  3. Koningsdam
We have cruised with celebrity 5 times and chose this for the itinerary. I was a little worried to change lines but we were very impressed with the Koningsdam in most areas. The ship is very modern and light, kept beautiful by staff who are always cleaning. Fellow passengers mostly American,Canadian and Australian. The public areas - lovely lounges, 2 small pools with hot tubs ( one adult only) The main pool area had a retractable roof and cinema screen. We had a balcony and used this a lot as there were not many private places to enjoy the sun. The food in lido cafe and main dining room was excellent. as was the inclusive burger bar and pizza place .The grand Dutch Cafe has excellent food and tea/ coffee are chargeable. We did not feel the need to use the speciality restaurants. The Crows nest on deck 12 had lovely views, served breakfast and had books and games available. The entertainment was not for us. BB Kings Blues club was excellent but far too loud Rolling stone and billboard on board also very loud Lincoln Centre Stage classical were very professional. The theatre could have been spectacular , only acts worth seeing- a magician and planet earth. The drinks were really overpriced but there are 2 happy hours a day ( announced on ships newsletter ) , buy a drink, get same second drink for $2. The shore excursions were overpriced, for example, Taormina in Sicily - ship tour $89 pp, we got a return taxi at the port for 4 people €120 . Most of the places to explore could be done on foot, no need for expensive excursions

Great first HAL experience
