These people were the pushiest of all the ports we had stopped at. It got so bad that we had to get rude with them to leave us alone. We did get a few good buys though and they are fun (like Cozumel) to barter with.

We took a taxi to Mahahual about two miles south of the city. The most beautiful beach I've ever been on, excellent prices, had a 30 minute massage on the beach for $15, lunch and all day drinks for about $30. Absolutely amazing.

We consider Costa Maya the worst port of all that we've visited. The vendors are pushy, even following you around getting you to buy their wares. We only went ashore to stretch our legs and get some fresh air and sunshine

We rented a golf cart and went into Mahahual. The beach was beautiful, but the local vendors were a bit pushy. Overall, a positive experience and I would definitely do it again.

Highlight of our cruise. Catamaran and reef snorkel. The boat ride was fun but the reef snorkel was amazing! Very friendly staff and open bar on the way back in.

I did an all-inclusive package (Unlimited drinks, Lunch, Beach Activity and Massage) in $60 at www.barefootbeachbreak.com ($2 Taxi ride per person from outside the port). Either book in advance by paying full or go directly. When I went there only my cruise was scheduled for that date so it was not busy at all. Just 2 shops next to this “Tropicante” is also good place. They do not have package but prices are comparable. http://www.sandalsandskis.com/tropicante.html Do tell them the exact place where you want to go. Taxi person will try to drop you at other place where they will get commission. Read Less

Took a bus ride to the ruins. Great tour guide gave us some history on the way. The ruins themselves were great! Had a great insight to the people who lived there.

Enjoyed the free pool in the middle that allowed time to hang out with family, enjoy nearby shops, restaurant and dolphin watching. Reasonable prices and close to the ship.
