Wonderful cabins! We had two balcony rooms side by side. They were clean and spacious. Our steward was very attentive.

Portside, midship location, just forward of the front elevators & staircase, down a straight corridor that - with room steward's service carts, can easily block easy access for passengers using motorized scooters, walkers, wheelchairs & rollators. Upon entry, the guest keycard and/or equivalent (old gift/debit/hotel card) inserted into the slot will enable all electrical power in the cabin - there are 3 (three) 110 volts outlet and 1 (one) 220 volts 2-prong Euro outlet at the desk, plus 2 USB outlet integrated into the bedside LED lamp, bring your own USB extension cords (10' or 15') if you wish to sit on the balcony while staying charged with a tablet, iPad or smartphone, etc. CPAP user should likewise bring a 25' extension cord (non-surge protected ones) to neatly route the power from the desk outlet to bedside. This cabin sleeps up to 4, with 2 twin beds that joint together as a Queen bed, a convertible foam soda with sheets & padding to change into a bed for sleeping, and a 4th ceiling-drop-down upper pullman bed, over the soda, with a ladder to climb up/down. Main bed is nearest the balcony, with room by the sofa to sit around, making access to the closet with sliding doors easier to get to, with over a dozen metal hangers, a large top shelf and 4 open shelves, where packing cubes are ideal to keep clothing & other loose items organized, clean & simple to repack. A digital, 4-pins safe is big enough for wallets, purses & small electronics, mini iPads will fit but not sufficient even for my travel Sony 11.6" notebook PC. There is plenty of underbed storage, good for 3 to 4 full-size 28" rollerboards or spinners - as the height is at least 15" tall under the mattress, and where life vests are stored in its own basket that slide out. There are 2 oversized sliding drawers under the sofa/bed, one usually keeping the extra sheets, pillows & beddings for the 3rd & 4th guests. There are no sliding drawers but plenty of shelves to store assorted items - instead of a regular chair, NCL has replaced them with a sitting stool for the desk. On each side of the main bed is a slimline nightstand with 2 shelves - a zipped up medium/large packing cube can easily be placed there if storage for 4 is an issue. Escape's regular, standard balcony is larger & better than the older Breakaway, with room for 2 chairs & a small coffee/end table, but barely big enough for a 9" food plate & zero space for a cup or coffee mug - there is enough space to squeeze in a 3rd chair together to enjoy the waterfront.
