We took ferry over, then took a bus to the beaches. Stopped at Swizzles for lunch. Shopped in Hamilton and Ferried back. Very beautiful and a great time.

It was the same price through the cruise or direct. Booking direct, though would have allowed us to have a smaller group of people in our dolphin swim.

Loved the convenience of docking on Front Street and the ability to leave the ship and walk around the downtown area to re-visit favorites like the Cathedral and Art Museum.

Great driver who took the four of us round the island and stopped in Hamilton for a little while. Really loved Bermuda and would go again.

Very pretty, very wealthy, very clean - and very expensive! But if you can afford to eat ashore in Norway you'll be OK here. The local buses are very efficient and a good and cheap way of getting around.

Our third trip to the Island. We love that this ship was small and able to dock right on Front Street.

A Bermuda cruise which docks in Hamilton is very different and better then one which ports at the dockyard . Besides being in a beautiful setting , you don't have to fight thousand of other Island guests for transportation , space and calm . As we had "free" room and board on the Veendam , we did not dine onshore aside from a couple of lunches . We'd certainly like to return to this beautiful Island to discover all the attractions we didn't have time for . Hamilton Although we did not eat in Hamilton , we did enjoy its beauty . walking Front Street to the Hamilton Princess with its impressive art collection . We visited Queen Elizabeth park and Fort Hamilton . The fort is just outside the city and offers a neat path in the moat beneath the fort . The Bermuda National Library is a great place to get free wi-fi . (Grand name for a small library . Read Less

Being able to pull into the downtown Hamilton, as opposed to the outer docking facility is the way to do it. Thankful that we were on a smaller ship, which could get into the town dock.

The excellent public transport system in Hamilton made excursions redundant. This neat and compact city is easy to navigate, on foot, or by bus. TIP: Hamilton is very British (even has a branch of Marks & Spencer!) but prices are high. Bermuda dollars and US dollars are both accepted (1:1), but you should ask for change in US. After decades of neglect, the islanders have resurrected the Royal Naval Dockyard and it is well-worth a visit. Read Less

On the other 2 days we .... 1- Used the ferry and bus hopper service for $19 for the day. We went to St Georges on the ferry to visit Katherine Beach and Tobacco bay (Both are amazing places), then buses back to Hamilton (Stopping at a few other beaches) then a ferry back to the ship in the evening 2- Hired hoped and toured the south coast beaches (Horseshoe, Pink beach, Elbow) and definitely worth it. They are fairly pricey when hiring 1 per person for only 1 day (Cheaper for 2 or 3 days) but with the flexibility and ease of use they are great. If you are sensible as well then they seemed safe enough. Island was quiet and roads in good shape ! Booked through Oleander cycles who are a 2 minute walk from cruise terminal. Recommended Read Less
