The cruise was a treat for myself, my wife and Son (21). It started off great with a gentle cruise out of Venice capturing the views of let’s face it, stunning architecture. With purchased the all inclusive drinks package. Again what we expected no hidden nightmares. Ship Dated and in a poor state of repair : toilets not up to scratch along with the public areas below spec Sun beds dirty with no comfy option. Again we are Diamond members - should be a free option for regular members. Trips : Appalling: overly expensive with little to no quality. Absolute rip off I honestly cannot point out one positive thing other than the guide they were terrible for such a fabulous itinerary. We have complained to RCI via feedback however yet again no response. The food was average to good, entertainment was plain shocking! If you like Butlins but at sea then RCI are beginning to become exactly that. We thought Carnival were bad however this is now our worst Cruise. Avoid ! Read Less

We are elite cruisers with Princess (have sailed on many ships) and booked two 7 day Alaska cruises from July 3 - July 17, 2019 on the Island Princess. This ship is sadly lacking in public amenities and the cabin was so small you couldn't escape to it either. There is no International Cafe, which on other Princess ships serves a menu of very fresh food for 24 hours a day. After 11 pm the only snack available is from Room Service with a limited menu of food which you have to eat in bed as the stateroom has no chairs to relax in. There is no Skywalkers Lounge for a panoramic view of the scenery. There is no Vista Lounge as Princess took lovely lounge space and converted it to revenue producing cabins. There is no Adagio Lounge for relaxing. All that is left is the Wheelhouse and Explorers which are just bars meant to sell liquor and are not convivial day venues. The atrium has no appeal since it is constantly noisy with martini shaking and various music programs and no International Cafe to give you a nice cup of tea and a sandwich. The fitness room and gym are stuck inside with no windows to enjoy the view. The fitness room is so small you cannot stretch because of the number of people on the floor. Stretch classes have been cut from 30 minutes to 20 minutes and 10 minutes of that is taking foot impressions to sell orthotics. You cannot walk all the way around the Promenade Deck as it is always blocked off. There is no jogging track. There is extremely limited deck space since the Horizon Court is at the bow of the ship and most ships have it aft with nice outside tables to enjoy the view out the rear of the ship. There is no aft pool which also affords a view on most ships. The Sanctuary is aft instead of amidship which cuts off the last opportunity to access the rear of the ship. We felt like prisoners on this ship, Stuck in limited public lounges with the Alaskan views only slightly visible through exceedingly dirty windows in the Horizon Court, the dining rooms and whatever few public areas remain. A fleet wide Princess problem is the lack of fresh food on their ships. Frozen fish is unacceptable on an expensive holiday with easy access to port reprovisioning. The only saving graces on this cruise were the entertainment and the staff. The entertainers were very good and on the second cruise we had 3 excellent production shows. The staff (other than Customer Service) were excellent. They are the biggest strength of Princess. Although we often cruise 2 or 3 times a year we are not in a hurry to book another cruise with Princess and will probably give Celebrity or RCCL another try. Read Less

We arrived at noon to embark and due to the volume of people, we had to make a line for emigration and it took us about an hour and a half to embark. Our first dining experience took place at the Venetian restaurant. We had a good experience due the service and food quality. After our lunch, we received an induction on the safety instructions which are mandatory by an international regulation. On the second day we went through a bad experience because we found bed bugs on both of our beds which we reported to customer service. Mr. Cardenas made immediate arrangements for the appropriate personnel to revise our room and we were moved to another room. Our luggage was taken by the staff as a percussion for laundry and steam cleaning for which we remained without our belongings until the following day. I suffered stomach flu with nausea and diarrhea during that night. I visited the medical center which prevented me from going to the excursion. The doctor ordered confinement with a special diet during 24 hours and I spent all Friday in my room. I wanted to watch TV all day and I discovered that there is a very limited channel selection which includes only one movie channel. I discovered that on the main menu of the TV there was an option for pay per view channels ($10.00) which in an air plane would easily be included on the fare. The lack of movie selection and the fact that I had to pay per view was frustrating and inconvenient. When my mother and her friend were able to go to the excursion that day and their experience was not the best because there was lack of guidance and they did not know where they had to take the bus to the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins. There was a lot of people and thy were going to different places so due to the lack of guidance it seem very confusing. We received the Freestyle Daily informational bulletin and we observed that some events are indicated as free but once you arrive, it is indicated that there is a cost to participate on them. We had the opportunity to visit the Garden Cafe, Venetian, Aqua and Bamboo which had variety and good service. The swimming pool was very small like a jacuzzi and there were so many people there that it was impossible to approach. The room service staff was friendly and professional as well as the waiters and buffet personnel and the customer service desk this made us feel well.We disembarked very early in the morning after breakfast and it was very organized. . First time cruiser excited about seeing Cozumel. I knew beforehand smoking was allowed in the bars and the casino, but I did not know the whole ship would smell like an bar! The lounges and casino do not have physical doors, The entry is wide open and the second-hand smoke travels throughout the ship. I will never go on another cruise unless it is non-smoking or doors and ventilation is installed. Also, there were so many drunk people even though it was not spring break time. I saw one college girl vomit onto a towel on the Serenity deck. The pool was very small and i would never take children on the cruise since there is such a drinking/partying atmosphere. I saw many, many women in the hallways and hamburger restaurant in only bikinis. Appropriate cover-ups were not enforced. The ship was clean and our dining room waiters Eric and Jorge were fantastic. It was hard to find your way around especially since the stairs are not labeled and you never knew which floor you were on. Floor level signs would have been a huge improvement. The onboard entertainment is what I would call cheesy. The bingo was $40 for three bingo cards and lasted less than 10 minutes of actual calling time. The website lists many restaurants, but in reality most of them were in the same cafeteria and each area was labeled as a separate restaurant. For example the ice cream machine was given a separate restaurant name. The coffee shop and sushi counter seemed to be tucked away in a small out of the way area and hard to find. The jewelry and pictures were pushed heavily. The pictures taken were displayed haphazardly and were moved around so much you could not keep up with your pictures to purchase. Read Less

We are not new to cruising as this was our 15th cruise but the first with Oceania. We were attracted to Oceania because of the French Polynesia itinerary as well as its reputation for good service and food. We absolutely loved the itinerary as well as the very good service by our cabin staff and butler as well as the food in the specialty restaurants. However, we found that the added costs were not compensated by our expectations for value. To begin, we were very disappointed by how we were received upon boarding as well as departing. Our experience with other cruise lines has been that we were greeted with a welcoming drink as well as food available. Likewise, upon departure, we have been provided with coffee and muffins/danish etc. None of this was available on the Marina. We arrived with 200+ people on our 8 hour overseas flight. There was no welcoming drink and by the time we checked in, all food services were shut down. One would think that a table of refreshments would have been provided by the ship. Similarly, upon departing at an early hour (5:40 am), that coffee and a muffin could also have been provided. This was neither a good first or last impression of the cruise. As part of our booking, we were provided with free unlimited internet access. This was a total joke since access was not available in most parts of the ship. Moreover, it was impossible to upload or download photos or documents. Finally, it was impossible to contact others via FaceTime or Skype. On all of our other cruises, this was never a problem, I then learned that for an added $15/day, I could upgrade to unlimited streaming. I did so. However, although I could sometimes (but not always) access FaceTime, I still could not upload photos or download documents. This was particularly concerning since I needed to be reached due to an ill family member. Needless to say, this caused considerable stress. I enjoy working out. The fitness center was tiny and the room for classes was even tinier. On a positive note, the fitness instructor, Diana was superb. She knew her stuff, was inspirational and very nice. There was a sign up sheet for classes which was done to limit the number of passengers attending. However, the fitness staff let in whoever showed up. As a result, there was often 20 passengers in a class that was listed for 12. This made the experience challenging and at times, unsafe. The Terrace Cafe had a limited variety of food. At times, I would have loved to have a scoop of tuna or egg salad. This was never available. Although a crew member was immediately available to serve us water, coffee or juice, anything else was simply unavailable. On three occasions I asked for sparkling water and never received it. The dining room was very pleasing. The staff was great. But the food was hit or miss. Some was excellent while others, just awful. The speciality restaurants were excellent. We especially enjoyed the Red Ginger. We found the cruise offered excursions outrageously priced. We only took one excursion from the ship - a one hour glass bottom boat right for $129/person. We enjoyed it but it was very overpriced. Alcohol prices were similarly overpriced. I didn't order one drink the entire time I was onboard - simply out of principle. The most outrageous cost was the airport to port & return transfer. Since we our flight arrived at 9:40 pm and left at 8:40 am and because we were unfamiliar with the services in Papaeete, we decided to take the transfers. Each one way transfer was $129/person. The ride was under 10 minutes. Worth of all, there were delays at each end. This was utterly ridiculous. From now, we'll stay with Celebrity our preferred cruise line. Read Less

Very poor entertainment, had a 10yr old with us that hated kids club (couldn’t blame her) same stuff on every night. The spa on the ship was appalling, still kicking myself for not walking out. Bar closed at midnight, nowhere else except room service to get a drink. Staff entertainment didn’t show up on numerous occasions. Was a complete waste of money, hated every moment of being on the ship. Luckily we managed to see some amazing places. Great thing was the room, always clean and tidy. Although they never topped up the mini bar. Found out towards the end that you had to ask and sign for anything after the first night. Plus only complimentary water on the first night! Just constantly felt like there was nothing to do, was definitely aimed at the older crowd. If you want to know how to get rid of fluid retention this is your ship *yawn* Read Less

First, This is a big boat. But it's mostly storage for all of the passengers. There are not enough amenities to host all of the passengers comfortably. Many times we found we had to wait in lines to be seated for food, for soda machines, ice cream machines, and (most annoyingly) elevators (all the time). We chose this cruise because it was a 'DreamWorks' cruise. We thought it would be like Disney with characters going around. Not so much. In fact, hardly at all. Over 7 days, we saw 4 characters. There were long lines for photos with the crew yelling at people to "get in line!" Not so much for the ambiance. For the kids - our children hated their child center on the 14th floor. Our 9-year old described activities more appropriate for 5 or 6-year-olds and requested to not return after 1 visit. Our 7 year old only went there twice and then didn't want to return. Total disappointment. The staff kept them in 1 room running around playing games for hours. It was like a big kid pre-school. The staff seemed totally totally disinterested. Our child literally said, "I hate this place" right in front of them and they didn't even acknowledge or ask the child why. The housekeeper constantly pressed us on our schedule for the day. We would tell her that we were not sure but we would leave the sign out when were we gone. She seemed annoyed and it became very uncomfortable after several days. We really love to hit the spa (steam rooms, etc.) on the ship. These were tiny rooms. Again, unless you hit the rooms on off-hours, they were very crowded. The staff, who had to open the thermal rooms, often seemed annoyed by having to do their job. The showers were cold and there was no privacy for changing. It was terrible. Did we mention that everything was very crowded? The pools on deck 15 are tiny and filled to capacity except on excursion days. The pools were falling apart. The hot tubs in the family areas were always packed. The ice cream machines were messy and not kept up. You can sign up for various drink packages but the soda machines are not plentiful on the ship. (Floor 5, 15, & 16). They were often out of order, no ice, and the drinks tasted like watered down soda water. You can ask at various bars for soda but the bartenders often seemed annoyed. Overall, not good. Dining - The food was quite good on the first day. However, as the cruise progressed, it became clear that the cooks were recycling left-overs and just changing the food a little bit to make a different dish. Needless to say, it got stale and gross pretty quick. The main restaurant poses as a fine dining establishment. Yet, they blare announcements, loud music, and have the audience "give it up!" for the entire cook/wait staff every night - they would go on and on for 10 or 15 minutes per interruption. We were interrupted during multiple conversations with the family. It totally interrupted nice meals and is very disruptive. Lines and crowding - please be advised that you should make reservations for most things on the cruise well in advance. Expect to stand in line and wait a lot. Again, the boat is bigger but the amenities are really not. The cruise as a whole is constantly trying to get you to spend more money. The experience felt like one upsell after another. The customer service was poor. We felt like they just wanted to process us to get to the next customer. Many seemed nice but quite a few were annoyed at having to help us. Finally, getting off this cruise is hell. Everyone is thrown into a huge warehouse and we had to all be processed through customs. It was so disorganized and stressful. Terrible, terrible experience. We were told that our 'disembark time' was 10:45 AM, then the room attendant told us (that morning) that we were supposed to have been out by 9:00 AM. There was nothing in the documentation saying that!! If you like spending your vacation at a hugely overcrowded, sticky, broken mall, then this cruise is for you. Read Less

The Ruby Princess has 4 dance areas, three are wooden floors and we thought we could find some decent music somewhere to dance to, but we were wrong. The food was good, but there were too many games(like Carnival) in the dance venues, so the floors were taken up with dumb stuff. We will definitely not do this cruise again. Embarkation in San Pedro was smooth, disembarkation was exceptionally smooth. Service was good, ship was beautiful. If you don’t dance and only want to eat good food, wander around and drink in the bars and not get too far from the west coast, you might like this cruise. I haven’t been on a 7 day cruise for a while(usually do over 20 day cruises), but my friends only wanted a short cruise. One couldn’t be gone longer and it was another’s first cruise. Maybe dumb games are played on all short cruises, but they were loud and everywhere! Read Less

The good points are cabin excellent and kept clean. Boarding was efficient and the terminal very clean. Most staff were hard working although if you're English speaking some didn't seem to understand unless basic requests at the table. Entertainment was good, especially the Tenor singer. Wasn't keen on the night the staff provided the entertainment, some were good others pretty mediocre, bit like BGT. The on board dance team were great, providing lessons as well. That we did enjoy. The bad points are: tips being compulsory and not being told upfront, probably in the small print which no-one reads, and not told on booking. Bottled water not included in the drink package, but tap water is ok. The food in the restaurant was poor. Some meals were just ok but mostly it was cold or tepid at best and I even suspect some was leftovers from the buffet, re invented. One particularly unappetising dish was the meat skewers. One piece of lamb or beef (couldn't tell), piece of a sausage and a piece of chicken, in bread crumbs and fried, served with a scoop of mash potato that was grey and lumpy. There was no sauce, so was very dry. We waited nearly half an hour for our starter one night also. Uninspiring desserts also, often something frozen. Better deserts in the buffet area. No gelato ice cream or pizza available unless you pay for it. I expected this at least on the menu as it's an Italian ship. They pick up and drop off at every port, meaning the muster drill is carried out every time and takes place in places where passengers are trying to enjoy themselves, like the Orlav Bar. We had to sit through it or move on. Lots of tannoy speeches in lots of languages, which one time interrupted the dancers who had to jog on the spot until it finished and then try to carry on. The quizzes were Italian based, e.g Italian cities and types of pasta, so unless you were Italian not much chance of winning. I know it's only fun but you like a chance at least. I used the spa and was given a dressing gown which I had to carry from there to my cabin each time, and if I didn't hand it in at the end of the cruise there would be a charge of 79 euros. Also for the pool towels left in our cabin. My husband used the gym, but one day loads of unsupervised children entered and just basically ran about and played on the gym equipment even though a sign said no-one under 16 allowed in there. There was potential for injury. The poor staff were continually pushing a lobster dish for a price, which became a bit tedious. We didn't do any of the shore excursions. So overall I would not choose Costa again. I have cruised with other lines so I do have something to compare it with. This was my 2nd Mediterranean cruise, the previous being with NCL which was a far superior experience. I could go on with more disappointment but I think enough said, I don't want it to become a novel. Read Less

Terrible slow service in the restaurant and a bad waiter. We had a pre-paid reservation for the same restaurant for another night but canceled due to our bad experience. Princess also needs to make sure that the beautiful pictures on the boat that shows the pictures of the food dishes should match what Is served to you. It is almost like night and day difference (have some look at the picture on display of the short ribs pasta dish and then go order it in the restaurant). You will be shocked. Also, our bathroom in our suite was dirty as there was mold on the shower grout walls. The shower curtain was stained yellow across the bottom. Also, the fitness center was truly the most disappointing fitness center I have ever seen on any cruise ship that we have been on. Stuck in a room with no windows and just staring at walls is unreal. How could you ever enjoy working out? Many comments from passengers on board said they would not work out because of the fitness center location. We have been on many cruises and will most likely not go on Princess again. Read Less

The shame of P&O's fleet, the Adonia, returns from dry dock transformed into the luxury, five star, country house hotel experience aka The Pursuit. What are the chances of that happening? What a load of old blether. The cabin was hideously dusty, the 'bathroom' cramped and badly designed, and the first time since the Heysham ferry I've hated the way a ship performed in slight 'weather'. This from someone who's felt perfectly fine going through a hurricane with 100ft waves in the QEII. Stick a funnel on a margarine tub and you get the picture. I feel thoroughly ripped off. Never having used Azamara before (we're itinerary driven cruisers) we asked other passengers was this the usual Azamara experience? All said a resounding 'no' and 'that the service was way below par'. We met a couple who'd been on the Adonia just before Azamara took her over and said there was little difference save a coat or two of paint! I accept this was only the second voyage for the ship but the crew really need better training. Having young officers openly mocking passengers whilst using the dining facilities is frankly appalling. On seeing an overweight disabled passenger one young officer shouted out 'I can see a whale' as the poor soul struggled past. Shame! Worse still the senior officer present didn't rebuke them. The Captain really has to take responsibility for this. I don't don't want a big 'happy family' of a crew I want a well-structured/disciplined professional framework of command and leave the jokes to the Cruise Director (who incidently was the best thing on the ship). Incidentally first time a ship's crew have tried to alter reality to cover their failings. Howsabout admitting fault, apologising, and try to do better? You will get caught out otherwise. I will never use Azamara again. Emperor's New Clothes Outfit. Read Less

I picked this cruise because I was going on vacation to Puerto Rico and thought it may be a good idea to catch a cruise from this port. Nothing but wrong. Very bad food, restaurants were closed right after boarding time from ports of destinations. Food is greasy and you end eating tons of pizza because there is nothing else after boarding the ship again after a long day in an island. Lines were the MUST to get anything you wanted (get in a restaurant, have pizza, take a photo session). Definitely do not recommend it at all. I travel with my family, young people and elders. Shows were average. The ship is big and has a great alley simulating a street. This is what a liked the most of it. They have inside cabins with windows to the inside "street" where all the cafes and stores are located. Feel like atmosphere needs improvement also. Read Less

The Getaway was over booked with kids and young families. The children dominated the ONE pool on the ship for the entire vacation. The children were rude, unsupervised by parents, screamed on the ship, and made the vacation for mature adult couples unpleasant. Several times during the day I had to call housekeeping about getting our room cleaned. This happened on a daily basis. The Internet service was slow, and at times not working. I did ask for a 1 day refund of the cost for Internet since it stopped working on that day. The customer relations refused my request. We had the full inclusive beverage package, but still had to pay over $43.00 for bottled water. Bottle water is not included in the inclusive beverage package, which I was never told. The cardio fitness room was small with several broken machines. All excursions were fun, except the Sight Seeing with Limited Mobility in Roatan. Stay away from this excursion. The transportation was old, not designed for adults with mobility issues, and the sights were not worth your time and money. I am going back to Royal Caribbean - Oasis of the Seas since I know the fabulous quality and service on this ship. Read Less

This was a Mediterranean cruise . It was no entertainment on deck in the evening. It was no fitness or other outdoor activities like the previous Celebrity cruise. It was a lack of service and amenities. It was also a big disappointment in food quality and diversity . Food that we enjoyed at the buffet in the past now we had to go to special restaurants and pay extra. We just returned from our cruise on the Bliss for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. This trip had been planned for almost a year and all of us were looking forward to the cruise but were getting nervous after reading numerous reviews before going. We had 7 adults and 4 children with us (ages 6-10). The boarding process went very smooth I think we were on the ship within less than 30 minutes, but once we boarded that's when the chaos started. Once on the ship we went straight to reservations for the go carts and the lazer tag, four of us were in different lines trying to make reservations. This took about an hour and half to get tot the front just to be told that everything was booked. We did actually get reservations for both by complaining throughout the cruise but both attractions weren't even really worth it. But, if you or your kids really want to take advantage of the go carts my sister heard someone talking about a week long unlimited pass for $99, not sure it you would just wait standby to use the pass. I felt like you could probably just wait by the line whenever you want and get on. If you like the idea of waterslides think again. The slides are only open a few hours of the day and they only have two of them. One of the slides is a drop slide that they won't even let you go on unless you are over 100lb, which left our kids to only be able to use the one slide. The hours of the slide are a joke, I think it was open from 11:30 - 2;30 and again for another hour or so. It was hard to see them close the slide on a beautiful day with nothing else to really do on the ship. If you are taking kids I would really think twice there is very little for kids to do on this ship. They do have an arcade but the games are anywhere from $2 - $5 each. This ship is constantly trying to nickel and dime you for everything. As for the food it was pretty lousy even the bigger restaurants. We did go to the Manhattan Room, Savor, and Taste and they all have the same menu, I guess they just try to make them look different. The buffet is not very good just okay. We finally broke down and went to the steak house on the last night and they told us they were full but would squeeze us in, the place was empty. The food was okay nothing crazy, but not worth the $300 we had to spend. LIke I said earlier there really isn't a lot to do on the ship. The highlight of the trip was the "Jersey Boys" show, Havannah wasn't very good. But really, only two shows for a seven night cruise! Also, the drinks were excellent! I highly recommend the drink package, pretty much all we did was drink since there wasn't much else to do. And yes the elevators are horrible, stick to the stairs. I hope this helps some of you guys I could write all night about this cruise but I'm tired. And just remember this cruise is a good chunk of change for most of us that is why I took the time to right this, there are many other ships out there with a lot more to do than the Bliss. Unless you don't want to do anything but sleep and eat, and spend as little time in the ports as possible this is the cruise for you. Good Luck Read Less

First off, the staff was great. Everyone I met was fantastic. That was the best thing going for Norwegian. However, the food was most disappointing. Food items such as the corn on the cob was chewy, fish / meats were over cooked, potatoes were dry & even deserts were unbearably sweet. I also didn't like that a lot of the places were a separate charge. I came on a cruise to not worry about charges not take on more. It's really annoying to have to ask if everything is charged. Also, I have been on Carnival & Royal Carribean (RC) so I was comparing Norwegian to them. Carnival is a cheap cruise so you get what you pay for but I thought their ship had much more livelier parties and events. It seems the events only catered to a small group (10 people or less) while the rest of the group just watched = not engaging. RC's food was the best. I had breakfast, lunch, & dinner and was completely satisfied every meal. The staff were friendly and we had the same people so they knew us well. I appreciate the flexibility of going to dinner at any time but there is no connection with the waitstaff. That equates to better service for the guests and better tips for the staff. Also, the ship didn't have as many ammenties as RC. I remember 2 large pools onboard so if one was packed then we can go to the other. Housekeeping staff needs work. I never saw my staff and they would clean at weird times and I only got 2 towel animals out of 7 days. I don't really care about the animals but if you are going to do it, do it right. There were some events but not as many as I would have liked. The shows were good but need more of them. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the Pride of America. I really enjoyed Hawaii but if I could do the same cruise, I would probably do it with another cruise-liner. Spent three days in Vancouver prior to the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare, long queues. Carried our own bags when leaving therefore disembarkation went smoothly. The ship is tired looking, cabin was clean although the curtains, bed valance were torn. Bathroom had a musty smell which was sorted by our cleaner. Dining room was fine, great service and food was ok, ate here for breakfast and evening meal. The OceanView was a nightmare, queues, no room to eat, tables were not vacated and not asked to move even though there were signs. People were having to eat standing up. On the plus side, the cleaning and dining room staff were excellent. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, enjoyed the lectures. Port excursions were ok, I found all three ports very similar and boring. Enjoyed Hubbard glacier very much. In my opinion the company is only interested in taking as much money off passengers as everything seemed to cost extra I will not cruise with Celebrity again. We were so disappointed when we learned ( after we boarded) we had to book all on board shows ahead of time.- we didn't get the full experience of the cruise. When I called RC, they wanted to help me book excursions, but they never said--{hey can we help you book your shows on board). When you are on vacation, you hope you have some flexibility in your schedule---That is what VACATION is all about. Everything was extra, no room service without a cost. The formal dining was awful, what happened to the waiters that were all about service . . That was not how it used to be. The buffet was good! Compared to years past, the food in the main dining rooms was so below average. What a disappointment for the money---no more cruising with you for us.. We have been cruising with you since 1991--the quality has dropped so much yet the prices keep going up. We sailed from Ft Lauderdale 5/26/18 with 8 of us in total, 3 of which have never cruised. Royal Caribbean was always our go to cruise line, but no more. We will be looking for a cruise line that meets our needs and is upfront about the costs.. Read Less

For our 30th anniversary and we have never been on a Royal Caribbean cruise but we have heard how great they were. The room was very small and it was a balcony. The steward was excellent . The main dining room is good and the service was excellent but they should have a better menu selection. The buffet was good but very crowded . I like how they find a table for you but the menu was only ok. The recreation activities were excellent with no crowds. The 150 Central Park restaurant was excellent but the other fancy restaurants are too expensive because they have fees + a la cart options . The shows were all disjointed and made no sense. They do have some very talented performers but not good story lines. The fitness and spa area was over priced and there fitness staff is unqualified but that is the same on all cruise lines. They promote alcohol way too much and shopping is too much also. The cruise director was very low energy and boring. We had issues with our excursions because my wife was sick and customer did nothing to try and fix it. Labadee Haiti was beautiful and I will go back. The ship is huge but very easy to navigate. I liked the art auctions and the ship was beautiful. Embarkation was horrible it took 2 hours to board and we were early. Even though we had issues I will go back. Read Less

When you read everything about the tours it is not accurate. They say no steps, but they do not tell you that it is uneven ground and steep inclines. All the pools were 5 feet or more. So you could not walk in water or exercise. Pool chairs were reserved with no one using them for hours And to charge for the one pool. Come on The guest service desk was very unfriendly and was not there to help and we had to go back many times to get things correct, The internet was fault advertising in the price. The staff did not explain the charges until you got the bill and saw the price was doubled. We were told we needed to have our bags outside our door by 11 pm on the last day and they came around at 10. Communications with passengers was very poor. We will not use Princess again because of this cruise Read Less

The bad 2 broken hot tubs, Broken ice cream machine, unwashed windows, and rust abounding on the exterior of the ship. Now the Ugly I dropped my children off at the teen center on the ship for a "in room scavenger hunt" as described in the teen flyer. I come to find out it was a all over the ship scavenger hunt how easy at 10 pm. at night would it be for teen to be abducted and raped and thrown overboard? Brought the issue to guest services it was never addressed!!!!!!! More ugly RC claimed a port of call at coco cay which I hear from others frequently is cancelled so they flat out lied and offered no other port of call. Last of the ugly Shore excursions were great but very short not a good value. Read Less

I signed up for a Holistic cruise Feb 15th 2018. I have been on 12 other cruise lines and figured that this ship could not be that bad if 2000 people were attending this special Holistic cruise. Ha, people really need to speak up.MSC sent us a review survey which would not go the the next page so I was unable to complete it and I gave up. So here is my thought on this cruise line and why I will never sail with them again. I was unable to complete the survey as it will not go to the next page when you are in the page "which areas have the most impacted positively and negatively on your MSC cruise experience. When I select next it just goes to the top of the page. As a Canadian I had a lot of difficulty when trying to register, before the cruise departure, for your MSC club and gave up. I believe it's a glitch in the address that prevented me from doing it. I then called and the girl could no help me. So since I can't finish the online survey, here is my opinion. We felt like cattle every time we went to eat. The vegan buffet opened at 7:30 am which is much too late as well as lunch time should opened a 1/2 hour earlier. It was always very crowded around the buffet and it made it hard to walk. People wait in line for one item. Maybe split up the stations so people go to what they want to eat directly without waiting in line and passing in front of food they never had any interest in. The staff at embarkation and disembarkation for the daily stops were very rude, never smiled, never said have a nice day. the same with the staff on the outside of the ship. They need to remember this is a service industry and if you are not happy then go work somewhere else as the cruise customers pay your salary. I've done 12 cruises with 4, 5 & 6 star ships and have never had such poor attitude. I believe had the staff been friendlier my experience, comments and rating would have been better. The buffet staff and were also rude with attitude. Never said please and spoke to you as if you were bothering them. We were told by someone that they were angry at the Holistic cruise crowd and that is why they were rude with us. The occasional staff was nice and friendly but they were few. This is what allot of people talked about. The buffet was ALWAYS running out of utensils, and trays of food and it took too long to replace the tray, often 10 minutes at which point you just say, never mind. It's a beautiful ship, too bad the staff could not be pleasant. I encountered a problem at the Villa Rosa where I went at 7:45 am, expecting to be seated right away. I told the hostess that I was waiting for my party and we would be 4 altogether but I was arriving from the gym earlier and need to sit down since I was getting a very bad headache. She just nodded and made me wait. After a couple of minutes I asked her why other people were being seated and I wasn't, she replied that their party was complete and I had to wait. I explained that I wanted to sit now and she finally asked someone to sit me down. At this point I had to get aggravated again just to get water. REALLY! the food service was also bad but I won't even go there. There were so many instances and I know I won't come back. We went on the Holistic cruise for the lectures so that was great but to just go on a vacation on this cruise line, I can get much better treatment and value and appreciation for my choice on another cruise line. The people who thought it was great had never been on a cruise line or only on this one trip. Many experienced travelers were not impressed. The elevators were slow. As for my husband and I, this is purely a reflection of management. Nikki Read Less

Embarkation was amazingly easy. disembarkation was a mess. They said only one customs agent showed up and they had "no control", REALLY? We were over an hour late, leaving us standing it line. The Balcony room was wonderful and Michael, our steward, was exceptional. Dining was acceptable, once we got into the dining room. Once again, the organization of moving into the dining room seemed nonexistent. The first and third night we waited over an hour in a line that snake around the entire 3rd floor atrium. It was open dining, but if there wasn't enough room in the one dining room, perhaps they could have sent people to the other dining room. The food arrived warm and was generally good.. However, they served a seafood pasta, which was brought to the table with unopened mussels... really??!!?? No one should ever eat a clam or mussel that does not open after being cooked. The staff was exceptional. They all seemed happy and genuinely pleased to be of assistance, which I found amazing for people who are away from home for months at a time and work long hours. It was refreshing to find people striving to provide good service. This was true everywhere on the ship with the exception of the Casino. The staff there were totally uncaring. I was a good customer, tipping on top of the imposed tip. And within a few days I was to receive free drinks. I would go to the bar when I could not find a staff to help and sometimes the bartender would give me a drink and other times I was told to talk to the staff who delivered drinks. I asked a young man to bring my daughter and I each a drink. He brought one and never returned. I waited forty minutes went back to the bar and was again told to talk to the waitress. So, I went to a waitress and ordered a scotch with a side of water. She came after another hour and brought me a bourbon. I told her she brought the wrong drink and she asked if I wanted it. I told her to leave it and bring me a coke. I waited 1.5 hours, she never came back. Then the young man showed up... 2.5 hours later and asked if I wanted the club soda he forgot to bring the first time!!!! I told him no, but I would love a coke. He did manage to bring that within 20 minutes. Through this experience I never showed my frustration, I was extremely polite because I felt their inability to.provide service was most likely a management issue. On Feb 9th, the music was so loud and pounding I left with a headache after 20 minutes. Other people were complaining and they would turn it down a little and then work the sound level up within a couple minutes, totally disrespecting customers desires. The entertainment was interesting. The smaller group activities seemed good, but the stage performances were similar to the casino music on the 9th. At sometime the performers must have been told that being loud made up for quality. Actually, the performers seemed to have fairly good voices, but the music was so loud it was overwhelming and made it difficult to hear the singing. It was the same group every night.with the lead doing the vast majority of the songs. He could have shared the limelight. The comedy acts were generally really good and enjoyable. Patrick, in the piano bar was excellent to get the crowd participation. I was worried that he would pass out from the amount he was drinking. Drinking was part of his act. We only went on one excursion in Cozumal and it was wonderful.. Everything about it, including the guide, Diego. We went to see and interact with the Dolphins. It was a perfect day. The spa was perhaps my biggest disappointment. Not the massages. They were perfect. But my daughter and I joined the Spa that allowed us to use the steam rooms, saunas, and the Therapy Spa. That was the disappointing part. The first day I let them know that the Aroma Room had no aroma, no Eucalyptus or Lemon, which was one of the main reasons I joined. By the third day other customers were talking about it. I went again to the desk and was told they had run out...?? The same was true of the Therapy pool. It was to have Salt water and special minerals, this was the second reason I sign up and paid $300 for the experience for my daughter and myself. The whirlpools on the decks at least had salt water!!! Also, there were no minerals, you can smell and taste the minerals, just as you do the salt in the water. I also noted there was no chlorine and I got an infection which I believe was caused from the untreated spa. Last September, when we went on a Carnival cruise they asked us to complete a survey. They didn't this time. Maybe they didn't want to know. I had planned to do cruises every 3 months, but I have decided that this may be my last cruise. Read Less

Chose this to escape winter. The weather cooperated and the sun was great. This was a really relaxing cruise. Entertainment on board was great. Especially the skating show and the Elton John Tribute. Great music. Would love to see more of this era of music. Lots of available chairs on deck 4. Great cruise director, Topi. Windjammer offered good variety and service was excellent. Missed Game of Bridge, only one puzzle available which was missing pieces. Library was very sparse. No knitting/ needlework group on board. Lots of maintenance being done on deck 4. Interrupted our daily walking routine. Two aft elevators out of commission. Really slowed things down especially going to deck 14 to Diamond Lounge. Only downer is the decrease in benefits and no recognition reaching 630 points. Did not receive welcome on board gift. Had to request twice. No treats on formal night in the rooms. Miss being special. Read Less
