, smooth, and very, very quick. All in all, it was a great cruise. I booked a week before it sailed as a last-minute getaway from work and traveled alone since my partner couldn't make it. I was offered the opportunity to upgrade from an inside cabin to a balcony for a small fee, which I took and glad I did. Traveling alone worked fine. I don't like the regular restaurants that much anyway, so the buffet worked well for almost every meal. BTW, if you're into snorkeling, definitely go to the Chankanaab Beach Park in Cozumel either on your own (with a taxi) or through a shore excursion. You won't regret it. Harvest Caye in Belize was spectacular. Very modern, clean, beautifully landscaped, great beach, and amazing pool with a swim-up bar. Definitely beats Coco Cay and Labadee from RCCL. Read Less

I chosed this Cruise because the Norwegian Getaway is one of the newest ship's on water. Everything on the getaway was up to date so you get more "bang for your buck", and when I did further research on the Norwegian Cruise's I learned that the cruise line owns private Resorts at some of the locations that I attended so I felt more secure with going on this Cruise. The food at the specialty restaurants was great. I from Chicago so i really appreciated the steak houses that was on board. The vibe of the ship was great everyone on board was on the ship to relax and have a good time. The boat entertainment was on point. As many people that was on board the ship still felt comfortable in not over crowded. I'm 26 years old and i enjoyed the scenery and night life of the ship. I travel alot and this was the best way to go to multiple cities in the Caribbean, and once we docked on land there was plenty of things to do via excursions or just adventuring out on your own. I would do it again and again. Read Less

Everything about cruising is very subjective. Depending on your expectations, your experience may very greatly from mine, so this is just an opinion. To give you background this was my 2nd NCl cruise, the first being on the Jade. I have also cruise once on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas and Carnival Victory. I travelled with a party of 14 family members ranging in age from 8-60ish. We were naturally split into 2 groups of 7 as on half was my family and one half my spouse's family. So most of my review is based on my side of things, though we all got together for dinners and some tours. Embarkation was fairly easy for us. We arrived around 10-10:30 and were given boarding group 3. We boarded around 11:30 but the wait did not seem too long as everyone was excited. We had an average meal in one of the main dining rooms but by the time we were finished our rooms were ready. This was my first inside cabin. I have had balconies, and an extra large oceanview, but I actually didn't mind the inside. Aside from rarely knowing when the ship was moving, what time of day it was etc, it was fine. And sooo quiet if you don't count the somewhat annoying Bingo announcements. I worried because we were right near a crew service room of some sort but never had noise from it. My room attendant Carlo was always around. I saw him many times a day and he saved me twice when my door shut while talking to some kids in the cabin next to me. The location worked well for us to on deck 12 slightly forward. A couple decks up to the pool or buffet and down a few for food. We like the walking. In reading other reviews I was really worried about the smoke. I am super sensitive to smoke, and cannot handle being around it for long without my eyes itching/swelling and my nose burning. It really wasn't too bad. Maybe because this was a spring break cruise and there were lots of families less smokers. It was obvious when you had to walk through the casino to get somewhere, or on some of the waterfront, but at least for my sailing it was easy to avoid. The Atrium is as most of the reviews have said, poorly designed and over crowded. It is almost impossible to hear the guest service employees and really I suppose its no wonder they are less than cheerful when they are probably losing their hearing and dealing with blaring headaches. And I almost got in an argument with another cruiser over a silly chair to watch a show. ( I am super non confrontational so that's saying something). Million Dollar Quartet was very good. My brother in law's Mother in law who it was hard to tell most of the time if she was enjoying herself, was clapping, tapping her feet and cheering. She loved it. I am not a huge music fan, and I found it fun to watch anyway. Burn the Floor for me was a little boring. The Dancing was very good, but there is no storyline, just dancing over and over. and I like dancing it just was repetitive. I wish they had a show like the Elements from Jade. That one was awesome. The comics were good, but we saw the main combo show and then caught another show in headliners and the comic performing repeated the same jokes. Like exact same delivery and lines etc. Bit of a bummer and we actually got up and left which I almost never do, cause I think it is a tad rude. My husband and a couple other people regretted not having a magician. I don't like magic so I didn't care but heard the comment a few times. We had a 4 dining package as part of our group booking, and so we ate at Cagney, Teppanyaki, Moderno and Le Bistro. I liked the service the best in Le Bistro, and the best brulee of the ones I tried on the ship. It was the only time each table of 7 got their food at once. I thought the food was pretty good in all of the specialty restaurants. My 14 year old nephew really loved the meat at Moderno that was his favorite. Teppanyaki was the most entertaining for the kids, and the only one that kept the 2 youngest from getting bored. It was super salty though. The dining took way too long. 2 hours for a meal no matter where you went (except the buffet). We missed 2 of our reservations even though we had the earliest dining time, and let our waiters know. We regularly ran out of water, even in the specialty restaurants, and only once or twice had waitstaff that smiled or seemed friendly. No one was rude, just indifferent. It wasn't blatant or enough to put me off the cruiseline, just not what I was used to from any other cruise I have been on. The buffet is designed in a U shape so it is pretty easy to find food. If there is a line at one spot move around to another, it is the same on each side. I never had long lines there but the food is very repetitive for breakfast which is when we ate there. Other ships had some variety but it was exactly the same each day. Osheehans was the worst. We wanted to try them so picked a lunchtime slightly off the average but still had a long wait and the wait to get our actual food was really comically ridiculous. We should have got up and left but we had ordered and didn't want to waste. And it was very loud being near the atrium. Our fault I had read the reviews and should have known better. Hmm.. what else? The ropes course is fun, just be prepared to wait. There are only so many harnesses and it really is the cool thing to try. Never did get a chance to do the rock climbing wall. Now that I think about it, I never saw anyone do it. I wonder if it was actually open? The staff at the ropes course was friendly and comical when they made me think I weighed way more than I actually did. The slides were fun and the lines weren't too bad for those. My husband did the drop slides a few times and rarely had to wait. Lots of people would go up to do it but were wearing a bracelet or watch etc and had to go back down. The pool was always crowded during the day. And as everyone has mentioned people are chair hogs. I saw people saving chairs starting at 6 in the morning. No joke. We were always able to find a few chairs but never in shade and never close to the pool area. No real quiet areas on the ship either. Music of some sort is played almost everywhere. No one in our group drinks at all so poor Norwegian lost out. ha ha, I am sure they didn't notice. I bought one virgin Miami vice in headliners and it was pretty good. There were lines at pool bars but never made an attempt to get anything so no advice there. In Roatan we used Rony's Tours and it worked for us. We went to west bay Beach and unless you want the city tour, tell them to take the shorter route. Also be advised that they did not reserve space for us at Infinity Bay. I didn't know that was up to us to do and when we arrived they said they had no room. We found somewhere else but that could have turned into a problem. The other half of our group also used them and their van broke down, but Rony quickly got a replacement van and them made it back to the ship in time. Harvest Caye was a surprise. So many people complain about the rough sand and the over crowding and how they got bored but we were all pleasantly surprised. We got off about a half hour after the allowed and found chairs in shade right away. The sand isn't powder fine but it isn't really rough either. The water isn't crystal clear either but it is warm and clean when we were there. Probably depends on if it has rained a lot recently. The pool does get crowded but it wasn't as bad as the ship pool. I liked just having a day to relax a little. Costa Maya our whole group did the Chaccoban Extreme Tour with Native Choice. Our guide was very well educated, spoke 4 languages and just was smart and fun. The ruins are cool but small compared to some. Bacalar Lagoon though is gorgeous. The service was excellent, with lots of included virgin pina coladas and sodas. They could use a few more kayaks for the number of people there, but it wasn't crowded and the shades of blue are awesome. Cozumel was my biggest surprise. I have been twice before and wasn't really looking forward to it. Its just a busy city or so I thought. But head to the other side of the island and you will find some beautiful beaches. We used Black Hat Tours and just loved Crescencio, the owner. He is like a young Grandpa and just stayed with us the whole day. If ever I go to Cozumel again I will try to get him as my tour guide. Hmmm.. what other tips or comments? I enjoyed my cruise, and will cruise again. I think I would like to try a cruise with quieter deck and atrium locations. And maybe slightly better food. I would like to try Celebrity or Princess but think they might spoil me for the future. Read Less

I use cruise critic reviews to help me plan my trips and the reviews are always on point....Let's see if I can keep them real here. We needed to get away from the cold Nor East bad weather and it was our Easter Spring break. We decided on a last minute cruise but most were sold out for 3 persons. We were able to find Norwegian Getaway that sailed to countries that we've never been to, Roatan, Honduras, Harvest Caye, Belize, Costa Maya, Mexica and Cozumel (which we'd been to in the past). It was a beautiful 7 days with lovely weather and as it was from April 1-8, most of the Spring break crowd were back to school/College already. I was a little apprehensive as I had never been on the Norwegian Cruise brand and thought it might not have been as nice as the Royal Caribbean or Disney. But, it surprised me and my family and we had a lovely time. I think, most surprising of all was that every single person and family we had met had been on the Norwegian or the Getaway at least twice before. They just loved it! So, let's start with Service 4 out of 5 overall. Room: we went for a mini suite w/balcony and it was 287 sq ft. We could have done the Balcony and been just as happy. Bathroom was a little larger, balcony was small and we were on the 12th mid-deck - don't waste money, Decks 9-11 would have probably been better. It still rocked a bit. Food: Free-style and main dining area always had a wait, you should book way in advance if you know that you want a certain time and before shows. No creativity with the food but the buffet was always good in the mornings and evenings with lots of choices. Entertainment: You have to make reservations in advance. Disappointed about that but we were able to get into later shows and it was hilarious. I sort of missed most of the entertainment and only realised that until I saw the playbacks on the room tvs. Hilarious! Make sure to attend the poolside and atrium activities - always fun on any ship! Tours: they were all wonderful but if you've been on cruises you could always do your own thing in places like Cozumel instead of with the ship tours that had time and certain restrictions. Hire a taxi and check out Playa del Mia. Lots to do there and the prices were either comparable or less (taxi $18 one way, entrance fee $50-57 all inclusive (food/unlimited drinks/unmotorized water sports for kids/adults, water slides, kiddie pools, spa/massages (for a price). It was all well worth it), plus, very good condition equipment. Our maitre'd was excellent, tall, handsome, knowledgeable and quite engaging, our steward, well, he was nice but could have been a bit more diligent. No washer/dryer on board, lots of closet space and one has to call your steward to get an iron (so go with clothes you don't have to iron). The gym was always packed, so get there on time. Eat, sun and be merry. For repeat cruisers, just like on any ship o the days that you remain at sea - get your lounge chairs early in the morning. It was fun and I would definitely do it again. Having been on Disney (the best the cruise lines have to offer - service and food), Royal Caribbean (service and entertainment, beautiful ship layouts), Carnival Vista (this was brand new and a mediterranean cruise now sailing from Miami, food was good, Entertainment good, service excellent and rooms good). So, I can't wait for the next new ship on Norwegian - good bang for the buck! Read Less

We had booked excursions to zip line and we were disappointed that we couldn't. We headed to Belize City instead. The excursion we booked wasn't that great. Belize City is very undeveloped. There wasn't a lot to do there. Hopefully, the pier at Roatan will be rebuilt expeditiously. Overall, the cruise was great. Two days were REALLY windy, but we didn't have any rain to speak of. Most of our meals were very good. I've decided I don't like Le Bistro. It's not the food, but the atmosphere makes me feel like I"m eating a the mall. Ocean Blue was good. We had king crab legs that were delicious. I also enjoyed Moderno. I wish the Haven menu was updated. New menu items should be added. The food is a little too rich for me. Read Less

The rude cruise, over crowded boat apparently leads to very rude and over worked staff. Can you blame them? I noticed supervisors walking about and not helping the staff, they were eager to yell at others when a complaint came in, but didnt help when they could have. Your team is only as good as your leaders, just tip from simeone who knows. I was hoping for a great family vacation, the chance to see new places, and an opportunity to relax and unwind. What we experienced was the opposite. We found ourselves looked down upon by other guests and treated rudly by many staff in resturants when they learned I had allergies. The resolution to my allergies was to tell me, "that is not for you ma'am, have fruit." I was told no buffetts but there were no breakfast options in most places. No accommodations were made. I skipped most meals and settled on dinner which was usually terrible. At cagneys after over an hour I finally asked if we could have drinks and our waitress seemed annoyed. The food was cold and our order was wrong when it came out. Yes we had reservations and no it didn't make any difference. The spa was a joke. 200 per person and we went once. The reason? When we went we went at 8pm (open until 10). We were made to feel like an inconvienence. They came to check on us every 15 minutes and loudly complained that my husband and I were still there so we left. The place was littered with dirty cups, wet robes and towels and there wasn't a lounger that was free to use even though we were the only 2 people in there. My boys were not able to be together in the kids program they told us they would do an age bump because my youngest was a month away from the 10 year old cut off then they denied it. He has PTSD and when I asked if their staff could handle it if he had a panic attack they said yes they were trained then they asked what he couldn't eat. My other son has dwarfism and they were forcing him to be in a group with kids he didn't feel comfortable participating with. They were not ready to accommodate children or anyone with special needs. Needless to say, we didn't participate in the kids camp. Most of the pool deck loungers were taken up by towels but no people so you never had a place to go. The main pool is tiny, and there wasn't much forthekids to do. My husband ended up with food poisining from something he ate at maderno salad bar, dinner took so long at most places we couldnt book shows. My son's swim suit went missing from our room, I can only assume it was scooped up with towles but no one could help us look, or point us in the right direction. Our cabin steward was great, the photo guy made us laugh and we had a really great server at maderno so we filled out 3 hero cards for them, but over all, were it not for amazing excursions to 3 sites for mayan ruins and snorkeling and kayaking, I don't think I'd ever do it again. Cruisers were...my wife and I and another couple...all 40’s/50’s. After several sailings on Carnival and Royal Caribbean, our friends chose this cruise for us to tryout Norwegian...as the 3 For Free promotion seemed too good to pass up. Right up front, I’ll finish the Review Title: ...and Norwegian Failed. That’s not to say that we didn’t enjoy ourselves...after all, we were on a beautiful cruise ship in a warm climate...and we realised that for better or worse, our friends had chosen a time frame at the end of traditional Spring Break. However, assessing the pluses and the minuses; the minuses were the clear “winner”, placing Norwegian in third place, well behind the other two lines we have cruised with. Rather than a lengthy “story”....I’ve chosen more of a Bullet format (not really) for this Review. Embarkation: Was a breeze and we quickly found ourselves enjoying our first cocktail in O’Sheehan’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill...which became our defacto meet-up place for the week. However...don’t think of O’Sheehan’s as a less crowded embarkation option. Ship: Beautiful...but not without what we deemed “major flaws” which severely impacted our overall experience. Ship felt crowded compared to experiences on similar size ships. Ship kept Very clean (with the exception of the pool area). 1) Too many add-on charges (Excludes Haven-related)...16 separate venues, restaurants, shows (Yes...SHOWS) not included in cruise price. Felt like we were nickle’d & dime’d. 2) Difficulty in getting an unambiguous answer regarding “what specific liquors would incur an up charge to the Ultimate Beverage Package”. Finally got clear answer on Day 4 (?) 3) Noticed (enough times to label it a “regular occurrence”) that drinks were made with “off brand” liquor instead of the specific liquor I requested. More nickel and dime’ ing !! 4)Adult Pool (not enforced...too many 13-17 yr. old kids)...Extremely limited number of lounge chairs with sun access (most chairs located in shade under the deck above). 2 of 4 hot tubs in Adult Pool area allowed kids w/parents ???....but this too was not enforced. Pool Depth at 6 ft. 8 in. was too deep to stand/socialize in. What’s Wrong With This Picture: 60-80 (or more) people sitting/standing around edge of pool (doing “adult things”) 4-5 people actually IN POOL ! Pool depth seems to be Norwegians “safety measure” against “jumping/diving” injuries. NEWS FLASH: Make Norwegian Adult Pools a depth that folks can STAND in and there won’t be any room for jumpers...Problem Solved ! Drink service at Adult Pool area a distant 3rd compared to Carnival/Royal. Note: Servers who worked pool area were great; just not nearly enough of them. We have NEVER had to stand in a long queue to get drinks at the pool before ! 5) Comedy Club venue way too small. We managed to Reserve spots for only a single Comedy show. Very disappointing as Comedy shows are our favourite non-pool activity. Cabin: Balcony Cabin (on the bump)...Adequate space for 2. Good storage. Bathroom roomy. Balcony...nice surprise. Dining: Main Dining...One visit. Won’t rate based on a single meal...but we ate (most). Market Place Buffet: Good selection. Overall good food/service. Noodle Bar...Very good service/food. Recommend. O’Sheehan’s....Very good service/food. Recommend. Specialty: Moderno,....Very good service/food. Recommend. Cagney’s....Best meal of the cruise ! Excellent service ! Highly Recommend La Cucina...OK food...So-So service. Neutral Entertainment: Overall opinion...Limited options (unless you pay extra) Burn the Floor...Very enjoyable, high energy show. Talented performers. Million Dollar Quartet...Very enjoyable. Talented performers. Comedy....Very enjoyable. Seriously disappointed to only attend one show. At Adult Pool....Blah...Nothing memorable. Service: Cabin Steward....we’ve had much, much better.... Ports/Shore Excursions: Overall...Did not like Norwegian’s docking locations Roatan...Repeat visit to Tabyana Beach...Very enjoyable...Recommend. Belize...R U kidding me ?? Harvest Cay is Belize like I live in the city; 30 minutes away ! Harvest Cay is without a doubt, the biggest ripofff of this cruise ! EVERYTHING on Alcatraz (that’s what the Belizeans call Harvest Cay !) COSTS EXTRA ! Food...Extra. Drinks...Extra. (Ultimate Beverage Package doesn’t work here !). Want to ACTUALLY GO TO BELIZE...Extra $25 per person for the ferry...and that gets you to the town of Placencia. If you were expecting Belize City...you’re not getting there...it’s another 3 hours up the coast ! Costa Maya....Rented a golf cart and drove to Mahawahl. Fun time. Cozumel....Rented a Jeep and hit some beach bars. Good food. Would we go again....Yes...but definitely not with Norwegian...Sorry. Read Less
