The ship was scheduled to go to gran tarajal, but in the event called at Puerto del rosario instead. this was disappointing as it is nothing special, though a pleasant enough town for a wander.

The timetable given to us at the Tourist Office was useless as we and several other people waited for a bus for 40 minutes, they were supposed to pass ever 15 minutes or so. We walked up the the town which was fairly typical tourist stuff. Shops and cafés. The market was not on that day, unfortunately. Finally we stopped on a terrace and had a beer, and there were a couple of locals playing their guitars and singing local songs, which was great. Read Less

Company offers tours for 20 euros right by the gate. Takes you to Corralje and aloe vera place. There is a mall in town, but we didn't go. Not much else.

We just walked along the coast and back through the town. It is a very quiet town, especially as it was Sunday, but also very pleasant.

The port of Puerto Del Rosario in Fuerteventura has little to see other than a pleasant old church and some nice sculptures; there was also a small market on the promenade but it only took about an hour to see everything. We then headed to the bus station and took the Bus No. 6 (Euro 3.10 each way) to the Northern beach town of Corralejo that offers fine views of Lanzarote and Isla de los Lobos, as well as having a decent array of restaurants on the promenade and in town. The bus leaves every hour, on the hour from both Corralejo and Puerto Del Rosario. Read Less

Took a taxi from the port to Carijelo, on the north west of the island. Would have been cheaper to hire a car! Fantastic ride towards the beach across a sandy desert that was normal looking sand and not the black sand found in the Canaries. Walked and paddled in the clear warm water until we found a nice shady spot. Swam for ages and had lunch, with fantastic Sangria, in a little beach cafe. They were later doing a barbie but we were too early and too hungry to wait. There were some great apartments next door which we found the phone number for. Great day. Read Less
