Generally the ship was nice and clean. The food was above average. Entertainment was very good. Staff was courteous and always helpful. Biggest problem with ship is the swimming pool situation and no real adult area. That makes this ship a very poor choice for me and most adults I know. Hard to believe whoever designed this ship missed on this one. First time i cruised Norwegian, but I will need to check ship out in more detail before I cruise with them again. The agent I booked with said there was an adult pool and area. He was correct, but the pool was tiny, there was only one adult hot tub and there were kids all over the place. Also, whats the point of having a small pool and the entire thing is 6'8" deep. everyone was hanging on the sides because no one like treading water in the middle when you are trying to relax and talk to friends. design people really messed up big time. I was not the only one complaining. It seemed to be what many people talked about everyday. Variety of bars was great, but usually difficult to get a drink. What makes it worse is paying for the drink package and spending half you time trying to get drinks just to get your moneys worth. Also for the price you pay for drink package, they should have bottled water. Very poor! Agent told me they did have bottled water with package, but was wrong. Very disappointed, as i am a water drinker more than an alcohol drinker. I had to spend money to buy bottled water. Read Less

The boat was overcrowded and not enough staff to attend to everyone. Since gratuities were suppose to be paid all upfront they did not have to work hard to get people there food or drinks, I waited 20-30 min for drinks and at dinner took 2hrs. at least. But then once you are on the boat they hit you with a 15$per person per day charge for someone to make up your room. If you want decent food you have to go to the specialty restaurant and pay for it. The adult pool was so small and way overcrowded. They had another adult pool but it had limited spots and fee was 210 per person for the week. The Spa was a nice facility. So one would think that after you pay for an overpriced massage you can use the rest of the amenities there but No that's an extra fee too. So be wary when you think you have an all inclusive they are so many hidden fees. Also the shows sucked, Royal Caribbean is such a better cruise line. Read Less

I think it's important before leaving a rating to understand the frame of mind of the traveler and their expectation levels before cruising. Let me say that in my case - I love cruising. To be it's about relaxation, the vacation coming to you, the full itinerary, the work is done for you, and the fact that everything is settled in advance. You go, you don't have to think too much about spending a fortune, you unwind, recharge, and when you get back, you don't feel like you need another vacation. That said on The Escape... The service was absolutely excellent, the food was excellent. The shows (Choir of Man and After Midnight, their Magic duo) were excellent. Our weather and our "ride" to an fro were excellent. So why just a 3-star review? The Escape loses points because it is simply overcrowded, there are not enough "open" spaces to just conversate or relax unless you want to tan on the upper deck and even that is way too overcrowded, and a little unruly and dirty (not their fault, the guests just leave food and drinks and dirty towels everywhere and the staff can't keep up). A lot of the indoor functions took place in the Theatre or the "Atrium," and it too was way overcrowded. The Theatre was fine, uncomfortable and rather small considering that there are 4000 guests on the ship. Spice H2O is a great party space, but again, way too overcrowded. This made it uncomfortable for my kind of tastes. As NY'ers, we go on a cruise to get away from that shoulder-to-shoulder discomfort, not to enter into it. Bars were hit or miss with service. O'Sheehan's., the main bar overlooking the Atrium was incredibly understaffed at the bar, and on a number of occasions we were simply ignored for 10-15 minutes at a time. Thankfully, there are other bars where it's easier to score a drink...no big deal. Felt a bit nickel-and-dimed at times (do they really have to charge $5.50 for a bottle of water in the room, especially when they charge guests $15 a day already?), and way, way, way too much space designated to art and photography. that's just a money grab and a waste of good space. On nights when photographers were around you had stairways blocked, cues of lines in hallways just to pass, it was rather obnoxious at times. It's a problem because the Escape just doesn't have a lot of usable space for a ship this large, there is simply too much congestion, and then throw in blocked hallways and staircases into the mix simply to take a portrait, c'mon now! And to do it for the final 4 nights on the cruise is a little too much. Choose a single night to do that, people dress up, take your picture, and be done with it. The Escape just hits you over the head with that nonsense. The automated bingo with predetermined winners was a letdown and way too expensive. Deal or no Deal and some of the other "game shows" were really boring and a letdown, but because that's not why I choose to cruise it didn't lose too many points. The bottom line is this - the Escape is NOT cheap and it is a good time. Where it needs to deliver - Food, drink, service, cleanliness, embarkation process - it truly is fantastic! but there a lot of minor annoyances that certainly will have me looking to "try something different" next time around, not because it's a bad ship but because I didn't walk away saying, "Wow, that ship is amazing" and that's simply what I want when I cruise! I choose Norwegian Escape to Bermuda because I wanted lots of time to relax and be pampered, great excursions and one port of destination. From boarding to disembarkation, I felt like I was treated like a queen...but I do tend to act like one. Lol. The staff referred to me by name (which blew my mind), they remembered details and special needs. I honestly do not have the time to explain the quality of the freestyle dining in terms of food, presentation, and staff. You honestly would think the Maitre D's were taking care of royalty. The entertainment was great. An older couple who were on their 27th cruise with different cruise lines told me that it was the best entertainment they had ever encountered. I don't have the comparison, because this was my first extended cruise, but OMG...the entertainment was first class with Broadway and Motown entertainers, as well as comedians from well known television shows. Would I do it again? I can't wait to do it again. I am hypersensitive to cigarette smoke, so my only displeasure is that some of the events I wanted to attend were or the two smoking floors and required me to go in and out so that the faint smell did not cause me difficulty. Please note that the faint smell did not bother most people, and probably would not bother 99.9 but as always, cigarette smoke can cause headaches for me. Excursions were professional and fun! Had a wonderful time on Norwegian (as always). Choose this line over others because of the specialty restaurants offered. Teppanyaki is always a crowd pleaser. If I could change one thing about cruises would be the size of the pools. Always too small. Really really enjoyed The Choir of Man - fun and entertaining. Did not so much care for Cotton Club - singing and dancing were great but no story line to connect it. LaCuccina did not live up to its name - guess I'm just a more down home Italian food person. Cabins were nice sized - just enough for the two of us. View from balcony was unobstructed. Again, only complaint was pool size. Casino was fun as always. Cruise games like trivia were fun - might could be a few more though. Liked that we stayed in Bermuda for couple of days instead of moving from port to port. Can't wait for next years cruise! The buffet food at the restaurant was okay , however the exclusive restaurant were out of this world . Le bistro, was superb , the Manhattan was great , moderno had amazing meats . The drinks were made to perfection . Nothing watered down, all drinks premium and perfect with the alcohol . The amount of friends I made on this cruise is unreal . Norwegian does everything they can to make it as easy as possible to have a good time . The quality of the crew, their attentiveness and professionalism was far lacking. It was apparent they did not care to be on the ship. From boarding to disboarding the overall attitude toward passengers made me wish I was not there. The quality of the food was horrendous, soups had no whole ingredients and were clearly powdered. I myself was sick the entire trip! The setup on ship was a detriment to anyone not there with a whole family as they corralled guests into areas such as Skyline for evening parties (an area much too small for all guests) and then closed the only place to get a drink when passengers engaged in fighting due to the cramped conditions. The adult only pools/ hot tubs were nearly never enforced! I never got to enjoy the pool/ hot tub areas due to an excess of children present at all times splashing and screaming. When I put forth the money to get a spa experience in hopes of some kind of relaxation I was shorted the whole service (tip to toe) including a collagen eye treatment I never received even after asking about completing the service. It was nearly impossible to find a quiet space or other singles on the ship. I spent more money on this cruise than my last and am utterly shocked by my experience with Norwegian as a whole. No kind of vacation I would choose for myself again. Read Less

Dedicated NCL membersDisembarkation took 3 hours. They lost our souvenirs which they were holding for us and then were nasty about it. Two nights for dinner at Cagneys were fair at best. Our potatoes came first followed 10 minutes later by our steaks which were not cooked properly. Dinner at La Cucina was not up to par. Food came late again. The first 7 nights were otherwise great. Dinner at Le Bistro and the Manhattan room were terrific. We were invited to a beer tasting which was great. We have travelled on the Escape four times and the first 3 were excellent which is why we went back again. Embarkation was smooth and our room was ready and the luggage came timely. The regular General Manager Deepak was not on the ship this time and I wonder if the service slipped because of this. We will come back hoping this was an isolated incident. Read Less

We dined in Chaney’s and Le Bistro and were extremely pleased with the selections and the quality of our meals. We also fined in Taste and Savor and enjoyed our meals and the ambiance. The entertainment was first rate. We especially enjoyed the Choir of Man so much that we saw it twice. Howl st the Moon and Carole’s King were also very entertaining. Our only criticism was regarding the Atrium. There were a number of shows, games, demonstrations there but the area was too small to accommodate all the passengers watching the events. In addition, the venue was too close to the passenger services desks such as excursions, cruise next, and guest services which meant that the noise from the atrium made it extremely difficult to communicate at those desks. All in all this cruise was first class. Read Less

Bermuda has always been a bucket list item for us and what better way to travel than a cruise! I thought the port time was long enough and was able to get to the major sites I wanted to see. I have been on a few cruises before and here is what I loved about Norwegian. The Free Style dining is great! My husband and I did not keep any kind of regular schedule and it was nice to breakfast at 7:30am or 11am and dinner at 5pm or 9pm. Definitely would recommend late night reservations at the Manhattan Room for their late night live music starting at 8pm. On the flip side, the optional "formal night" was kind of lame and not well promoted. We actually missed it and just decided to wear our formal clothes to dinner the next day. The Open Bar Package as your Free at Sea offer is definitely the way to go. I loved the huge option of Bars and Cocktail Lounges. We barely had time for all of them but the interior designed and menus are terrific. And the bartenders are fast and professional. make sure you check out the water front in the mornings and afternoons, it is always quiet there! We only went to one specialty dining restaurant, Le Bistro, and the additional prices were extremely reasonable. We had a great waiter and the food presentation was beautiful. My husband and I loved the Thermal Spa and Suite. We got the whole week pass and it was totally worth it. We spent about 2 hours a day there just enjoying the quiet and hot stone lounge chairs. I especially appreciated the Hydro-therapy Pool and Steam/Salt rooms. I had a bit of a cold while we were traveling. I am glad we had the passes because there was never a hot tub open anywhere on the main Pool deck. We only spent the first day there and avoided it because it was too crowded the rest of the trip. The Choir of Man show was AMAZING! We had planned to go the first night but I got seasick so we went to a later show in the week and it was totally worth it! The songs and talent were great. After Midnight had a strong cast however, I thought the content of the show was a little dated (problematic). Especially since it was a fully black cast of performers bopping around the "Cotton Club". Could probably use a bit more diversity on the production team. The Cruise Director was very energetic and hilarious we had a ton of fun at the 80's night and the White Night. Also the ropes course is legit! It is not physically strenuous but definitely thrilling! I was kind of relieved the upper level course was out of service due to high winds. Make sure you bring sneakers for this otherwise they will not let you participate! Overall we would definitely consider Norwegian again for their wide variety of activities, bars, and nightlife on the Escape. The Ship was definitely packed but having a few quiet places to retreat to made it feel like we were on an Ocean Oasis. Read Less

This has been my 7th NCL Cruise. Everything was perfect. Food was wonderful, service was impressive and we loved all the entertainment also. Ship is kept spotless and the crew is tirelessly working for us. We also enjoyed beautiful weather and very smooth seas! Eating at Cagneys is always a treat! Lobster bisque is amazing and rib eyes and filets were delicious. We also had a fabulous meal at LaCucina. The one negative about the Escape is the fact that the ship does not have a large public, windowed room at the top, for that panoramic view. The Spinnaker lounge on the Pearl or the Gem has it. Ship seemed crowded at times. People hog chairs by the pool all day. This happens on all ships, but we couldn’t find two chairs together on sea days. We bid on an upgrade from an ocean view to an aft balcony and received it. We were very happy. Room was comfortable with a nice size shower. Shower has an adjustable shower head for short people. It was my wife and I first trip in 24 years . We embarked out of ny and it was a total mess so disorganized finally on board after a 3 hour wait to find our room was not ready for another 2 hrs and our luggage didn’t get to our room until 8pm . Finally on our room we were greeted by the sounds of metal banging in the floor and ceiling . The stateroom smelled like an outhouse and the whole fifth deck smelled like it to . The atm was shut of the minute we left port so the could charge us when we charged anything to our room account . The entertainment was good but it was held in a small area and was always sold out because of the room size. There was hardly no communication as to what was going on on the ship by the time you found out about an event it was full . The casino and drink attendants were so slow by the time you got to order a drink and when you got it was about an hour and it was usually wrong . Disembarkment was worse than embankment it took almost 2 hours to exit the boat and get through the terminal . Then after your cruise they place a hold on your account for up to eight days even though they were paid in full before you exited the boat for example if you paid them 3200.00 they placed a hold on your bank account for an additional 3200.00 . So I advise using anther account for your trip otherwise it will cause problems with your bank if you don’t have the funds to cover the hold amount . They could give me a cruise for free and I would not take it Norwegian sucks Read Less

This is my first cruise on Norwegian. Since I've done 2 RCL last year, those experiences were still fresh on my mind so I compare the three ships. Sadly I must say that Norwegian is like many had lamented, lagging behind other leading cruise lines now. Ship: Escape is quite impressive in size and plan. I like the water slides/park, rope course, and very nice mini golf course. Escape also seems to be rocking harder at similar weather, and definitely shakes (at 6th floor MDR you can clearly feel the tremble - as if someone's shaking legs at your table, and you can feel it at times even in the 16th floor Garden Cafe!). Can't help but think of the listing incident. Our last day had huge wind - 70+ miles, waves several meters high, but we were safe. I do like the casino not being as smelly as some other ships, and the atrium always having some interesting activities. Summary: RCL wins because they offer surf simulator and flight simulator. Skating rinks, rock climbing etc. And overall smoother ride. Cabin: Had mini suite on Escape, and Balcony on Allure/Anthem. I like Escape's cabin number plate, with "make up room", "at home", "do not disturb" indicators. Size wise they seem similar, but mini suite had bigger/nicer bathroom. The biggest complaints I have against Escape are listed further down in cabin review Summary: Easy win for RCL here. Food: MDR was a semi-disaster. Even if you go there at an early time, you might have to wait a bit to get in. The menu had few things special usually, and you have to wait a super long time for any course. The waiting staff were slow refilling (my water glass was empty and 10 mins past no one filled it up. I finally got a chance to ask the waitress and it took another 10 mins to get it). It was so bad that after the first 2 days, we went to Garden Cafe pretty much all the time. Norwegian claimed "Nobody does dining like Norwegian". They're right - we haven't seen a slower MDR on Carnival, RCL, or Celebrity! Anthem/Allure MDR was quite efficient and always had something interesting to order. I think it's not that Escape staff was bad, but they seem very short on hand in MDR. One waiter has to deal with many tables. It almost makes one think Norwegian deliberately drove traffic to Garden Cafe. But at least Garden Cafe is its saving grace. It's much better than RCL's horrendous windjammer. There's barely any long lines in Garden Cafe AND never ever had one had to wait outside the Cafe waiting to get in. Windjammer of RCL is small and jampacked, had food that's not that good and a few times had lines 20-30 mins long waiting outside to get in! We ended up mostly using MDR on RCL. Summary: RCL edges out, only slightly. Much better buffet on Escape can't fully compensate for the huge lack of finer dining option (sans paying extra for specialty dining). Entertainment: We booked every show, including escape room (you should book them right after you get on ship, in the box office) on Escape. The main, Broadway-quality show, After Midnight - nearly everyone of us fell asleep during some part of it. It's great singing, great showcase of jazz. But not including other music style AND without a real plot made it boring. The comedy shows were fine, same quality as other ships. The staff talent show - I was wowed. Grace from the O'Sheehan packed a powerful voice. She's in the wrong line of work and deserves a better stage. The Chinese dancer was quite professional and chose music nicely with good choreography. The magician was fine. Later ones were not as good but still quite impressive. The Knights - a huge letdown. They picked mostly obscure songs from the most famous knighted singers, and the few that were famous, you can't tell until the 3rd line! Somehow they managed to take every song and sign it in their own way, and not a good way! Their voices were ranging from OK to very good, but they shouldn't be singing pop songs. One of them should be belting out Broadway hits instead. Dizzy the magician was great! He's really funny and had some very nice tricks that I still scratch my head. But the real surprise was Choir of Men. I never heard of them before but they were fantastic! Like Knights, they took famous songs and sang in their own way, except it's a very good way! One of the Knights member joked at the end of their show said a Choir of Men member "came to watch their show on his off day, just to see how it shouldn't be done". It's actually true. Where Knights failed miserably, Choir of Men triumphed. From a powerful rendition of Adele's Hello to touching love ballade (not sure whose song was it). They chose different voices for different songs and nailed most of them. The bar tender, sadly, did not have a great voice but was tasked on two songs not well suited for him, particularly Sia's Chandelier?? He couldn't really do it, despite the nice harmony created by the team. But overall this is a 5-star show. I'd say don't miss Dizzy's show and definitely not Choir of Men! Activities wise it's similar to RCL, and the atrium big screen is nice for both simultcast and other activities. Summary: RCL still wins out easily. Anthem had We will rock you and Allure betters with Mamma Mia. Both had some impressive acts flown in to perform some shows and every show on RCL ships were quite good. The escape room on Escape is very similar to the one in 270 on Anthem, so that's even. Pool: Didn't really use it much. Hot tub usually quite busy, including spice H2O. The waterfall was quite gimmicky. Summary: RCL edges out slightly with bigger and better equipped solarium vs the small spice H2O. Fitness: Escape has decent size, and better classes at a slightly lower price for unlimited. It's way more packed the first two days than both of the RCL ships too. But one equipment had a bad seat from beginning till end of cruise despite that they said they called it in a while ago. Summary: This might be the only Norwegian win here. Port: Bermuda is nice! I like the beaches all looking different. View from lighthouse was very nice too. We heard various opinions that said Elbow Beach had the pinkest sand, or Horseshoe had the pinkest sad. But as we discovered, Jobson's Cove definitely had the pinkest sand of the 3, and possibly all beaches! One thing though - don't pick up anything translucent on the beach. And if you don't have place for your snorkeling gear, don't worry. Most of the beaches had few fishes. Horseshoe had like 10, Jobson's Cove had 4. My son said he saw more fish at the Garden Cafe... (There is actually reasonable number of fish at Tobacco Bay though, which has nice rock formations too). BTW surprisingly, even though the water's cold, once you get in, it wasn't so bad. On nice sunny April days, you can swim. We didn't book any excursions and didn't feel the need to. Took Escape's ferry to St. George and most other times were using public bus and ferry (bought bus tickets in post office). That was fine - the bus was slow and no clear schedule at individual stops, so we took taxi at times too. Final verdit: While we enjoyed our trip quite a bit, Norwegian was disappointing as it had the same price as RCL but definitely failed to provide the same entertainment and service. Read Less

As a surprise for friends of ours (they had received the cruise as a Xmas gift) we booked the same cruise to Bermuda along with another couple. The surprise was successful and the 6 of us generally had a great time. Once we realized that it was school vacation week (the couple we were surprising were teachers) we bid for The Haven as the other couple joining us had stayed in The Haven previously and felt that it would give us a bit of piece and quiet when we wanted it. Bids were successful, however, piece and quiet did not come with the upgrade. The Haven was full of kids which filled all three hot tubs and the pool day and night (we never got to use either). Parents appeared to have disappeared for the entire cruise and between wet towels being thrown around the pool area and loud games of Marco Polo we couldn't even enjoy sitting on the upper deck (pool is open for 2 decks). Our attempt to use the adult only pool outside The Haven was not successful either since the adults only rule was not enforced. Other benefits of The Haven were great but unfortunately overshadowed by the constant running, pushing, shoving, etc. We are not against kids (have our own) but were put off by the lack of parental control and lack of staff enforcing the rules. Cabin steward provided superior service, entertainment options were top notch and specialty dining very good. If we try NCL again it will definitely be a different time of year. Read Less

We wanted to see Bermuda, and spend more than one day in port - this cruise fit the bill. Overall, a very good cruise, but there is room for improvement. First, the big positives: 1 - Balcony room was very nice - good bed, largest shower (by comparison to other ships) we've seen, and a super room steward (friendly and helpful). 2 - Great cruise director and staff - personable and a lot of fun - no shortage of talent there. 3 - Good variety of entertainment options. 4 - Overall, a clean, nice ship. Room for improvement: 1 - While food was good, overall it was not as good as food we have had on Royal Caribbean and Princess. Less variety at the buffets than on Royal Caribbean and Princess. 2 - Maybe it was because it was a busy holiday week (Easter), but the bartenders were not as cheerful as we have seen on other ships. Also, while rest of crew was friendly, we received less "Good Morning" greetings than we have on other ships. While it might seem like a small, minor point, I think it definitely reflects on the overall friendliness of the entire crew. 3 - Deck 6 Atrium is a great place for the interactive shows and contests onboard with its neat high-definition wall screen. However, the overall size was too small for many of the events conducted there, leading to overcrowding and people fighting to get seats there, with the crowd overflowing into the Guest Services area. The situation could have been improved by moving the popular comedic adult games shows to a larger venue like the theater with more room. The games were a lot of fun, but the overcrowding hampered many from truly enjoying the shows. I have discussed the good, the bad, and now the UGLY: 1 - Only one truly poor thing, but unfortunately it was the last impression we had. The disembarking procedure was a horrible joke!! Two hours in a line winding from bow to stern, through halls and mazes in the main dining room, then on to the Customs maze (which only took about 15-20 minutes. No organization whatsoever, and a lot of angry passengers stuck forever between decks on staircases. Although groups of passengers were assigned departure times, none were observed or controlled by the ship personnel. Plus, handling your own bags made things move even slower. NCL - Take some lessons from Royal Caribbean - they have disembarking down to a science. When cruising on the Allure of the Seas, with 6,300 passengers, I was able to disembark, including Customs, in 15 minutes. With 4,000 on this NCL ship, it took another member of our group of friends over 3 hours - a total joke that quickly soured a lot of us to NCL. Again, overall a very good cruise, but if NCL could get its disembarking procedure totally changed, and tweak the few things I mentioned, it could have been a 5 star cruise. Read Less

Chose this cruise cause I heard they are supposed to be one of the best. The crew walked around with a chip on their shoulder and gave a lot of attitude when asked simple question. Almost like they did not want to have to help you. The lines for drinks were about a 15 minute wait because the bartenders will serve their couple favourites and make everyone else wait. The food was absolutely terrible, unless you like msg with everything then you might be okay. The person I was traveling with got food poisoning the third last day from the a la carte restaurants of all things. The buffet is located right above the rear engines so you will be feeling a large rumble while trying to eat at any part of it. I would not recommend this cruise to anyone I know and would definitely never take one from ncl again Read Less

We had an amazing time! Awesome cabin steward, room was very spacious although the sofa/bed where my son slept was not so comfortable--we didn't know until late in the week to ask the steward for something to help (our first cruise). Food was wonderful, private island was fun. Pool was too small and too crowded. There were actually 2 pools, one was designated for adults only and the child friendly pool was full of 4 and 5 year olds--no fun for my 14 year old. Good news is the water slides were fun and he LOVED the basketball court!! There was more than enough activities on board (we did not partake in some) and the shows were fantastic!!! My son loved the comedians--and most were family friendly! My biggest complaint is the awful dirty ashtray smell from the casino. It was gross and unavoidable. Not sure why they still allow smoking on board, kind of nerve wracking since we were in the middle of the ocean and God forbid there was a fire. We are excited for cruise # 2 next year! Beautiful ship!! Read Less

I chose this cruise because it was an easy ride to New York port. Also it was going to the Bahamas. We had a great time. I don’t know why I see a lot of negative reviews. We had a mini suite with balcony. It was not very big, but no cabins are. We did not hear any noises from other cabins. The food was very good, but service a bit slow. Being a large ship, it was sometimes crowded in areas but no where to what I expected, so not too bad. Pool is a bit small. We were able to see all the shows we wanted to see without a problem. We sometimes had to wait for an elevator, but we made a game out of it. It is what you make it. Either you go to have fun and do so, or you let little things ruin it. I would do this cruise again. If you want perfection, I don’t know what vacation would fit. Read Less

Not what we expected. The good: Food is really good. Entertainment is amazing. The bad: Pool- very small pool, and not that clean. Casino - you will never win anything. Bars - If you tip you will get service, if you don’t, then, you may have to wait 20 minutes for a drink I standing at the bar. The islands - not enough time to explore. Rooms - small and that toilet... it’s tiny, yes, small toilets. If you are more than 220 pounds, then you will not feel comfortable on that toilet. It’s small... like really small. Service - you have to tip otherwise you will get the very basic service and you will not like it. Example: they can make your room but only make your bed. With a $5 tip you get your whole room done and fresh towels, and ice and extra stuff. So haven extra $$$ to tip. Nightlife - one! Yes one decent bar at night the “sky bar” that’s has a DJ. Bunch of teenagers dancing and that’s it, everyone sleeps at 1:00 am - no more life after that. Read Less

We choose this cruise because our cruise friends booked it and we decided to go with them. in all we were 10 people. From start to finished it was a very good cruise, We arrived at the Port by 10.15 am and check in took all but 15 min ( I did provide a CC on line before getting to the Port so that saved time) We were on Board by 11;00 am very fast and organized boarding. We all had lunch at Savor (10 of us) and service was quick and friendly and the menu and food did not disappoint. By 1: 20 pm the Cabins were ready for us and we went to our Cabin Mini Suite 15798 to drop of our carry on and to get ready for Muster Drill at 2;30 pm . Muster Drill was well organized and went smooth ( it helps if guest would show up on time and listen to the instructions giving ) We sailed away a little after 3:00 pm and we got lucky with the weather for March ( NCL does not control the weather or the seas lol ) The service provided by our room Steward was great. we never had to ask for anything. He made sure we had everything that we needed on a daily basis. I can honestly say out of all the cruises we have been on this was the best, from the food to the drinks to the service to the Entertainment and having great friends on board everything was awesome. NCL should be proud of their crew and the service they provide to their guest, I would like to add that if you find that the crew was not overly friendly, you may want to check to see if you treated them with respect and in a friendly matter . sometimes the problem lies with us. Love NCL this is my 3rd cruise in 3 years NCL never dissappoints. Ship was splendid, food was fabulous and the service was impeccable. Our balconey room was comfortable and clean. Only complaint is there are not many areas for smokers, heard many customer complaints. Main dining room service and food was great loved le Bistro was however dissappointed with Bayamo, after waiting all week to celebrate the cruise final night, food delivered to the table was not what was described on the menu. We paid upcharge ahead of time only to have them refund to my onboard acct then they charge you again when dining, we were not informed of this. Took 3 excursion booked on ship, the trip to cocoa beach was terrible, NCL just handles the transfer but it is nothing but a tourist trap. Nassau Blue Lagoon was over crowded with 4 ships in port, it was crowded, no chairs, ran out of food and drink which was included, NCL island was great but tender transfer a little difficult. I always travel NCL and always will, I feel you get 5 star treatment, great service food and entertainment. We loved the Escape and will travel on this ship again if given the opportunity. Read Less

My daughter and family booked the cruise first, We wanted to join them and got an excellent price with free gratuities through our travel agency. My grand daughter has severe food allergies and my daughter and all were extremely worried about this at first. However we appreciated the concern and compassionate attention we received regarding this very serious condition. They assured us that the ship has a separate kitchen and all of her foods were prepared in a nut and sesame free environment. Since we are Platinum members we especially enjoy the perks we receive with that level.I think NCL does a fantastic job in the entertainment department as well. We typically cruise to relax, and found the Escape a bit crowded compared to the Jade class ships. We missed the lido area toward the back, Even though H2O is there, it is not as convenient to Garden cafe for early morning breakfast which we really enjoy. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we love the itinerary and wanted to try the Norwegian Escape. We have done two cruises on the Dawn and six on the Gem. There were almost twice as many passengers aboard than what we were used to. Things moved along at the NYC terminal very quickly to our surprise. It was a bit intimidating doing the muster drill in the atrium due to the crowds and it was quite warm. There was an adjustment period the first day because of the pool and restaurants being on different decks than we were used to. By the next morning we began our love affair with the Escape. Three main complementary dining rooms and a very nice area on deck 17 is call Spice H20 which is great for reading on the loungers and relatively quiet. There is also a huge movie screen that shows films under the stars on a few nights. The food was superior to the other Norwegian ships we've cruised with previously. Every member of the crew was friendly and greeted us with a smile. Read Less

The ship is huge but the atrium (where it all happens) is tiny. There’s no room for the amount of people on the boat to attend the shows and fun things going around. There aren’t even enough show times for everyone to attend in the main theatre. You have to make reservations right away or you won’t get in. Some shows were BORING. Entertainment was not good. I liked the entertainment in the supper club, which is kind of hidden and no one knows is free. There’s so much on the ship that has a hidden cost. We had lots of incorrect charges on our account that Norwegian made nearly impossible to have removed. We were charged for the mini bar that we had removed on day 1.. as well as charges from one of the restaurants for the drinks that they brought that were incorrect. Still have not been reimbursed. We only saw the cruise director once... and we attended a lot of things. He didn’t go above and beyond. We wanted to go to the staff talent show but the theatre was so full you couldn’t get near it. The pool is also so small we were only able to get in it once. The hot tubs there were maybe like 2 on the main deck and 2 elsewhere on other decks. Could not even get into! Why such a big ship and not more on the decks? The gym is the tiniest little sad thing. They must have really just overbooked the cruiise ship or have way too many staterooms. I thought the food was good but at the buffets the food wasn’t hot which worries me a little bit. The main dining room food was really good and hot though. Port Canaveral is not a good port to stop at. Read Less
