Bequia is a charming little port town, fun to stroll. There's not a lot to do but interesting to see.

We were tendered in to this small port and I see why. The island is so small we walked where we could in 60 minutes. There is nothing to do but get a water taxi to a beach we walked it but its very small. I noted there were no other cruise ships in this port I wonder why. We found a guy who took us to a Turtle sanctuary for 8 dollars each which filled some of the day in. I have noted that Thompson have taken this island stop off the 2018 cruise list. Read Less

I didn't love it, as where we got off the tender was just a wee village, but I understand the island offers many beautiful sights - I just didn't have the opportunity to see them.

Bequia - Weather was not on our side. We took the Northern Grenadine Catamaran tour and there were very rough seas and strong wind. Perhaps 25% of the passengers got sea sick including my DGF. we fought that all the way to Mustique and then had to alter our snorkel stop to Petite Nevis (probably due to sea conditions). The water was cooler than expected and there was not much to see underwater. We probably should not have left port and the crew told us it had been very rough all week. That said, with good weather it would have been a wonderful excursion since the scenery was terrific and I am sure the original snorkel site would have been great. Read Less

We were going to walk to Princess Margaret Beach, but there was one stretch of walkway that was treacherous and slick, so we turned back. Apparently we also wouldn't have fared well on the stairs and walkway to the beach itself given the earlier knee injury. We turned back and ate lunch at the Frangipani Cafe, which would have been fine if it hadn't taken two hours to eat lunch. We sat down and waited for menus... then waited for someone to come take our order... then waited. and waited. and waited for food. Finally we went to ask about it and were informed that it was coming right out - the cook had been called off to the gallery next door. Um... The island itself was quaint and special. If I had more time, I'd love to take three hours for lunch and meander the island. That simply wasn't in the cards. Read Less

Bequia is the largest island of the Grenadines (part of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) at 7 square miles. Another tender port. After the first fiasco, I had stopped listing to the port talks. But I did go to the official Bequia website and I had seen the maps. So I knew that things were compact in Port Elizabeth and I just scootered down the main street to St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church where we got to listen to a man singing and look at the church and cemetery. Then we took the tender back to the ship. Read Less

This is a very small port, visited by smaller ships and requiring a tender. Once there, you can walk to the beach or take a water taxi (neither suited to the less able-bodied), or take a short trip around the island. And that's it - that covers Bequia. The best thing to do - find a bar overlooking the bay, and sit with a drink in your hand watching the yachts bobbing up and down - absolute bliss. Read Less

We walked to st Margaret's bay which was lovely to chill on the beach. If you cannot walk far (15 minutes lovely walk along the coast) you can get a water taxi. They sell a mean rum punch on the beach.

The town is pretty small, but has some shops and restaurants to sit and watch daily life and the port. Princess Margaret Beach is an easy walk (past some very lovely waterfront homes) and you can "rent" a lounge chair for about $5. Water was a bit cooler than previous stops for some reason, but still a beautiful beach. The tenders were picking up passengers in town and at the beach, so that was a real plus to be able to see both during a relatively short day. Read Less

Charming little place, nothing much to do except walk, swim or sit and swill beer. We walked over to Friendship Beach which is not actually very far, just up and down a bit. We saw a great sign saying "We sell intoxicated liquor". Felt a bit mean not using the taxis as I am sure they only get business when the boat comes in. It is a short tender ride from the boat to the jetty. Read Less
