We were told at the last minute we could take our 12-year old special needs grandson on a cruise but we only had three nights because of his therapy sessions. This was the only cruise available the dates we needed so we paid more than we usually do for a cruise. Overall the cruise was nice but basic. The food was excellent, most of the staff was friendly. Some of the music played at the pool during the day wasn't always family-friendly. We had to closely monitor our grandson with tv channels when we were in the room because most are not rated for children. We found one movie we could watch when he was resting. Embarking & disembarking were very easy & organized each time. We enjoyed playing the games onboard. We thoroughly enjoyed Greater Stirrup Key. We didn't participate in excursions in Nassau because of the expense, but had fun with our grandson at the Straw Market.

Don't ever sleep in Room 4016 on Norwegian Sun!!!

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window
Cabin OG 4016
The room itself was nice with a queen bed. The small sofa that made a "bed" was very hard & certainly shouldn't be considered a bed. Especially for someone that is 5'4". HOWEVER, we slept very little! There was a lot of banging overhead throughout all three nights. When we spoke with Guest Services after the first, they said they would talk to the guests overhead. The second night, the same thing. GS gave the same answer. The third night, at 1:30 a.m. my husband went to GS & complained. Their answer? Luggage was being moved! When he said luggage wasn't moved the first two nights, they basically shrugged & dismissed him. He told them with each trip which room we were in. The third night is when he finally realized we were right under the Atrium Bar & Lounge and the heavy tables, chairs, shelves, etc. were being moved all night to clean. (Which he found out when he went in the room behind the bar & talked to staff.) We have cruised many times & this was our worse experience. Having a special needs child also made it more difficult because of the constant sleep interruptions.
