Spectacular beach! You can just get off the ship and walk to the old city and beach. No need for a tour if you just want to spend time at the beach. Highly recommended.

We arranged self tour with Romantika Day Tours. It was a 10 min walk from port. We had 3 stops at beaches where we jumped off boat for swim and snorkelled at the last stop. It was so much fun. They supplied a feast for lunch of seafood, rolls, salads, chicken, vegetables and as much beer wine and soft drinks and water as you wanted. It was such a great day and on return we had enough time to walk around Malta town and the shops for gelato Read Less

Rainy- My husband didn't want to use an umbrella today so I went with 2 other ladies into town, any easy walk as the rain quit as soon as we left the gangway. Walked around the port to the new town along the city wall, and walked into the walled city near the Grandmasters Palace. Visited there and it rained while we were inside. Most of the shops were closed but some opened just for our ship. Found a great deal on Greek linens in the main old town, and took pictures. The pharmacy was open and pharmacist spoke English well, and helped me with my needs. Nice townspeople. Read Less

We enjoyed full day by leaving port with taxi. Lots of sight seeing. He drove us to St. Paul beach. He drove super fast and past other vehicles around corners on the mountains! Yikes! The beaches were beautiful. He picked oranges that tasted like combination of grapefruit & Orange. He then dropped us to a local restaurant where no one spoke English. We were served various foods. Not sure what we ate but it was yummy. We ended day by shopping. Read Less

We absolutely loved Rhodes. It is a medieval walled city that has been so carefully maintained and restored that it is easy to picture knights and the like walking around. It is a beautiful town. We disembarked reasonably early and went first to the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, beating most of the tours and crowds. Wow! It is in amazing shape and was just like you would imagine a medieval palace to be! We also visited the Archaeological Museum, and enjoyed that. We then walked over to the other side of that end of the island and swam at a beach for an hour or so, before eating lunch and wandering back via the tip of the island. So relaxing and beautiful. Lots of tourist shops with the occasional craft/local goods store. Was nice to spend a few hours in. Many folks went to Lindos and raved about the experience.
