Norwegian Jewel Cruise Review by suntangirl
- Sail Date: June 2019
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Mid-Ship Inside
Our room steward was very friendly and kept the room cleaned. We received towel animals each night which was a nice gesture. We saw the comedian twice on the cruise. He was better the first time. The second time he did an adult version which wasn't as good as his family show. We also saw the show where they sang 70-80 songs. That was a little corny and the singers were not that good. We didn't get to any of the other shows. The food in the buffet was always good and plenty to choose from. We did eat often at O'Sheeans and always enjoyed what we got. The service was always fast and friendly. The only specialty restaurant we ate at was Moderno. The service there was very good and the food was very good. I tried their specialty drink and did not like that at all.
We had the land portion of our trip first then got the ship in Seward and finished in Vancouver. Embankment and Disembarkation went very smoothly with no issues.
We loved everything about this cruise. We did a Whale Watching and Mendenhall Glacier tour in Juneau. We did see some whales, seals and Eagles. In Seward we did the Ghosts & Good Time Girls Walking Tour and it was very informative and lots of fun. In Ketchican we did the All you can eat Crab Feast and Lumberjack show. This was a great meal and the Lumberjack show was very entertaining.
We would definitely cruise with Norwegian again. Since this was our second time on the Jewel we would probably pick another ship next time.

Icy StraitWe didn't get to do the excursion we wanted to because it sold out until we wanted to book it. If you want to do the Zip Rider book it early it fills up fast. There isn't much of anything else to do in the port except shop if you don't do an excision.View All 332 Icy Strait Cruise Port Reviews

Mendenhall GlacierThis was a beautiful place. We didn't have enough time to do the trails to get close to the water fall but the viewing area close to the visitors center was beautiful. We were able to see both the waterfall and the glacier good from there.View All 876 Mendenhall Glacier Reviews
Whale WatchingWe saw some whale, some seals and some eagles. The boat was very nice and excellent viewing areas inside and out.View All 824 Whale Watching Reviews
KetchikanThis was our favorite stop. This tour was great. You take a van to the lodge and get to eat all the crab you want, you get a salad, blueberry cheesecake and one beer included. The tour guide was very nice and explained how to crack the crab legs/clusters in order to get all the meat. After that we went to the Lumberjack show. The show was very entertaining. This is a great family event.View All 12,792 Ketchikan Cruise Port Reviews

SkagwayThe tour guide dressed the way they would have dressed in the gold rush time. She was very informative on the walking tour and was very funny. We learned about the working girls and the men who came during the gold rush.View All 12,792 Skagway Cruise Port Reviews

VancouverWe didn't do any tour in Vancouver. We bought a day pass to ride the Skytrain/city buss and water boat so we could do what we wanted until our flight left later in the evening. That was good for all day and as many times you want to get on and off. We toured the city on our own. This is a very big city but were able to get to see Olympic Village, China Town, Gastown and Granville Island by using this mode of travel. All were nice to see.View All 646 Vancouver Cruise Port Reviews
