We took a cab ride to Magen's Bay. The cab ride was $8 per person and it was $5 for beach access. Kids under 12 were free. Amazing beach!

After doing much internet research we planned to take the water ferry (within walking distant of where our ship docked) to nearby Water Island. Was easy to find and cost was $10 per person round trip and Water Island was within view of the ship. Honeymoon beach was a quick shuttle (free) from where the water ferry dropped us off. We were the first ones on the beach and it was awesome!! Beautiful calm water for swimming or snorkeling; also rented wave runners. The guys in our party rented a golf cart for cheap and explored the island too. We enjoyed drinks and lunch from one of two beach bars on the beach. I would go here again! Read Less

We traveled to St John on our own by taxi/ferry/taxi. Trunk Bay was amazing and the snorkeling breathtaking. The snorkel rental company was great, thoroughly explained the use of all of the equipment, safety information, what to do if, etc. Lots of fish, all sizes, huge coral, all starting 40ft or so off shore. Make sure you have enough cash ($10 pp each way for St Thomas taxi to Red Hook, $8.15 pp each way for St John Ferry, $6 pp each way taxi to Trunk Bay, $5 pp to enter National Park (they accept the park pass), $15 pp for snorkel fins, mask, and vest, and approx. $15-20 pp to eat snacks from beach vendors unless you bring your own, plus plan money for shopping and snack in Cruz Bay. We ran out of money. Read Less

Just took taxi to Sapphire Beach. Very small and rocky beach with lots of seaweed. View was beautiful but will go back to Magen's Bay next time.

We arrived at 7 AM and left at 6 PM. It was the perfect amount of time to explore the island and relax on the beach.

I loved St. Thomas. We went to Magan's Bay, which is highly recommended. Just get a cab from the cruise port. It was $10 a piece. Don't give your cruise ship $50+ for the beach break. You get the same thing by taking a local taxi.

We visited a few shops but did not purchase an excursion. I regret that we didn’t visit the world-renowned Magens bay beach. I will definitely have to visit again!

Not much to do other than shop. People bothered you on streets for taxi rides. We didn’t stay out long.
