Where to start: First, we have sailed nineteen times and experienced an array of American AND European cruise products from RCCL, Princess, Costa, P&O, NCL, Holland America etc. The experiences of these diverse products have collectively informed my opinion of our MSC experience. MSC is NOT for the American market share rather, this European line is clearly after the sustainability of the European market share. American products by and large, do not charge a consistently high price for the cruise and then, charge clients for water while on board. Yes... MSC does this. Not even Costa does this. We paid over 3k for our cruise (similar and consistent to what we have paid for with other products like RCCL, Costa, Princess etc.) but while on board the MSC product we were charged for water.... we were amazed, perplexed and terribly disappointed. Its also important to note -what MSC USA sold us was not what we experienced onboard. When we pointed out the discrepancies on board we were told to take it up with MSC USA when we got home. We did, they did nothing to satisfy or settle our issue. We purchased the Fantastica experience, were told drink packages were included - then they somehow were not included. When we argued they were - we were told we had to buy a drink package which we did for our two children (non alcoholic package) and 1 adult alcoholic package. Only to get on board and be told we shouldn't have done that in fact it was included in our package and when we asked to have the initial prepaid packages we purchased refunded they said - sorry it wasn't included... The only thing which we felt was consistent was the inconsistency between what was sold and what we expected to what we actually experienced onboard. Other things we felt were important to note. The excursions - expensive but of little to no substance; again, representing to us an imbalance between what we paid for and what we actually experienced. We purchased several excursions through MSC - and quickly spent MORE TIME transiting to the excursions than we actually did enjoying the place we were visiting. This happend to us in both Arles France and Portofino. In Arles, we spent 3 hours on a bus to experience the town for only an hour. While in Portofino, same things - we paid a fortune to go to Portofino and spent three hours transiting there only to spend an hour IN Portofino... Very little value for money. Similarly, MSC twice docked at a port which they charged a fee to go from the Port facility to the town.... We were left shaking our heads and again, having the experience of other lines, this was an anomaly we felt was important to note for others who are considering this line. The ship itself was clean, comparatively clean to other lines and with cabins which were much larger than the typical stateroom found on other lines. That was about the only two bonuses on this line. Our experience of the ship was in one word -- exhausting. Terribly overcrowded and with clearly overwhelmed staff who continually treated us with discourtesy and disregard. The staff appeared as exhausted of the overcrowded conditions as we were. This was consistent from the bar staff to the dinning staff -- totally overwhelmed and continually discourteous and seemed exhausted..... The common centers on the ship were jammed daily elbow to elbow with people and loud music - wasn't a quiet spot on the ship to be found... ever. The smoking is an experience not commonly found with American products, on European lines - smoking is everywhere and something we found terribly intrusive and distasteful. Imagine placing the ONLY soft serve ice cream station for kids on the ship in the smoking section of the ship... kids actually have to endure cigarette smoke while waiting for their ice cream (which was eventually closed down due to being broken). This careless disregard for children - alone, made us not want to return to this product... ever. We have sailed many ships (19 cruises to date) and several of those other European products. First time we were ever on a ship and product we couldn't wait to leave... first time. The cost of this product comparatively is similar to other lines - RCCL, Princess Holland America - but what you get for your money is wholly inconsistent and as a result, we could not in good conscience recommend this product, especially for families. While MSC is trying desperately to break into the American marketshare, we believe this is going to be extremely difficult as people with experiences such as ours, share our impressions with others. This was an honest and unbiased account of our experience. We hope it is taken seriously so the product may be improved for others going forward. For us, we will not use or recommend this product in the future. Read Less

People often ask what was my worst cruise and I answer I've never had a bad one. I can still say that after my mediocre experience cruising the Mediterranean from Rome (Civitavecchia) last week on MSC Divina. Had it not been for the complimentary balcony upgrade I would have given them a "Poor" rating. Overall it is a nice ship and most of the staff friendly with good entertainment. Nice workout facility and plenty to do on board. Unfortunately the food was barely a step above your local buffet restaurants, that included the sit down dinners. Perhaps that is why they were constantly walking through promoting the specialty restaurants while you were in the main restaurant or buffet. Quite often the hand sanitizer machines were empty, though the ship was mostly clean. The boarding process seemed a little informal without giving you much direction on what to do next. We were sent to our room where the door was opened and only one key card on the bed. We had to go to the reception desk to request the other card. We had to visit guest services a few times because promotions offered to us weren't made clear without having to ask for them repeatedly. Also the bedding configuration wasn't as requested. They corrected that before bedtime. The destinations were great, though sometimes difficult for people with mobility issues. You could always catch free or low cost shuttles outside the ship if you're willing and able to walk. Otherwise you may want to consider purchasing the shuttles provided by the ship. I've actually sailed this exact ship before from Miami years ago. Perhaps that is the difference. Maybe it's the European culture where iced tea is not served. I'm okay with that. But finding out the only free beverages are small cups of water from the ice machine, coffee, or hot tea didn't go over well compared to other cruises. They do have free juice from machines at breakfast. Our first dinner in the Black Crab restaurant was a bad experience when we asked for water and tea and the waitress explained there was a cost for it since they only served bottled water and hot tea (though canned ice tea was also available for purchase). Turns out I had some kind of promotion that made the bottled water and hot tea free at lunch or dinner in the restaurant. So that was fine. But it got worse. The first course I discovered hair in the food. They were very apologetic, asked for my room number, and gave us free sodas and wine with lunch or dinner the rest of the trip. I realize the hair thing is likely an isolated incident. And the free water is minor in the whole scheme of things. Vacations cost money. I suspect if MSC spent more time trying to please the customer rather than saving themselves money, it would have been a more pleasant journey. I am used to cruise ships nickel and dining you, but this time they seem to go to far. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we like to do long ones crossing the Atlantic. Unfortunately it was the first time we had such bad sea for 5 days. Our cabin was the very last one on our deck. 13223 stern. Wow every little swerve or move of the ship we felt. It was okay until we had very strong winds continuously 90 miles an hour for about 5 days. We had to be in the atrium as much as possible it was better. The food was very good not extraordinary but very good. The cabin service was excellent. The entertainment was very good at the theatre but the activities were not. I guess too many languages would have made it difficult to have too many different ones. The port presentations were excellent. Embarkation and deembarkation was terrible. A total mess no one to take charge in different situations it seemed there was no management to lead. We will cruise again with them as the prices for a crossing is excellent and the ship was super nice. Read Less

great service. poor and boring food. buffett food was thesame everyday, long lines trouble finding a place to sit. dinner in dining room. very poor choices, theyecpect you to pay for lobster tail, filet, which have been included in my other cruises. samething with ice cream they sell cones or sundays etc. it cost $ $ $ for manythings that have been included in past cruises. even room service has a charge. over 4,000 people long lines everywhere. including public bathrooms which were small and not nerally enough of them. Evening entertainment was good but the samedancers and singers each nite, which became boring after a while. We will NEVER cruise MSC again. most other people we talked to felt the same. no clocks in public places, on robes in the cabin. the staff were very hard working and very freindly. they are underpaid. i willstick with Carnival, princess or my favorite Holland American in the future. Family advised to try this cruise line. Everything went very smoothly getting on and off ship. The food was fantastic. Menu items included Mediterranean entries which made a great time to try something different and I was not disappointed. Wait staff were very attentive to all our needs from the customer service to Wilfred our cabin attendant. All the staff were very friendly. Wally in entertainment kept us happy, Cahya and Kumar at our dinner table were the absolute best. The staff taking drink orders and the bartenders definatly kept us entertained. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The ship is beautiful and should definatly cruise this line again. Family members who cruised this line before highly recommend us to take this line and I'm so glad we did. The staff from the captain to the wait staff were all extremely friendly and would go out of their way to make our cruise the best. Thank you. Read Less

The only good things on this ship were the shows in the theater and the Italian Specialty Restaurant for a fee. Food and service in the main dining room were terrible. Food was tasteless and cold. The description on the menu had nothing to do with what was actually served. We had one waiter that didn't know what Iced Tea was.We missed the Opera performance because dinner service was very, very slow. Took about 2 1/2 hours for dinner. One day our excursion returned after the dining room closed, we were told to eat at the anytime dining, when we got there we were told that we had to eat at the Buffet because we hadn't made prior arrangements for the Anytime dining. The theater was not handicapped friendly. Two people in our group fell down the steps. Disembarkation was a nightmare, Took over three hours to get off the ship. Read Less

This was our second voyage on the Divina and our fourth MSC voyage so we knew what to expect. Unfortunately a number of minor issues, none of which would be a reason to forgo a trip, added up to a less-then-perfect cruise. Let me expand. The bathroom lighting was poor, the cabin drawers are short, the captions on the TV ( a very small Samsung located in an awkward corner) did not work, the excursions listed on the interactive system had dates from a month before, the Daily Planner listed items that were flat-out wrong or did not exist, and there was little or no help from the excursion staff if you wanted to tour on your own. In addition, the excursion descriptions would mention food or drinks that turned out not to be, a partition door on our deck was broken and banged all night (they did repair it when we asked), and our safe batteries were dead when we entered the cabin. As for "drinks on us," a better name might be "Drinks on us, if you can find us." Bar service in the dining room was so slow that if you did not order immediately on sitting down, you might get your cocktail with desert. There is much confusion on board as to the charge for tips when you get free drinks. The consensus seemed to be that tipping would be addded, however, we did not get any such charge. On the fourth day of the cruise, our captain informed us that an unusually high number of gastrointestinal problems had been reported and that anybody with symptoms should visit the medical office for a free evaluation. In other words, norovirus! The fear of any cruiser. We realized at that point we were trapped. There was nothing to do but wash our hands every five minutes. We were lucky. Neither my wife or I got sick and we did not hear anymore about it. When we arrived back in Miami for debarkation, things went south. For some reason, we were told, US Customs was delaying our departure. Our assigned time of 9:00AM was off by about 90 minutes! Soon, the color-coded system meant nothing. Everyone was pushing and trying to make their flights or connections. Some may have missed them for sure. We only made our 12Noon flight (arrival is 7AM) by 10 minutes! We can not blame MSC if indeed the problem was caused by Immigration, but the staff quickly went into hiding and the "canned announcement" was repeated every fifteen to twenty minutes. "We are working to expedite the process, please be patient." We have no way of knowing what was really happening, but perhaps the drug bust in Mexico the month before and our stop in Columbia had something to do with it? We saw drug-sniffing dogs aboard in Miami, and we have never encountered that before. So, bottom line. The irritants I mentioned, taken individually, would never dissuade me from booking on MSC. But, when they all added together on one cruise, they weigh a lot more. We loved the interaction with Europeans, South Americans and travelers from all over the world. Read Less

This was our first time sailing on MSC. Overall we were very satisfied with the cruise. The staff were all very friendly even when dealing with some not so friendly customers. We really liked the food, bars and "Drinks on us" package was fine for us. The ship is beautiful. We did miss the outside areas since you cannot walk around the whole outside without coming in. Improvement in the cleanliness of the mens washroom. The ladies was fine and clean. Good value for our money. We liked the food and and the choices offered. Always had something we enjoyed. We are not big on entertainment, however, we enjoyed the shows we attended. Entertainment in the bars were exceptional. Getting on and off the ship was really easy. We walked off with our luggage. Enjoyed the ports but some islands are struggling to rebuild from the damage of hurricanes. I read some negative reviews, but overall we enjoyed the ship and the cruise. Read Less

Bought this in May, with a $198 deposit, a Memorial day special with free drinks and balcony. We had a great cabin 8230 on Deck 8 without lifeboats blocking our view. We were also near the elevator that we would used late at night coming down from the Black and White Lounge. Transportation is not at problem from Fort Lauderdale and back from the Miami port. Cost is $38 for Uber or $20 per person with the shuttle one way. Just walk off the ship, the shuttle drivers are there with signs for FLL. We do not stay in Miami for I feel and like FLL.. more fun at the beach bars in Hollywood. MSC has a match points program with the other cruise lines so I was given all the great perks and also my cabin mate. I did not have one bad meal or service in the Black Crab. Even the buffet is excellent except some items that should be near the entrée are not. Best to scot out where everything is so you can hopefully have hot food. Entertainment was excellent even got to see an OPERA, This is my 3rd cruise with MSC and will continue to cruise with them... if the price is right. Only took one tour other one was on our own. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price. This was our 6th cruise and the first time on MSC line. Getting onto the ship took about 45 min and we were allowed to go to our cabin right away. We were in 12253 which is a balcony/aft/port. Our steward Rubean greeted us right away and asked if we had any special requests. The cabin was clean with a nice size balcony and was serviced twice daily. The service was very good in the Black Crab for dinner and our servers Joebert and Robin were always attentive and efficient. While the food was good, it was not on par with other lines we've sailed on. Dinner was served promptly and never took longer than an hour from start to finish and food was always served hot. Trying to find a seat in the buffet for lunch on sea days was a challenge and dining times in the Black Crab (for lunch) were very limited (12-1:30) and only offered on sea days. The buffet had great fresh salad and fruits. The chilled soups served daily on the fruit bar were really good especially the Watermelon/Coconut. For the most part the Buffet offered the same food daily with minor changes. The servers at the buffet work very hard and clear tables asap. The entertainment in the Theater was really good especially the Tribute to Queen show. To get to the theater, you had to walk through the smokey Casino or go up and around by walking through the narrow cabin hallways. Finding a lounge chair on sea days was next to impossible as they were all"saved" with orange towels tied to them. Apparently everyone goes up early in the AM and grabs a chair for the day. If you are not an early riser, you are out of luck. Also, the bars by the pool get very busy. We read some negative reviews about the Europeans being rude and pushy but we did not find that to be the case. We met some couples from all over Europe that were quite friendly. The "Drinks on us" package was really a bonus. There was a limited selection but we researched and printed out what was included in advance. All you pay for is the 15% gratuity. Staff was good about letting you know what was or wasn't included as well. The running track is very hard to find and not much to speak of but if you go down to deck 7, you can walk either side of the ship with very little traffic. Public areas on the ship were kept clean and hand sanitizer was offered at both the Buffet and main Dining room. We chose "express" disembarkation and that was a total mess! We got down at 7:00 am and the line was all way down to the casino and coming back up the other side. There was no clear (roped off) defined line and people were cutting in front and not bothering to go down into the Casino and up and around. Read Less

MSC Divina Elite Plus on Celebrity and our first cruise with MSC did the status match from Celebrity which made us Black status. Fantastica room 10233 extra large balcony sorry no pictures of it. Two lounge chairs and two regular chairs with foot stole. Cruise director was great but shows lacking. Most of game show came right out of Royal Caribbean shows Quest, Newly Wed not so Newly Wed. Pros Food was great!!! great room service great. Loved the Buffet and the selection of food, Pizza was over the top good!!! Ate there everyday for breakfast and Lunch and several days for dinner. Staff went above and beyond. Drinks on Us was all needed as we're not heavy drinkers. Bed was a bit to firm and pillows to soft for us. Room steward was great as well, and guest service agent Leane was very helpfully and Osborne had special meal of eggplant made for me. I would differently cruise on the Divina again, we did book another cruise for next year Meraviglia from Miami to Germany 21 days in the Aurea Experience Cons Dining room service was not that great and very slow. We had Villa Rosea. I don't know if it was from having a table for 2 was the cause but the larger tables that came in behind us were served before us, we had to ask for water and rolls and it would take 30+ minutes to get it. We only ate there a few times. Also note I'm diabetic and when I asked for diet soda I was served regular soda with my drink. When in Cozumel our dinning room waiter told us we needed to give him a tip off the ship because he had to share his with others. He followed us around and kept asking for money!! I did report it and gave his name, I've never had that happen before on any ship. TV was very small and hard to see and not many channels to chose from another then CNN Future Cruise was very busy and with only 2 working it took forever, we had an appointment and was still over 1 hour to see him. My husband has to use a wheelchair sometimes and there were 2 large electric chairs blocking the hallway most of the time so we either had to fold his chair up and him walk past them or use the other elevators a long way from our home, I did complain about them but nothing was ever done about it. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 12 day adventure on the MSC Divina. The ship is amazing and the captain and crew were always there to answer questions and help make the trip enjoyable. The food is a mix of European and American fare. I think most normal people will find plenty to satisfy them. I actually witnessed many, many people finding plenty. We only took one ship sponsored excursion and that was a late addition to the excursion list. It was a simple bus trip was in Jamaica. It was to be a short ride from the port to Duns River Falls. This innocent little excursion was one of our only disappointments on the trip. The 10 minute bus ride took about 40 minutes as we stopped just outside the port to allow passengers to buy water shoes from a street vendor. We all presumed the vendor to be a relative of the guide. Anyway, truly a waste of our time but not really the fault of MSC. The entertainment throughout the ship was high quality and the theater shows were very high quality with professional talent, lights and sound crew. My wife and I would take early morning strolls and see the crew setting up the deck chairs. Very early in the day people would drape their 'issued orange room towels' over the chairs to claim them. Now it may be hours or hours-and-hours before anyone actually reappeared to use the chairs but no less the 'orange towels' kept anyone else from using them. I didn't really think this was a good solution for deck chair management. I mean could I drape an orange towel over buffet tables, casino machines, theater seats...NO. So why was this acceptable on the deck? Anyway, not sure how other ships handle this but a better solution must exist. Overall I do rate our cruise on the MSC Divina as Excellent. I would cruise both MSC and the Divina again without hesitation. Read Less

MOLD in the cabin bathroom, poor quality and improperly prepared food in the Dining Room and Buffet, filthy floors and tables in dining areas, Dining Room servers unable to set a table properly and generally unresponsive to guest requests, a "Drinks On Us" package that did not include some of the most basic drinks and mixes and required guests to pay a 15% gratuity on each drink over and above the gratuity paid for each day - a gratuity that several bartenders told us they never saw. Something that tasted like Tang being used as Orange Juice in Screwdrivers, running out of Club Soda before the final two days at sea and then trying to substitute bottled water, not having enough servers so they could offer and get mixed drinks in the Dining Room, not to mention their inability to even keep water glasses refilled. A Balcony Cabin where if you sat in a chair on the balcony you could not see the water since it has a metal wall instead of glass - CLEARLY should be advertised as Obstructed View. Common area Restrooms that are few and far between compared to other ships we have been in, and which are not cleaned often enough. Read Less

Cruise ship experience better than expected , and will sail on same ship with slightly different itinerary next January . Cruise critic group was very active and friendly on this cruise . Very enjoyable cruise . Main dining - good quality food and service with some European flair that was acceptable and nice . Pretty active ship with good but shortened shows (30-45 minutes ) . Most venues well used and occasionally difficult to find an empty space . Embarkation problems due to customs agents apparantly , doubt it is this long next time . Cabin stewart okay , and liquor prices were quite reasonable . Shore excursions reasonable , but difficult to book before boarding of ship . Specialty restaurants also difficult to book before cruise . Those are two ares MSC should want to clear up . Buffet food okay quality and depth of items . Although ship had only a couple of specialty restaurants basically - Eataly and Galaxy , one could order Surf and Turf ($24.95) or Lobster ($19.00) as a suppliment in main dining area . We ordered surf and turf , and the fillet mignon and fair size lobster tail were a nice treat one evening . Overall value for cruise was excellent , and came with an adequate drinks on us package . Captain and his crew more active and visable than most cruise lines , and quite friendly . Read Less

The buffet we ate breakfast and lunch there, there where many selections and food for different ethnic groups. We ate dinner in the main dinning room we had excellent service. The food was average people who had prime beef said it was excellent, the choices where limited compared to other cruise lines. We had a table of 6 who we cruised with. If we were by ourselves it would have be hard to speak to the other people since about half of the people were from non USA Everyone was polite and respectful. We had the classic drink package and had no problems ordering drinks and frozen cocktails and had free gelato with the package along with speciality coffees The entertainment was very good we went to all the shows. The music around the ship and in the pool area was not that good not like other cruise lines. They did not have a stage band with brass instruments first time I have been on a cruise ship without that type of instrumentation. The violinist and piano were excellent but they had them playing sometimes in a nosily area. We took the ship excursion tour of Tortola is was very good, We took a shuttle in St Kitts to Reggae beach a very enjoyable day. We took the ship excursion in Guadeloupe to the Botanical Gardens it was a great place to visit and walk around, we them went to a restore for swimming very nice, it was a club med before changing owners. We boarded MSC Divina on 30 December for a cruise around the Caribbean and Central America, the embarkation and disembarkation procedures were fabulous, we were on board within 17 minutes of arriving at the port. However, it stopped there! On our first night we had been allocated to the first sitting in the Black Crab restaurant on deck six. We ordered our evening meal and advised the waiting staff that we expected hot food and hot plates. Sadly this was not the case. Husband ordered French Onion soup, if that French Onion soup had even seen an onion we would have been surprised, it was not of a consomme type, indeed it had cream in it or even cornflour to thicken it up, it was disgusting. On New Years' Eve, we had a "special menu"! My husband ordered duck and I ordered the surf and turf, quite frankly it was inedible, my steak tasted of the fish and husband refused to eat the duck which was well overcooked. We left the restaurant immediately and did not return. Sadly this was indicative of the standard of food on the ship, which was never hot, never served on warm plates and for the most part inedible! Of more concern was the lack of hygiene in the restaurants and buffet, there was absolutely no monitoring of hygiene in the restaurants and at some entry points there were no facilities for hand hygiene. Where there were gel machines, these inevitably were empty. Even after we had complained about this nothing was done, quite shameful really when you think of the number of passengers on the ship and the possibility of a noro virus outbreak. Whilst on the ship I caught a cold, (I am convinced this was because of the appallingly poor hygiene standards) and tried to cancel my excursion which was due to take place in Colombia the next day. The excursion staff advised my husband, very rudely that I could not cancel without a medical certificate from the ship's doctor which would cost $95 - the trip itself cost $88 so I wasn't likely to pay more. He asked them whether they would rather I stayed in my cabin and kept the cold to myself or, as it would appear they would prefer i carried on the with excursion and infected the whole ship and anyone else I came into contact with. They, apparently just shrugged their shoulders in a "don't care" attitude, this was quite indicative of the senior staff on the ship. My excursion was eventually refunded but husband was expected to attend. A word of warning - if you have booked onto Divina as a "Bella" passenger be very careful when using room service - you will be charged a delivery fee of $3.50 every time you use room service - this is not the case if you are a "Fantastica" or "Aurea" passenger, a clear case of discrimination I believe. We were accommodated in cabin 13230 at the very back of the ship, in what was a balcony cabin... however because of the overhang at the back of the ship we got very little sun and the balcony was so small, we had to turn the chairs to the side to sit on them, we were not told about this and it was a huge disappointment. The cabin itself was comfortable although we did experience some "movement" on at sea days and during the night. We did not visit the theatre at all as the only show we wanted to see came on when I was unwell. The lack of communication on the ship is apparent, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. We were invited to a cocktail party at which the captain was to attend, this invitation came because "we had already booked a further cruise with MSC", we hadn't (they wish) and would never do so, needless to say we didn't attend. The ports were very enjoyable, particularly Costa Maya and Cozumel but the excursions are very expensive for what they are and it is quite easy to buy cheaper excursions off ship. All in all this was a cruise of two halves, particularly disappointing was the catering, the crew, particularly in the Silver Bar were fantastic fun and the bar staff and waitresses here helped make our holiday worthwhile. All in all, I wouldn't book with MSC again, they really need to get the food issues sorted and start catering for all nationalities rather than the USA and Italian markets. Read Less

We chose this cruise based on price and itinerary. Even though we've read mixed reviews of this line, we decided to try it ourselves. 1) Cabin w/balcony was decent, but attendant was not observant enough. Didn't pick up dirty glasses on counter, and we had to ask for more toilet paper, shampoo (completely out), and body wash (very low). 2) Our dining room staff were excellent, but the food was just OK, nothing to rave about. However, 3) There were not enough wait staff in the various bars (when full of passengers). I went up to the bar and ordered drinks myself. 4) some of the mixed drinks did not taste like what we were used to, and in some of my wife's drinks, the Mint leaves were going brown. 5) The crew mixed up one of our excursions, and sent us on one we didn't want. Only found out once we were on the wrong bus, already outside of town. We went to excursion desk to talk about this, but they said that since we went on a tour, we would get no refund. They'll hear about this soon. Read Less

We choose the MSC Divina to try a different company and heard that it was a good ship. The ship was nice and most personnel were friendly. We were extremely disappointed for the food , most of the time cold . The buffet was the same lack of choices and food is precooked and cold. The dinning restaurants mostly for breakfast was a disaster, your order was always cold or they would forget to bring your toast, orange etc.... Many times they ran out of food such as bagels , juices, fruits. As for entertainment, it was average, always the same song and dance, no variety. We had the "Drinks in us pakagd" which was good but many times depending the bar you get your drink would tell you the drink you ordered in not part of the drink package and would try to charge you full price, many descrepencies and often frustrating. Bottom line , I expected better from this Italian ship especially the food, always cutting back on quality and portions, if you wanted something descent you had to pay about 25-30 us , all about the money. This was my first and last MSC, will stick my other carriers. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports it was visiting and the price was very good. We upgraded our Drinks on Us package to the Classic package and that was great - all the gelato (wonderful) wine and drinks we wanted. The service in the restaurant and the bars was poor and the food was mediocre at best. We ate in the main ding room most of the time. We booked one night in the Galaxy sushi restaurant and that was excellent. We had a poor experience in the Eataly restaurant. But we had the pizza at the bar outside the restaurant several times and that was excellent. My husband did one shore excursion - sailing an America’s cup yacht in St. Martin. That was a highlight of the trip for him. The ship is beautiful. Entertainment in the theatre was way too loud to the point of distortion. The jazz group in the Golden Lounge was excellent. We booked the thermal package which was good but could have been better. They have exactly six lounge chairs for everyone who is using the steam bath and sauna. The gym was always crowded and seemed too small for such a large ship. The pools were always crowded and people would put a towel on a chair in early morning to save it for themselves for the day. I had a good time but probably will not book another MSC cruise. I have had better experiences on other cruise lines. But the price is what tempted me. Read Less

2nd time cruising on MSCDivina. The first was wonderful, this time, horrible. We had several encounters in the dining room where we didn't get what we ordered, our party of 6 didn't get served at the same time where some were done eating while others hadn't been served. Too many inexperienced servers and assistants. Lots of not so tasty food too. The buffet was better, but nothing to write home about. Pool service was almost non-existent, more like get your own. The assistant manager of the jewelry department was downright rude and should look for a job where she doesn't interact with the public, as should several other staff members. Too many inexperienced servers and staff. On the other hand, Maria from excursions should be given a massive raise and train some of the other staff how to be courteous and provide spot on customer service. Take advantage of the free facial on deck 5. Read Less

Title says it all. Price of this cruise was unbelievable. Ship was gorgeous. Balcony room at the rear of the ship was Fabulous. Food & service at our table in the black crab dining room was TERRIBLE! Take the cruise & eat at the buffet. Service at Eataly was terrible and extremely SLOW so we went up to the pizza buffet & ate the exact same thing. The staff didn’t look like they enjoyed working on this ship. It was just a boring job to most. They need more Karaoke . They offered it only 3 times and each night it didn’t start until 10:30 or 11:00 PM which is way too late and then it only went for one hour. Many people signed up to sing but we’re not able to do so because of the time element. Incorporate Carnival’s use of Karaoke & do it everyday/ & 2-3 times a day at decent hours so everyone gets a chance. Read Less

I thought this was an upscale cruise .no fantisca expirience. No wheelchair at embarkation /disorginised check in.cabin had fold out couch which was broken and very uncomfortable [other passengers with simular cabins had same complaint.] 11 days having to sit on balcony to be comfortable. Food and service was below average,[waiter doubled as bussboy, and food was often cold and late. so called world class entertainment was a joke, sit downbreakfast and lunches at the black crab resturant came with waiters that did not care/service and food left a lot to be desired.the majority of the non food staff are great.my wife was provided with a wheelchair, always had help getting on and off the ship.the shore excursions were well organized with staff traveling on the busses.drinks are not free, every drink or bottled water has a service charge added to it.bartenders were like the food staff some good most bad.disembarkation was great,a crew member wheeled my wife to the parking area.this cruise was not what i expected or was promised when i booked it. I did complain at the service desk but nothing changed. I am in contact with a miami attorney about a refund for services promised but not provided. Read Less

Really needed to get out of town and see some more of the world got a real bargain on this cruise. Nice ship, clean and well kept. Wife has a hard time walking and we had all the help we needed, picked her up curb side and taken to the cabin where we had a rented walker from a company we were told of by cruise. Had the same service on leaving. Dining was fine though the buffet was lacking in variety, seemed to be the same every day. I found it interesting that there was sure a range of people on the cruise from many other countries. Did not go on but 2 shore excursions due to wife not able to get around much but on those they were well managed and easy to attend. Entertainment was fine tho we did not go every much, I seemed to spend a lot of time in the casino and enjoyed. Read Less

We had been warned by our travel agent that this was an Italian cruise line and things would be different, especially the meals. She was right. The Divina is a beautiful ship. Embarkation was smooth and went quickly. The staff was polite but not overly friendly. They do not seem to interact with the passengers like staff on other cruise lines. Of all the cruises we have been on, we saw the cruise director, Jerome, the least of any cruise director on past ships. Bingo was a single game. The first time offered they had a snafu with the computer shutting down during the game so all info ended up being lost and the game needed to be restarted. We did not play again after that and I think many others avoided it also. The meals were definitely catering to European flavor and, I feel, lacked variety. The buffet line food was often barely warm. The main dining room was not much better and took forever to be served one course to another. Portions tended to be small. The ports were great and we booked this particular Eastern Caribbean cruise (11 days) because it went to ports we had not been to before (with the exception of Antigua) We definitely got what we paid for but we will not book with MSC again.
