We did go to Fiji due to a cyclone but instead went to Tonga - nice visit - not advanced place but people very friendly and cheap place to shop. Several interesting things to see. Had a lovely tour around island.

It was great waiting to board the Fiji Princess. So many shops to look in while waiting. Although we only had an hour to wait before boarding the ship.

Used the $1 yellow bus which leaves from outside the shops on the left, carpark side, to get into town. It was a Sunday so the shops that were open were limited.

This time we opted to go to a local resort and have a swim, beer and lunch. We ended up at Wyndham Beach Resort which is apparently a timeshare. Very nice facility and somewhere we could go back to if staying longer in Fiji. Read Less

30 to 40 minute tender from the ship, but well worth it. Good value shopping at the Port, with a variety of ships and restaurants. A free and well presented cultural show was put on for us.

Loved the port shopping precinct. Loved the cultural activities that featured during the day. We negotiated with a local taxi driver who took us around Nadi and Port Denarau.

Went to a village were they make pottery. Just be aware they will all sit around in front of their pottery to sell and each person is independent of the other.
