Kai Tak is not a good terminal to get in or out of. The zig zag bridge between the terminal and the ship is a nightmare. Someone from Hong Kong should be fired for installing this piece of junk.

Close to port. We hired a private guide for a 1/2 day tour (toursbylocals). We saw Victoria's Peak, the markets and different areas of Hong Kong. It's a big city and was nice, but not anything amazing. We stayed one night at the Marriott by the airport, which is a wonderful property. They have an 10 minute shuttle to the small city nearby (and and 8 minute shuttle every 30 minutes to the airport). We took it to the cable car and went to the giant buddah. This was a real highlight for us. The cable car ride provided amazing views, the giant buddah was beautiful and there is the very unique city that was part of it with amazing shopping and things to do. Very much recommend!!! Read Less

Hong Kong was great and very easy to get around. we took the free transport station picked up train to centre. we had a tight itinery so goy hop on bus ticket. This is not easy to find but suggest easiest to go to pier 7 where lots of personnel will sell you tickets. using this you get ferry and opportunity to explore both islands over three routes red blue and green. I strongly advise not to get a taxi at ocean terminal. We & hundreds of others waited 4 hours for a taxi, 1 came every 10 to 15 minutes. Will have an organised transfer next time. Be careful with the taxis. One of our party was charged the equivalent of $100 aud to go less than 1k. We paid about $10aud ($60hkd). Make sure you take a photo of the metre reading as they turn it off & you have no proof in case they try to rip you off. The hop on hop off bus is recommended for those not familiar with hk. Actually Hong Kong was our second stop. Amazing amount of building. Easy to navigate the metro. Don't miss Tea at the Peninsula Hotel. Fun markets. Easy to explore without a ship's excursion.

Amazing city. Take a ferry over to Lamma Island from Central for less than £2 or Happy Valley Racecourse Wednesday nights is incredible. If you miss a wednesday, book in advance a table at Shatin racecourse, it includes food and drink and is great fun. Again, try and upgrade your room to Club lounge, by emailing in advance, HK is so expensive the free breakfast, drinks and snacks make it very worthwhile and you usually benefit from late check out too. Having been to HK before we planned well before we sailed. The downside was that we could have returned to the ship on the first night, had dinner aboard and enjoyed the fireworks from the deck (or our balcony!). Unfortunately with no information from Celebrity we made other arrangements and this was an additional cost to us, not as comfortable as being back on board and so very disappointing. Otherwise HK is a great stop. Read Less

We disembarked here and explored independently Kowloon, and Hong Kong Island. A highlight was the Museum of Hong Kong and taking a local bus to Stanley.

Ship provided a shuttle to the metro system thereafter we did our own thing. Bumped into friends off the ship who were on a ship tour several times at key sites. Lots of walking. Could have done with 48hrs really.
