Here the entire group (all 9) went on a trip to the Everglades where we rode on an airboat. The only compaint here was that the airboat ride was not long enough. We were only on the airboat, maybe, 15 minutes. We did see alot of Aligators. We attended a Gator show and ate some Gator nuggets. Not the greatest things but, hey, we are adventurous. Back on the bus to the airport. From the airport we called the Comfort Inn where we were going to stay and catch a flight back to Tennessee on Monday. Back to the cold but back where people do acknowledge you when you speak (my little bubble). Thanks MOM-DAD for raising me with some manners. I hope that this review helps someone who might be waivering between RCL and NCL. For us...Hands Down RCL, But you should go and decide for yourself. Read Less

Embarkation was very organized and speedy. We were aboard ship in no time and able to explore and become familiar with all the Eurodam had to offer.

Turks and Caicos: Was great and clean. The shopping was on a small scale and pleasant. The swimming was good and not too much noise as in jet skis.

HAL's private island in the Bahamas. We missed this stop back in during Wilma when we were on the Volendam. We enjoyed this spot very much and would go back. It was the beach!

back home and off to the airport. port everglades is a great place to cruise from and the FLL airport is one of the best! both easy to get around in , but take a taxi to and from the airport and cruise port,is the quickest and cheapest transfer you will find , dont book a bus ride with your cruise line they are crowded and stop several times to pick up others and seem to take forever! and are more expensive than a taxi, and taxis are plentifull everywhere at port everglades and the airprt as well! There is so much that is offered in the Ft Lauderdale area that it would impossible to cover even half of them. We rented a car from Enterprise and had no problems with it. One thing to consider is that many of the car rentals have a free shuttle from the cruise terminal to the airport except Enterprise, which cost us $12.50 via taxi. We made a trip down to the Keys and had a good time there. We did the shopping thing at the Sawgrass Mills Mall and a three hour water taxi tour of the waterways also. The Kira-Mar suites, where we rented for the three days, was very close to the water taxi and beach. I was not that impressed with the Kira-Mar for the price but we wanted a place where we could make some of our own meals and it did come with a full kitchen along with one very small bathroom and a sofa sleeper in the main room, besides the one bedroom. The windows were the old glass awning style and were very, very noisy. The pluses were the location, full kitchen, management and wireless connection. Read Less

Embarkation was smooth and easy. We tried to use the automatic check in, but my husband's passport was different from the booking name. So we had to see customer service, which went quite smoothly. We had our photo taken and boarded the ship. We went straight to our cabin and found our key cards waiting for us. The cabin was bigger than I expected and was quite comfortable. We had a deck 6 balcony stateroom, port side and the views from the balcony were well worth the extra expense. Read Less

I found the port of Cozumel to be a bit generic, and not very festive, overall. But, the attraction is the stunning, crystal clear turquoise water, ideal for snorkeling. Far from downtown on this island, the feeling I got was one of visiting a growing but undeveloped country. But, the Mexicans were very friendly overall once onland, and running the gauntlet of vendors and shops to pass through the port terminal. They scream obscenities at times, in English, if you walk past them without buying, or look without buying. The beach was lovely, and one could easily tell they were still recovering from hurricane damage, by the bare and fallen trees you could still see in places in the $15 cab to the beach from the port. Apparently all of the island was devastated by hurricane Wilma in 2005, and all of the bright, welcoming buildings along the shore were less than three years old, and all of the palm trees on the beach were young as well. It was partly cloudy, BUT BRING A HIGH SPF ABOVE 45 TO THE BEACH! The sun is very intense, and with sunscreen, I burned within an hour and a half, and went back to the ship, another $15 cab trip. For the water alone this island stop is well worth it. Read Less

Because we had a late flight, we decided to do a ship's excursion in Ft. Lauderdale. We had wanted to go to the plantation with the botanical gardens, but since they did not have enough people to go on this...we ended up doing the Everglades Airboat. This was a nice tour. The tour guide was charming and was very good at keeping us together and making sure we knew alot about what we were seeing all along the way. It was a good way to kill some time before flying back. Half Moon Cay is HAL's private island and the best of the private islands. We had rented a Cabana which was stocked with soft drinks, water and dips and chips. The cabana had air conditioning, lounges, a dining table, our own outdoor shower and misters. It was heaven. The island is beautiful with sand like sugar and water so clear. A wonderful day.
