We sailed with another couple all in our early 50s ,we are Elite and Diamond Plus members . Celebrity Cruise Line is our absolute favorite line. Pros: 1)Check in was speedy quick and we were able to drop bags off in our cabins immediately. 2) Staff was excellent across the board. 3) Food was always good at every venue. CONS: 1) Infinite Balcony is an Oceanview cabin - nothing more! Don’t waste your money. 2) The closet now has a dresser in it so there is no room to hang any clothing. 3) EDEN??? What a sad waste of space. The Wizard of Oz meets Cirque du Soleil. This is a cheesy room filled with cheap college dorm styled furniture . 4) There are really only 2 places to have a cocktail in the evening,The Grand Atrium or Eden and both were always filled to capacity with people playing cards due to lack of activities. 5.) Public rooms are dark and dreary due to low ceilings and lack of windows. 6) Celebrity is clearly looking for first time cruisers as they no longer post Starboard or Port when you get off the elevator, they now post odd or even. Don’t want those new sailors to be bothered with nautical terms! 7) Sky Lounge is gone - Ensemble Lounge is gone. Ice Martini Bar is gone. I could keep going but to summarize- I would not book this ship ever again. EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL ABOUT SOLSTICE CLASS WAS STRIPPED BARE. Read Less

We have a 6-year old granddaughter & thought this would be a great cruise to take with her. However, it turned out to be not so great. The internet is awful, extremely expensive even if all you need to do is to send a short (all word) e-mail to keep our granddaughter's Mom informed about a stomach issue she had. We took an excursion that cost us over $300 for the 3 of us that would not let us take pictures & then wanted $200 for 6 pictures. When we complained to Disney, they said they had known about this issue for years and yet had not done anything about it. The swimming pool is so small that you can barely stand up in it much less swim. Our granddaughter loves to swim so she was disppointed. The last day at sea was a Star Wars Day and Disney meant it. There was absolutely nothing to do on the ship if you were not into Star Wars. Not a movie, nothing!! The entertainment on the ship was exactly the same entertainment we had last year on the Magic. Surely there are other entertainers that would come on the ship. The food was always lukewarm. Because our granddaughter had to see the doctor on the ship, we missed our evening meal time so we went to Cabanas. At Cabanas (no reservations taken) we were told that the three open tables were being reserved for people who had called ahead. Isn't that a reservation? So we would not miss the evening show, we went to Flo's where they were out of pizza and had two choices of food items. Again, a very disappointing situation at Disney. We will not be going on another Disney cruise. The characters never showed up at a single meal as they did on the Wonder last year. Obviously the Fantasy does not care about providing an exception "Family Cruise". Actually, the one good thing about the ship was the two doctors we saw on the ship. They were fantastic. Never again on Disney. Read Less

This is our 5 th cruise and by far most disappointing one! Food options that you don’t have to pay for are very limited and the almost the same every day. Salad bar is basically non existent. Breakfast doesn’t start until 7, so if you are a early morning person you have to wait forever to eat. The entertainment was no where near as good as any of our previous cruises. And it they scheduled everything around the same times. So you spend all day with nothing to do unless you want to pay $12.95 to watch a movie in the imax theatre. This is the only cruise we have been on that you don’t have to be early for the entertainment. You can show up 10 min late and still get a great seat. I could go on and on but don’t I don’t want to rant. We will never cruise with carnival again! Very disappointed! Read Less

We picked this cruise as we were celebrating our 20 year anniversary. This particular cruise included our very favorite islands, as it's probably the main reason why we chose this one. We have cruised with many different lines and never tried NCL - we thought it would be a great experience with one of their newest ships. Sadly, we were wrong! Our room was a spa room - typically on ships these are away from noise and near the spa. Not on the Bliss. I kept hearing constant noises above our room. Come to find out the workout room was directly above us. My husband walked the steps and sure enough it was the weights people were lifting and dropping. Over a SPA ROOM. We brought this to the front desk multiple times and were brushed off. The ship is very much designed for Alaska with many beautiful inside areas. Not so much if you're cruising the Caribbean and want to be outside. Pool chairs anywhere are limited. We went to the front desk and inquired and we were told about Vibe - the weekly passes were gone, but a cabana was open for $359. We decided to go for it to have a place to stay and not worry about people reserving chairs at 7a - only to come back and use for 30 minutes later. We made it up to Vibe - wonderful area and staff. Only to find out that the hot tub had been taken over by a loud crude group. Playing music on their personal speakers and ignoring the sign hanging - Quiet Area. The hot tub sits in front of the start of the 6 cabanas, so it was not really relaxing. We brought this up to front desk and they didn't seem to care. The free drinks are a joke. 2-3 bartenders per bar with many people waiting to get a drink. Not many bar staff members in areas such as pool or casino to order drinks from. Food was below average. It was difficult to follow the limited hours of the free places - for example on sea days the sit down dining rooms closed at 9:30a. Most people are on vacation and not setting early alarms to eat. Restaurants were ok - Le Bistro, Japanese, and Steak place were the ones we tried. Japanese was by far the best! Staff was rude and left really bad impressions. The spa and Vibe were the exceptions. Think again before you book on this ship! Read Less

Never again will we spend our hard earned vacation time/dollars with this cruiseline! Let me start by saying we booked an Aurea package with a balcony stateroom with a jacuzzi. This was not cheap by any means. We also had a dedicated solarium with sundeck and 2 hot tubs where we saw children in the hot tub in diapers, but there is no pool in the dedicated area. I question what I actually paid for with Aurea "experience". The ship is pretty, and room is nice. The food is the quality of Golden Corral, and for we Americans we expect much better when we cruise. The buffet was the same every day.Dinner in the dining room menu changes, but the food is terrible. For instance; Italian night the red sauce was resembling Campbell's canned tomato soup, flavorless! Shame on an Italian cruise line! Our prepaid beverage packages (premium) and wifi package was not reflected on our account, yet another thing we had to argue over and provide proof I paid. Which I might add, is a PAIN when you can't access wifi! If you want to work out in the gym, get there by 6am. The common areas for amenities are not adequate for 5400 passengers, pools, gym, bars. The times alotted in ports were poorly planned. 1st stop San Juan 5pm on MLK day, every thing is closed! Next stop, St. Thomas longer stop can't complain, 3rd stop St Maarten why bother till you get out with more than 5400 passengers the day is shot, and then there is Nassau long enough day unfortunately for us is was raining. While I am severely disappointed, weather is not their fault. My summary is as follows: MSC is improperly staffed for the amount of passengers. Staff & management don't care to assist in making things right, and are highly skilled at making excuses. The activities are geared toward shopping mostly, the food is not good quality, entertainment is lackluster. If you want to shop and sleep then maybe this is for you. If you actually want a fun Caribbean cruise that makes you feel like you're in the tropics try RC or NCL. Heck even Carnival, not my favorite but better than MSC! Read Less

I was highly dissatisfied by this cruise. I will never sail with nor recommend Norwegian again. The people on the ship were less than helpful and seemed to be miserable working there. The food was disgusting even in the dinner venues. I could have paid extra to go to a specialty restaurant but shouldn’t be forced to by the less than great food in the included choices. The shore excursion folks had absolutely no knowledge on the excursions I had questions about. Not sure why they were even there. I could have just booked on the app. Stabilizers were broken making for an uneasy experience. I have never been sea sick before and still 5 days after being home feel like I am rocking with a queasy feeling. Cruise director was nearly absent the entire cruise. Other cruises keep you updated on the days events and where to go and when to get off the ship at ports. This was not the case on this cruise. The only thing good I can say is that the ports of call were amazing! Read Less

The ship it's self was just OK. We had a balcony cabin that was smaller than other lines we've used. There were no noise restrictions and people above us on their cell phones at 3AM on their balcony. When we complained to the front desk it was like talking to a wall. I'm not a drinker but my wife is. When we wanted to purchase one deluxe drink package and one pop package we were not allowed to. We were told that we both had to purchase only the deluxe package. Sorry but I'm not ever going to pay $495.00 for one or two Coke's per day. That won't happen. We went to the dining room meal only once and we were so rushed through our meal that we couldn't enjoy it. We then started to go to the Windjammer but that wasn't a good experience either. The room closed at 9PM sharp. That's great but their shows start at 7pm and ran until 8:45 or 9PM. Other of their on board restaurants advertised that they were open till 9PM but really were closing down at 7PM. On the last Saturday we went down to the Windjammer at 6:30 only to be told it was closed because of the Jewish Sabbath and they had paid to have a private dinner there. We were told we could go to eat pizza up on deck 5. Bad move, really bad move. Entering and leaving the ship was good and well organized. The staff to traveler ratio was small. Often my wife spent more than an hour waiting for a drink staff to come by. We didn't buy the drink package and saved a ton of $'s. We aren't penny pinchers but their prices for bar drinks is high compared to other cruise line. It was really obvious that Royal is all about the bucks and not about the customer experience. We're going back to Norwegian and Holland America. Good Bye Royal! Read Less

We along with 4 of our friends decided to try the Oasis of the Seas. We just happened to pick the week at the Nora Virus. Our trip was completely changed and not for the better because of the Nora Virus. There are so many things to list that I won't remember them all but let me say that the staff was so tired from all of their hard work cleaning the ship that they were either non-existent in helping you or could not muster up a smile or be friendly. We could touch nothing. Food lines were extremely long, no salt/pepper, creamer, butter, sugar left on the tables and everything had to be put on your plate after you asked for it. You could not get your own food, plates, napkins, utensils, drinks. Only 2 bartenders asked me on a 7 day cruise did I want a drink while laying out. The walls an handrails were sopping wet all week due to them cleaning them over and over. The smell of the cleaning product int the hallways was awful. Not much change in the menu from night to night. No shampoo in my room in the dispenser the first morning (didn't figure out until all ready in the shower). Called guest services... 20 minute wait. Ordered room service 2 mornings, both mornings, coffee was left off by mistake. The direct line on the phone to room service did not work the whole time. Mold in the bathroom shower. Towels were taken off the floor and put back on the rack folded. Towels were ripped. Cleaning products residue was left all over our bathroom mirrors, tv and walls. Told taxi in St. Thomas and St. Maarten were less than what they actually were. Shows and events were cancelled without telling us as the Compass was misprinted. There is no doubt in my mind that the staff was overworked and tired. I was tired for them but we paid a lot of money for this trip and it was VERY disappointing. I will say our room steward was very helpful answering questions as well as our dining waiters. We finally met a bartender on night 5 that was friendly and helpful. Other than that, it was a complete let down. The ship is gorgeous but way too many people trying to go to many activities. If you didn't get to a lounge at least 45 minutes ahead of the activity, you did not get a seat. It was like this every night from trivia to karaoke to dancing. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Read Less

New ship, and I booked two different cabins to get to a feel of the new ship. Very disappointed with all the changes that have been made with this new ship. There are so many things missing that have always been on the Solstice class ships like the big grand foyer that goes up 7 or 8 floors. No library, card room, info sheet on embarkation about the top staff like the Captain, cruise director, etc.No Sudoku. crossword puzzles, daily news paper with many different languages. No sky lounge, no reclining chairs on the balconies. We had a sunset veranda for our 2nd week and had a big balcony but only had very small chairs and a small low table, like in the infinite balcony which are way too small and not usable. Theater is too small, and the acoustics are terrible. The entertainment was terrible. Yes, the production people are very talented, however we don't want production shows 10 out of our 14 nights. Comedians are cheap, get some good entertainment like X used to have years ago. The singer sounded like she was shouting, not singing. You had a winner with the Solstice, Stick with it. Read Less

I chose this due to timing with my children being off of college & the ports we would see w/ great weather. Everything pre-cruise was a nightmare trying to contact anyone. I had over 9 hours of hold time and no call backs & the supervisor did not help. Could not get dinner or show reservations I had previously booked. My kids got stuck on the “awesome water slide” & has to wait in a hatch until they were let out (they weigh almost 150# & should be able to make the turn), the race track is slow and costs $9 for 4 laps. The kiosks did not work to book shows on a “new” ship and you had to wait in long “guest service “ lines. There are no chairs available at the pool. The staff were not very friendly. We got sick on oysters at the steak restaurant. No one seems to care at all about our experience. I tried to contact nick but it says that page took a permanent vacation after I was again on hold for over 30 minutes to get that site info! Beware of ncl! The “freestyle “ allows you to hold up reservations & not show w/no consequences while leaving empty seats for food enters. Terrible program! Read Less

MOLD in the cabin bathroom, poor quality and improperly prepared food in the Dining Room and Buffet, filthy floors and tables in dining areas, Dining Room servers unable to set a table properly and generally unresponsive to guest requests, a "Drinks On Us" package that did not include some of the most basic drinks and mixes and required guests to pay a 15% gratuity on each drink over and above the gratuity paid for each day - a gratuity that several bartenders told us they never saw. Something that tasted like Tang being used as Orange Juice in Screwdrivers, running out of Club Soda before the final two days at sea and then trying to substitute bottled water, not having enough servers so they could offer and get mixed drinks in the Dining Room, not to mention their inability to even keep water glasses refilled. A Balcony Cabin where if you sat in a chair on the balcony you could not see the water since it has a metal wall instead of glass - CLEARLY should be advertised as Obstructed View. Common area Restrooms that are few and far between compared to other ships we have been in, and which are not cleaned often enough. Read Less

This is the worst cruise I have ever taken. Our experience started as soon as we entered our stateroom Mold all over shower Toilet brush holder was full of dirty water with human waste floating The previous cruise the women had her monthly friend and left rements of her cycle on the floor. It took them 1.5 days to fix this. I had one person just shake his head and his response was thank you for your suggestion. I almost blow a gasket I went down next day and had a manager come to the room and show him. The sent us a cheap bottle of champagne with chocolate covered strawberries that were not ripe. The buffet was great for breakfast but was the same menu for 7 days lunch was the same except for the carving station changed and the pasta dish. The main dining room was horrible. Food was worse then Denny’s The crew would come out and sit in smoking area, occupying seats and not even offer them to passengers. Ports of call were to short so u really couldn’t enjoy the islands San Juan 5:30 pm til 1:00 am I would rather go on a raft then go on this ship. Read Less

Did this cruise with a group of 26 people. While the ship was overall beautiful and the food and drinks were great, the price was way too high for what you got. We got the unlimited drink package and the 4 night specialty dining option. While the food and drinks were amazing, the service in 2 of the main dining halls (The Manhattan Room and Taste) were terrible. Took over 2 hours just to get our food and we were seated right when they opened. If you didn't book a reservation for any of the other specialty restaurants or the 3 main dinning halls when you first got on and had to be right when they start boarding, you had to wait to eat a nice dinner at almost 8-9 pm or go eat in the buffet. The one comedy show I was able to see had some very funny comedians and Jersey Boys was awesome but trying to get into these shows was terrible. They put you in a stand by line if you don't have reservations and if people show up 10-15 mins late, they still let these groups in. Wasn't fair in my opinion to those that were there 10-15 mins prior to showtime to get a seat waiting in stand by. Same with the Go-Karts and Laser Tag. The Go-Karts were fun but not worth the extra $10 in my opinion. The staff at the go-kart track was terrible and they let young kids (8-9 yrs old) race that cant even see over the steering wheel, barely reaching the pedals, are not staying over in the right lane so you end up running into them if they can't make the turn. They also get mad if you accidently bump into someone who crashed or cut right in front of you. They also don't even have a standby line for any solo racers so they would let 8 karts go in one and then send out 5 in the next group. Also, you would book a time for 3pm but wouldn't even race until almost and hour later. Also good luck if it rains because if so, they cancel your race without being able to rebook and just give you back your money. Not really fair in my opinion. Both activities they just show you a video and then let you go. Overall the reservation system is total garbage. Outside of those, the Cabin/stateroom is very nice and the staff take very good care of your room and your belongings. Overall, its nice if you just want a getaway but not worth the extra money they nickel and dime you for. Would much rather be back on Carnival next time. Read Less

After sailing on many celebrity cruises, we were excited to see the new Edge. The ship was dismal after the Solstice class ships. We are sad to think that the era of Celebrity is over. Some things were nice on the ship. The pool area at night lit up beautifully. The room Eden is nice in terms of shape and views of the sea. However, the color scheme is bland and the plain natural earth tones are just downright boring. The cabin did have more space to put clothes away. That is the only redeeming quality on the ship. So I was told that Sky Observation Lounge was replaced by Eden. Sky on all the Solstice class ships had a color scheme and furniture layout that was exciting and gave you infinite possibilities for a large cocktail party. It was also a great place to go for cocktails late in the evening. Eden's design is multi-level which blocks the ocean views and gives you the feeling that you are in a local community library. Our favoritte restuarants on the ship along with the stunning ocean view are going . Put photos of Solstice Blu next to Edge Blu. Solstice Blu was not only well decorated but had floor to ceiling windows. Edge Blu lacks the brilliance of the decore and the windows are gone. Well there are windows, but the curtains remain closed as the only view would be the lifeboats just outside. The Martini bar on the Solstice class ships were elegantly decorated. The fabrics and style was hip, trendy chic. A fabulous place to sip cocktails. The new Martini bar (is it still called that?) looks like a lounge in a shopping mall. The giant light fixture looks like plastic flouresent light fixtures that do a silly chaser sequence from time to time to the tune of "a fifth of Beethoven". I'm sorry but it's not 1976 anymore and chaser lights are on every shopping mall christmas tree. WTF? And if you like a balcony cabin (which has become the staple of cruise ships) you can forget it with Edge. They are gone. You do get a nice window to peer out of. This ship was touted as "the ship that is designed to leave the future behind". I think it leaves the future of Celebrity behind. I heard all the Solstice class ships are going back to be dumbed down to look like the Edge. I am so sad to hear this. I have many fond memories of being blown away with the style and decor of Solstice and her sister ships. At least I have photos. *Decor and color scheme was very BLAND. The 1950s retro look is not new. *Sunset bar...looks like a cheap hotel bar...and I mean CHEAP. *Fine dining will not be found in Eden or Le Petite Chef. These concepts are for children. *Dancing in the club? Well you can fine triva games. *Rooftop garden may be a good place to watch TV. If you can find a comfortable place to sit and thats why you wanted to pay $$$ to go on a cruise ship. If I wanted to watch TV I would have stayed at home. Read Less

Avid cruisers, so excited to be on the “revolutionary Edge” couldn’t be more excited for the cruise to END...that’s a first. Cruise terminal was beautiful, check in very efficient, quick, helpful. Entrance to the ship with complimentary champagne, showed such beautiful decor, artwork, lighting...we were pleased. The infinite veranda stateroom quite nice — great bedding, view, storage space, desk, amenities. That’s the end of the compliments...here’s the brutal truth of the Edge...boring and pretentious. NO library or game room, NO Soduko, crossword puzzles. No BINGO, crafts or demonstrations. Trivia, a great way to join a team, meet people, learn, has morphed into a solo event you play on the app — hope you have a WiFi package. Entertainment is amateurish, over productive and boring as hell. Walk outs during the performance were so frequent, it was a distraction. We went to each show with an open mind...let’s see...Acrobatic routine to Shakespeare, “The Purpose”, The Jewelry Box, to name an abysmal few....total snoozefest. The Eden production was horrific, and the “entertainers” looked embarrassed through the constant fog. Where was the opportunity to hear a variety of music? Where were the dance spots? No Motown, coverbands, hip hop, funk, Caribbean, etc. etc. Just a few sad solo artists with tired songs and non-varied set. So, there’s no entertainment, so let’s try the food to compensate. Didn’t live up to the beautifully appointed rooms. Tables for two, so close to one another, proved conversation difficult. Four similar dining rooms, each offering a few “specialty menu items” gave fair service with passable food, not cruise quality food...think Applebees, Chili’s. Why do servers wear aprons? That’s a caste divider. No presence of a cruise director but we did see him on the TV screen...make that position virtual too. Add a virtual activities director as well, as there is very little to do on SEA days. First port was San Juan...arrival at 3:30 on New Years’ Day....nothing was opened. Huh? Two SEA days at end of itinerary...couldn’t alter to provide three full days. The Celebrity Edge must quickly figure out who its’ target audience is. It’s not the frequent cruiser, it may be a millennial who wishes the dream fantasy sequence, techno babble, and introvert catering. Good luck attracting the few in that demographic who could pay. Overcrowded ship, not enough employees, long waits for food at dinner (6:00 seating), food quality in dining room noticeably lower than all my past cruises. Our cruise director made too many loud and annoying announcements. He interrupted the poolside movie twice and it took over 20 minutes for anyone to turn it back on (and it did not start in the right place). No one seemed to notice it had turned off until guests went and told someone. Room dusty and no robes in cabin anymore. Room service (sandwiches, etc.) no longer free. Evening stage shows noticeably worse than in years past. No lobster on elegant night (unless we paid $20 per person). Lobster has been a part of all the other cruise elegant nights we have attended. I couldn't believe how far downhill Carnival had gone since my last cruise 2 years ago. This was our 6th cruise together (16 people), and it was unanimously and by far the worst with many disappointments each and every day. There were never enough lounge chairs (fights and yelling broke out on board on the pool deck on the day that we couldn't stop at Amber Cove and had an unexpected "fun" day at sea). Once the announcement that we wouldn't visit Amber Cove was made, people were running and grabbing chairs out of the chair stacks, fighting over them ,and even bringing the chairs off their balconies just to have a place to sit. In the stateroom, the sofa "bed" for the third person was an absolute joke. A mattress, longer than the small sofa, was placed on top of the loveseat size sofa, and the overhang of the mattress was supported by a pillow on the floor. The bed was not suitable for an adult and we were not warned that it would be this short. Carnival, please provide better service and stop cutting amenities. Your longtime customers notice every cut. If you continue to cut corners and cut costs by serving low quality food and reducing amenities, I believe you will see a downturn in the type of clientele you attract. Read Less

I chose this particular cruise as it is one we had been on before on a different cruise line. We enjoyed that one so much, I thought, how different could it be on another cruise line with what I thought was a pretty reputable name. I couldn't have been anymore mistaken. This cruise was actually our Christmas and graduation from college gifts to our two children. Only one of my two children had cruised before and knew pretty much what to expect. As my one child put it...he had a better time on the what he referred to as the "budget cruise line" than he did on this particular cruise. My daughter has traveled the world, mostly by air and said she was less that impressed with cruising. I told her that she shouldn't base her dislike of cruising from this particular cruise because as we know, they can be much different. Our New Years cruise aboard the Norwegian Epic to the Eastern Caribbean left us with few good things to say about this cruise. The ship was on the small size and was completely packed. While I understand it was a holiday cruise, there were not enough amenities for a full house. While our cabin was nice and our cabin steward was delightful, along with most of the other hands on workers including the bartenders, waiters and waitresses, etc., some of the phone operators in particular guest services were quite unfriendly. We didn't care for the fact that the higher up managers walked around in their white uniforms checking out how the workers were doing their jobs and being condescending to some of them. As part of our cruise package, we chose the unlimited beverage package and the three specialty dinners package. How do you run out of a certain ingredient to make a particular drink, which happened to be mint on the third day of a cruise?? The specialty dinners were not very memorable with the exception of the Brazilian steak house, and perhaps because we had never experienced that food adventure before, The french choice seemed ok, though not as good as the first and the last, Italian is not even worth commenting on. Then the next very annoying challenge was trying to find chairs around any of the pools, or for that matter, finding a chair anywhere outdoors. I'm not sure what time people came out to stake out their chairs but we were out fairly early, around 9:00 am without an unclaimed chair in sight. Even if more chairs were available, there was no place to put them. They chair were lined up like sardines. The last stop on our cruise was to Norwegians private island which turned out to be a real disaster. We had to be tendered out to the island and I believe ours was at 10:00 AM and again, by the time we arrived, there wasn't a chair to be found except at a picnic table. We turned right around and took the next tender back to the ship. Because most everyone was on the island, we ended up having a better time on the ship. We could pick any chair we wanted and there wasn't a line at the bar or any of the restaurants. I believe it was the most enjoyable day on the ship. People came back from the island complaining about the long times for food and drink. So while I haven't given up on cruising, because I know it can be enjoyable, it certainly won't be on Norwegian Cruise Lines again. Read Less

Planned New Years cruise to relax - didn't necessarily care about the ports. From day one it was a bad experience - the room was filthy, dirty carpet with rat droppings all over. The sofa was filthy, I put a towel on it before I could sit. Paid for a suite with a balcony as usual. Would not have stayed if it were a hotel. The shows were very good, easy to get into, very pleased. Dining was OK- seemed to have lots of leftovers on the buffet, but it a buffet.... Service was very much less than expected - while we have been on other Norwegian cruises I have never seen staff speak to guests as I saw on this cruise - had them bark at me and suggest I go to another place for service as they were busy. Saw them making fun of other guests....really, at least go behind closed doors if you are going to make fun of the people paying your paycheck. Never again - not just done with Norwegian Epic - done with Norwegian - period. Will lose almost $2,000 in deposits but would never do it again. Read Less

The summary of this cruise would be oversold and understaffed! This cruise line packed as many people as possible and there were no where near the available amenities to serve the people! Excursions were cancelled due to staffing, there were no chairs available most of the time, it took forever to get served anything! I actually felt sorry for the staff, or at least for the ones who weren't incredibly rude! On day two, my adult children woke up to a sweltering hot room! It took about 8 hours and 3 requests for someone to finally come fix their air! Also on day two I was eating breakfast and bit into a piece of glass! They took my room number! On day 6 I pulled a piece of glass out of my lip from my bar drink! Again, they took my room number! On day two my niece and nephew were assaulted by a very drunk passenger! They took our room number! On day two they ran out of mint, an essential ingredient in the only drink my husband likes other than premium bourbon (which they do not serve)! There were long lines for anything you needed and there were no seats in any bar or any entertainment venue unless you got in line an hour before opening! The day on their private island was simply a change of venue with the same issues! Not enough chairs or food and beverage service! Long lines and not enough staff! So besides the glass in the food and the long lines to be served, the food itself was terrible. I am not incredibly picky, but I found myself saying, "well this meal wasn't too terrible" on occasion. My parents paid for for 16 of us to go on this cruise! I hate that they wasted so much money on something that was so incredibly disappointing! Oh and by the way, as many times as they took our room number, they never actually did anything about our issues. This was our first and last NCL cruise! I will stick with Crystal! The only positive thing I can say is that our cabin steward was incredibly sweet and accommodating! She was the best part of NCL! She should go work for Crystal! Read Less

Along with several hundred others, I made the mistake of traveling on NCL during the college football bowl season. I should have checked with NCL but just a assumed they would televise the playoffs. NCL then got to sell me the $500 premium streaming internet package that didn’t even work. Of course, no refunds. Beyond this, so many other issues that made this the worst cruise I have taken (out of 7). The food was not good (except specialty dining, which is an extra cost) and everything had lines or was sold out. Excursions, shows, everything needed pre planning or you were out of luck. Also, if your room was in the aft, you needed to walk through the Smokey casino to get to a lot of places or take a long route around. Worst part was nobody cared to help you resolve issues. In terms of positives, the kids loved the pool water slides and bar service was pretty good given how full the ship was. Read Less

This started poorly with the embarkation process. Very unorganized and SLOW. once onboard, no music (Usually a calypso band playing on other cruise lines), no welcome drink. To top it off, we didn’t leave Port for four hours waiting for the meat delivery! Holland did nothing to compensate for this late departure. Most lines will serve drinks or snacks or SOMETHING to ease the pain of inconvenience. Thie ship was nice, but the availability of entertainment was far less than mediocre. Also, the service was almost nonexistent at the pool and on deck. Had to keep going to the bar. The main pool was like a sauna because they didn’t fully open the roof! Forget about late-night - no food and not many entertainment options. The Main Stage Theater had less than average entertainment and the showtimes did not coincide with the dining. 2nd Dinner seating was at 7:45 and the last show was at 9:00. The staff was so slow that we had to skip dessert in order to see a show. There were two bands and a dueling piano bar. Nothing available after their last sets at 11 pm. I always felt like the staff was doing me a favor by doing their jobs. I will stick with Royal Caribbean or Carnival for guaranteed fun and better service. Holland America is not for me. Read Less

To begin with let me assure you that we are experienced cruisers. We take at least one cruise a year and typically two. This was our 9th cruise on Celebrity. So I believe we have some reasonable comparisons and authority for our evaluation. The Good: The ships décor in all common areas was spectacular. The three floor chandelier in the lounge area that kept beat with the music is truly special. The specialty restaurants were great! We especially enjoyed the unique aspect of the Eden. The five course dinner menu is wonderful and the desserts are fantastic. The Fine Cuts Steak House is as good a steak restaurant as you will experience. A great selection of dishes and a very good wine list. Be sure you don’t miss the show at La Petite Bistro. It is very unusual and entertaining. Bring your video camera as you will want to record this for your friends. The Bad I hadn’t realized that Celebrity had become an airline or has decided to follow the lead of the Cunard line. The Edge has decided that class envy is appropriate since certain restaurants are not available to all passengers and there is a cost to everything. Really $4 plus gratuity for two scoops of Gelato? Is that really necessary? Additionally, it is clear that Celebrity has decided to take their que from the airlines and squeeze as many cabins as possible into the ships interior all at the determent of it’s paying passengers!. The Ugly Without a doubt the stateroom was the worst part of the trip. We booked ourselves into a Concierge Class Suite. It was anything but a suite. Total square footage 201 sq.ft. The smallest suite we have ever been in and the smallest room we have been in over the past 10 years. As for the “infinite Veranda”, it a window, nothing more. It provides an additional 40 sq. ft. of space with two small chairs and a smaller table. The window only opens half of the wall so you can’t enjoy the outside. A truly waste of space and a way for the company to not have to pay to keep the veranda’s maintained. A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. We are long time members of Captain’s Club and were sorely disappointed at the lack of treatment we received. We attended the wine tasting and walked out as the wines were of such low quality I wouldn’t drink them. As for special treatment on boarding or dismemberment forget it. It was mass confusion. TERRIBLE! Summary Will we travel with Celebrity again, probably. Will we cruise on the ship EDGE, NEVER! Read Less

We took a 7 days eastern Caribbean cruise out of Miami and by day 3 when we got to San Juan we where about to get off the ship and fly back home. The ship was dirty and it looked like the public areas had not been cleaned in weeks. There was trash everywhere and the restrooms where do disgusting that you could smell the pee by walking near them. The food was horrible. The buffet was the same food everyday, nothing changed and it was bland and tasteless. The staff was RUDE! I called guest services to complain about the people next door that they where in the balcony at 3am screaming to people in other balconies and I was told “So? What do you want me to do about it?” In addition, we where never greeted on board, until the third day that the host from the restaurant talked to us. She was great -Lydia was her name. The only kind, warm and compassionate crew member. We take about 8 cruises a year and we like to relax and read a book or two. Something that we where not able to do. Food was so bad that we could wait to get to the ports to go eat. We actually lost weight in this cruise. On the positive note, the shows are amazing! Read Less

This was our first cruise and planned for over a year for Christmas week 2018. Boarded in Miami and cruised St.Thomas, Tortola, and Bahamas. After exploring the ship on boarding day and eating at the buffet I thought we were in for a week of our lives. On Sunday morning we woke fairly early to have our first pool day, to my disbelief there was barely a chair to be found. We found a couple chairs eventually in a shaded area far from the one pool. Yes, that is correct they have ONE pool! They advertise two but the second has toddlers in diapers connected to water park area for toddlers. So unless you have little ones or like to swim in diapers its not for you. The first pool I mentioned is about the same size as the pool in my backyard! There's no easy entrance to the pool, no swim up bar, but plenty of salt if you bring your margarita! I literally swam once in the entire week. The two slides are flawed as it takes 45 minutes in line to ride them. The extreme ride was designed so poorly that many riders actually don't make the apex and slide helplessly backward and need to be extracted by personnel. Needless to say I did not attempt this nor my two children as the wait and failure rate just didn't seem worth it. I will finish with this regarding the pool area, on day two I woke early to mark four chairs for my family with towels and clips and bags, as this is how it's done on cruises. Upon arrival later that morning my chairs were now down to two, my bag was missing, and I almost got into a fight. Wow! what a cruise dream! They have go carts and laser tag for kids if you can sign up in time. I'll be honest I still don't know what that means because we never had a chance to sign up because it was full every time someone tried! Yes, we spent 7 days on a cruise ship with two teens and they barely swam, used one slide twice, and never saw go carts or laser tag. In my opinion they should have left the carts and tag off the ship and build some real pools. On the positive side the food and drinks were very good. The three shows we saw were also very well done. The room was decent size and always clean. The employees do an amazing job and are always friendly. Unfortunately for us this was designed around my kids and nephews who left highly disappointed. I would not recommend this ship to anyone with children, actually I would not recommend this ship to anyone as the pool deck experience is horrific! Read Less

We will ignore the onboarding process (1.5 hours) - it was a Christmas cruise afterall and people were excited to get onboard at the same time. However, once onboard, there was confusion as people were standing at the point of entry and staff were not dealing with the congestion. The elevators closest to us were not in service (and remained out of service for the whole cruise). The real issues for us started when we arrived at our cabin (9066) - there were dead flies in the cabin, heavy staining to the sofa, bed cover and headboard, carpet not cleaned properly as there was debris under the bed. The balcony had cigarette butts and ash so clearly had not been cleaned. We asked for our cabin to be changed but were told there were no other cabins (and didn't we realise this was a Christmas cruise!!). Children were not in control and staff happy for families to be in every bar with children sat at the bar or running around in bars where drinks are served in glass rather than plastic in rough seas. So a real safety issue here as staff chose to complain to passengers like us (with no children) rather than dealing with the situation. Public areas such as toilets and buffet were not always clean. Food was average (but we were aware that this might be the case) but overall, too many staff that were new or did not know their ship and so could not be helpful, staff over run with too many people arriving at one location at the same time (restaurants - people deciding to eat outside their agreed dining time and therefore wanting to get seated later). Unhelpful reception, poorly maintained facilities (elevators, toilets, stairways, some bar areas and telephone systems). I accept that others will have had a different experience but dirty cabins and public areas are never acceptable, selling balcony cabins as suites are poor practice and there can never be any excuse for allowing people to run around uncontrolled, especially where safety is involved Read Less
