We did Panoramic Alpujarras Mountains, which was a nice tour with an excellent guide. Despite the name, this tour is really not wheelchair accessible.

Not much to see in Almeria itself and our Tour to Cabo De Gata was a bit boring with nothing much to see other than a lighthouse.

Best tour of the holiday - Flamenco - I have studied national dance and was very impressed by the Flamenco being authentic and not just tourist fodder. Set in a cave, we were given a small bottle of dry white wine with some tapas which I could not eat (as it was all bread based) and not offered any alternative. Guide was informative and we loved this excursion and would recommend it - 1st part does involve a little walking and going down some steps into an old water tank which is now a Flamenco venue Read Less

Wow what a beatiful place to visit with main streets lined with fountains and palm trees. Lots of places to stop and have a coffee etc. The beach was wonderful. Very relaxing day ashore.

Many people went to Granada to see the Alhambra, but it is quite a long drive from here and we had been before, so we spent the day wandering Almeria on our own. It is walkable from the cruise ship pier to the sights of the city. We climbed up to the Alcazaba, which is impressive, and free to enter. Then we walked up the San Cristobal hill to the monument and more views of the city and the Alcazaba. The cathedral, which is built like a fortress is also worth seeing. There are also many churches, most of which were closed. Read Less

First visit to Almeria. We did the (rather tough but well worth it!!) walk up to the top of the fort, beautiful gardens & even though my legs were aching, the views at the top were spectaculor!

I recommend the walking tour either by the cruise line (if you don't speak spanish) or by yourself if you speak Spanish.

We were here on a Sunday so everything was closed even though it is a mostly muslim city. Walked to Alcazara which was a beautiful hilltop ruin that was free to investigate. Lovely!
