Celebrity Edge Cruise Review by DarrenM
- Sail Date: June 2019
- Destination: Western Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda
I was also under the impression that everyone sits round listening to lounge music quietly drinking Martini, or taking ballroom dancing lessons. Again probably wrong, but i am sure you get the idea.
Anyway, from the ultra modern cabins, to the ultra modern theatre and very modern performers and performances, the fabulous food, the amazing staff, glorious restaurants, great pool area, that was never crowded and some great bars serving draft beer, what more could ask for?
Oh yes, the complete lack of a formal evening, was the icing on the cake. Yes the ladies dressed up, and yes the odd fella decided to wear a penguin suit, but generally it was just smart casual wear, which is how it should be on holiday, in my humble opinion.
Never understood how anyone could be comfortable wearing a dickie bow tie, no matter what the occasion. Even ties are pointless. I digress.
Everything was perfect, well thats how it seemed to me, butgranted I have nothing to compare it to. But why do I need to compare it?
My wife and I loved it.
Granted we met folk that didnt. Some of their complaints were on the bizarre side to be frank. From the lack of Bingo.......yes apparently thats a thing........and a few complaining that Eden was anti God. I kid you not.
And talking about Eden. What a fabulous place it is. My favourite part of the ship. Three decks amazingly decoarted, with a wonderful bar, and Edenists, the performers that were incredible, and quite personal. Utterly superb. And very hard to properly explain.
Just go, immerse yourself in the whole atmosphere and enjoy the Eden ride.
Other bars we loved....The Sunset bar, deck 15, brilliant as the boat left port.
The Club was great.
Didnt like the Martini bar. A bit pretentious, with some extremely pretentious folk seemingly permenantly seated around the bar making it hard to get served. And service here was sometimes slow due to them making cocktails constantly, and never having more than 3 working there.
The Pool was great and never crowded, and the food was immense. Agin nothing to compare it to.
Arriving and leaving was a doddle really. Unless you are extremely picky.
The state of the art theatre is great too, as were the peformances, especially the guest appearance of the amazing Incanto. Utterly amazing. Look them up on t'internet.
Eddy the ships Diector was brilliant too. Very calm, casual, and down to earth. Just whats needed on such a modern ship.
Loved every minute of it.

But sleepin as the ship sailed with the window wide open with the sound of the sea, was exquisite.
Ultra modern rooms and plenty of space, especially as you dont spend that long on the rooms.

Pisa didnt do a lot for me, but my wife loved the leaning tower.
Monaco (Monte Carlo)We just wandered to Monte Carlo. Great looking place, but admiring the filthy rich isnt what I call fun. Folk with way too much wealth and flaunting like confetti.View All 474 Monaco (Monte Carlo) Cruise Port Reviews
