Celebrity Edge Cruise Review by pjdt
- Sail Date: June 2019
- Destination: Western Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Edge Single Stateroom with Infinite Veranda
Let me tell you from the start that we had. We have over 50 cruises under our belt and 35 of these were with Celebrity and this was by far the best ship we have ever sailed on.
It is difficult to understand what all the previous gripes have been about. I suppose if one has a bad experience, like the salt pot being empty, then one can give it one star, but seriously, Celebrity have produced a first class ship with excellent crew and first class service.
You must go expecting it to be different, and it certainly is.
Yes, its expensive, compared to other celebrity ships, but the standard of luxury is breathtaking. The infinite cabins are great, yes, the ac does go off if the balcony window is down, but wouldn’t you do that at home if you opened a folding door?
So those of you worried about booking on the Edge, need not worry, unless of course you are serial complainers.
Embarkation in Rome was a breeze, straight to your stateroom where your seapass card is waiting. The ocean view was at times crowded but it was always possible to find a seat, and the table clearing service was excellent. Others have complained they had difficulty getting someone to serve a drink. Just ask any waiter and they will organise it for you. Simple!
The theatre has to be seen to be believed and the shows were generally good.
We were fortunate that this was the President/CEOs cruise so we benefitted from additional entertainment such as a ballroom dancing exhibition in the Club and on the last night flamenco dancers on the resort deck
I mentioned we had done 35 cruises and on this cruise we had our Zenith celebration party on the Bridge with Captain Costas and senior officers where we were joined by Andrea Shey, Director of Loyalty from Miami, and the great Captains Club Hostess, Elizabeth.
