Took transfer to town centre. Coach besieged by people selling tours as we approached the coach park, some people did not disembark. Once into the market, these people disappeared and one could walk around in peace. No one pressing you to buy things, you could just explore the stalls where whole families were living out their lives. They were as interested in seeing you as you were them. They were pleased if you took photos, so different to other markets we visited. The surroundings were not so clean as in other markets, but the people were clean, nicely dressed and very friendly. Adjacent to the coach park was a drinks cafe, where westerners congregated, with free wifi, heaven! No western type cafes or restaurants. Read Less

On our own. Five of us rented a Hobie Cat at Sail Sihanoukville at Otres 1. It was cheap! The cab was $30 RT divided by 5 and the Hobie Cat rental was $8 per person for 3.5 hours.

Arranged this tour for 20 CCs in advance with the Don Bosco Hotel School. It was a fantastic day out with wonderful people. The school students and a teacher acted as guides as we visited the fishing village, a water fall, the market and other sites in the morning. We stopped at their coffee shop and all the students were stood outside to welcome us! We had a wonderful stop with coffee, cake, ice creams included. Later we visited the Hotel School for lunch and again were welcomed with a line up and a refreshing fruit cocktail. Then we were entrained with traditional dancing and a 3 course lunch served and cooked by the students. We ended the day at the beach and it was one of those special days to remember! It's a wonderful charity and l urge you all to visit. It cost 49 USD each and was the best value of the whole cruise Read Less

The ship shuttle bus drops us near a market downtown. We enjoyed walking along the street near the market but didn't spend too much time in the market as the heat/smells were overwhelming the market.

Cambodja is not much developed. Roads are in terrible conditions and it is very dirty. There was a shuttle from the pier to some square. Here a number of TukTuk drivers offered there services. We started on $80 for a TukTuk the entire day but baargained down to $50. Still probably a high price for cambodia! We went to the waterfall which took about 45 minutes. The road was sometimes none existing and we had to get of and push the tuktuk out of the mud. also there was two "tolls" we're we had to pay some guy sitting in a hammok money for unclear reasons. Anyway the waterfall was soo beautiful it was woth all hazzle! Then we went to the beuatiful Otres beach and had a great lunch including beer for just $4. Finally the market which was an interesting experience Read Less

We took the free shuttle provided by the city to the central market. Though the ship was in port until 9:00PM, the last shuttle back was much earlier: 4PM if I remember correctly. Tuk-tuk drivers surround the bus when it arrives trying to get customers. You can negociate fair prices. For us, it was enough time. We took a tuk-tuk around town and it took us to 2 temples and 3 beaches, which are the highlights of the town. The market was an experience as well! Read Less

Not a lot to do here. Small, poor fishing village with nice beaches, and the only deep-water port in Cambodia. Took a great full-day private tour with Sihanouk Ville seaside tours.

HAL charged for shuttle to get to the main village which is very poor, dirty and full of pushy taxi drivers. The booze is cheap and the market large, surprisingly clean and friendly.
