We did Marksburg Castle on our Rhine Cruise, so we decided to do this one - mostly for the views. The guide was very entertaining and played the role of a British Spy - in costume. Another rain dampened day, but we enjoyed it nonetheless

We walked around Military point and took some pictures. There was a festival set up in that area so it was 'cluttered' with booths, etc. Still could take some nice pictures.

Lovely little town, with the "Deutsches Eck" and statue. There is a cable car available to go to the castle at the top of the hill on the other side, but it was far too hot, so we simply had a wander around. Café bar terraces seemed to close at 11pm, so we found a nice place to people watch just inside one. Koblenz is quite picturesque with lots of statues, including a one which spits at passers by - and a clock where the face sticks its tongue out every 15 minutes! Read Less

This is a charming village we visited independently with other cruisers, in late afternoon. We stopped for a drink at an outdoor cafe, and found the waitress friendly and helpful in choosing a local beer. We walked around Koblenz and went on the cable car. The bus driver sent us in the wrong direction towards the town which wasted about 30 minutes of our time. However the town was beautiful once we walked into it.

It was dark and the sidewalks were covered in snow. Would like to visit again when the weather is better and the attractions are open.

We hit Koblenz at night. I enjoyed seeing some of the monuments on the bay. The town is more concentrated and more commercial. If you were looking for more of a "night-life" atmosphere this was a good place to hit the market. It was lit up and extremely pretty, but most of the stalls were wine stalls. The quality of the merchandise offered at the market was scarce comparatively speaking. All of the shops in the town were closed because of our arrival time. We did eat an excellent bratwurst here, though! Not many Christmas treasures to be found here. Read Less

The statue of Wilhelm de Grossen brought back my husbands german roots and said this felt like home to him (even though he was born in Texas)

Koblenz struck as the city I would most love to live in. The pace the people and the feel of the community were just right for me.

As we had a late arrival it meant we could get off, have a walk around and find a restaurant instead of eating on board
