Our cruise started with wind and rain. This was no way Royal Caribbean’s fault. I will not be reviewing this cruise based on the rough seas, high winds or the rained out excursions. Instead, I will base it on the the ship and room and on board entertainment. Our stateroom-1812. Very spacious and the floor to ceiling window was amazing. Plenty of space for a family of four. The in room refrigerator, large flat panel television and safe are great accommodations to the room. Our room tenant was great and very accommodating. And that is where the pros end. As I started, we encountered bad weather on this trip and during high winds, the window created a howling sound and as bad as that may seem that was nothing compared to the creaking sound caused by the gap along the wall/ceiling. This noise was so loud we were unable to sleep and went to guest services first thing in the morning to complain and possibly get a different room. We were willing to downgrade to get out of that horrible room. Unfortunately there were no available rooms or so they said. They acted as if this was the first complaint about the room but from the looks of the gap it had tons of paper wedges into the gap I am assuming to eliminate that horrible creaking. In calm waters neither of these problems were an issue. The staff and all the entertainment on the ship was awesome and would recommend this ship just not the room.
