We were excited to cruise to the ports on the extended cruise for 25th Anniversary. Little did we know it would be a 80s themed cruise both entertainment and passengers. If we did ...we never would have booked it. Be aware when we got back and I called Carnival told me that the older age group is common for the Journey Cruises. (Didn’t see that in the description)Other than that I can’t say enough about the crew, they were awesome. The cabin we had was nice for an older ship. We did love all of the ports and excursions. We snorkeled at all. But the repetition of entertainment was hard. For 12 days you need a bigger variety. We got bored. We have been on other cruises and will cruise again. Just not on a “Senior Cruise” lol. We are in our 50s not wild but do like to have fun! I’ve never been on a cruise that there was no dancing by the pool on sea days. The repetitive music was killing us if I never hear Hotel California on a steel drum I will die a happy woman. Read Less

Started my journey by driving to Ft Lauderdale on Friday before the cruise. Stayed at the Hampton Inn Cruise Port North. Great hotel for cruising out of Miami or Fort Lauderdale. They have a shuttle to Miami now and parking at hotel.. Left on Satuarday morning for parking in Miami. It took about thirty minutes to get to Safe cruise Parking lot. Easy to find and good shuttle service.Took about fifteen minutes from the lot to the ship. Arrived at ship about 1100 am for an 1130 check in time. Went thru the line more quickly than ever before. By 1130 I was already on the ship and in the Lido eating. Looked like half the ship was already there. As priority I had left my bag in the room.My key was not there yet , but room was open. Key was put in box around noon. Around 4 pm we has muster drill. The might have been the worst part of the trip. It was outside and took around thirty minutes. First night was a normal first night. Had dinner in main dining room. As then just roamed the ship Next two full days were sea days and the normal activities took place, Shows , Bingo. Karouke, comedy club. Second Night was the first formal night and normal lobster feast for those desiring . Tuesday was first shore day in St Crouix. Friends have a villa there we rented a car and visited there. Afterwards did a tour of Captain Morgan distillery. Then returned to boat for departure.. Wed was Shore day at Guadeloupe. The main currency here was the Euro. There were places to exchange money or you could use exchange that people would take. Took a taxi to beach where we found a Club Med and stayed on the each there. You could pay for chair and use of facility or use beach for nothing. Thursday Barbados was next port. I just took walk around town of Bridgetown and then took a rest. Friday Martinique took a ferry to the beach and spent the morning at the beach , rented a beach chair and umbrella for ten dollars. Afternoon returned to town and just did some site seeing. They also used Euros but more friendly to dollars Sat was Antiqua. My whole group took an tour pf the Island. Was supposed to be tow hours, turned into three and a half hours. Was a very good tour and great driver, and was a great price. After this took tour of shopping areas. Really is a beautiful Island Sunday was St Martin We all did out normal beach day , get a chair and umbrella and sit on the beach with a bucket of beers. and shopping. Monday was Tortola. had planned on ferry to Virgin Gorda but got off boat to late for early ferry, so took another two hour bus tour around entire Island from Carribbean side to Atlantic side. Really was a beautiful Island recovering still from Hurricane Irma. Next two and a half days were sea days with regular activities.for cruises. This was a journeys cruise so there were special activities going on during the cruise , such as ice sculpture feast on Tuesday night. There was also a second formal night on which lobster was again served. The Lido dining room was average, usual types of food was served, Best food on Lido was the grill where sandwiches were served usually the most popular place. Also had the greasy hamburger stand, Seafood shack was extra, Sushi was extra. Pizza was good as usual. Main dining room food was good to average. Service was good but some times the food was cold or luke warm. The desserts have become a joke in the dining room and the lido deck. Not a great variety. Used the banana split option several times. The ship was kept clean and when things did break they were usually quickly fixed. Older ship is stating to show rust , but they were painting at most ports. The entertainment in the ship lounges and common areas was some of the best i have seen on Carnival. I did not usually attend more than ten minutes of shows as i have seen mos if i recognized it i left. Had a hyptomist one night was really good. The cruise staff did a good job of leading activities during the cruise and usually had good attendance. The service was excellent i my room, dining area and quest services. Had no problems when i tried to get help. Cabin was good condition and steward was excellent. Had a safe needing a swipe card to open. Had a fridge that worked. Television was awful. Only news was CBSN . Kept running the same thing over and over and then had old news shows. Arrived home in Miami before 7 on thursday. Had several hundred people in priority debarkation and only too about 15 minutes to get off boat and thru customs. One of the best i have had in 25 cruises. My shuttle was waiting and by 730 i was on I 95. I would do this cruise again, great ports. Only down pat was it took to many days to get home, which i knew before hand Read Less

This was an awesome cruise overall!! The service and staff were amazing. The ports were very interesting and the Carnival excursion were a great value for what we paid. The food was very good as was the entertainment and activities. We really enjoyed the Serenity Deck and spent a lot of time there. Our room stewards were awesome very friendly and helpful with all of our requests. We did not go to the dining room only because we like to eat when and what we want. We never found line ups at the buffet and enjoyed the varied food choices. The ports are very beautiful and three were new to us which is one of the reasons we chose this cruise. We also enjoyed the Journey's cruise 12 days was awesome. We would definitely do another cruise on the Glory as well as another Journeys cruise. Cruise director Cookie was awesome. Read Less

We have travelled on Many Cruises(25+) over the years and was quite disappointed with the Glory, very out dated and the staff had great difficulty with English, this is the only cruise I had ever been on where It was so difficult to communicate with the staff, our cabin Steward (Dana) she was a pleasure to see each day, very pleasant, cheerful and very efficient, the dining room staff were pleasant, when it was possible to communicate with them, the food in the Dining Room was a bit repetitive and quite institutional compared with our experiences with the Conquest and the Breeze, where the food and service was exceptional, the Buffett on the Glory for Lunch and Dinner was extremely limited you can see the cut backs on food costs, it is ok to be concern with food costs but at least make the items appealing to your guests, it look cheap and tasted cheap. The overall hand sanitizing policy was not enforced on the Entrances to the various food venues, on other ships the staff are quick to tell you make sure you clean your hands before entering and there are usually hand Washing and Sanitizing stations available, there was not much emphasis on this important issue of hand washing to minimize the spread of Disease, the ship clearly needed better management for their Hotel Services, We will definitely think twice before booking with Carnival and never with the Carnival Casino Players Club a huge disappointment they use the Bait and Switch, they will offer promotions and perks with their program and once you board the ship, they have no knowledge of the offers, not a good way to do business. TRULY WAY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I have cruised many many times but have not cruised Carnival for many many years, choosing instead the supposedly more upscale cruises on NCL, RCL, Celebrity. I chose this as I was the cruise planner for 3 of my family, 2 of which, had never cruised before. I needed to keep the price affordable for them, but also provide them with the best cruising experience with several ports of call, good and multiple free food options on the ship, and lots of activities on the ship. Spouse and I had not had the best experience on Carnival previously (though this was many many years ago) as far as customer experience, rowdiness on the ship, etc. However, this experience blew my concerns totally out of the water - pun intended! This was the absolute best cruise I have ever taken and I've taken many! The ship Glory, though an older ship, is updated, clean and beautiful. Staff are constantly cleaning every aspect of the ship. As a health care professional, I appreciated their attention to infection control from the environment to the food prep and service. It is clear, in all aspects, that safety is first! The customer service was perfect - impeccable from every staff member we encountered, no matter what position - very impressive! All staff were friendly, attentive, helpful, ALWAYS! Food was excellent! Family loved the main dining room - with great and multiple food choices - and the entertainment every evening by the singing/dancing wait staff! There were also multiple free food options, other than the dining room, - also very good - and more free options than I've seen on other cruise lines! Ship entertainment was phenomenal and by far, the best I have ever experienced on a cruise!!!! If someone did not have fun on this ship, they must be dead! So many options - from comedy shows, lido deck parties, production shows, game shows, movies, dancing, water park/slides, mini golf, plus the usual running/walking track, enrichment activities, gym, spa, casino, shopping, etc.. There was multiple live music venues always going at various locations on the ship -something for everyone - and all of the music was terrific! I also appreciated Carnival's support and fundraising for St. Judes. CARNIVAL LIVES UP TO ITS NAME AS THE FUN SHIP!!! The Carnival excursions were also very good and well run (speaking from what excursions we took). COOKIE IS THE BEST ACTIVITY CRUISE DIRECTOR EVER!!! I love you Cookie! He is the best I've every had the pleasure of experiencing!! His humor, and superior people and organization skills, truly made this cruise so memorable!! He is A+!! The guy never stops working! of the and he truly seems to love what he does. The ship appears to be very well run - especially in crowd control -considering there were almost 3000 passengers on board (and only slightly less staff). There were not long lines for dining, etc.; ship does not feel crowded, enough pool lounge chairs, etc. Embark and debark process were also the easiest, fastest, and smoothiest I've ever seen in my many cruises! My only tiny complaint was regarding gym/spa. I would like to have seen more exercise classes offered, not just the few few yoga/pilates...for example, Zumba, Jazzercize-type classes, etc. Carnival - you definitely wowed me and I'll be back!!! We chose this particular cruise because of the date and itinerary. First cruise for me and fourth for my wife. Problems with Carnival's transportation from the airport but great accommodation at embarkation! First impression: The Glory is a GORGEOUS SHIP! We had a fabulous balcony stateroom with excellent service. Food was fabulous at the main dining room (Platinum) and plenty of options for lunch every day. No excuse not to be happy with SOMETHING that was there! Lots of beautiful desserts and fruit too! We loved the couple that was assigned to sit with us every night in the dining room. 98% of our fellow cruisers were so much fun and wanted to be friendly and enjoy. The wait staff was superb and talented! We loved Adam (our main dining waiter) and the rest of the staff. Food quality and presentation was mostly superb. The buffets were of lesser quality but wide variety that can easily satisfy your appetite. We loved their lemonade!! There is so much to do on the ship. Now that I reflect back on the cruise, we could have spent the entire time on the ship and explore all the activities rather than go onshore and do excursions. We were going to get off the ship and do the tourist thing and support the local economies! We are disappointed that we never went down the tubes or went in any of the pools. We really liked how the Glory had a separate "Adults Only" section that we enjoyed to lay on the loungers and enjoy the beautiful views. Actually, the few children we saw on board were well behaved and a credit to their families. Quite a few infants and toddlers that were so cute. I personally did not like how the ship pushes alcohol especially in the form of shots during dinner times. They do not tell you it is an additional expense (I should know that by now) but you do get to keep the souvenir shot glass for $10. We had a fabulous excursion in Roatan Honduras! We did the snorkeling/beach excursion which included the skyrides - highly recommended! Not much to see as far as snorkeling but the water was gorgeous and staff friendly. We had a poor excursion in Belize. We bought the snorkeling excursion which required a long tender boat ride to the coral reefs. To our dismay, we already had a large group from the Glory and we picked up even more people from another ship! All in a boat too small for choppy water but I also understand it had to be small enough to let us get off and on from the excursion. Just way too many people on the excursion as a couple of people kept on running into me as I was snorkeling. Those people in back of the large group did not get the benefit on the one guide's statements. So we had about 20 minutes of actual snorkeling over the beautiful coral reefs with gorgeous fish and other sea life. Then we were brought back on the boat to the cove (island) for a break. Come to find out that was it and I was mad as I thought we got ripped off with such a short snorkeling experience! I wanted to go out by myself but I knew it was pretty far out from the island. It was windy but I still thought we should have had at least two passes through the coral and cut back on the number of people for one group. The de-embarkation was confusing as we had an excursion to the Everglades. Very long walk through customs and to the excursion which was very interesting and enjoyable. Read Less

My wife and I took this 7 night Caribbean cruise in February / 2019. Our boarding process was very fast compared to other cruises The ship has several attractions and places to have fun: table tennis, two water slides, swimming pools, plenty of deck chairs to sunbathe on the decks. The theater was never crowded at nightly shows. In two of the 7 nights, there was no show, but only entertainment by the Cruise Director, including situations in my view embarrassing, exposing the intimate life of couples. I'd rather have shows in place of these competitions. In the first morning I decided to order hot milk, but it was so hard to get it that the other days I gave up. Two employees serving on the deck 9 buffet told me they had no hot milk at all. Another employee who was collecting dishes told me that I could ask to warm up in the coffe shop. Then I went back to one of those who had denied the existence of hot milk and he took my cup with cold milk and brought hot and sparkling. Poor training and customer service In relation to food, in general it is varied and of great quality. The problem is the opening hours of the buffet for lunch (Deck 9). Each day it has a different time, if you are not aware of the brochure delivered in the cabin, you may miss the main meal. This also occurs during the stops, where you end up coming back later. After 2:30 pm depending on the day you only find pizza, sandwiches or cheeseburger to eat until dinner time (in my case it was 8:15 pm). They could leave at least some healthy and light food choices in this period, such as fruits and cookies. On other ships the buffet does not close all day, only decreasing the amount of food offerings. Information on stops, activities and excursions could be much better. I went to the excursion office to ask for hints and the attendant simply gave me a huge book, with hundreds of options for me to turn around, showing no interest in helping us choose. I did all the rides on my own, which was a lot cheaper than hiring in the ship. In regards to maps and information on the places the note is ZERO. They distribute a small map of each port, just to advertise for jewelry stores, without informing NOTHING about the place. An example: on Roatan Island, Honduras they distributed this useless map. At the end of the afternoon, almost at the time of our return we discovered that next to the port there is an excellent beach (Mahogany Beach), with all infrastructure (chairs, restaurants, shades) totally free. None of this was informed in the ship, so you have to pay the expensive excursions to go to other beaches. The constant warnings by the ship's sound system by the cruise director are very annoying and are often early in the morning, disrupting anyone who wants to sleep. Although it is a cruise leaving Miami, visiting Spanish-speaking countries, everything is in English, notices, leaflets etc. They could make versions of the most important instructions at least in other languages (as Disney parks do) TV works fine. Two channel with new movies, two for kids, one with CBSN and one with old B movies (this last always with a delay between image and sound). Read Less

This was our second Carnival Cruise. We have sailed on most lines but primarily Celebrity and Princess. We did a back to back sailing on the next February 16th Journeys cruise. I chose Carnival because of the ports of call on this cruise and the Journeys cruise. Quickest, easliest embarkation I have had in 30 plus crusies Main dining room food was good. Variety, good choices, great breakfasts overall I cannot complain about the Main Dining room food, The Lido buffet for breakfast, not many choices, and the same food every day. Lunch at the buffet was better, more daily changes and the highlight were the desserts for lunch the best I have ever seen but the Mexican, burgers, deli and Barbecue do help ad to the variety. Cabin, balcony, was fine. Enough storage. Only service the room 1 time a day unless you request 2 times. Once a day was fine for us. The ship takes getting use to finding you was around. You cannot get there from here, especially on deck 3 and 4. Seems to be enough deck space though not always around the pool. The pools are small. Not happy at all about photography stations. I counted 10 stations on deck 5 and another 4 on deck 3,deck 5 is the main thorofare, taking up chairs and space where we could sit before and after dinner. I guess we know where the profit is. That is why I rated Public Rooms as poor, they aren't public when they are taken up by Carnival selling something. Entertainment was good. Read Less

My wife and i are platinum Carnival cruisers and this time had 4 family members along, including our 2 year old grandson. He was a bit overwhelmed by all the sites and sounds, but had a great time. The crew gave him special attention throughout the ship and always stopped to talk to him. The overall cruise was very good and there were some positive changes that are easily noticed. The crew seemed even more friendly than past cruises and were constantly asking if things were good. At one point my son, had an issue with noise outside his cabin from workers doing maintenance. He commented to staff that he just got his son down for a nap and they moved the workers temporarily. We've never seen that before. In addition, the big shows are back. For the last few years, shows were more cabaret-like with minimal cast and very little live music. Frankly, they were boring and we mostly avoided them or left early. This cruise had 3 great shows, with singers, dancers, and a large latin-style band. The Cruise director (Cookie) was fun and really took the time to talk with guests. Since we were traveling with others, we took advantage of the Carnival Hub app for the first time. If you have never used this app before, give it a try. It is a fantastic way to keep in touch with each other, make plans for the day, book excursions, and keep track of expenses. The biggest negative for us was that our grandson has allergies and required a special diet. We were assured pre-cruise, that this would be no problem. We understand cooking for a 2 year old can be difficult, especially one with allergies, however each night it was a challenge to get items meeting his needs. The wait staff was great and tried very hard to work with the chef, but choices were limited. Over the years, we have always tried to rate the entire cruise and not just the 1 or 2 things that don't go quite right. We definitely see Carnival making some changes. Some are obvious cost savers, but overall they seem to be getting back to the guest first strategy that has always worked in the past. I would continue to recommend Carnival and we are looking forward to our next cruise. Read Less

This was my 3rd cruise on Carnival and while we had fun it just wasn't their best effort. The ship is tattered and torn, the entertainment was disappointing with the exception of the comedians they were pretty good but the other shows were pretty lame. The food started out pretty good but Guy's Burgers was a let down from my previous cruise, the dining room was tasty at first as well but the last 2 nights they dropped the ball I was disappointed with everything except the desserts they were good. The ship in general must be due for dry dock there was just a lot that seemed to be in need of repair, soft spots in the floor, uneven floors and quite a bit of rust. They seemed to be working on the ship at every port with crazy amounts of noise coming from unknown areas. This was my first time in a balcony room we were in 8381 which was under the dining area of the lido deck, it was noisy but not from the people something sounded like it was it was big and heavy rolling on the deck above at night, it was quite annoying at night which was the only time that it was heard. The room was ok, the TV remote worked randomly but then they offer nothing to watch. I get it they want you out spending money but really the TV sucked. The cabin Stewart only cleaned out room once a day which was quite a change from the past when they were in the room as much as I was. The ports were ok except for St. Thomas, 10 ships at the same time was just to many people we went to Megan's bay and I wasn't impressed we has 10 times the fun on the beach in Grand Turk right off the ship on the beach with a lot less people. In general I love cruises this was my 5th and I'm sorry to say it was probably the least fun of all of the others cruises. I'll probably go on Carnival again but I will put a lot more time into researching the age of the ship and as to how many ships will be in port at the same time. I do have to give them credit the embarkation and disembarkation was the best that I have ever witnessed, it was quick on and off. The Miami airport that is a nightmare I'll probably go with Canaveral or New Orleans next time. Read Less

Found most staff courteous and hard working. Our balcony room was great, stewards kept it very clean and we never had to ask for anything additional. We got the social wifi, it was ok but didnt function as well as we had hoped. Cookie was the CD and he was amazing, I would go on any ship he was on. He made up for the fee negatives we experienced. I would probably not book the Glory again if another ship could meet our needs. Just didnt leave with the normal sense of satisfaction as we have on other ships. Read Less

Our cruise was a romantic getaway for 2 40-something first time cruisers. PROs: The selection of ports (Grand Cayman/Roatan/Belize City/Cozumel), all the food options on the Glory, dive-in movies, omelette station, elegant dinner menu, functionality of the stateroom CONs: One of our ports was cancelled, ambiguity of excursion tickets, breakfast options besides the omelette station SHIP: I didn't see the rust others have written about, I thought the outside areas were fine. The interior of the ship looks like it was decorated in the 80's instead of 20 years ago. Just go in knowing the decor is not your primary reason for booking. ENTERTAINMENT: The sea was so choppy that the Motown show was just an hour of the singers sitting in chairs singing medleys. I would hope that it's much better with the dancing. But based off the rock show and another show we caught... the dancing didn't add much. I'd give them one star. We were happier watching movies on the Lido deck. The comedians were pretty good. Better get there early, the place gets packed for the late shows. I enjoy piano bars, so I made it there twice. I wouldn't recommend the singer we had, but he said it was his last cruise with Carnival so hopefully they bring on someone much better. We only attended the finale of the lip sync battle because we met one of the contestants during the week. We were pleasantly surprised, it was actually the best show we caught all week. The Cruise Director and fun squad get involved and it is very entertaining. The hairy chest contest was hilarious, but I don't recommend bringing kids to it. FOOD: Great selection of specialty venues, and most of them were free. I just wish those were open more often. The breakfast buffet is not good. We ended up with omelettes almost every day, which takes a bit longer standing in line. The desserts, even at the buffet, were delicious. We only ate in the main dining room twice. The food at the first elegant dinner was decent, but the second elegant dinner was one of my top 10 meals ever. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: We booked 2 excursions through Carnival - one in Grand Cayman and one in Belize. We weren't able to visit Grand Cayman due to the weather. You have to take a smaller boat called a tender to get on the island. The sea was too rough to throw a plank between the 2 boats, so we had another "fun day at sea" instead of what I was looking forward to most, swimming with stingrays. When they announced the news, the staff was not surprised. Someone asked how often this happens, and a staffer said 50%. I'm not sure if that's overall, or 50% of the time the water is choppy. But be warned if you plan on a Grand Cayman port - you might not get to see it. Thankfully Carnival automatically refunded our excursion fares. There is no communication on your Carnival excursions other than tickets delivered to your room the day prior. Out Belize excursion tickets read "Departs from: 7:45 am" and also "Depart time: 8:30 am". In my mind, we have to be at the location stated on board between 7:45-8:30 AM. We checked in to the meeting location before 8:30 AM and showed them our tickets. They advised us to have a seat until we're called. After we were called we waited on the steps for debarking about a half hour before our tender arrived. When we arrived in Belize City, we were told that we missed our tour! Cruise vets, please keep in mind we were first time cruisers. You need to go by the earliest time on your tickets. By the time they could find someone to help us, the other major tours were gone as well. So we went 0 for 2 on our Carnival-booked excursions. At least they credited us for this missed excursion as well, and we made the most out of the day with shopping and bars. The drinks are about $12 after gratuity and some occasional additional tips, so consider that when deciding on the drink package. We didn't get the package, but came within about $20 of it, so it actually is priced about right. Get the package if you're committed to drinking every day. Overall we were very happy with the experience despite some setbacks. I look forward to cruising again, possibly with Carnival. Read Less

Those were the Pros; Cons; The ship's photographers were aggressive in getting photo's at every opportunity they see you. AVOID THE EFFY JEWELRY STORE! It is truly buyer beware at this place. I found a nice ring only later to find it was nothing more than costume jewelry grade piece at fine jewelry prices. Don't be dubbed as I was. We went on this cruise with friends. We had great meals at the steakhouse, platinum dining room for breakfast, and golden dining room for dinner. Our servers, Ronaldo, Wayan and Pira were awesome, making dinner fun and comfortable. We loved their song and dance shows. We went to many events on board including nightly shows in the amber room, they were all amazing! Singing, dancing, and comedy too. We ventured to the casino, comedy club and lido deck for movies. Staff were always helpful and friendly. The ports were nice and we loved our excursion in Cozumel with Sylvia taking us to the beach club and shopping. Tequila tasting and Fish pedicures! We returned to the ship early at each port to enjoy quiet time by the pool and in the hot tub. Jose was our server throughout the week, always having a drink ready to replace our empty glass, whether at the pool or in the comedy club. He always had recommendations and was a smiling face we enjoyed seeing each day. The Fun Squad was great, including Frankie the cruise director, CoCo, and JJ. We enjoyed trivia on several days with Milan. Always good for laughs. All and all, we had a great cruise and can't wait to do it again soon. Our only downfall was literally falling down. Three of the four in our party fell on the wet deck/floor after the rain. When the slippery when wet signs are out, be careful. Read Less

Carnival Glory's Room service they are the happiest people always saying hello knew our names. Our rooms were clean old decorating style. The Punchliner Comedy shows are hilarious. They have them every night but 1. I was disappointed that it was too crowed and couldn't find a seat one time. The piano bar is fun. Putt putt golf was ok. Steam room is good. Guys burgers are the best burgers. I enjoy the Mexican bar.The deli and pizza is good. The buffet can be over crowed and hard to find seats. On sailing days for breakfast you can eat eggs and steak in dinning room. The dinning room food has a nice selection.I wish there was more mango, papaya and star fruit. In Cozumel I highly recommend San Gervasco ruins Edward tour guide is Mayan and very knowledgeable and funny. You go to the same Ports on all of cruise lines and they have the same excursions. The Balcony is more affordable on Glory. The musical shows are good the first time you see them but they have the same exact shows 2 years latter. In Belize the boat ride I wish there were life jackets.I highly recommend river boat excursion seeing monkeys, iguanas, bats manatee noses and nice size Lauranal Mayan ruins was impressive. In the spa I paid in advance they recharged my credit card after service and added gratitude, this was a hassle because I had to stand in a long line for a long time to pay off balance carnival should fix this. As stated in the title, the Crew, Entertainment, and Activities were great! They sure know how to keep you busy, but we were not impressed with the shape the ship was in. Our cabin had dirt in the crevices, the gasket around the window was peeling off, the sink in our room wouldn't go down (this was fixed), our shower drained so slowly that the first night we flooded the floor in the bathroom (this was fixed as well). As for the rest of the ship, there were dents in the elevators, broken glass, broken doors, pictures barely hanging on. It just did not impress us. In fact, my husband said if this was the first cruise he ever went on, he'd never go on another cruise again. Also, they only had one side of the buffet open at a time for lunch and dinner. The BBQ and Taco place are only opened from Noon-2:30. They were two of the best places to eat on the ship. Now for the good things. The steak house was to die for. We walked away stuffed. The crew was great, like they normally are. William, our room attendant always went out of his way to acknowledge us and greet us with a smile. We played trivia, BINGO, and went to the comedy club and the nightly entertainment. The guys and gals in the Motown, Island Party and Epic Rock were outstanding. We had a blast going to those shows. A Western Caribbean cruise out of Miami which left Miami on its coldest day in 5 years - it should have been an indicator. We started with two days of cold, rainy and windy weather but that didn't stop us being entertained and having fun. We were unable to make our scheduled stop at Grand Cayman as it was unsafe for the tenders to take us to port - this was disappointing as we were really looking forward to visiting Hell. Unfortunately for Carnival, 20 sun loungers were lost over the edge of the ship. Once we'd passed through our bad weather things improved. Our stops at Roatan, Belize and Cozumel were lovely and the weather was gorgeous. It was certainly a cruise for Carnival to grab back some of our winnings - the coldest craps table on record must have been the award that week. Still, between Maria, Sushi, Ignatius, Brian and Simon and casino supervisor Errol, our dealers still provided great entertainment and service. I'll certainly be looking to re-run at least part of this itinerary so that I can go to Hell - and back again! Read Less

This was our second time on the Glory. While she is one of their older ships but we still love her charm. The crew was amazing as before. The food was great. Our cruise director Cookie was a blast. He did a great job interacting with the passengers and genuinely enjoyed hanging out with us and welcoming with questions we may would have had. We had a nice conversation with him and it felt like we were hanging out with a friend. We got a couples massage in the spa that was great. I attended a ladies pampering seminar where we were given a fantastic deal that was extended to my husband and well. The only thing we were disappointed in were the shows. We were on her a year before and they were the same exact shows. The group of folks that performed last year we're so talented. This year not so much. Our meals in the main dining room were very good. The only complaint I have there is that I was only able to get the Creme brulee once and they didn't have escargot this time on the menu. We highly recommend the behind the scenes tour. It was well worth the money and suggest booking it as soon as the excursions desk opens when you embark because it is limited to 16 people and sells out fast. Embarking and disembarking was a breeze. We had twenty people (14 adults/6 children) on this cruise for a family getaway and a grandaughter's birthday. The trip was arranged by my daughter; and let me explain that I had not been a big fan of cruises but love my daughter. The entire cruise was great; from the comedy shows, to the musical entertainment, to the bars, Guy's Burgers, Rum Bar, Lobby Bar, Bar BQ, shore excursions and our ship cabin. Three things made this an exceptional cruise: 1) Chef Chang and Staff (I apologize for not remebering the staff names). We signed up for the Chef's Dinner (additional charge but was the best money we spent). All twenty of us were the guests of Chef Chang and her staff. Normally this is only provided to a maximum of fourteen people but they agreed to accomodate our group of twenty. The tour of the galley was very interesting with incredible organization. The twenty of us had a private dining room for the entire evening (approximately three hours) for incredible appetizers and many excellent food courses (ranging from Sea Bass to Wagyu Beef). Chef Chang and her staff were totally focused on our needs, with the younger children who were not as adventurous with food, they provided chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese andf french fries. The entire group continued to talk about this experience for the entire cruise; the younger kids requesting to see Chef Chang later during the cruise (three times) and she responded every time to come see us during our dining time. Chef Chang and staff truly understand meeting client needs. We are thankful to this entire group. 2) Adam and I Nyomen our service staff in the Platinum Dining room-early table 609. This is where we ate the majority of our meals and these individuals did an exceptinal job. Regardless of what was requested (crazy or not), and we requested some crazy things, they always met our requests with a smile and great service. These two individuals made our dining experience very memorable from the food ordered to the dancing in which our grandchildren participated. 3) Gemma and Mae, our cabin attendants. Gemma always greeted us pleasantly every day and kept our cabin with everything we requested. From ice, towels, soap and questons about the ship she accomodated all our needs. She and Mae made up incredible towel animals each morning and also surprised us one evening with what I thought was a man on our bed (Just Gemma and crew working with bath towels). While all aspects of our cruise were great; these are the individuals on the cruise that insured our experience was exceptional and memorable. Many thanks! Read Less

It was my first cruise in over 10 years, and the first ever for my husband and parents. We all loved it and can’t wait to go back. Cousin Cookie was an excellent cruise director and the entire ship staff went above and beyond. We felt like royalty. She isn’t one of the newer ships, but still has plenty of fun to offer everyone. My only negative, all be it small, was that the talent of the stage show singers wasn’t as good as I remember, but that could just be the casts we saw. Also, the breakfast buffet was the same thing every day, a bit of variety in that arena would have been nice. With that said, I’m not much of a breakfast person in general, so my opinion may be skewed. They did manage to get the playoff football games streamed to the deck as well so the football fans ever in Heaven. Read Less

We chose this ship because of the ports and price. Everything was perfect from the crew, entertainment and food. Cruise director “Cookie” was amazing!! St. Thomas and Amber Cove were our favourite ports but we enjoyed San Juan and Grand Turk were good as well. Cabin was good and didn’t hear the galley above us hardly at all. We were on deck 2 and the noise wasn’t bad in the hall at all. My 12 year old daughter joined the kids club for a lot of activities and Terry who ran it was wonderful with the kids. The Glory is moving to New Orleans or we would love to sail on her again. It was the perfect size. I’m not into those massive ships so I found the Glory just right! We had the best wait staff and ate at the dining room every night. Always had the chocolate melting cake. Yummy! Read Less

The Glory is a great ship! She's a perfect size and rides the water smoothly. Embarkation was quick as was disembarkation. Expect some elevator delays during embarkation/debarkation day as the crew use them for luggage simultaneously. We opted for the Everglades/FLL airport excursion and it worked out well for return to the airport. Dining was a bit of a problem this time, therefore, we will opt for anytime dining next cruise. Sometimes it is nice to mix up your table mates! Food was generally good. Buffet has a difficult time keeping selections hot. Burrito bowl at Blue Iguana is great, as is a burger from Guy's! This particular group of performers for the live shows were very good! The best I've seen/heard in the past 4 years..good job! Comedians were great, as usual. Must say that Mahogany Bay was a delightful port. The beach is lovely and proximity to shopping & restaurants is a plus. All in all, we would cruise on the Glory again! Read Less

This is our third cruise on this class of Carnival ship. We love the size, but navigation is always a challenge. We were excited about this cruise because we think Carnival is FUN! We were not disappointed. The entertainment suits us, couples in our 40s and 50s. Some of our group enjoyed the large shows in the theater, while others preferred the Trivia in the Lobby with dancing. We all enjoyed the comedians. The age mix was pretty balanced among all ages for this cruise. We also did NOT see the stereotypical things people complain about Carnival for. I won't go into those things, because it was not our experience here. Our room steward, Carole, and dining staff, Joel, Abby and Bryan, were top notch. They couldn't have been more professional or friendly. We had a balcony room, 8236. It is forward. It was exactly as I expected. The bed was heaven. Love a balcony. The only Carnival excursion we took was to the Everglades/Airport transfer. We would recommend it. FOOD! Guy's Burgers are wonderful. Everyone in our group raved about them. We ran the gamete from Serious Burger Lover, to me, Eh Take Them Or Leave Them. Eat one early in your cruise, because you will want to go back. We ate in the Main Dining Room every night and always had delicious food and a wonderful experience. My companions rated the Ox Tongue Superb. Really. My complaint is the smoking in the Casino. There are no doors between the Casino and the rest of the areas, so the other areas get very smoky. I think doors would solve that problem. Read Less

Frankly we chose the cruise for price and date. We are in our 60's and didn't know what to expect. We didn't really fit in with the drinking, gambling, all night party atmosphere, but there were things we did enjoy. They had some entertainment was to our liking. The food and restaurants were very good. We LOVED the all you can eat soft serve ice cream. We tried the hot tubs in the adult only section of the boat and they were disappointingly lukewarm. It was nice to have that adults only section with hammock, special seating without littles running around. We were very glad we had shore excursions to look forward to. We booked our excursions outside of Carnival and quickly learned that preferential treatment is giving to those who booked with them. Meaning, when it was time to get off the ship, those booked with Carnival got off first and in a different area. You had communication and a personal guide all the way through the process. And if you had an excursion with Carnival, the ship would not leave until you were back on the ship. If you did your own thing, there was a chance that you would be left if you didn't get back.
