Key West in my opinion was another city in the United States. I am glad I went there to say I did but will not be making plans just to return. I ate the key lime pies there are lots of places for this and it was tasty. Since it was the first stop it also allowed me a quick stop in the drug store before leaving the USA. Read Less

Had a wonderful time just walking around and enjoying the sights. We also did the Trolley Tour, which I would recommend if you have never been to Key West before.

Key West was great. I have been countless times, so didn't do a shore excursion. I walked thru town and up/down Duval street. The shopping is cool and there are lots of restaurants and bars to hang out at. There is a Margaritaville cafe half way down Duval. Can't beat a cheeseburger in paradise and a Margarita for lunch! Mel Fisher's museum is really cool, as is the shipwreck museum. I always like going to the aquarium, which is great for kids too. If you want a real "local" experience, walk or take a taxi over to Turtle Kralls and have lunch. Read Less

Nice friendly tourist oriented location. Ship street map was hard to navigate. Stores were unusually small. (Diamonds international was as small as my living room! Well, maybe a little larger!) Fun attractive location.

This is an easy port if you're at the "B" dock, which we were, because of the easy walking distance to almost anything. This time we decided to stay away from the craziness of Duval St. and spent some time at the Audubon House and Gardens and then walking the beautiful grounds of the Little White House. The weather was about 80 and sunny so we hit a few bars and found a great restaurant (Fogarty's) and ate outside. It was wonderful. OH KEY WEST.................. What can I say about it.... I'm packing my bags and turning in my resignation at work as we speak............... BEAUTIFUL..... PARADISE........... We took the Trolley Tour here around the Historic Part of Old Key West. Very nice tour and Sheila was very informative. The trees and bushes are absolutely beautiful, as well as the old houses. I fell so in love with Key West that I plan to return for a vacation just there someday. Yes, it's very touristy with all the shops but it has such a beautiful charm to it you can't help falling in love. We also went to the Sea Aquarium which was nice. We got the tour and got to see Patti feed the sharks. We also did the Museum with the 65 foot look out tower. Other than the tower, I would skip this one. It was more of a show than a Museum. Beautiful view from the Tower though. We didn't do the Maritime Museum, which is the one I think we wanted to do. We were kind of lured in to believe that the other one had more treasures and artifacts than it did. Our Mistake. We tried the Key Lime Pie because we were in Key West and I think it's mandatory. We also ate lunch at Fogarty's on Duval street. Very Good food for the money. A small warning though, go easy on the free samples of Rum at the shops on Duval street. One shop had about 8 different flavors out to test. A Rookie like myself should not have tried all of them that quickly, although I did bring home a bottle of Pineapple and a bottle of Banana,,,YUMMMMMMMMMMMM. Read Less

We were originally supposed to stop in Grand Cayman, but were told at the last minute that the port was closed due to bad weather. We were disapointed but these things happen so we decided to settle in and enjoy an extra sea day. To our surprise the captain came on the PA that afternoon and let us know that they had been able to get us a stop in Key West the next day. Woo Hoo! Key West is always a good time and while it was FREEZING we enjoyed a great day. Took the tour of the Hemingway house and did some major bar hopping. The locals are super friendly and the town all in all has a good vibe to it! If you've never been then you should see: Sloppy Joe's, Hemingway House, The Truman museum. Take a stroll around and enjoy the local culture. Tip: Ask the locals where they would eat. You'll get better food (Cuban and sea food are top notch) and you won't have to pay the outrageous tourist prices at the other restaurants. Read Less

Some good history, tours and lots of shops, all within a very compact area. You can pretty much walk anywhere you choose, or rent a scooter or ride the conch tour train. Your ship will likely leave before the sunset celebration at Mallory Square, so don't plan on seeing that. I've been to Key West numerous times now, so it is hard for me to get excited about going there. However, it is a beautiful little city that everyone should see. The weather was very cool the January day we were there. Sweatshirt weather at best. Plus, since this was a substitute port, we had to dock in front of the navy station and be bussed down to Front Street. If we had been able to dock next to Mallory Square, it would have been much more convenient. Read Less

We had been here before and didn't love it - this time was much better! A few tips - rent a scooter or walk around the island - the Conch Tour is more for the older crowd. The Southernmost Point is cool, but after, walk over to the Southernmost Cafe and order a tropical drink and a burger on the beach. Delicious and good prices! The shops were fun, the people were wonderful, and the frozen, chocolate dipped key lime pie was fabulous! We liked it so much we're going back in June. Read Less

Great Stirrup Cay / Key West The original itinerary called for a stop at NCL's private island of Great Stirrup Cay, but when we left Cozumel the Captain announced the predicted weather forecast would make a stop at the island impossible, so they were going to substitute Key West in GSC's place. Many people cheered this announcement. I'd never been to GSC or Key West, so either was fine for me. I had looked forward to snorkeling at the private island, but will get to do that another time. I looked forward to seeing Key West since I'd heard so much about the place :). Key West - We didn't do an excursion here. Hubby and I walked through town, shopped and ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, toured the museum at the Navy area, looked at the outside of a Coast Guard ship, took a picture of the southern point landmark, and shopped. We really enjoyed the day. Read Less
