Easy access to the town and all the main stores of Europe represented. A perfect place to purchase those forgotten items that didn't make it into your suitcases for the cruise. Plenty of sales going on and many bargains to be found.

Pretty Town, easy walking distance from Port. The older part of town was much nicer Large shopping centre right by the Ships port, which was useful for a few gifts, but try the older part of town for the local pottery etc first

At first Vigo does not appear at all enticing, but once you get to know your way around it becomes more appealing and has some very good shops and restaurants.

On this occasion we stayed in Vigo which is certainly feeling the depression caused by the Euro. Most things closed on Sunday. On a previous occasion we went to Santiago de Compostela and that is thoroughly recommended.

Vigo is easy to visit. The ship docks right in the centre of the city. Walk off, cross the road to the Tourist information centre. A City Tour of one hour leaves from outside.

Vigo was good for shopping (perhaps). We would have preferred two days in Oporto instead. Oporto is a wonderful city full of character and comes highly recommended. Bilbao was a revelation and we found the Guggenheim to be an affordable and fun place to visit. Le Verdon was better than expected thanks to the accessibility of Royan. Le Havre was nothing special. Thankfully the sun shone. Read Less

Our Iberian Highlights included four ports of call -- Vigo (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Valencia (Spain), and Barcelona (Spain). Cunard made its maiden voyage to Vigo. It was really convenient that the QM2 docked at the heart of Vigo making self-guided walking tours so convenient. Although we did not do this ourselves, the highlight of stopping here would have been a 96 km trip to Santiago de Compostela to visit the cathedral and the tomb of Saint James the Apostle. Along with Rome and Jerusalem, the Vatican considers Santiago de Compostela a Holy City. Read Less
