We chose this cruise based on history with RCL and the itinerary - Spain, France and Italy in one week! It was a great cruise, a little chilly since it was not that hot in late May and no real pool time aboard the ship - lots of hot tub time at night after daily port stops and lots of walking! Oasis is a great ship, our first time aboard but we had been on other Oasis ships before - only disappointment was the Cats Broadway show - just not a good show for the cruise audience - loved other productions on RCL before, especially Mama Mia! Love all the activities and the food was very good. We used MyTime dining and with different port departure times each day it made it easy set our group dining time at a different time each night. Mini golf, zip line, daily trivia and flow rider were very popular activities for the five kids with us. The Harry Potter trivia game was fantastic, held by assistant Cruise Director Prince who wore his Harry Potter cloak and held the contest in the Blaze nightclub. Our favorite onboard shows were the Aqua theater show and the Fly Away show by the entertainment team- both great shows that everyone enjoyed. One complaint was that for those of us who had cruised RCCL before was that we all used the RC onboard app and had planned to rely on that heavily for onboard messaging - only to find out that while RCL has this on Allure of the Seas and other ships, it was not available on Oasis. That is a great feature to use the ship WiFi without buying the internet package to stay connected- hope RCL gets that on all ships soon! Final night we had a mix up with booking tickets for the behind the scenes tour of the ship, and the RCL staff stepped in and fixed the issue when the tour was overbooked and offered us dinner at the Italian Restaurant on the house - our best meal of the trip by far!

Family cruise vacation - 9 out of 10!

Cabin Review

Cabin 3V 7436
I took eight of us and we booked inside cabins to save some money and those rooms worked out nicely - we had three passengers in two cabins and two in one cabin - was surprisingly comfortable with the couch that folded out to a full size bed. Key thing about this cruise is that you are in a different port every day and there was only one day at sea, so spent very little time in the room when not sleeping.

We booked RomeInLimo for a day trip to Florence - fantastic choice and I highly recommend this to everyone. I worked with Jany at RomeInLimo to put together this day trip from our cruise ship port of La Spezia and he was fantastic working with us in advance to schedule and book this trip. Our driver Fabrizio was fantastic, made the drive very enjoyable and tailored the day to our groups wants and desires. Based on the recommendation from @Jany-RomeInLimo, we booked skip the line tickets (very hard to get by the way due to the cruise ship season and tours booking up all the times!) and our driver timed the day to see the Santa Croce cathedral and other sites before Accademia were we saw the statue of David - a must see recommendation from me for a day in Florence. RomeInLimo was a fabulous choice - made from reading past reviews by other crusie travelers - for half the cost of the ship excurisions on buses, we got our personal van for my whole family and Fabrizio did a magnificent job of showing us as much as we wanted to see in one day. Do yourself a favor and book RomeInLimo on your next cruise to Italy to see the sights and avoid the cruise ship crowds.

Five kids took the tour to city center where they boarded a Hop On/Hop off bus to tour Marseilles - had to wait at city center for an hour and a half before they got on the bus - tour was great.

My kids took the ship excursion to Pompei and really enjoyed it - about 5 hours and lots of walking, but they loved the visit to Pompei.

We booked a private trip with RomeInLimo to pick up us at the port off our Royal Caribbean cruise ship at Civitavecchia and spend the day in Rome. We selected this option over booking with the cruise line excursions for two main reasons: Cost and Convenience. For eight people, the cost for the private RomeInLimo Sprinter van was half of the cost of the cruise line excursion and it could not have been better - the van was very comfortable and instead of traveling with a very large group, it was just our family and made the experience that much more personal and memorable. Convenience - having just our family gave us tremendous flexibility on our itinerary for Rome and our driver Mauricio knew perfectly how to adapt the day stops in Rome to our needs. Our group ranged in age from 79 to 21, and Mauricio was able to drop us off and pick us up very close to everything we wanted to see. We saw everything in Rome we wanted to see for just a 9 hour trip - all the great ancient Rome sites, Trivi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and topped off with the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel at Vatican City. My son and wife had been in Rome two years previous and they could not believe how our driver was able to work everything we wanted to see into a single day. Our driver gave us great tips to avoid crowds and reduce line waiting times at the Vatican by going direct from the Sistine Chapel into St Peters without having to return outside and enter the huge lines. Just a perfect day in Rome and I highly recommend RomeInLimo to everyone.
