Walked from ship through town centre. Nice Pubs, Shops opened late because it was Boxing Day. Some remained closed. Took cable car up the Rock. We carried a croissant, well wrapped in the bottom of our back pack. This created unwanted attention from the Apes so we made a hasty retreat down again. DONT CARRY ANYTHING EDIBLE up there. Also try and pay with as near to the right amount of cash as possible as you will be given change in Gibraltar coins and notes which are not legal tender in the UK. Read Less

Our 2nd visit. Saw Europa Point and used city bus transportation to also take us to cable car to Rock of Gibraltar and to see the monkeys. We'll take another ship excursion in 2019.

Good views of the rock when sailing in. Short walk to port exit. As we are members of The Ramblers we had decided to spend the day hiking "The Rock". We entered via the Moorish Castle. A walking ticket cost 5 pound. Thoroughly enjoyed this scenic walk but it is not for the faint hearted. We had no interest in the history of the rock so did not enter any of the exhibitions. We did see all the sites we wanted to including standing on the glass platform, Windsor Bridge, the pillars of Hercules and of course the apes, which we didn't really want to see, at least not at close quarters. Returned to the ship past The Rock Hotel, Trafalgar Cemetery and Main Street. Read Less
