I chose this cruise for the ports and excursions. For me, the ship is often just a means of getting to excursions. I plan my excursion so that they are all different and hopefully unique, with a mix of active and less active tours. That was difficult to do on this trip, as two of our five excursions were cancelled at the last minute, forcing us to scramble for others. The entertainment was so-so, with most of the comedians the worst of all. Technical difficulties tripped up the RC singers and dancers. The promenade was unbelievably crowded and loud; even young people were complaining about the volume. Making our way through the crowds was treacherous, and we could see several small children with their parents almost get run over by the crowds. Activities on the ship were mainly geared toward spending money in the shops, casino, spa, and restaurants. We always enjoyed dance classes and games on other ships. They were very scarce (only 1 dance class at an awkward time) on this cruise. Plumbing on Freedom was sketchy at best. At times we would flush the toilet and it would actually flush 3-5 minutes later. We spent WAY too much time at the service desk. Our worst experience was finding a mysterious bottle of champagne and 3 bottles of water in our cabin labelled "Complements of Crown and Anchor Society" for which the ship wanted to charge us! We were eventually able to argue them out of it. Please form your own opinion but, for us, we plan never to sail on Freedom again.

Just OK
