Muster on day one was scheduled for 2:30, announced, and in documents. We sat, with other guests, waiting, for 45 minutes and it finally started at 3:15. Had to leave the room at about 2:45 because they hadn't scanned everyone in, then allowed back in to same room. Totally disorganized for a muster drill - luckily no icebergs in Caribbean. Carnival Breeze was totally dysfunctional. Queues for EVERYTHING, including 45 minutes on last day for 2 luggage tags. ALL passengers had to line up for their luggage tags (first time ever that we've not had tags delivered to the cabin). One buffet line for everything (had to join cooked, fruit, cereals etc line for one slice of toast). I got my croissant from continental buffet, asked where butter was and told I had to line up in cooked, fruit, cereal etc line with everyone else. Food was the worst we have ever had on any ship. Majority of the buffet was closed in the evenings. Had to speak to the maitre'd after observing the carvery person mopping his face, blowing his nose, then immediately picking up his knife to continue carving. Washbasin with sign saying "wash hands often" right behind him which he did NOT use. Very difficult ship to move around (other guests said same thing). Narrow walkways (with fake palm trees added in buffet area, to further restrict movement). Crew appeared stressed, very limited interaction with guests. Spa staff totally unfriendly, think we wasted our money on Thermal Suite. We had to wear purple wrist bands, but other guests (probably 80% - 90% without wristbands) appeared to be able to use facilities for free (no check-in ever, easy to just walk in). When we were given our wristbands on day one we were told Spa was on Deck 14 (that was total interaction with Spa staff). The aroma setting of the two rooms offering that didn't work. Both rowing machines in Fitness Center needed new batteries in console, told staff on day one, used machines throughout cruise but the batteries (despite assurances) were never replaced. There were two highspots for us on this cruise. One was Schwartz, the cruise director. He was outstanding. Without him this would not be a cruise we would have wanted our family to experience. The second highlight was Mahogany Bay and the Breeze was the only ship that met our date requirements.. We have been there twice previously and wanted to take our family there. We would never consider cruising on the Breeze again, there are so many other cruiselines to choose from.
