We had sailed on the Oasis (Oct '17 & Nov '17), the Allure (Apr '18) and the Harmony (Sep '18) so it was only logical to try the fourth and largest of the Oasis class ships. The ship did not disappoint. It is beautiful and we especially love Central Park and the evenings of music. Our cabin was very nice, we especially like the dual wardrobe and chest that has been added for the Harmony and Symphony. Semi-reclining chairs on the balcony made for many pleasant nights. Entertainment was good. Hairspray and Ice Show were superb. Water Show was not up to the level of Harmony but still very impressive. The 2nd production number, Flight, was confusing and disappointing. The big problem was the food. WHAT HAS HAPPENED??? The Windjammer was poor with very little variety and food temperature was a problem. Will someone please teach the breakfast staff how to toast bread and keep pancakes from turning into rocks? Stop grilling the pancakes/french toast/waffles an hour in advance. We did not choose specialty dining much to our own peril. The MDR food on the Oasis and Allure was wonderful. The Harmony saw a slight decline. The Symphony ended up at the bottom. The food in the main dining room was chain restaurant quality. While service was superb, the menu lacked imagination and the food was mediocre at best. I really would prefer to wait until I have finished my entree to decide if I want dessert. Having said that desserts were monotonous. Could I please have a slice of chocolate cake that is not bitter dark covered in bitter dark ganache? When we complained about our dinner on one occasion, the manager offered a free upgrade to the filet mignon (normally offered at additional charge). I passed but my wife tried it. Although ordered medium-rare it came out barely pink and very dry. Maybe it's our fault for doing so many Oasis class ships back-to-back. Maybe we have just gotten bored with their repeating menus. Maybe we gluttons for punishment because we have scheduled another trip on the Allure in September '19. Hoping to see if the whole fleet has gone downhill or just the Symphony.

Great ship....poor food

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 8D 8300
Very nice and clean. In excellent physical shape with no wear. We really like the split wardrobes and chest of drawers. Bed was very comfortable. Room Steward was excellent. Patio was perfect. We seldom heard any of our neighbors. This was the first time we had booked a cabin this far aft. It was fine.
