Between me and my wife we have been on 5 ships: this cruise (the Insignia), Anthem of the Seas, Empress of the Seas, QM2 (Britannia Class), and Crown Princess. We have been in inside rooms through verandas. This review is based on both mine and my wife's opinions. Each of the ships have their pros and minuses and each provides a different experience. While we both enjoyed the Empress of the Seas on a Cuba cruise I will not discuss it any further since Cuba is now off limits and I am not sure the experience would be the same. Overall the Insignia is an excellent smaller ship and provided a wonderful experience for our Bermuda cruise. If the itinerary and price was right I would definitely consider the ship for another cruise. However, if we were traveling with children would not consider this ship. Not much for children to do and we did not see many. Of all the ships listed the Anthem is dead last and would not travel on her unless it was practically free. What the Insignia does better than QM2 and Princess is food. The food on Insignia was definitely better than QM2 and Princess. Especially the buffet. On most cruise lines I try very hard to avoid the buffet. The buffet on Insignia is excellent. Sometimes better than the mail dinning room. Excellent sushi most nights. Cooked to order grilled steaks, lamb and seafood (lobster and shrip) plus other options. One night they had fresh grilled tuna and mussels on the buffet. Also on Insignia no matter what stateroom you are in you get a night at each of the 2 specialty restaurants (Italian and Steakhouse). While I heard another couple complain about the food they had in the Italian restaurant I was very happy with both. Breakfast was also amazing in the buffet for breakfast. The other thing I like about Oceania is they do not nickel and dime you for extras. Specialty coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, etc. are included without an additional fee. I thought the alcohol was reasonably priced and good. Also, one night was a captain's reception with free open bar. Service was wonderful everywhere. Loved the string quartet that played evenings. Absolutely wonderful. Now for some downsides that should be expected from a ship this size: - There is more rocking than on the QM2. - While I did enjoy the enrichment activities there are less than on a larger ship, the QM2 excels at this. The QM2 is the ONLY ship I would consider for a trans Atlantic crossing. - While we enjoyed the one show we attended, the ship is smaller and the show area reminds me more of a nightclub than a Broadway stage. - There was one small pool (I think it was heated) and two hot tubs that can get busy on sea days. Embarkation is strictly by level (and annoyance). Also, a bigger annoyance is that staterooms may not be ready until 3 PM. Pack your swimming attire in a carry-on. More important on this ship than others. Something that seems common to all ships, lounge chair hogs were ever-present. Read Less

We love to cruise any of the NCL fleet. The ships all have a unique personality created by the crew attitude toward us. This was an anniversary celebration, they knew it but at our request they didn't make a big deal about it. We wanted it to be our time. Shortly before the bookings were closed another couple decided to join us and had no problem getting a great cabin. Each time we needed to change our reservations from 2 to 4 it was handled immediately and without issue. They made it happen. I was amazed at how many of their staff could keep such a high attitude toward personal customer service. We enjoyed the free style dining experience and made use of four of the specialty dining rooms. We've been on this ship three times before but still found new items offered each day and new creative entertainment offerings we could not keep up with. We went on a cruise on a great medium sized ship that stopped at islands we already know and love but this time we never left the ship for a single excursion. I stand behind the captain's decision to cut the island hopping by one day and head home to avoid hitting the strong weather head-on at full speed. The turbulence was not disturbing to anyone I spoke with. Thanks to NCL for a memorable anniversary celebration. Read Less

Wanted to visit St. Lucia and Antigua and the bonus was St Maarten and Puerto Rico. Missed St. Thomas due to weather but happy with the decision for safety. We are Disney Cruise ravers and this cruise line is equal and even exceeds in some area. Beautiful ship and wonderful Cruise Director and crew. Balcony cabin was smaller than others but our stateriom steward was excellent! Lots of activities and the music was fabulous - not the head banger junk - actual dancing music! Motown and party music. Loved the swing dance lessons and bingo was entertaining. The shows were our favorite - really first rate broadway type with unbelievable energy and top of the line dancing. Blazing Boots was so exhilarating it was hard to catch your breath and the dancers taught the swing class making it even more exciting! The Russian Circus Acrobats should be headliners for Cirque du Soleil as their duo act was astonishing! The comedy of Keith Bender had us on the floor and aching for more! The buffet and main dining food was delicious and La Cuchina and Cagneys was top of the line! The Regetta shore excursion in Sin Maarten was a real treat and the kyack and snorkel excursion in Antigua were two of our all time favorites. Read Less

We took this cruise because it had the ports we wanted to visit. The shows were very good. We loved the Orchid and O'Sheehans. The food in the Orchid was excellent. WE enjoyed the barbeque by the pool on Sea days and then they went around with mango smoothies and fruit on skewers. They had plenty of seats at the pool even on sea days. The food in the main dining room was ok. The muster stations were inside which was good since it was cold out. Disembarkation went smoothly. We were off the ship at 8:00 AM. Embarkation was slow since the ship came in late. We din't get on the ship until 2:15 PM. We have never been on the NCL smaller ships and were pleasantly surprised. We had an inside cabinet. There was plenty of closet space and drawers to put our clothing away. The bathroom had shelves. The refrigerator kept food nice and cold. The service was very good. We had a very nice time on this ship. it seemed very cozy. Read Less

My friend Mary booked for her husband and 2 boys and then her husband couldn't go and since I had never been on a cruise before and she was hoping to make some money back, she asked me. All went well. I am going again with my mom and two sisters May 1 on the Norwegian Dawn, embarking from Miami. I will bring my own kids someday when they are older and more independent. I am NOT a winter person so leaving from New York City in winter was not ideal for me. I like the water, seeing it all around was peaceful and my only source of privacy, however, I would not do a cruise again that took 3 days of sailing to get to first and last ports. Food was EXCELLENT compared to my experiences at numerous all inclusives, however, top decks of ship were too crowded in warm/hot weather for my taste as no space to move chairs around as packed in like sardines. TONNES to do, a la carte restaurants were terrific (we ate at the French restaurant twice, Italian and Steakhouse each once). Evening shows were amazing as well. I was not impressed by the Antiguan Experience excursion at all for various reasons which I would be happy to outline for Norwegian/Tour Company to try to improve but LOVED my excursion to Marantha Gardens and the volcano on St. Lucia. My other excusions were good too. Read Less

From the moment we stepped on the ship until the morning we disembarked - this vacation for us was one that we will NEVER forget&can hardly wait2do it again!! Our shore excursions - amazing, the activities on the ship - endless, the service - professional, our cabin - perfect (especially having a balcony) - the food, sensational - interaction with the crew and staff, incredible - the entertainment, Broadway worthy!! As you can see we were BEYOND happy with our trip!! Thank you Norwegian Gem&all involved - normally we would come away saying that "we need a vacation from our vacation," - not this time - the length, the relaxation, sun,& fun has left us wanting for more! This was my first cruise, it was chosen by a friend. We had a great time. The food was amazing, the variety of entertainment was impressive and the staff was pleasant & eager to please. The only disappointment was the disorganized process of leaving the ship for excursions and at the end of the cruise. A few people missed their excursions at our first port due to the excessive lines of people winding down the stairs trying to get off the ship. I would definitely use Norwegian again. The value for our money was impressive and sailing from NYC is really convenient for us. We found a bus through Yankee Trails that brought us right to the port. We tried all of the complementary restaurants plus the hibachi restaurant and the Brazilian bbq restaurant and they were worth every penny. It was easy to get reservations. The food was amazing. Overall, a great trip! Read Less

My family invited me on this cruise as a birthday celebration and it was a fantastic experience for the entire family. Lots of fun activities, great food and friendly staff. Our kids enjoyed the many amenities and we never had to worry about them becoming bored. I usually do get seasick which was a concern for me, however I barely felt any movements. The on-board entertainment was excellent. The stateroom was comfortable and well laid for its size. The cleaning staff are very hard workers and respectful individuals. I recommend the drink package, with all that food you need to balance it out with something good to drink. The ship is so beautiful and clean you get the feeling that you are in a 5 star hotel. I ready for my next cruise with Norwegian and their fantastic crew, don’t change anything see you soon. Thank you for a vacation me and my family will never forget. Read Less

Chose this cruise because of 11 nites and the itinerary. Love cruising out of NYC especially since we live in New Jersey. We did have a delay in leaving NYC because of high winds the ship could not dock until the next day...but once on the ship all that was forgotten. Better Safe than Sorry was the motto! The Gem is my favorite ship. The crew is outstanding and they cater to all your needs. It's nice to meet the same staff., like coming home. Food is excellent, bar choices are plentiful. The entertainment on this cruise was the best we have ever had. We enjoyed every show! The music in every bar was also the best. Spent many late nites in the Magnum Bar area for the musical groups. We ate in all the specialty restaurants and again Cagneys was our favorite. Teppanaki is always fun, and LaCucina has the best turimisu in the world! We will be back next year! Read Less

There was something for each of our 7 family members to do all day and night. One could be relaxing and laying in the sun while the others on excursions, the bar, an activity or at the casino. We ate and drank the whole time and found all the food and drink delicious. We liked our drinks a certain way and they were done perfectly! We were accommodated to the best of their abilities! They handled emergency situations with ease. After laying in the sun for only 2 hours while on medication (says stay out of sun) my daughter had 2nd degree burns and the medical staff was amazing! WEAR SUNSCREEN! Embarking and disembarking was smooth and easy. Lastly, the only thing I was shocked about was the size of my cabin... I researched everything but the dimensions. 4 adults do not fit in the inside stateroom! Do not make that mistake. The window or balcony make a huge difference! Spend the money and upgrade! Read Less

Went with a group of family and Friends, 18 of us total. It was our first time going out of NYC, definitely more hectic than leaving from Baltimore. We had a terrible experience waiting for our hotel to pick us up from the port, but I do realize that’s not the ships fault. Took too long to eat in the sit down dining rooms. Buffet is crazy most of the time, seating was not easy to find but I do realize that’s really not anyone’s fault either. Loved o sheehans but they did not seem fully staffed at times. Overall it was a wonderful trip, staff as a whole was not near as friendly as the other cruise lines. The price is significantly higher, probably won’t be returning. Traveled with my 12 year old. He did not join the child’s club at all. Did seem to have issues using the basketball court. Read Less

We love NCL , so always look for a 14 day cruise during the winter. Have cruised on many NCL ships and they keep getting better, some great additions not on the Breakaway, but love that ship also. Crew worked very hard because of the problems on the cruise before us. Entertainment was great always love dueling pianos, After Midnight was wonderful some talented performers. Food is excellent no matter what venue you choose to eat in. We don’t mind paying a surcharge at some of the restaurants well worth it. Service was good staff had to serve everything but didn’t really slow anything down. Great deck plans places to sit and relax all around the pool area. Can’t think of anything negative to say. Do get tired of people always finding something to complain about, from the time they get on the boat to the time they leave. Great time. Read Less

Dream cruise. The escape is my favorite cruise ship in service. It’s incredible for its versatility, I was able to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted from playing full court basketball, to smoking cigarettes at the waves bar, to getting the best massages of my life at the Mandara after a long excursion. Alvin the cruise director was really nice and as a solo traveler I really appreciated him and the way he would party with us at spice later in the evening with other members of his great crew. The onboard entertainment was awesome, I really enjoyed the live pool band that would play around 3 pm, they really helped me relax and enjoy the time. I couldn’t have ever asked or dreamed for a better experience onboard this cruise ship and I would recommend it to all. It’s perfect for couples, family’s or anyone. The ship accomadates so much but the staff is just the greatest part about it, they always prvoided exceptional service from buffet to security to the amazing bartenders they all did the job at an A+ level. The excursions were excellent. Easiest excursion process I’ve ever had and couldn’t be happier. The food was really great from the buffet to cagneys to room service it was all great. Moderno, cagneys and the buffet were my favorites. Extremely clean ship, buffet was extremely sanitized at all times and I couldn’t be happier to see that honestly I was very impressed with the ultra cleanliness of the whole venue. Also some of the best views can be seen from the garden buffet. Very fair balanced ship price wise, lots for all to do. Bowling was fun, especially after throwing back 6-7 vodka sodas. Casino was very fun and well run as well. Entertainment was impressive. Room steward was perfect. Mandara Spa massages were excellent after a long excursion and usually discounted on shore days as well so it works out perfect. The ship accomadates smokers very well with the waves 17 bar being a nice place to enjoy a smoke if you do that. The deck 19/20 area of the ship forward along with deck 8 waterfront provide nice calm quiet at all times and some of the ships best views. Was able to be extremely active on the ship, the fitness center had everything I would ever need along with full size basketball court. Read Less

This was our second time on The Escape and we were not disappointed. Embarkation was a bit chaotic as the ship had a problem with gastroenteritis on the previous cruise to ours. We had to wait a while to get into our cabins and we were late leaving New York. Yes there was extensive sanitizing throughout the cruise and we were not able to serve ourselves in the Garden Café but this did not interfere with our enjoyment of the cruise. We thought the staff were very professional and still very friendly especially as they had an extra work load added to their already busy jobs due to the sanitizing process. The food on this cruise was exceptional. I love a curry and they had one on every day in the garden Cafe. The Speciality restaurants were great, we ate in Cagney's, Moderno, La Cucina, Le Bistro and Bayamo. The service in all was second to none. Our cabin was kept clean and tidy by our hard working steward Jerrry. Anything we needed he provided with a smile. We were amazed at how quickly he would have our cabin serviced, mostly by the time we came back from breakfast. The entertainment on the ship was great, we loved JR in the District, he was very entertaining. After Midnight in the main theatre was like watching a West End show! We loved the themed evenings in Spice H2O there was music for everyones taste. The rope course and crazy golf were also lots of fun. We took a couple of tours from the ship and enjoyed them very much. But our favourite thing to do was to watch the sun go down with a lovely glass of wine in Cellars wine bar on the Waterfront. We were entertained morning, noon and night. We were also made to feel special and well looked after. Dismebarkation was smooth until we got into the cruise terminal. The New York Manhattan cruise terminal cannot handle a ship of this size. All in all we really enjoyed our cruise and cannot wait to take our next one. Read Less

This cruise was the second half of my B2B on the Escape, the first was the 14 day Western Caribbean, 1/6 - 1/20;2019. I've already submitted my review for the first leg. Since I was on the previous sailing I was aware of the issues they had with the noro virus and I was prepared for the sanitary procedures that would be in effect at the start of this cruise (see my previous review for the details). For many, embarkation for this cruise was not as smooth as normal. The plan was to have all passengers disembark with the last group called at 9:30 AM so they would have time to do a thorough cleaning of the ship before passengers for this cruise could board. NCL even sent notices out not to come to the pier before 10 AM. Unfortunately the last passengers did not disembark until after 12:30. This caused a large backup in the cruise terminal which was never designed to hold 5000 passengers. Since I was B2B it didn't affect me since once the ship was cleared I was allowed to go directly to the boarding door (normally on a B2B in NYC you no longer have to get off the ship, they bring customs onboard to clear you for the next cruise, but because of the cleaning I had to disembark this time). I can understand the frustration of passengers waiting to board, but these things happen. Once onboard we were told that due to the extreme cleaning going on, cabins would not be ready at 2 PM as usual. Later in the afternoon we were allowed to drop off our carry on luggage, but many cabins were not ready until later in the evening, since I had the Ultimate Beverage Package, it didn't bother me! The ship was delayed in departing because the CDC was onboard and had to clear the ship before she could leave. Again many passengers were upset, but since I was aware of all going on I was fine and felt sorry for the crew that had been working so long and hard to get the ship ready. We arrived at our first stop, San Juan, a little late, scheduled for 3 PM but arrived around 4:15. Some excursions had to be cancelled. My plan was just to walk around the Old City and hang out at Senor Frog so I had no issues. I went snorkeling in St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Kitts and St. Lucia, all with NCL excursions and had a great adventure each time. The other ports I just walked around and stopped at local pubs. I did this cruise as a solo (my wife was with me the on the first leg but she had to get back to work, I'm retired). I was in an inside cabin, not the Studio. One of the great things about NCL is the solo travelers program they have. They meet every day around 5 PM and a member of the cruise director staff organizes group dinners and shows for the group. Even though I was traveling solo, there were other solo's who I already knew and met many new friends. We had a great time at dinner and shows together. I ate in the MDR, Cagney's, La Cucina, O'Sheehan's. Great meals and service. Overall I had a great experience. I never let the little things bother me. If I have an issue I bring it to the staff's attention and get it resolved. I did have some billing issues but it all got straightened out. I had such a good time, I'll be doing the same B2B on the Bliss next January! Read Less

I booked this cruise because of the itinerary (Christmas AND New Years on the ship). There were no issues with embarkation and disembarkation. Both were fast and convenient. The Gem is a beautiful ship with a lot of things going on during sea days and in the evenings. Because of the Christmas holidays, there were a lot of kids and teenagers on board. There is a bridge viewing room on Deck 11, which I haven't seen on any other ship. On Deck 7, there is a promenade where you can walk around the whole ship. I usually ate at the buffet restaurant. The food was good, and I was always able to get a seat. The waiters there, however, I didn't find very friendly. I went to the MDR a few times for breakfast and dinner, as well as to O'Sheehan's. I found the food in both places very good. My cabin was on Deck 4 and had a porthole window, which was actually bigger than I had expected. I had an unobstructed view and got natural light into the cabin. I think the cabin is big enough for 2 people and there was a lot of storage space. The cabin was a bit noisy though - I heard various ship noises but also the neighbours. I could hear them talking and it frequently sounded as if their kid was jumping off the beds - I heard loud thumps. The other drawback is that, on land days, the gangway is on Deck 4, so there is a lot of traffic of people getting on and off the ship. Even though it was a bit noisy, I enjoyed the cabin. I went on excursions organized through the ship, because I had an excursion credit for each port. Also, since I was by myself, I found it safer to be in a group rather than going out on my own. I enjoyed all excursions, except the one in St. Lucia, where the tour guide was not very good - she wasn't very enthusiastic and seemed like she was bored the whole time. All in all though, I had a really good time on the Gem. It surely was a different way to spend Christmas and New Years. Read Less

This is my 12th cruise on the Gem, twice a year annually since 2012. I love the size of the ship, the food in both the main dining rooms and specialties was great, the lounge entertainment was exceptional, my room was always clean and ready when I needed it. This cruise is ideal for adults, or adults travelling with older teens or young adults. My main purpose to cruising is relaxation, which is readily achieved through the ample pool decks, and pools, separated for adults and children. This cruise does not provide "amusement type amenities" which takes up too much deck space for my liking, but rather is geared towards those who enjoy sun bathing and offers both lively and quite deck spaces. The ports were outstanding: the Southern and Eastern Caribbean out of NYC! The ports offered both interesting excursions through the ship, or were very friendly to those who went to beaches and destinations on their own. Read Less

The shore excursions were a bit expensive so we only did one with the ship in St. Lucia the catamaran snorkeling tour which was great!! The other ports we explored on our own with no issues. The service on this ship was great including Rowan in the Garden cafe singing “Washie Washie so guests would remember to always wash their hands. Then the fabulous Golden Octaves band whose lead singer sang every note to perfection and provided us with beautiful memories. The wonderful “Party Hype Crew” including Alvin the Cruise Director, Rasheeda and Joey they kept our energy levels up. Renee and Natasha in the Dufree shops who provided excellent customer service even though we didn’t win any of the many raffles. This cruise offered great value for our money and we enjoyed every single bit of it. Thank you and see you next time! Read Less

The cruise that wasn't suppose to be. Our original booking was an 11 day Caribbean cruise on the Breakaway leaving March 23 out of NY. Problem Breakaway isn't returning to NY in 2019. Offered replacement on the Escape was Bahamas which we had just done. This cruise was to be for our 35th Anniversary on March 24th 2019 so we wanted something more then a 7 day that we had just done. There go 12 day Southern on the ESCAPE December 9th 2018. After many Itinerary changes we set sail on what is now my second favorite NCL ship, sorry ESCAPE DAWN still has my heart. Embarkation and disembarkation were the smoothest we have had on NCL. No problems on either end of the cruise even though we left late to try and avoid a major storm and returned early due to our 3rd medical emergency of the trip. The ship was great. Very easy to get around on. Lots of options for what ever you had in mind. Only exception is if you're a smoker such as my wife. Smoking areas are getting smaller and fewer on all ships. Our cabin 15756 was awesome, plenty of storage and the deck is one of the best secrets on this type of ship. Our cabin is the last of the Spa balcony and the next cabin is a mini suite. The ship juts out further for the mini suits and therefore our balcony goes from a regular balcony room to the mini suits and is angled out giving us a much larger balcony. With a large overhang above us we are able to enjoy our balcony rain or shine. Only draw back with the balcony is they took away the outside light. Dining, NCL has me a believer in specialty restaurants as we have found comp dining to have bad service. NOT the case on the Escape. Taste Savor and the Manhatten Room all had good food with good service. Taste having the best. The garden Cafe I was disappointed with very hard to get around and find things food was poor. Here is my WARNING stay far away from the early riser breakfast at Margaritville. Worst food I ever had on any ship. Here is what I thought of the specialty restaurants we went to. Teppanyaki is good the show and food are both OK, land base restaurants of this type are better but they have less restrictions. I give this a 3.5 out of 5 Bayamo seafood restaurant extremely disappointing. Selection was very bad food was poor price was extreme Bayamo gets a 2 out of 5 LA CUCINA food and service was very good 4 out of 5 LE BRISTRO was everything I have come to expect from a great French restaurant, great food and service. 4 out of 5 MODERNO if you have never experienced a Brazilian Steakhouse this is a MUST. Great food very service the grilled pineapple is to die for.4.5 out of 5 CAGNEY'S it is NCL's very best of the best 5 out of 5 THE CHOIR OF MAN food is good the entertainment is great the beer is cold and keeps on flowing. For entertainment we didn't do a lot. CHOIR OF MAN was great, went to the art auctions and lectures they were good. Spent a lot of time in the Thermal suite which is AWESOME. Alvin the cruise director which we saw with The Not so New Newlywed Game we found rude insulting and not funny. Felt bad for the couples that were on stage. Alvin hands down worst cruise director we have had on any ship. Service overall was good. Wait staff in the restaurants was very good. Bar service in the casino was fair Crew was helpful and attentive. Our cabin steward was fair, we have had much better on our other NCL ships. Ports were very easy to get on and off the ship. Excursions are good a little on the high price side but still good One final comment here for wasn't sure where to but it. I remember on all my other NCL ships you could get your picture taken in the restaurants and then later decide if you wanted to keep the picture or even have it in your picture book which is our preferred way to keep our memories of the cruise. Here you had to decide to keep it or not then and there at the end of your meal. I am not sure if this is the new fleet wide or not but would like to see it go back to the photo shop so you have options. In closing we loved the cruise and I would do it again Read Less

Seriously, I am tired of reading about so many complaints that I decided to leave my own for the first time. I think some people need to get a life. So many cruisers take the time to complain, but never take the time to say something nice. All they do is moan, moan, and complain. This was our 12th cruise with NCL and we had a great time. The cruise is what you make it. Could we find a few egative things to say, yes? But we choose not to do that and we choose to concentrate on the positive. The entertainment was Broadway quality, the food was amazing, and our room steward was fantastic. She did an amazing job keeping our room clean and was so kind. In fact, we found every worker on the cruise kind and hard working. One of the persons who complained about this itinerary said that we had a canceled stop due to a medical emergency. This is absolutely untrue. Every single stop we made was on time. If this complainer is talking about Puerto Rico, that was canceled months before the cruise took off due to the devastation of the hurricane. There was also complaints about no seafood. Really!? There was seafood on the buffet every single night and day. Honestly, I am not sure what people are looking for, but perhaps they should win the lottery and buy their own freaking yacht and then they can boss around their hired help. This cruise was a lot of fun. The staff was amazing, the food was great, the service and the restaurants and specialty restaurants was awesome, the entertainment was great, and every time we passed an employee they smiled and said hello. We would absolutely do this cruise again and this itinerary. No matter how great something in life is, one can always find something negative to complain about. Perhaps, we should all look at the positive side of life more often. I would love to see the reviews from Norwegian Cruise line staff about how horrible sometimes the passengers are. I’m sure they would not be good at all as we see how horrible sometimes passengers treat the staff with abrupt rudeness, loudness and total disregard of respect. Read Less

Chose NCL Escape for many reasons, newer ship, good pricing, departure port and favorable experiences on my last 13 NCL cruises. My total cruise history including this cruise now stands at 31. Ninety minutes after leaving my apartment my 73 year old younger brother and I were onboard the Escape. That time included a ride to the train station, two trains and one taxi ride to get it to the pier from Penn Station. The food was really good, I ate in specialty restaurants eight of the twelve nights and i enjoyed each and every one of them. I please to see that NCL is now offering so many options in their complimantary dining venues. O'Sheenan's and the buffet had nightly specials that were always so tempting. Did have a prime rib at O'Sheenan's that was really good and my bother raved about it. Wanted to try the seafood basket but had specialty restaurant reservation on the nights that it was available at O'Sheenan's. The buffet always had something to my liking, the desserts seem to have gotten to be a lot better. The chicken tenders with the mustard sauce and the pretzel bread were things that I alway had if they were available. Breakfast was great too, ate more fresh fruits in twelve days than I think I had in the last twelve months. Didn't go to any of the shows, at my age I find them loud and i enjoy the peace and quite on deck. Did watch a movie one night out on the back deck and really enjoyed that. Every morning I would partake in the daily activities in the Atrium, Sudoku and Trivia things that I really enjoy doing. In the afternoon is was quiet time on the confortable chairs on the Waterfront or a game of two or three of cribbage with my brother. Having been to all these islands so many times over the years I don't do excursion any more. Usually just hangout in the shopping areas alongside the ports when we are in port. These things might not be excititng to most but I enjoy what I do and that's what crusing is all about, just doing your own thing or little or nothing at all. Read Less
