No excursion booked with the ship. We walked to shore and did a Hop On Hop Off tour. The cost was $45US each. The bus route lasted about 1 1/2 hrs and brought us to the most southern part of Florida before returning. We got off after one hour and chose to walk back towards the pier, along Duval St. Then we walked along the boardwalk, enjoyed some key lime pie at Kermits and headed back to the ship. There were places to visit along the way, for a price, like Hemingway's house, the Key West Light house and Key West Butterfly Conservatory which we passed on. Key West is a lovely place and we would love to visit again. Read Less

We took the free Duval Loop bus to the Southernmost point. We also visited Higgs Beach which has public restrooms and a nice outdoor resturaunt. Beach chairs and umbrellas may be rented on the beach too. We also walked through West Martello Tower. Its an old civil war fort with gardens. They operate on donations. We took the Duval Loop bus back to the pier area and took in the Shipwrecking Museum. It was okay and had an observation tower that offered a good view of the area. Read Less

We did the Hop on Hop off tour and it is a complete waste of time. Do not spend your money on this. Way too crowded especially when other ships are in port.

Key West was quite the debacle, they started out with doing immigration inspections early in the morning. Some friends of ours who had excursions said they were in line for over an hour before it even moved. We waited and went later and the lines were still crazy long. The set up was terrible, the lines were outside in the sun too. We decided to wait even later to avoid the lines. When we finally got in line, we waited a while still. After getting through that mess, we then had to wait in line to get off of the boat. Since we were docked at a Navy pier, we had to take trolleys into Key West. We had to wait in line and then get a trolley. Half the day was gone by the time we actually made it to Key West. We enjoyed walking around and seeing some of the historic sites. We discovered a great gelato place. Read Less

The Trolley was a great way to learn about Old Key West while leaving plenty of time for independent exploring and shopping.

Would recommend Fort Zachary Taylor beach over south beach. South beach was convenient location for bar crawl, but not significant enough to outweigh that south beach is tiny and is slightly dirty with seaweed and you can't get drinks on the beach. A bar is right next to it, but you can't bring their drinks. FZT beach has a tiny bar to get drinks at and can bring them on the beach and the beach is much bigger, immaculate, and a better natural view. Blue Heaven is a MUST. As far as duval street goes, each and every bar is fantastic. Read Less

Key West is amazing, and everything is within walking distance. You MUST try the key lime pie from Kermits, and the Conch Frittes from Sloppy Joes

Key west was fun. As Florida residents we frequent Key West often but this trip was no different. Easy to get on and off the ship and into this new town and back.

Easy, level walking in this town. Beware the cosmetic shops, especially those with the people on the footpath holding “Rip-Off Shop” signs – one passenger we met fell for their sales-pitch and was bullied into spending $4500 on their obscure no-name products! we had a very reasonably priced lunch (with complimentary pina coladas) at Two Friends Patio Restaurant, a short walk from the dock.
