We booked this about 12 months ago and after reading the reviews prior to sailing, we went on with an open mind. Firstly, the ship is very modern and chic. Then you get to the logistics of it. We had an infinity balcony - we loved it - not for people who want to sit on their balcony and sunbath - we loved the extra space it provided in our stateroom - I would describe it more as a “sunroom” than a balcony. We never closed the folding internal doors. There are tons of outside seating but very little inside space to relax and chill. Whatever were Celebrity thinking when they put the Gym/Fitness center at the front of the ship on level 15 - arguable the best vantage point on the ship. Also Eden - I hope that eventually they will admit that this was done as a joke - because if not then they seriously should not be in the cruise industry - the “Edenists” and their choreographer need to disembark ASAP!! There are very few inside spaces to sit and chill. So hope that you do not get bad weather on a sea day!! Specially dining is ok but not worth the price they are charging. The Oceanview Cafe if ok if you like Shepherds Pie, Fish Curry and MAC & Cheese - no variety, especially in the evenings. Getting drinks is also not easy, very few waiters walking round taking orders so therefore it’s a fetch it yourself sort of thing. Or send the husband! The Roof Top Garden is a nice place to sit - but showing movies at 2pm in a temperature of 90 degrees with no cover seems pretty mindless. The furnishings and seating around the ship have obviously been done by someone with no prior experience in furnishing a ship. The majority of seat are uncomfortable and I would imagine will be worn out within 12 months. This was our first cruise on Celebrity and will probably be our last. The ship appeared to be under staffed. There were stains on carpets and furnishing. Although all the glass makes the ship very modern somebody needs to tell Celebrity it has to be cleaned!! We desperately wanted to prove all the negative reviews where wrong but unfortunately the majority of them were right. Best advise to future cruisers is go on with an open mind and judge for yourself. Hopefully Celebrity will listen to passengers comments and act upon them - quickly!!
