Wow, don't know where to begin. First, because I've never cruised before, I thought the room would be small, no, no, no and no. The room had a queen size bed that looked and felted like a king size bed. I thought the bathroom was going to be small. No, no, and no again, the bedroom was average size with an amazing shower in it. The shower was equipped with a hand held shower head that was great. Also, I thought I would get sea sick, no, no and no again, the ship was like a city moving. Yes, I never got sick. I enjoyed all the activities on the ship. There were so many that I missed a few, but boy did I have a grand time. This was my first cruise and now I'm hooked. I looking into going again next year to another destination, but I'm going again on a cruise with NCL. The staff were amazing, they all went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great time. I loved it, and would recommend a NCL Cruise to everyone of my family and friends. Thank you again, NCL for an amazing time. Read Less

NCL made our vacation so enjoyable. We chose this ship specifically to vacation for the first time on a mega-ship, as frequent NCL cruisers. We wanted a ship that was current and not refurbished with an itinerary of at least seven days from USA. We were especially excited to experience The Haven, an area we previously could not afford on smaller Norwegian ships due to the price structure. This is constructive feedback about what stood out to us on the Escape re: our experiences, on board restaurants/food, pool, entertainment: • Elevators should announce the next floor to stop on (like on other NCL ships) • Main pool is small • Smoke (cigarette/cigar) from casino consistently impacted the mini-atrium (outside Le Bistro) and the art gallery area. Better ventilation is needed. This has never been a problem on previous NCL ships. • Good to have separate smoking area on Deck 19 for Haven guests. • The hot tubs in The Haven were comfortable. The jets on both tubs and the hot tub on deck 19 for The Haven guests do not stay on for more than 5 minutes; had to keep pressing the button. The jets timer needs increasing. • Le Bistro and La Cucina were both not as great as previously experienced on other NCL ships (e.g., Pearl). Both specialty restaurants were small and crowded so it was quite noisy the evening we ate at each. The food did not meet expectations. While our waiter was attentive and apologetic, service (for a specialty restaurant) was slower at both restaurants. The Haven restaurant was much better • Cagney’s Steakhouse did not let us down – it was wonderful! • The Freestyle Daily listed many activities, of which we participated. Unfortunately, this is the first cruise ship that did not offer Zumba classes. The gym has a great space where Yoga and TRX classes are held. This is the space for Zumba or maybe the main stage of the theater! • Gym – no place fill up water bottles. Sign above water fountain and below towels reads DO NOT FILL UP WATER BOTTLES HERE. When asking staff, they did not offer an alternative place. Remove the sign or add a water fountain for water bottles. • Such a great idea to offer snacks in The Haven pool deck/courtyard. Please change snack offerings to including granola bars, packs of nuts. The baked breads were delicious. Seeking alternative to gummy bears and M&Ms. • The staff in The Haven were phenomenal – concierge, room steward, butler, restaurant, bar, and courtyard/pool staff! The staff were very attentive to cleaning the ship while in port. • The main theater is smaller – we are used to a 2-floor theater and “box seats.” Pleased The Haven had reserved rows.Good to have thin colorful lights illuminated, otherwise theater is quite dark. • Atrium television screen displays wrong colors when a laptop is projecting images. This impacted Flag Trivia. Maintenance needs to adjust this. When watching movies on same screen color appeared correct. o All trivia games held in the main atrium were fun and enjoyable! • Best Shows – After Midnite, Flatboys [Supper Club], and Ben Nemetz [Supper Club]. After Midnite was by far one of the absolute best shows on the seas – ever seen on a cruise ship. The Supper Club is a neat concept. o The Brat Pack (For the Record) was a complete let down. The band, theme and staging were great but the execution was horrible. The actors had no connection to their character which lead no connection from the audience. While we stayed for the entire show, we have never seen so many patrons walk out of the theater mid-show. This show should be replaced with something on the After Midnite caliber. o Jim Badger [The District]. We saw Jim on the Pearl where he did his nightly show in the lounge outside Le Bistro. He continues to be hilarious and interacts with the audience so well. Whenever he was performing, we made it a point to visit for a bit. No matter how often we heard his jokes/one-liners, we laughed each time. We were extremely disappointed he was not performing the last night of the cruise due to a schedule mix up. o Each of the comedians at Headliners each night did a short set; shows lasted 45 minutes from beginning to end. The 18+ shows should at least be 1 hour. Neat space. Read Less

Love cruising with Norwegian. That said, expected more from them on the Escape. Having over 5,000 people on board we knew this was going to be an interesting trip. Lets start with how rude people can be. By day 3, I had made a comment that I was so tired of being the only one who was considerate enough to move to the side while walking down the hallways. I vowed to stop "making room" if the person coming towards me did not give any effort. I "ran into" person after person, getting terrible looks because its always SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT! This brings me into peoples kids. There are hundreds on board these ships. Parents feel that they can let loose on their reigns. After all, where can they get lost. Kids overruled every part of the ship. Before parents get mad at me, we paid money just like you. If a pool, or a hot tub, or a specified area says adults only, that means this small piece of the ship is so we do not have to deal with your kids for the entire cruise. I also blame NCL for not enforcing their own rules for us non-parent adults. I am really disappointed with the lack of sanitary practices we have scene on all other NCL ships. We had our hands out and ready to be sprayed while entering an eating establishment. Nothing! There was a purell globe entering most places, but know one was using them. I rely on NCL to keep things clean and healthy. I am not a germaphobe but with 5,000 people on board, this was a helpful way to keep us sick free after the cruise. Last, but not least, NCL needs to pay attention to their Latitude guests. Hearing story after story how NCL bent over backwards to offer their new cruisers everything they possibly can. Being an NCL regular, I could not get a response for an (illegal) incident that happened on board one of their ships. After months and months of fighting with everyone in the company the resolution was a $50 credit for each of us on a future cruise. On this last cruise, a woman complained that her inside cabin was noisy. Since she complained so much, she was given a mini-suite. My cruise was ruined, got $50. She hears noise, triple upgrade. She said it was her first cruise also. Read Less

We usually sail Royal Caribbean, but we chose NCL for the perks they offered. Not worth it. We booked a suite, which was a tad bigger than an inside stateroom. The "broadway" theater is much too small for the number of passengers, so all the shows were "sold out". The one show we did manage to see was filled with vulgar language and strong sexual content. Not appropriate for families. The ship is very compartmentalized, with the main venues undersized. At one venue, The Atrium, they had to put out folding chairs to accommodate the guests, and it still wasn't enough. For such a big ship, it seemed very small and crowded. The large ships with Royal Caribbean, like the Oasis of the Seas, don't seem small and crowded since there's so many more venues and things to do, that you never have too many people attend one thing. Overall, NCL was ok, the food was good, and the service exceptional if you book a suite. Read Less

Don't get me wrong , you won't have a bad time if you choose this cruise. The food was very good, the staff was great and the ship was clean but it might not be for you if you are in your 20-30s even 40s. My biggest complaints relate to customer service prior to embarking the ship which was really poor. I also found the Norwegian website and policies very misleading and won't be traveling with them anymore. If you've done other cruises before with other cruise lines you will most likely find the entertainment average, The Brat Pack and the Company Men were very cheesy shows...they are talented but the shows were just not for us. Maybe targeted to older audience? However, the after midnight show was really good. The comedians were also very PG....The ship is big but there is a lot of kids stuff that we didn't really care about such as an obstacle course and a water park / water slides. The water slides were fun but with the obstacle course that takes almost half of the top of the ship and there is less room for pools. There was one adult pool which was always uncomfortably full. The pool was also weirdly made...you either had water to your ankles and just sat there or you had water on top of your head and had to hang to a railing. I enjoy cigars while on vacation but the cigar lounge was not a cigar lounge it was just a small room full of cigarette smokers no nice couches or chairs like other cruise lines. In other words, if you are a couple between the ages of 20-40 and want something more adult...look elsewhere. Read Less

We love NCL and we wanted to try the beautiful new ship Escape! we had a wonderful time and enjoyed many family adventures on board such as water slides and pools and late night snacks... From a pleasant and speedy Embarkation through the final night celebration our trip was amazing! Our 8 year old enjoyed splash academy but our 17 year old was a bit "mature" for the teen club. He went to activities and there were plenty, but the crowd tended to be between the ages of 14 - 15 ;) our cabin was great for us, we had a forward balcony and loved it. We enjoyed the Supper Club and the Company Men as a dinner show, dined at the Manhattan room (this was O.K., we thought there was going to be dancing and a band, we went at 6 and there wasn't any entertainment. we booked 3 excursions through the ship and they were fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised that the food was actually "more flavorful" than we've experienced on past cruises! My husband and I ate at Taste one evening and the Lava Cake... WOW! I I me and my family loved it thank you. U (our 8 year old wrote this :) We LOVE NCL and we put $ down for 2 upcoming cruises within the next 4 years... I will be taking our 8 year old along with a girlfriend and her 2 kids on a western Caribbean cruise in February on the Getaway and we are all very excited! Read Less

This was our fourth cruise with NCL and by far the worst. It is wasn't for being in the Haven and the service that affords, I would have given fewer stars. Most of our issues were related to the sheer amount of people on-board. The entire ship felt cramped, even our stateroom felt smaller (we did a similar cruise last year on the Getaway in the same cabin class). If you book this ship, I would strongly consider the Haven. Below is a breakdown from our perspective, I can't imagine what it was like for everyone else. Embarkation was quick, we arrived around 10am, waiting only about 15 min in line at security. Haven guests have a separate (small) check-in lounge and are escorted to a separte waiting area until given the all-clear to board, we had to waiting about an hour total. The waiting areas were stocked with snacks and drinks, so it wasn't all that bad. As I understand, board for other guests was staggered based on room location. Once on board, we were taken directly to the Haven lounge for a quick overview by the head concierge. We were told that our rooms were ready and that we had two dining options for lunch, the Haven Restaurant or Margaritaville (free for haven guests on the first day only, otherwise a la carte pricing). We decide to go to our room first and drop our carry-on bags, and of course it was not ready as stated. So we decide to take advantage of Margaritaville (since it's free) and it was still closed as well, nothing opens until 12. The Haven is the way to go, but getting more and more expensive each year. A lot of perks, priority embarkation/disembarkation at every port, private restaurant, lounge, pool, and sun deck. The concierge staff is amazing, they can help with virtually anything, they came make restaurant and show reservation for you (and I advise you do that asap). We spent our sea days lounging by the pool area (drink and food service available throughout the day). It was quiet and relaxing, maximum of 40 people using the area with enough room for 100. The main pool area was a different story, each chair was taken and packed in together like sardines. There was barely any room to walk around and the music, oh my, the music was so incredibly loud. Our stateroom was nice, well decorated, but as I mentioned earlier, smaller than on the Getaway. I will give credit to our steward, she was great. We rarely saw her but the room was kept immaculate. This particular room class has a separate living room and bedroom with a large bathroom with double sinks. It's totally worth it to have separate standing shower and bath tub. The dining as usual offers a lot of variety however the food was incredibly salty regardless of the venue. Also, make reservations ASAP, we missed out on a few venues as all reservations were gone by day 2. The venues also felt smaller than in comparison to the Getaway (more people + smaller restaurants = long waits and limited reservations). We did manage to make it to three of the specialty restaurants for dinner. La Cucina (Italian) was average, variety of pasta dishes. Chagney's is the place if you are a steak lover, you can't really go wrong with anything. Le Bistro (french) was our favorite, I could eat their steam mussels all day long. If you're in the mood for a quick american style bite, O'sheehan's is open 24/7 with all the bar style food you can ask for (most of which is also available via room service as well). The Haven restaurant offers a quiet dining experience with a similar menu to the main dining rooms though it does not change throughout the week. Entertainment gets an B for effort but an D on execution. There were only a handful of shows available and we're mostly unwatchable. "After Midnight" was very unorganized with off-key singers made worse by excessive volume. "Brat Pack" was only enjoyable if you knew the music from all the John Hughes films and again way too loud. Outside of the major shows, the ship did have a variety of other entertainment options including game shows, comedians, and contests. Most were just ok. A word of caution, be careful about what you take your kids to. They had a pool side contest on the first sea day called "Mr. Sexy Legs" which turned into a strip tease/grinding exhibition. Just the title is enough to avoid taking your kids to but they did it poolside. They used female guests as judges and let's just say that neither the judges or the contestants were bashful in any way. Disembarkation was an adventure. They lost one of our bags and refused to help us look for it. The bags are divided by color tags (ours being haven priority). They (NCL rep in the terminal) told me that I would have to search through all the other colors to see if it was misplaced. Why is that my job? One of the porters end up helping me search, he found it after an hour of searching (so he got a big tip) and then NCL told to get in line for customs (which grew 5x in the hour of searching). Not happy customers. Read Less

First off, we chose the Norwegian Escape to the Eastern Caribbean because the other Norwegian one that we already booked on we had a conflict so we cancelled, so we booked this one rather last minute. We booked the end of July for an August 26th cruise. When we booked it, the price kept going down I guess to fill up the boat. Our cruise was totally full. To get on the ship, it took from start to finish through customs and check in and then waiting for the last cruise to get off was 30 minutes. Incredibly easy and painless. We ate at three specialty restaurants: Brazilian Steakhouse, Japanese Steakhouse, and the Italian Restaurant. Both the Italian and the Japanese was exceptional, the Brazilian Steakhouse was good not great. The meat came out too well done for us. We like it rare-medium rare. If we had it to do again, we would eat at Cagney's instead, its a shame because we love meat. We tried to make reservations before we boarded the ship, but they were all full. One thing they do not tell you is they only allow 25% to pre-book the restaurants, the rest of the restaurants reservations open up when you get on the ship. We ate at the complimentary restaurants - Taste, Savor and the Manhattan Room. Savor was pretty slow, compounded by bringing out the kids food first, then our daughter had to wait 50 minutes until we get fed. You must tell these restaurants to serve the kids meal with the rest of them. We found out they automatically deliver it right away. All the food was exceptional. We ate once at O'Sheehans. Our food took a long time, but still it was good. Every morning we had Garden Buffet for breakfast. Overall the food on this ship was exceptional. Everything we ate, we liked a lot and there was plenty of it. The gym was great and we took some of the classes. It gets busy early, so you have to get there even earlier. We got a balcony room mid-ship. Our steward Yogi was a great guy and cleaned our room 3x a day and kept everything spotless. he also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. We booked the excursions directly from the places websites or showed up there. They were considerably cheaper than if you would have purchased it through Norwegian. For example, in Tortola, we swam with the dolphins. Check Dolphin Discovery website and we were able to get 50% off. Then in St Thomas, went into town and found a guided 2.5 hour tour that was less than half what was offered by the ship. The shows on the ship compare to Broadway. The Rat Pack was as good of a show as I have seen and so was The company Men. We saw the comedians one night and they were very funny too. For other entertainment, I have two words for you - TYLER GRAY. If you know what I mean, say "heck yeah"!!... This guy is going places. His energy is contagious. He is so funny and his shows that he emcee's are hysterical. My suggestion is follow him around, you won't be sorry. The hardest working guy on the cruise is the internet guy. One guy for everyone that had problems connecting is insane. The poor guy needed help, but he got the job done and was very helpful to all. My daughter went to the kids club - Splash Academy every day. The counselors were great and were very well liked. So much to do. It kept her day packed with activities and parties. We used the Water slides, mini golf and the ropes course about every other day. The zip lines were off the hook and the aqua plunge was adventurous to say the least. Some times there were lines, others times none. So much fun. EVERY employee that walked by you said hello and was outwardly friendly. Lastly, the line to get off the ship moved very fast. We were off the ship, through customs and everything in about a half hour. Painless and easy. Rained in Miami coming and going BUT nothing on the cruise but nice sunny comfortable weather. The Norwegian Escape is a great ship and I highly recommend Norwegian. All my boxes were checked and the family had a great time and can't wait to do another with Norwegian Cruise very soon. We chose this ship because we had never cruised with Norwegian before. We booked a suite because we like the extra service and extra room space. This ship had no extra service and virtually the same space as balcony rooms on other ships. The only "perk" was a special embarkation line for suite passengers. Unfortunately the suite line was separated from the regular line by a strip of ribbon tape, and as soon as we made the first turn, the regular passengers went under the tape to the suite line. Both lines became equally long. The room was nice but not much bigger than a balcony room. The entertainment must be booked almost immediately for the whole week. If you wait till the next day, you'll get standing room only. We were unable to book any shows. The area for adults only has no shaded area, so if you want peace and quiet bring plenty of sun block. Sitting by the regular pool was impossible due to extremely loud music. The staff, the food and bar service were as good as you can get, but don't get sick on board unless you have medical insurance accepted by the ship. My wife developed a bladder infection and was treated by the ship's doctor (who did an incredible job of diagnosing and treating the infection), and the ship rendered a bill for nearly $1800.00. This charge may be standard in the cruising trade, but, really, $1800.00? Do your homework. Compare the cabin space of all the cruise lines and check for perks offered for premium rooms before you spend your hard earned money. Read Less

None of us were very happy. The food was so gross mostly every night so no one ate. Even the dessert was tasteless. We couldn't get into any paying restaurant until 9:30 which is too late to eat dinner Never connected with anyone in the 7 days on the ship. Staff was annoying. Taking away your dishes and cups before you were even done eating. Had to race you to beverage machines to get you a drink. Giving me ice in my cup when I didn't want it. The majority of the staff couldn't communicate. Didn't speak English or understand it. This is our opinion only!! We chose this cruise because it was within our price range and we like the freestyle experience in relation to when and where we choose to dine. Embarkation was easy. Walked in line, did the cattle crawl, and was on the ship within an hour. This ship is laid out exactly like the Getaway and Breakaway which was disappointing since I was already on those ships. Nothing new here except for the Grotto up on the Spice H20 Deck which was overrun with young drinkers just standing in there bunched up drinking. Pool was very small and packed with the same people everyday so we didn't really get a chance to enjoy the area. Same lounge chair hogs even though a projection screen kept scrolling that chairs left unattended for an hour would have their belongings removed to allow use by others. Never saw that happen. What a joke. Ended up on third deck until we found a place to sit. Very small shops on atrium level. Would have liked stores bigger or more variety. Same "sales" night after night. Average food, nothing really outstanding. Did not like The Brat Pack Show, seemed too disjointed, too hard to follow story. After Midnight show was excellent. Never got to see the activities, shows in the atrium because there were just too many people there and not enough seating. The casino area was nice and had some fun at the slots. Our cabin was nice, we got a mini suite on deck 11, mid ship, but the only thing different was the larger bathroom with the 6 water jets in the shower. Very soothing. Our steward was not the greatest and on other ships we had great stewards. This one either didn't leave any coffee or if he did, no creamer. No ice in the bucket, had to keep asking or leaving notes. Ran out of tissues, had to ask for another box. Never got more than one bath towel, hand towel, and wash rag apiece. Never had a bath mat so I used my hand towel to step on. Shelf area never cleaned in bathroom. Didn't dump the trash in the bathroom every day either. More of a annoyance than anything else. Dining service was good at the beginning of the cruise but by midweek, everyone seemed to slow down and weren't as attentive. Because of a tropical storm the prior week, we couldn't go to Tortola so we went to Puerto Rico instead. I was not to excited about that as this would make the third time there. But all in all, we had a good time there. Getting off the ship was a breeze at the end. We carried off our own luggage so our group was called at 8 and we were on our way to the airport for the flight home by 8:30. I don't think we will be doing an NCL cruise in the near future unless they come out with a new ship that is totally different . Will be looking into the Carnival Vista for the Southern Cruise since I am dying to see Curacao and Aruba. Read Less

I just got back from a cruise on the Norwegian Escape and had the best experience ever! Our original itinerary was for the Western Caribbean cruise but due to tropical storm Harvey they had to reroute us to the Eastern Caribbean cruise. At first we were disappointed, but quickly realized & appreciated the fact they made the safest choice for everyone and had beautiful weather for the whole cruise. The staff was amazing, especially our cruise director Tyler. He was kept us laughing the whole time & there was never a boring moment, even on sail days. You MUST at least 1 of the shows in the theater and if you like singing and laughing you have to check out Howl at the moon dueling pianos. The food was by far the best food I have had while on vacation. It didn't matter where you dined, at a restaurant or buffet, it was all delicious. The staff made sure everyone was happy at all times and left you wanting for nothing! My friend and I met the beverage manager, Jose, one night and the next night we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room, with a note hoping we were having a good time & his number in case we needed anything. He also introduced us to a server/bartender Sameer who also made sure we had everything we needed every time he saw us. One night, while eating in Cagney's steakhouse, he saw us sitting and was going to bring over gin & tonics to my friend and I without even asking, until he noticed we chose wine that night. He then made sure our glass was always filled. Check the night activities for themes in case you want to bring clothes for it, but every dining option is casual. Our excursions were great & the transportation to & from the ship was seamless. Norwegian is definitely the way to cruise! Read Less

I was originally going to take this cruise last summer, but the day before I was to leave, my mother, who has Alzheimer's, had a stroke, so I had to cancel. History almost repeated itself two days before this sailing, so you can imagine my stress, and then relief when things worked out and I could go. Thank you to Deepak, the hotel manager, and the senior officers who went above and beyond hosting our Meet and Mingle in the District Brew House.. Rommel, Vinnie, and Rommel, the bartenders of Vibe, became like our family, and brought 15 of us who were strangers together like their family; they are the best bartenders onboard, in my opinion. From the spa, Olivia, Jeanelle, and the acupuncture doctor are miracle workers/healers; I had the Elemis Seaweed Wrap, acupuncture, and pedicure/manicure. Great job, Brat Pack. I admire and appreciate that the captain made an itinerary change for safety and out of respect for what the folks in Tortola were facing following a bad storm. Room steward Alfredo (who covered 15156) is a wonderful ambassador for NCL. There was so much fun and so many activities onboard that everyone found things they loved, and yet no one could possibly do everything in just a week. The wait staff in the restaurants were phenomonal, especially Matteos in Le Bistro. Tyler, Jackie, and JoJo were hysterical and welcoming. I can not thank the Escape officers, crew, and staff enough for this life-changing vacation. May God bless them always. Read Less

This cruise was amazing!!! My first Norwegian (have done 2 Royal Caribbeans) and I liked this even better. We originally chose this because of the deal for the free drink package which ended up being the best thing ever. It paid for itself (there was a "service fee" it wasn't totally free) in less than 24 hours. Getting on board was easy and the rooms were ready pretty quickly. The service the entire cruise was outstanding from waiters to bartenders to room attendants to everyone else we interacted with. We stayed in the inside room and it was small but perfectly fine. We spent so little time in there anyway. All the activities on the boat that we did were a lot of fun. We really enjoyed Spice H2O and spent a lot of time there. The grotto is awesome. We ate at the dining rooms for dinner all but 2 nights we ate at Moderno Churrascaria because it was so good the first time we had to go back. Under $60 for 2 and the food was incredible. The freestyle dining is SO MUCH better than having an assigned time, it was one of our favorite things. We were so amazed by the number of bar and restaurant options on board. We were supposed to go to Tortola but we could not because of a storm they had so we went to San Juan, Puerto Rico instead. The way the staff handled that switch 2 days into the cruise was amazing and they made getting a new shore excursion so easy. We saw Howl at the Moon 3 nights and loved them so much. They were so talented and funny I highly recommend checking them out. We also saw the Levity Comedy group and they were very funny. The only thing I wish was a little different is the amount of pool space seemed small. There were loads of chairs but the pools themselves were small and usually very full. Read Less

Last year was the first time ever that we cruised with Norwegian. We were so impressed with Norwegian and the ship that we booked the identical cruise this year. However, this year it fell short. Embarkation was a mess. What is the point of offering times to come and check in, if the whole ship is checking in with you. Freestyle dinner I guess means sitting next to someone in shorts and a t-shirt that says "whoop ass". Why is there a dress code for only one restaurant, not all. And I am not talking about suits and dresses, just appropriate dress would be fine. Our cabin steward was either new, overwhelmed or just not cut out for the hustle and bustle that the first few days of the cruise brings. We asked for bathrobes, took 2 days. One morning went to take a shower, only 1 towel. None were replaced from cleaning previous day and left the wet pool towel still on the floor in the bathroom. Finally took but never replaced that day or the next. We were down to 1 pool towel. The Escape Room game was WAY TOO complicated. A waste of time. In addition, it was scheduled for 10:15 am, we got there at 9:55 and the gentleman proceeded to tell us that our reservation had been cancelled and that we would have to wait in the "stand-by" line. That our group of 4 would be split up. I asked why and he said we were to have checked in 15 minutes before. Well we were. After much "discussion" the crew member in charge told me he would work it out. Which they did. That was ridiculous since we were there 20 minutes prior, not the mandatory 15. The Manhattan dining room, while very lovely, OMG the entertainment is soooo LOUD! There is no way to have a conversation with your table mates when the entertainment is live. That was my only complaint last year and remains this year. One night in Savor, it took forever to get our main course after our appetizer. It was a good 15-20 minutes which caused us to miss the show we were planning on going to that night. We were participating in a game show in the Atrium and here comes a ship announcement from the Cruise Director. Don't you know that one of your staff is conducting a game and how are we supposed to finish? It was so loud that we could not finish the game. The girl just had to put the answers up on the screen and scroll through them one at a time to which people got up and left. Stupid! Last year we had no issues with the iConcierge. It was a great way for those of us traveling together to communicate. This year did not work at all. 3 of us had the app on our phones. I was actually sitting next to my husband and we were trying it out and it said it couldn't locate me. All 3 of us went to the the IT person and we were doing everything right, just didn't work, ever! Disembarking. The last day at sea, we went to the front desk to purchase travel from the port to Ft. Lauderdale airport. We were told that it had to be purchased by 6pm the night before. WHAT? You've got to be kidding!!!! He shows us where it states that in the program from the night before. After the days activities are listed, miscellaneous items are then printed. NOT on the first page where you would see it. Something that important you would think would be a little more visible on the daily program. We wound up purchasing the transportation as we got off the boat on the gangway. They had a podium set aside as you walked off. If you're doing it then, why couldn't you do it the night before? There has to be a way to monitor guests smoking on their balconies. They were everywhere. I smelled cigarette smoke all the time when I went outside. I reported one, not sure what the outcome was but not only dangerous but a disgusting smell to have to endure when you are out on your expensive balcony relaxing. Overall the ship is a beautiful, the food is great, the activities are fun, just very disappointed this time this time in the service. Read Less

I chose this cruise for its solo cabin (discussed below) and its itinerary. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The specialty restaurants were excellent and worth the extra money. The steakhouse was probably the best I've had on a cruise, and I was addicted to Food Repbulic. The shows were the best I've ever seen on a ship. It was probably the "youngest" cruise I've been on--a lot of teenagers--and I won't say that wasn't annoying. The nightlife is off the chain, though, with wild deck parties. The '80s party was fantastic. The slides were great, as was the Grotto in the adult area. Downsides: The MDR was very "hurry up and wait," and the food didn't impress me at all. I didn't even eat in the buffet--it was usually pretty chaotic, and the food didn't look like it was worth the chaos. There were waits for elevators. The placement of guest services by the atrium was awful on the last day, when people were trying to make last-minute arrangements and correct problems while a loud event was blaring right next to them. It was often hard to find a quiet spot on the ship, and the pools were always crowded. Read Less

I thought Norwegian Curise line would be an excellent vacation even if it cost more than other cruise lines. I paid everything up front. I had the top drink package, paid gratuities. I only paid for things I bought home like gifts etc. I wasn't on the ship one day and my bill was $300.00, they said I had no drink package. This happened every day for 3 days. They wouldn't listen to me even after I showed them my receipts which I was glad I took them with me. We made reservations for different shows only to be turned away several times. The dinner was terrible. Once I ordered battered vegetables and they came to me mushie. I sent them back and I got mushie again. There was always an excuse. Like the kitchen was far away and by the time they came to me they got soft. Thanks Read Less

I was extremely familiar with NCL as I had over 10 cruises with them. Embarkation went smooth at the Miami terminal and was on the ship with 30 minutes of arrival at the port. I was in the Haven area and as a solo cruiser I paid a premium in order to be there. I will break the review into two parts- the room and the service. The room and the Haven suite I had was very relaxing, comfortable, and well maintained. They were even able to get a lounger onto the balcony. The services in the Haven area were what you expect for being in the exclusive area of the ship. The food was to standard, the rooms were to standard, and the small pool area was nice to relax in. The services outside of the Haven area (to include the specialty dining options) were not to the NCL standard. I had issues with the Spa Acupuncturist personally insulting me for arriving prior to my appointment time; when I stated I arrived early because that is what I am taught being military she replied that they were not military and I should have known to arrive at the time listed. My meal at La Cucina was to be an appetizer, salad, entree with a side dish, and then desert. My appetizer arrived as scheduled, then my entree arrived without the side dish, halfway through the entree the waiter asks if I got my salad. Never did get the side dish. The quality of service I received was not what I expected of NCL based on my previous experiences with NCL. And after these and other issues the staff and crew were attempting to "make it right" but I rather it had been right the first time. Overall the trip was not am enjoyable experience; I feel I might have outgrown the level of service that NCL provides. Read Less

Because she was a new ship. We always cruise NCL. The cruise director Tyler was amazing he is every where on the ship and gets everyone involved. Plays a mean set of drums and sings too. Howel at the Moon was awesome as usual. The Brat Rat was awesome as well. The comedians were great too. There was someone cleaning this ship everyday. The railings and glass just over all best cruise yet. Photographers were not real pesty this cruise which was nice. We tried 5 specialty restaurants this cruise. There were some that stood out better then others but over all very good. Would recomend Teppanchi and Monderos. Didn't like the idea that if you have the dining package you still have an up charge for Baymo's. Also no lobster til anymore disappointing. Didn't like that there is smoking in the casino and that smoke radiates down to deck 6 where some of the restaurants are and it smells so bad. The smokers should be closed in there own area with a door so the smoke isn't flowing everywhere. Read Less
