We booked this cruise specifically for Cuba, but were rerouted to Costa Maya instead. The changed itinerary was terrible. The ship was in fair condition, lots of wear and tear and in need of another cosmetic remodel. Our rooms Were 3544/3540-the adjoining door didn’t open, and even if it did open, one of the beds was blocking the door. Rooms are very small. Windjammer was overcrowded with hit or miss food. I will say that the staff working in the Windjammer was attentive to all guest, and stopped by tables frequently, even if they were pushing champagne brunches and other onboard events. The piano player in the Schooner Lounge has a tip jar out while playing the piano which we all found overkill. The restaurant for dining was inconsistent. Our head waiter struggled with English and the other waiter maybe said ten words the entire time, except to fill out the questionnaire. Food was hit or miss here too. The music in the dining room was horrible. Incredibly distracting and way too loud. One night it was all sci-fi music. We were supposed to have a table for four, but noticed on night one that our kids were sitting at a different table. We thought we took care of this at guest services but were out at a table for six. When I originally booked our reservations, they had asked if we were celebrating anything special, which we were, however my daughter’s birthday came and went without any acknowledgement. On board entertainment was okay, one comedian, Kivi, was hilarious, the other was gutter trash. Cafe Latte-Tudes, served Starbucks coffee but they ran out of syrups/flavoring. They had a nice sampling of desserts and croissants. Deck 7 was for walking/running but two days it was closed for maintenance. Disembarkation in Fort Lauderdale was miserable as there were only two custom agents-it took us an hour and a half to disembark. The captain was low to communicate with passengers throughout the trip-we have had European cruises where the captain would broadcast every morning however captain Daniel very rarely communicate with the passengers over the PA system.

Dated with quality issues
