A great itinerary on a nice ship! This was our 14th cruise on the 5th different cruise line (Celebrity, Carnival, NCL and Holland America). We’ve always liked Royal and liked the southern itinerary of this cruise last year on Celebrity so we decided to book a cruise with the same itinerary. We flew in from Ottawa, Canada the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Miami-Kendall, which is near the airport but is much cheaper than staying downtown as the prices are so expensive. Embarkation – I found the embarkation was very quick and smooth. Food – the food was good everywhere. We didn’t go to any specialty restaurants as I found the food in the buffet and the dining room was great and had lots of choice. Ship – the ship is really nice. I like the layout and the solarium pool was perfect. I got a coffee card and had a special coffee (latte, cappucino) almost every day. Ports - we had been to all of the islands before except for Labadee so we just walked around in Aruba, Curacao and shopped a bit. Bonaire was our favourite island again this year. We took a taxi to a public beach where we rented chairs, had some beer and went snorkeling. Entertainment – we don’t usually go to the shows but I found the one or two that I went to were as good as any other ship. Summary – Overall, I found the cruise to be very relaxing and the itinerary was great. We ended up booking the same ship for an Italy/Greece Mediterrean Cruise in September so we’ll be very familiar with the ship!
