We have sailed with RCL several times aboard the Explorer, Quantum and Anthem. It seems to us that RCL is cheaping out. There is no filet mignon offered in the dining tables unless you want to pay more. Would one night kill RCL's budget to offer filet mignon? Better bring your own body lotion, cause if you booked anything below a suite it's not going to be in your cabin. Your steward will get it for you, but have to ask. The soda machines work some of the time. But never all of the time. Seems like a lot of money for machines that don't work. The shampoo is in a dispenser on the shower wall... like Carnival. RCL used to be a quality cruise line. Now it's just OK, how sad. On a brighter note, our cabin steward, wait staff in the dining room and managed in the dining room were excellent. They could not do enough for the guests. Read Less

Best time of year for my time off. Embarking ship in Cape Liberty was very efficient and took very little time. Bermuda is an excellent island and safe to get around. Transportation on the island is very user friendly. Would have preferred Caribbean islands but were not available for the time I needed. Music on the ship was excellent along with the headliner shows. All the main dining room meals were great. Disembarkation in Boston was poor to put it mildly. It appeared that customs had extra officers onboard which caused a delay. Always put safety first but some communication would have helped. Boston is a nice city but the short amount of time allocated doesn't do it justice. I would have preferred more time in Bermuda and not gone to Boston. Disembarkation in Cape Liberty ran pretty smoothly as the lines kept moving. Traffic leaving the port area was a breeze. Read Less

I went on this cruise with friends which i usually do so i always go with the flow. The ports such as Bar Harbor were exceptional as was portland maine. The 2 ports in Halifax and New Brunswick in Canada were sub par. New Brunswick was a run down town and had absolutely nothing within walking distance. the town was simply boring. Halifax had a decent museum. The dining experience outside of 1-2 nights our service was so so in the main dining room & the my time dining setup was a disaster from the very 1st day. Noone told us until we got to the dining room that you had to make a reservation for my time dining. It got fixed by the 3rd night but by then the damage was already done. the late night food selection was terrible. it was pizza or some cheap excuse for a sandwich. other ships had more food to choose from. the selection was just average. Our cabin attendant was just horrible and kept forgetting to give us towels at least 4 times. We had to ask for them over and over as well as having a poor excuse for a refrigerator. David Curtis who played piano and was hilarious all week with his random singing of the best songs. He kept us busy and often stayed well past his allotted time. Simply put he was the best cruise entertainment i ever saw in the 5 cruises I have been on. He made the cruise for me. Otherwise this ship is dated and not all that exciting. Read Less

We attended this cruise with the guest Dance school that preformed on-board twice, which my daughter was part of. Food was excellent. I found windjammers to serve a bit to heavy foods for lunch. but everything was great. Solarium Bistro which served Mediterranean food was the best on board. We where in the mytime and classic dinning rooms and food was always great and great staff. a little disappointed in Johnny Rockets was a pay burger place where other cruise lines have higher end burger joints for free. Lots of activities and with 3 teen each with there own interests and physical levels all had fun and where kept busy. App for bookings suck for multi room bookings and dinner reservation system needs work. every morning we booked a mytime dinning with my family spread out into 3 rooms they never had us on the master list that evening and always had issues. even if we where first inline in the morning to book. They need to work out that list. wonder if it is printed the night before before they open up the daily bookings in the morning. makes no sense. BOOK YOUR SHOWS and ACTIVITIES THE MINUTE YOU BOOK YOUR CRUISE!!!! with almost 5000 guest there is not enough space to accommodate everyone for everything. We missed out on the GIFT, and others in our group of 40 missed out on other shows as they where full. Also book IFLY, surf, breakout room and any other activity you can. you will regret it if you don't as you will miss out. Even if you don't make it at least you had the opportunity. If you don't pre book you might not get that opportunity. We missed out on Breakout room and the Gift because of it. Love the Pizza joint being open till late late at night. always stopped in for pizza after drinking and parting 1-2am every night. helped relieve the hang over. lol. Recommend this for families as your teens will be highly entertained. even if they are a recluse like my son is, he actually loved the activities, Teens lounge and all the activities they did. He is a schedule kinda guy so it fit him perfect. Never saw him at all which was a huge surprise to us. Also great for the party type, great fun had in the music hall ever night, alot is kid friendly as well for those girls in our group 11-18 who just want to go and dance with the big kids. lol. Happy about that , still wish the food was like it use to be. The buffet use to be open at midnight . It is no longer open , They use to have an ice sculptures and food on pool side night . They didnt have a show in the dining room. A lot has changed . A little disappointed. My family members were a little disappointed as well . What I told them about wasn’t what they experienced. They still had a good time . It definitely could have been a better experience for everyone . The kids wanted to take the tour of the ship . $89 for a ship tour . Everything is so pricey . I wasn’t happy with telling the kids they could’nt take the tour. It was very expensive if you have 3 kids and 2 adults. Read Less

We were a family group of 12 adults from NY & Boston. We chose this cruise based on the departure port and ports of call. It was affordable and the departure port was easy to get to. We all did our online check in so once at the pier we were on the ship in a few minutes. We arrived by 11am and on the ship by 11:30am. Staff was great from the start. WJ was packed so we headed to the Cafe Promenade for lunch. Cabins were ready by 1pm and were clean and comfy. We had an aft balcony cabin 7674. Views were great throughout the sailing. Very quiet location as well. We had late seating in the MDR at 8pm. We missed some trivia games because of this. Dinner was served promptly and we were done by 9:15 most nights. The food was good but I do agree with some others that the quality has changed. Some dishes lacked flavor but we never went hungry. Our head waitress was great but her assistant was very inexperienced. She was better on day 3 though after being spoken to. Hand sanitizer could be found throughout the ship. WJ breakfast was the same everyday and the food was tasty. MDR breakfast was good. Lunch in the WJ was the same everyday and I did not care for the choices. I was looking for cold cuts (deli meat) but that was only served at breakfast. Cafe promenade was good. Ports of call were good BUT we didn't get off the ship at Port Canaveral so we could take advantage of the slides being less crowded. To our surprise they were closed while we were in port. No pool activities or music either. We were surprised because more than half the passengers stayed on board. Shops were closed too. Coco Cay was nice and we went to the beach where the floating bar was. It was less crowded and we had no problem finding shade. We saw a huge stingray by the waters edge as soon as we arrived. We also saw a juvenile lemon shark (about 3 ft long) swim by a few feet in front of us. I ran out of the water but my cousin stayed. He ended up circling the floating bar and my husband almost jumped on him when he was exiting the bar. The bartender chases the shark away and he never caused a problem. Nassau was great and we had been there several times before. We knew to go to Cabbage beach. We were brought to a touristy area and were harrassed by locals selling umbrellas, lounges and drinks as well as water sports. We stayed on a resort there before and had not seen it this bad. We simply said no thank you and they eventually left us alone. My son's friend has recognized one of the bartenders from the beach bar from a previous trip. He hooked us up with coconut drinks. We rented an umbrella farther away from the crowd and enjoyed the crystal clear water for the day. Taxis were accessible by the port and readily available by the beach. All activities on board were great and CD was good. Bingo was held in the Imperial Lounge which was too small to accommodate all who attended and we ended up sitting on the floor. There is plenty to do on this ship. The white party was lame. My adult children thought it was awful. No CD or anything just music playing on the sports deck. I couldn't figure out why we needed to wear white either? No black lights or anything. The lines for the slides weren't too bad and moved quickly. Last night of the cruise bars closed earlier as I think they were trying to get passengers to bed for disembarkation the following morning. We saw crew members clean all surfaces and smelled bleach so they do a great job disinfecting. Disembarkation was a breeze. Our number was called and a crew member grabbed us off a long line and brought us to the front of the ship. Our sea pass cards were swiped and as easy as it was getting on the ship, it was just as easy getting off. We had 2 medevacs this sailing and the captain kept us well informed. The first medevac was on day 2. We had to sail closer to the SC shore so the coast guard could pick up the patient. We arrived in Port Canaveral about an hour late. The captain kept us well informed but sped up as to not make us any later. It caused the ship to rock a bit more. The 2nd medevac happened in Nassau. We were pulling out of the port and only 5 min into the trip we were backing up into the port again. An ambulance arrived to take the patient to the hospital and away we went. We arrived on schedule in Bayonne. All in all it was a great family vacation but we did see a few changes that were made since our last Royal cruise. Staff was great but quality of food has changed. With that said we would still chose Royal again. Read Less

I just got off yesterday and DO NOT recommend it. I have been on a number of cruises and this was my 1st RC cruise, so I am unsure whether the ship or the company (or both) is poorly run, but my guess (based on the interactions prior to sailing with the website and 800 #) is that it is both. About the food - it is not overall good, But the food in the main dining room is good and the Solarium restaurant - but only for dinner. At the other meal times, the food is the same as the Windjammer (which is the buffet) - and this is nothing special at all. And, they do not have anywhere near enough seating. The lack of accommodations is an overall theme for the ship - they obviously gave up accommodations so they could jam in more cabins. They fit 4,967 guests on the ship but do not have the accommodations for that many people. they are constantly running out of supplies. On day 6 of our 9 day cruise, a woman at our table wanted ketchup for something, and was told they had run out. This was typical. They have an awful space, called two70, where they hold some shows. Unless you get there hours (literally) early to save a seat, you cannot see a thing. there are probably 20 good seats in the place. And, while they have a projection screen, they don't use it well. During the Quest show, most of the time, instead of showing what was happening on the stage, they showed the Quest logo - lots of people just walked out. They also have shows that are not announced on the Compass (their list of activities) - there were dance productions on the last day that were not listed anywhere. And, it was raining that day so a lot of people were looking for something to do. Again, very poorly run ship The staff will give you 5 different answers if you ask 5 different people - they generally do not know what they are talking about. As one example, because the ship was swaying so much, shows had to be canceled and rescheduled. They would announce the re-scheduled day and time, so if you had tickets that's when to show up. Seems pretty straightforward, right? Except, guest services told you that you had to re-book, contradicting what was announced. And, the paper Compass listing said the same thing as the announcement, but the digital versions of they Compass on the screens said the same thing as Guest Services -- confusing. Thus type of thing was typical on the cruise. And, it seems RC is nickle and diming you on everything. For example, now if one adult gets a drink package, all adults in the stateroom also have to buy a drink package. One day, they had cotton candy available in one spot on the main floor. But, you had to pay $3 for it - seriously? Their sea passes now cannot have holes punched in them, so you pretty much have to have a lanyard that has a plastic pouch, or buy it from them for $9. etc., etc. Also, I think the ship's stabilizers do not work correctly. I was speaking with a travel agent, and she said the same thing. We did hit a rough sea day, and that is fine. One cannot control the weather and, given the size and power of the Atlantic, any ship can have a rough time. But, you could feel the ship moving and swaying, noticeably, on the other days, too. And, you could feel the engines running, especially when they started and stopped on the port days. That just doesn't seem right. Our waitstaff at dinner were great as was Travis, who was our iFly instructor. But overall, I do not think the staff care too much about the passengers. Again, a reflection of how the ship is managed and run, I believe. Below, I gave the cabin an average rating b/c the room was actually nicer and larger than expected. But, the cabin attendant was awful. Given the price tag, you can find a much more enjoyable cruise - try NCL, my experiences on their ships were always good. I hope this was helpful to you. Read Less

Crew was awesome and very attentive to all the guest needs. Shows were great. Shore excursions were also good. Bartenders were awesome. The guest were always informed. The casino was paying out great. We had the beverage package for my son which paid off and we had the adult beverage package which I think Royal Caribbean lost on. The food in the Windjammer buffet was always fresh and had a large variety of different flavors to pick from. Sometimes it got a little busy all at once and got crowded, but everything seemed to flow just fine. Our rooms were very nice. The cleaning staff was very good and handled any of our request. The customer service area would get busy at times but the staff there could handle anything that came their way. Very well experienced. We asked for a certain frozen drink that the bartender did not know, but he did not hesitate to find out how to make it for us. He was pretty close his first time making it. But got it perfectly the second time. I would recommend this cruise line to anyone wanting a great cruise experience. Read Less

Guy on bike was good too. Food was excellent, service and staff were awesome. Food in windjammer had good variety, wonderful presentation. Crowded at times but staff were quick to clean and make space. Main dining dinner food was good. Good presentation as well. Sorrentos pizza overall ok. One night they were slinging cheese pizza only that was burnt and not good try to keep up with the demand. Desserts are awesome. A bit crowded and bad elevator wait times. Leon always had room and br clean. Everyone was Very friendly. Heard and saw a couple of arguments and fights among family members towards end of cruise. I guess that is to be expected. Spoiled kids and drunk parents. One lady was drunk in her scooter and almost ran over another cruiser in elevator....need special elevator for disabled. We had a wonderful experience and my only criticism is the process in which they handled the tendering at Coco Cay. The food and service were excellent. The ship was super clean, classy and fun! The entertainment was terrific and there was never a lack of something to do. The cruise director, Chloda was absolutely outstanding and had us constantly laughing and looking forward to the next activity! We loved the comedians, magicians, singers and dancers. They even had an ice show! I was super impressed with how well the crew handled a medical emergency and coast guard rescue from the ship.....well done! I had a few friends that had things go wrong and the staff went out of their way to try to resolve it as fast as possible and to their satisfaction as well. Read Less

The staff was fantastic so even when the food wasn'tgreat they did their best to fix any issues. Only negatives were the outside pool was smaller than we thought it should be as well as reservations for certain activities were a bit difficult to get. There was plenty to do for everyone. The ship is kept super clean and the staff is very nice.. the shows were great too. Such talented people. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Bermuda was amazing. My daughter's dance studio decided to book a cruise to Bermuda with the intention of performing a redacted version of this years dance recital..... Day 1 Embarkation - The Embarkation process went as smoothly as I would expect with 5000 people trying to get on the boat. We all went to Windjammer buffet when on board and the place was a MADHOUSE (a second eating spot might be a decent idea). Our rooms were not ready until 1pm (as advertised) and we settled in rather quickly exploring the boat and getting setup for the next 5 days. Dinner in the main dining room (American Icon Grill) was nice with a courteous staff (despite some language issues). We then visited the SEAPLEX to play some basketball and I was not thrilled with the setup (50+ people trying to shoot basketball on a 1/2 court with 4 balls). I finally got an organized game going to make it a little less hectic (NO STAFF AROUND AT ALL)... Day 2 AT SEA - Woke up and went to Windjammer for an early breakfast before rehearsal. The performance was in a THE MUSIC HALL (a small venue with a small stage and a big bar) The studio decided to use the dance floor as a performance stage because the stage still had musical equipment on it. The dance floor was inadequately cleaned from the night before which made performers have footing issues (made worse by the rocking of the boat in rough seas). Unlike other dance studios on the boat "OUR" performance was not "advertised" so our audience was limited. Between rehearsal and performance we took to SEAPLEX and the main outside pool... (The main outside pool had a max capacity of 29 people (WTH) with over 5000 on board.). Myself and a few others took the initiative and printed up little playbills of our performance and distributed them on stateroom doors. The performance went well and we followed that with dinner that was better than the 1st night ... pleasant surprise.. THE GIFT! Excellent Show Day 3 Bermuda - Debarkation was quick with no issues and Re-Embarkation went well also. Dinner in Windjammer was ok for the buffet it was, Spectra's Cabaret was a LETDOWN but late night adult comedy was good and plenty of good seating was available. Day 4 Bermuda - Debarkation was quick with no issues and Re-Embarkation went well also. Dinner at the main dining room with friends was nice and the waiter from Day 2 (not our waiter this time) came over to check on us and see if everyone was doing ok (HORMAZ - American Icon Grill). The Quest was AWESOME!!! SMH moment though (buffet closes at 9 every night)(only 2 side by side places open after 9 for "included food") Day 5 AT SEA - We Will Rock You musical, AWESOME show! SMH moment here, We had upgraded to a Family Jr Suite and one of the "perks" was dinner at one of the specialty restaurants (Coastal Kitchen). The staff was nice but tried to oversell the menu which was for all intents and purposes was identical to the main dining rooms (The waiter tried to assure us that our food was being specifically prepared to order unlike the main dining rooms. Again Late night adult comedy was a highlight Day 6 DEBARKATION - Breakfast was a cluster... grouping in venues for debarkation was odd to say the least (only prior experience on cruise is Disney which does it way different) and was very long... The Good... Most of the Shows, the food in the dining rooms, most of the staff, and my fellow cruisers. The Cruise Director did a good job being present The Bad... The seeming push for spending extra money, the design of the ship with in regards to filling spaces with revenue producing spots. The SMALL main outside pool, Lack of "included" food spots after 9pm. My 8 yr old daughter was 2 months away from her 9th birthday and was unable to join ALL her 9,10, and 11 yo friends she was on the cruise with in the kids clubs The Ugly... RCCL is defintely more in tune with revenue generation than in customer experience Read Less

We planned this Bermuda trip along with all our local friends and family. In all we were 10 families 42 people including kids and parents. It is a beautiful ship, big and having lot do in there though they lack in interesting shows and events. Communication of what is where and activities was poor. Food was mediocre, cut fruits were all over ripe though there was enough variety of food to choose from for Vegetarian and non vegetarian customers. Drinks were plenty though some of the booze did not taste as original. I would watch the cutlery as washers may skip some times. In all the cruise was a blast for kids, adults and parents. We planned some private functions which they allowed and organized for us. Thanks for that. I am not thrilled with shows but still recommend it to all if one wants to got to Bermuda or use Royal Caribbean cruise line. Bon Voyage :) Read Less

We traveled aboard the Addventure of the Seas with a party of sixteen, ranging in age from 6 to 72. Each person was extremely satisfied with their personal experience. We arrived within our scheduked boarding time and did not experience a line. I personally found time to relax, explore the ship, bask in the sun and engage in conversations with fellow travelers. The shows were very good but I would have enjoyed more variety, shows that would have gotten me on my feet preferably shows from the Motown and American Bandstand era. Our Jr. Suite was roomy and well maintained. The stateroom attendant was excellent never intrusive, always on point and performed his tasks around our schedule. Although the formal dining room provided excellant service with a variety of food, the WindJammer was our favorite. Most of our group visited on a regular basis and each time found a great variety of food that suited our taste perfectly. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of scheduling our cruise while on baord. However, our little travel group is in the process of deciding our next destination. We are 99% sure it will be aboard a Royal Caribbean ship. Read Less

Very little kids activities, one kid movie at night the entire cruise, other R.C. ships have Shrek and other characters but not this cruise line. Guest services was horrible, second time for this issue. R.C. should take a page out of Disney and Chick Fil a's regarding customer service. Guest services on R.C. clearly do not care or want to be there. see pictures for little play area which the slide does not allow kids under 42 inches and the smaller area does not permit kids that are not in diapers. Sucked for my 40.5 inch five year old. Too put this in perspective, my mother-in-law had just got back from a cruise with a friend of hers the week before our trip. She was on one of the newer ships with R.C., Harmony of the Seas. There was so much more to do. She has been on 7-8 cruises with R.C. over the past 12 years and was severely disappointed in this cruise. So much that she is thinking of looking into other cruise lines. This is shocking to me because she has sworn by R.C. for over a decade. I would suggest looking at other cruise lines or a different R.C. ship if you have young travelers. Even though when you book through an R.C. travel agent they recommend Adventures of The Seas for kids, which only frustrates me more. We spent a lot of money on this cruise and to get back from a seven-day cruise to have our kids say the best part of the trip was the hotel in New Jersey prior to boarding the ship is disheartening. We chose this cruise because we wanted to go after the school year ended, as our 4 children range in ages from 9-16. Embarkation was a breeze, since our group consisted mostly of pinnacle members and suite guests. We were walking onto the ship within 20 minutes of arriving at the port, which was awesome. Of course everyone who boards the shop is anxious to have that first meal in the windjammer, so be prepared to get lost in a literal sea of hungry people looking for a table. It is insane. There is a gluten free station at the very back of the windjammer and there’s almost always empty tables in that area even on embarkation day. The food in the windjammer is very good and you can find almost anything you might be in the mood for. Just don’t expect to have an easy time especially at breakfast and lunch and especially if you have a family that needs a decent size table. The place is enormous but even so, it gets crazy in there. On day 1 I checked out the diamond lounge since I am a diamond plus member. I was helping myself to a cappuccino when the under counter fridge door fell on my leg, and the jagged rusty metal scraped my thigh. I brought it to the attention of a lounge server and she told me I must have been kicking the door for it to fall on me. She was very rude and clearly was afraid of being in trouble because the door was not attached, in fact it was leaning on the side of the counter and it tipped over, falling on me. Maybe they are trained to not take responsibility for occurrences like this? Adventure Ocean- my 9 year old wanted to attend some of the activities in adventure ocean. They have a room for 9-11 year olds. She loved the activities. However, my husband and I both noticed that the staff that runs this room were not friendly AT ALL. I undertand people maybe have a bad day or maybe working with kids all day might be stressful but not one smile came from any of the staff, not even eye contact. The room was usually staffed by a couple younger women and they always looked miserable. I’ve been cruising with royal since I was young enough to attend the kids program (now I’m 39) and I always remember the staff being extremely friendly, very fun and upbeat, full of energy. These girls clearly hate this job and probably shouldn’t be working with kids if you can’t make eye contact or smile at the parents. Our daughter said they were never unkind and she seemed to want to go back so hopefully they’re a little nicer to the kids than they are to the parents. Coastal Kitchen- as suite guests we had the privilege of eating in coastal kitchen. It was the highlight of the cruise. The service is top notch. And the food is fantastic. They manage to keep the atmosphere non-stuffy but dignified. We ate almost every meal in coastal kitchen and loved every minute. The ports of call were all awesome. Puerto Rico feels a little unsafe and so does St Maarten. So be cautious with belongings and bags etc. There is a sniffing dog when you get back on the ship in Puerto Rico. That should tell you something. The water taxi in St Maarten takes you to a nice beach for swimming. Bermuda is always an amazing place to visit. Our fave is Horseshoe Bay but dear god there were a million people there and crowded beaches are the pits. When you want to swim there are so many people in the water it feels claustrophobic. Labadee is of course absolutely beautiful. We had access to barefoot beach which made the visit a thousand times more enjoyable. They transport you from the ship to the entrance of the barefoot beach and they have a separate lunch buffet with a little better selection. If you do the wave runners be prepared to be approached by locals on row boats trying to sell their hand made items. They do even try to grab onto your wave runner at times and they are very persistent. It’s annoying and honestly a little concerning with all the civil unrest in Haiti. And after you pay 130 for that experience they could at least find a way to keep them away. On board there were many things for the kids to stay busy. Arcade, bumper cars, trapeze school, escape room, flow rider, i fly, 3D movies in the royal theater on sea days, North Star, just to name a few. The sea plex is great for the kids and kids at heart. One thing however that I can’t for the life of me understand is the pool area. They have this tiny outdoor pool with a limit of 29 bodies. There are over 4000 passengers. The outdoor pool area is kind of a joke. There are maybe 50 seats (at the most) to be had if you want to be anywhere near the pool and in the sun. People literally FIGHT to get these seats, and you have to get up at like 5 am to go and grab up a seat or seats if you’re lucky. Fighting over pool chairs is stressful. But if you’re like most cruisers you want to sit in the sun, near the pool. For the life of me I will never understand why they make a tiny pool with relatively few chairs for a ship of 4000+ passengers. People literally just pack into the pool like sardines and stand there. And if you can’t find a spot to stand then the edges /steps fill up with sitters hoping to keep cool at the edge. Kinda gross when you think about it. No thanks. My biggest issue on this trip though, was about halfway through we were awoken by an extremely offensive odor in the middle of the night. It woke me up around midnight. We were up until about 2:30 am airing out our cabin by propping open the cabin door and balcony door at the same time. I can’t even imagine the smell in a room without a balcony it must have been horrendous. The smell was a combination of burnt onion/garlic mixed with rubber and skunk. It was coming out of the a/c vent in our room. We made call after call just to make sure there was not something wrong on the ship. It was extremely strong. We were given 5 different answers by different staff members about what the smell was. It only affected one side of the ship and about 4 of the decks. The smell lingered for days in the rooms and hallways. At times you could smell the air fresheners they must have sprayed to try and cover it up. We had concerns that it was something serious not only by the way it smelled but also the way it was blamed on many various things by different crew members we talked to. Some said Johnny Rockets. Some said windjammer. Some said it was an issue in the a.c. ventilation. Some said it was a human error. Some said it was burnt onions. Some said it was burnt rubber. Some said they never smelled anything (yeah right) even though they worked on that deck and it was so strong it was nauseating. We never got answers about what we inhaled that night. But two of my kids ended up with sore throats from it. This trip was a much needed family getaway and overall we enjoyed our 9 days and didn’t want to see it end, in spite of the issues. The anthem is a beautifully done ship and there’s much fun to be had. I’ll most likely go again for the simple fact that I live relatively close to Bayonne and don’t have to fly. If I could go back on the Oasis without flying I’d prefer that. It felt less crowded and more to do without waiting in a stinking line or fighting through crowds for every. single. thing. Read Less

I just came back from Adventure Of The Seas ... It was my first cruise and it was amazing from the beginning to end ! ... Getting on the ship in Cape liberty was quick ... The boat brings ur lunch on the beach which was cool and that’s Royal Caribbean’s island so all the drinks were free if u had the package there’s all little huts and hair braiding there’s even a bar in the water ... Florida we went went to the beach with the shuttle it brought us right there and right back bet relaxing... Nassau we did the Belmont island and that was gorgeous!!! We chose this cruise for the itinerary and I was celebrating my birthday. Embarkation at Port Liberty was very smooth and well organized. We chose a 10:30 am check in time and were able to board the ship immediately. We were not allowed to access our cabin (oceanview 7504) till 1pm. It gave us plenty of time to explore the ship and order cocktails. The Wind Jammer was open for lunch and provided a lot of food choices, Food was tasty,We endured the muster drill and we left the port on time. First day at sea there were plenty of available lounge chairs on the pool decks and serenity area. Service was excellent and attentive. Port Canaveral FL- Embarkation was smooth we chose the Cocoa Beach Shuttle. The shuttle was readily available when we got off the ship. We stopped at Ron Jon's Souvenir shop and picked up a couple of things. Nice store very large and inexpensive. The bus dropped off one block away from the souvenir shop and six blocks from the beach. It was a very hot day so we shopped and got back on the bus which ran every 30 minutes. Missed the beach. I heard it was nice. Cocoa Cay- Not so nice. It took us an hour to get on a tender to shore. Embarkation didn't seem organized. They didn't have several tender boats ready for us so it took some time. We had booked a sun lounger for two. Needless to say the sun loungers were very far away from the souvenir shops, buffet and bars. We were traveling with friends so when we arrived to claim our sun lounger the lady checking us in was a little nasty. At first she wouldn't allow for our friends to enjoy this (private area). Only after bickering with her for ten minutes did she allow for our friends to pull up lounge chairs next to our sun shade. The buffet lunch offered was only till 1:30 pm. We docked at noon spent an hour getting off the ship therefore only had 1 half hour to eat. Very disappointing. We had to be shuttled over to the buffet area. The food was adequate. Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn and tasteless bbq ribs and peppered chicken. We weren't impressed with the beach either. It low tide so you had to walk a mile to get out to the ocean. Walking on sand flats were no fun. So we went back to the ship and enjoyed ourselves there. Nassau- We took the Essential Nassau tour very nice and informative. Visited a rum cake bakery, rum distillery, queens steps and Atlantis Hotel. This was a great tour. We missed a lot of the shows. Our dinners took about two hours. Don't miss the ICE show. That was great! Overall we had a nice time on the cruise. Eat at Johnny Rockets Great burgers! Read Less

We did not want to fly to a port so we sailed from NJ port Cruise to Bahamas with RC the first stop was Port Canaveral gaving me a chance to visit NASA and see the historical space flight exhibits and rockets. For that we did the ships shore excursion. Others who went to beach did not enjoy their day. Next was CoCoCay, a relaxing day on the beach with a great feast and Caribbean music. Taking a tender to and from the island was fun and a photo opt on this beautiful day. Nassau was a crowded port with 6 cruise ships docked. Free bus shuttle service was provide from ship to entrance building though not announced. We found it when returning. Took a private tour. Sorry we did not use the ships. It took us to a tee shirt factory and a tea shop passing many of the historical sites up. Yeah, the cabin was small but with the balcony we had great views. Two people could manage the closet and bathroom space. Suite cases could be stored under the bed and I used as extra dresser. Variety of cruise activites listed daily in the Compass were good with something for each person to choose. We planned "My Time Dinner" at restaurant where the food and service was excellent. Found out you can have more than one dinner/desert. We had an opportunity to learn who our staff was and talked to them about their lives and jobs. We saw shows including a great ice skating show. When the ship was at sea I had balance issues holding on to rails and standing next to something wa necessary. I felt it on day one. By the third day others began to feel it as the ocean became rough. I would go again but maybe a 4 day cruise out of Miami with less time at sea. Read Less

Please think twice if you are going to plan your wedding onboard anthem of the seas. There is hardly any coordination and nothing flowed or went easily including any of the extras offered. The ceremony is rushed and so was photograph because they had other activities to attend. It's a once in a lifetime experience and you want to get someone who cares. Photographer wasn't even available for the time we needed. Really sad. Coordinator showed up 10 mins before wedding while guests were already there. Had to ask for chairs to be set up for guests. Decorations were being put up as guests were sitting there. The reservations all changed times, people showed up late, etc. The other hospitality staff onboard really make you feel welcomed however. The boat is clean and well maintained. The extra charges at the end of the trip are a little extreme however. This is an expensive cruise to start and to pay an extra $1000 on board was a surprise. Internet is extremely expensive as well. Overall feeling is that you are just another person out of the 4500 on board. Read Less

Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean All great Company offer us to go on a nice cruise. I have read a ton of complains some fare some a little bit unfair, but all depends on your own expectations and your own investigation(prep) before you booked the cruise. The Anthem of the Seas is not 1 of the bigger Ships of the Royal Caribbean Fleet and that means that need to cut on a ton of things you will see on the Oasis and Quantum class. However the Anthem still managed to have a I-fly, Flowrider, Rock Climing, Seaplex with Bumper Cars, Roller Skating, Trapeze, The Music Hall, Baleros, Schooners Bar, Two70 Theater and so on. The balcony cabin we had was very expensive but spacious with a lot of storage space. However I was an little but surprised just like a lot of others that there was no Deck(white) party on embarkation day or any other sea day! I was missing that a lot, after cruising for over 8 times with Carnival and Norwegian. There still are a few things that could be improved to make the time on the Anthem of the Cruise much better. Smoking area: They Should not be smoking near any of the public areas and the smoking areas shouldn’t have been on the 15th or 16th. It should be far away from any public pass through Areas in and in an open and well ventilated area. Food: For one the food on the main diner and Windjammer was nothing more than normal. Nothing special and not very much an Variety of Foods. I expected way more for the money you pay for this cruise. Maybe you will have a better experience if you eat in one of the paying diners, but I expected more than everyday mash potato carrots broccoli as a side dish. Nothing had something like ““ooh I can’t wait to try that again” everything seemed under seasoned and sometimes tasteless.”: Like someday else had told me and yes I agree with that person. The entertainment where okay some nice than the others like Spectra 1 of the better shows. I know the size of the ships doesn’t help but the they were trying to sell everything anywhere. Every day the nice quieted Promenade was stuck just like a shopping mall and on the TV. Where were the normal TV Channels? A lot of the workers on the cruise ship where very friendly, but a couple of them working the activities where lacking of creating a smile on their face to give us an smile on our faces. For example when we were trying out the rock climbing. And the 1 guys had 1 of the most frumpy face ever and other one only hooked the children and turned his face and keep talking with a couple of girls sitting on the chairs little the small children trying to climbing on/falling off the wall. And Instead of helping the small children with Rock-climbing. We probable not coming back to Royal we paid a lot of money to come to this cruise from Europe to have this experience which not wat we expected, liked and so on. This cruise was planned as a part of the agency that I work for. With myself included, we had 23 people in my group. They had a blast as did I. The embarkation was so smooth, I couldn’t believe it. We were through and on the ship in less than an hour and with such a large group, I thought it would take forever. All of the excursions were great and fun. I will say that if you are planning to go to the beach and you have a motorized wheelchair, let them know in advance so you won’t pay for a ticket and then need a cab to get to the beach. This happened to me with my group. It all worked out and I was refunded for the tickets and he still had the beach experience. I have always loved Royal Caribbean and has been my go to cruise line. Did the online check In so the wait was minimal, however, the check in staff wasn't friendly just focused. The pull out bed mattress was stained and the cleaning crew had to steam clean it. We never received the towel animals in our room and the bathroom always smelled like urine. This cruise ship nickels and dimes you for things that should be free. No 24 hour food, like most cruises. Some of the shows were excellent - spectra Cabaret. Long wait times when calling guest services. The response time for an injured passenger was concerning. No additional follow up or concern for the injured. Requests made to guest services required multiple follow ups before request were satisfied. The wait staff at dinner was amazing. His name was Artika and he was very attentive and remembered every request and would ensure each night we had those request before we asked. Read Less
