Learn how the Cayman Islanders brew their beer, from fermentation to bottling and distribution, on an educational tour of the brewery.

Very enjoyable tour - we went to the Cayman Islands brewery and two rum factories. At the brewery, they give you up to 6 samples and their beer is really good! They make a Guinness-like stout that I loved. At the first rum factory we stopped at, the Mango rum was wonderful and they also sold rum cakes. The second rum factory was pricier than the first so I was glad I had bought at the first one! I would recommend this excursion if you like beer and rum and want to see some of the island. Read Less

. In Grand Cayman we signed up for a “Rum, Beer, and Beach Tour” via an ad on Trip Advisor. We had some confusion because the tour began at 1, but we were to stay on ship’s time, which made it 2. And all aboard was 5 pm. It got even worse when the guide and driver were late picking us up for the tour. There was our party of four and another large party of about 10 on the bus. First stop was the rum distillery where we had a tour and got to “sample” quite a few flavors/types of rum. There goal was obviously to get everyone tipsy and they were successful. There was music, dancing, it was fun. From there, I though things were going to deteriorate quickly. The advertised second stop was a brewery. The guys I was with are beer drinkers and were looking forward to that. We were told that we weren’t going to be making that stop, but instead would be going to the Tortuga rum cake place, followed by a local restaurant to taste local cuisine. Huh? This wasn’t what we signed up for? The other larger group was unhappy because they were anxious to get to the beach portion of the day. We really didn’t care about the beach portion, we wanted the brewery. So a compromise was struck and after a BRIEF stop at the rum cake factory, the other group was dropped off at a beach, and our group of four went with the driver and the guide to a local restaurant – off the main grid and obviously frequented by locals. I believe it was called Champions? Anyway – they provided beer, local food including conch, other seafoods, beef, flan, etc. We really enjoyed the time spent with the guide and driver and it turned out to be a fun and different way to spend the rest of the afternoon. We’re quite convinced that those who chose the beach chose badly. Read Less

We did the cayman brew tour. Sampled as much beer as we wanted. Then we we to the rum distillary and sampled as much of that too. Both were educational and fun with a group.

Brewery, Distillery, Rum cakes, and Beach break booked through Viator. The tour company Amvivo was awesome. I made an error when booking and didn't consider that island time would be different from our ship time, so we wouldn't return from the tour in time to catch the last tender. I called Amvivo in the morning when I arrived in port and realized my miscalculation and they were super nice and offered suggestions on how we could still make it work. We ended up cutting the beach break a little short and paying an extra $5 to get a cab back to the port, but it was still am awesome tour and we had just enough time to hop into the ocean to cool off and take some pictures of the gorgeous beach. I believe Jamar was our tour guide and he was the best! Read Less

"Taste of Cayman" tour stopped at C.I. Brewery, Tortuga Rum Cakes and Cayman Spirits Distillery. A couple of beers at the brewery but lots of rum shots at the distillery. Tours of brewery and distillery were interesting and fairly short (these are both small operations). If you're in a large party, make sure you're on the same bus because they won't all go at the same time ... which is good because two busloads of people at any of the places makes it far too crowded. The only good part of this excursion was visiting the rum distillery. I'm not a beer fan but everyone enjoyed the unlimited tastings, for about 15 minutes. Then a quick walk through and back to where you can buy beer. The rum factory was a joke. It is not a factory at all, rather a gift shop that serves run cakes. The rum distillery was awesome. Excellent tasting of all the products, a great story about 7 Fathoms rum, the tour was clean and our guide was knowledgeable. This saved the tour for me. If you are into beer than you will enjoy both parts. Read Less

The best of all the ports! We did the brewery tasting and Rum tasting which was nice. It was such a nice day though I wish we had done the sting ray excursion. However we still enjoyed ourselves, and our van driver John was awesome at informing us about the island and answering all our questions. We learned so much from him! Then after he dropped people off he took a few of us down the street to a great local restaurant and then took another couple to the 7 mile beach. We tipped him a little xtra. Great restaurant called Da Fish Shack. You can walk to it from the port probably about 10 mins.A lot of people complained about the tendering on and off the ship. We didn’t have a problem. Because of the tour we got assigned a time which was nice. We we’re a little late getting in to grand caymen and it took an extra 45 mins to let us board the little boats but it was smooth sailing after that. We headed back to the tenders around 2:30 and the line was pretty long but it moved fast. The ship wasn’t far away at all. AND no one was trying to sell you something, its actually against the law there to walk up to people and try to get you to buy something. Read Less

We booked the Discount Excursions "Party Bus" tour with a group from Cruise Critic. We had about 14 people on our tour, a nice small group. We visited the Seven Fathoms Rum Factory and the Caybrew beer brewery before driving out to the east end of the island. Both stops were generous with the samples and everything we tasted was quite good! At the east end, we had a short break for a rum punch and swimming before heading back to town. Since most excursions take you to Seven Mile beach and the north end of the island, I found this to be a unique and refreshingly different tour. Read Less

It was interesting, but not as good as the brewery. Stop #3 was at a Rum Distillery. We were particularly interested in the 7 Fathoms Rum because they actually let it age at the bottom of the ocean.
