We cabbed to Mullet Bay. I believe it was $8.00 pp. The beach is beautiful. You can rent chairs and umbrellas too. There is a little restaurant on the beach with wifi. The burgers were great. We love this beach.

Am glad NCL is getting rid of this port when Escape comes to Easter Caribbean. Will miss Maho beach though. Kinda dirty island, but most are anyway. Just not a big fan of St. Maarten.

We walked the main road to the beach, only about 20 minutes away. There are numerous shops and places for a drink along the way. The beach seems average.

Just wandered the downtown, did some shopping and sightseeing. Then took a cab over to Divi Bay Resort so we could wander up and see Fort Amsterdam. Quite the place and even waded in the Sea at the beach.

Just just walked around St. Maarten and shopped. Enjoyed lunch a beachfront cafe. It is very easy to take the ferry over to the beach. You can rent beach chairs and an umbrella for a low price if you like. Beautiful views!

Went shopping and spent a while at Sharky's. Drinks are a lot cheaper than on the boat, so we had some fun there! Sample rum in a few of the shops. Shopping is no different there than any other island, but more expensive.

Last day, and no sea day before getting back to San Juan, so needed some "unwind time" . Got off ship, took water taxi ($7.00 round trip per person) to beach. 2 beach chairs, umbrella, and bucket of 5 good beers for $20.00! Can't beat that. Shopping is right behind you on Front Street. Star Wars fan? Walk down the street to the "Yoda Guy" museum...worth it if you are a fan, and the actual "Yoda Guy" was right there, and happy to tell you about himself and everything. We bought some art, so the museum entry was free. At around 1:30pm, we reluctantly gave up your beach chairs, walked to back-street, and caught a "bus" (actually a 16 passenger van) to Maho Beach to see the jets take off and land. Bus was $2.00 per person, and trip took maybe 25 minutes. Jets at Maho were pretty cool, definitely a "must do once" thing at St Maarten. It will keep you entertained for an hour or 3. Beach was steep, but nice. Surf when we were there was pounding, fine if you are wanting to try body-surfing, but it can pummel you if you aren't! Took another bus back to the beach ($2.00 per person again), then, after some shopping down an alley (not really an alley ,but kind of, and very good deals on stuff), then back to the beach, the water taxi, and back to the ship. Very fun and relaxing day. Read Less

Did not book an excursion. Got off the ship … found the taxi/van station and had them take us to Orient Beach. It cost $ 8 per person to get us there. Orient Beach is broken down into 2 beaches … topless tourist full of bars and gift shop huts. They dropped us off here and this is where we stayed. We also rented an umbrella and lounge chairs for $ 12 each … well worth it. OH yeah… bring your ship towel with you. The other beach is a FULL nude beach. Don’t go there … there are some things that can never be unseen. Ride to the beach maybe 20 minutes from the boat. I would GO back to this beach for sure. Read Less

We fell in love with St. Maarten and this was really our favorite stop on the cruise. The beach was beautiful and the water was really warm. The water was roped off to prevent jellyfish from getting to the swimming areas. There were jet ski rentals right on the beach and you could rent beach chairs with umbrellas. Shopping here was great. The only notable bad experience was being approached by a local to buy pot. We laughed it off though was the "policia" escorted that individual off of the beach. We have decided that we will be returning to St. Maarten for an extended stay on the island. Read Less
