I was disappointed with this Ship overall. The layout was not one I favored. Especially the casino. I have never felt so crammed in while giving away money. The casino staff though was some of the most friendly on the ship. The design of the dining room was awful. I kept getting seated on sides of dining room. Unlike other ships where the dinning room is open, this one had plenty of walls. I couldn't even see the dances by the staff (one of my favorite things about carnival). Also aside form one waiter on a 7 day cruise, the service was terrible. While I was hoping to get the experience of the infamous Matt Mitchum, he was on the Ellen show during our cruise. So I got my all time favorite Cruise Director Schwartz. The other staff member who made this trip good was Houston; the Punchliner comedy club host. I think he is now on the sunrise so if you get the chance go experience him. I stayed in a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony Room, and I LOVED it. In fact, I don't think I could ever go back to a regular room. Our steward Patrick was the best. I keep hoping to have him again In September. The location of our room was perfect. We were one deck above the spa and one deck below the serenity deck. My only complaint about the Spa room is they sell passes to the thermal suite so its not exclusive to those in the spa cabin. At times the thermal suite gets rather full. I spent a large amount of my time in the thermal suite. If you haven't tried one, it will change your life. In Jamaica we bought a day pass to the Sandals Royal Caribbean. It is where I honeymooned I knew it would be quite with great food and lots of booze. In Grand Cayman, we did purchase the stingray city excursion but it was canceled due to weather. In Cozumel, we did Mr. Sancho's Beach Club. That is a go to for us. Never fails we always have a good time. I am going on the Vista again but not necessarily by choice. Its just the only one out of Galveston with desired itinerary. I hope this next time will be more up to Carnivals standards.
