I have rated our overall experience on NCL “Good”. The itinerary was Amazing!! This is the only way to visit all of the Hawaiian Islands. We are frequent experienced cruisers with Royal Caribbean, Disney & Carnival. This was our 1st time cruising with NCL. Initial greetings for passengers were great at embarkation but throughout the cruise, some of the ships staff never smiled or greeted passengers passing by on the ship. They seem as if they weren’t happy. Cabin: Our balcony stateroom had sawdust on the balcony rail & floor. I actually thought it was termites. Definitely was not impressed. Renovations are definitely needed. Our cabin attendant was very nice but did not know our names. We’ve sailed in the past with RCCL, Disney & Carnival and the cabin attendants made sure that they knew our names and gave us business cards so that we remembered their names which makes it very personable. Cabin toilets: At port one day our toilet was not flushing. Guest Services said that we would have to go down to Deck 5 to use the restroom. Really!! At least announce the suspension of the toilet system on the over head system so that we are not Blindsided. After calling to complain, our toilets flushed eventually. Shaking my head. Aloha Cafe: Breakfast & Lunch was good. Dinner not a lot of options. I must say that Lunch was always better than Dinner. Aloha Cafe Dining area: a white male staff was heard saying “this is very stressful” while picking up plates & utensils. He repeated it several times. Staff in that area did not smile or asked if anyone needed anything or passed out juices like on RCCL, Disney or Carnival. There was one young lady Salyrica Wilson that was very nice & greeted us with a smile everyday. There were 2 other young ladies that had a great personality that we met our last lunch day. Main Dining Skyline & French Restaurants: Very slow service. Our waiters & servers did not interact with the kids but to give them crayons & coloring menus. Unlike RCCL, Disney & Carnival, there were tricks & interaction with the kids. T : Was Amazing! Our Japanese cook was fun & entertaining for our dinner party of 9 on our last night. It was an awesome surprise to see him our last morning in the Aloha Cafe. He made excellent omelettes. Entertainment: The cruise entertainment director was very dry & boring, especially when she said “and Aloha!” Very Boring!! She wasn’t exciting at all. No music
