Royal Princess Cruise Review by wazo
- Sail Date: May 2019
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Mini-Suite with Balcony
We have have great experiences sailing with Princess Cruises, and this Alaska cruise/tour to Denali and Glacier Bay was no different. We first sailed on Royal Princess to the Caribbean when she was brand new 5 years ago, so when this Alaska trip popped up, it was a no-brainer. She is a phenomenal ship with all the comforts and beauty one would expect from a world class cruise line. From the award winning speciality restaurants, world class service, the Lotus Spa, entertainment to please all tastes, casino, a gymnasium that rivals some land based gym’s, an adults only retreat, and all of the other onboard pampering’s, Royal Princess is first class all the way. The new Medallion Class, automates everything from cabin entry, food and drink ordering, daily schedule, and even locating other members of your group onboard. It’s new, it’s smart, and it makes a lot of things onboard more accessible. Excursions were available for all palates, be it zip lining, kayaking, glacier tours, float plane flights to Discovery Channel hits like the one we were on that flew us over five glaciers to the Taku Lodge for a fresh salmon bake. We also pulled crab pots and competed in a crab shell stacking contest which by the way included us eating way more fresh crab than we should have. This 11 day cruise/tour was a complete immersion into all Alaska and Denali has to offer. Highly recommended.
