We are destination cruisers rather than loyalty cruisers. So we can compare the difference in cruise lines. We've sailed on Royal, Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian and Carnival. And this was a very nice cruise. It doesn't beat our best - the Norwegian Getaway -, but it was certainly worth the money. Embarkation was the best ever. There was no filling out paper work - just show your ticket and board. . Disembarking was confusing as the printed delivered document gave different information than the computer screen. It went quickly, though. We ate at Chops, Izumi and Giovanni's all of which were good. Surprisingly, we liked Izumi the best. I think because the waitress was so pleasant. If there were on thing we could complain about it would be the entertainment. There were a couple of good shows, but over all we felt it was greatly lacking. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed the Park Café as it was quiet enough to read or play cards. The hot tub needs to be replaced. There is only one in the Solarium and it is way behind the times. There were few children on the ship, I think we would try a different cruise line if we did it again so that we would have a fair measure. This is the longest cruise we have ever taken and found it enjoyable other than the lack of entertainment. It is embarrassing to say that we spent some time watching TV and we went to the Cinema on board. We would have preferred to see a good live show. In this area Norwegian is superior and it has more choices of restaurants.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 5D 8140
The cabin was roomy with lots of storage and quiet. There were cabins above and below so no noise. It had a lovely larger than usual balcony with three chairs and a table. We brought the $7 magnets from the hardware store to hang our hats and lanyards on which was fun. The walls of the cabins are magnetic. The suitcases fit under the bed. The sofa in the cabin was worn and should be replaced but it was usable. Our cabin steward did a great job

  • Catamaran Tour
The catamaran tour was very good as was the whole atmosphere on the boat. It was great fun. Lots of rum and a beautiful lobster lunch. Two great beaches where the water was warm and lovely to swim in.

  • Spices and Waterfalls
This was a terrible tour. We went thru the slums of Grenada. The roads were almost impassible. The tour guide was rude, arrogant and did not attend to the tourists well.

  • Historic House
We toured the Romney Plantation and a Fort. We saw where Thomas Jefferson's grandfather lived and was buried.
